Before Katie could answer, she felt something blowing on her back. It was a cool breeze—a way-too-familiar cool breeze. Oh no! Not the magic wind. Not here, not now. Not in front of all of her friends.
“I wish I’d brought a sweater,” Emma remarked. “It’s kind of windy up here.”
Phew. If Emma felt the wind, too, then it couldn’t be the magic wind. It had to be a regular, run-of-the-mill, not switcherooing kind of wind. This was the kind of wind you felt when you were at the top of a Ferris wheel, overlooking a county fair with your best friends. And there was no better wind than that!
