by B L Barkey
If the night was forever
As long as they were together
They knew they weren’t alone.
And then they dreamt of mirrors and clouds. Whirlpools surrounding. Black holes and stars. All collecting at center-point. Inside. Balanced. Where all is right, and words move faster than light.
II
They watch from the Sun
Giving life and light from all before them
To all who will see…
A great, snow-doused mountain
With man…
The galaxy backdrop.
And yet,
…
A particle of dust
Rising from a new
World of …
Spinning, spinning.
A breath of wind gives …
…
The mountain gives birth to a woman,
Who is falling gracefully from waterfalls on high.
She lands softly …
Power of life suspended within,
returned …
Flames lick the planet clean of life.
An upset …
Lands once segmented,
Now to be mended
From fewer parts to greater whole.
Roots and seeds sprout
Flowers and Fruit
In their time and sphere,
While …
To the call of the ones about.
New light follows,
Restoring joy …
To formulate the new.
…
Shadows in hiding grow bold,
As the light …
Smiles beam with the rays of the Sun,
Laughter rings from the planets well-spun.
Endless worlds… to walk through,
But first …
The greatest beauty oft
Born from the latter.
Knowledge a treasure to carry between,
Diminished, no never,
As long as not severed,
From …
In the last times, the children will cry,
A vast hole will open and …
Old ways returned with vengeance untold,
Temptation and danger, fear will be sold.
Trails often tread, rocks dispersed,
All now is cloud, the duty rehearsed.
Powers passed down to those prepared.
Pain was theirs, no comforts spared.
Look in the mirror,
Swim in its pane…
…
Places to go,
Others have said.
Just take a look,
What’s now ahead?
With wide eyes, both opened and closed,
Walking in dreams.
There are more ways than one,
To grow and become.
Perhaps to rest is the one truer test.
Pillars of light
Village of spikes
Promise reprieve,
Good times, delight.
Beware of this tree. For good are the roots
But evil the branches, hold tight to …
Sun of all things
Both spirit and …
…
Beginning to rise on new …
Before a trembling and screaming is heard,
And the old ways fall, igniting the greatest …
Dark is the veil that divides.
What did once sing,
In agony screams,
Her shoulders once green,
Leaves so serene,
Waters clear glean,
Falls …
…
Forgetting all pleasure
Of watching her kin dance in Sun
Brightly shining.
It is done
It is done.
All is won,
Who has won?
Children …
Look to each other
Purpose is calling
To save …
Life can continue, life can go on.
A tale of the children
Whom grace rained upon.
But war wages on
For others deceived,
One greater fire,
Where…
…
Life or the ashes.
Destiny awaits
For those who will mantle
Themselves in the choice
To heed of the candle,
…
And they sing,
One who seeks righteous fruit holds them all.
Another returns once complete is the fall.
Third who dives into the depths of desire.
Fourth walks on light to protect home from fire.
The final to teach how to fight through the wall (veil).
Yet still there’s another from birth, to end all.
Horizons…
… horizons…
And they watch from the Sun.
END OF BOOK I
“All endings are beginnings, to someday end themselves.
Such is growth. Such is the way of things.”
“All that is lost will return in the end.”

Ackowledgements
Countless souls contribute to writing, editing, publishing, and marketing a book; especially one that runs over 190,000 words. Though I couldn't possibly name every person who has inspired me during this journey, I will list several of them below.
Thanks to my mother, for being my best friend since my very first breath.
Thanks to my father and step-father, both of whom are incredible men whom I look up to.
Thanks to all my siblings, for just being so cool and rad. I love all six of you.
Thanks to my vast extended family, all of whom I love and look forward to seeing during distant, awkward family gatherings.
Thanks to all the writers out there who've inspired me throughout my life, including George Lucas, who changed my life with Star Wars.
Special thanks to Emily Kidman, my publicist, editor, and beta-reader, whom helped me take the final leap from final draft to published book.
And above all, thanks to my Creator, without whom I wouldn't even exist. So yeah, there's that.
