Lucien: Dragofin Mated: Book 2 (Dragonfin Clan Mated) Page 35

Quinn choked with unexpected laughter. “I know! I’ve been trying to figure out how to get it aired out in the middle of January too,” she added.

“Never you worry. First thing in the morning, come over to the Diner, and I’ll show you the interdimensional version of the Internet and online shopping marketplaces. I have just the thing. A few pellets placed around this floor will last you for at least five years.”

  “Really?”

“Yes, and I also have some—”

“Miss Connie? Don’t you have a Diner to get back too and close for the night?” Lucien interrupted.

“Baby, that’s being rude,” Quinn said.

“No, it’s called being truthful. You two can get together tomorrow. It’s time for bed. We’ve all had a long day.”

“Amen,” Hildy said, yawning, as Ajax, pulled her in the direction of the stairs.

To Miss Connie, who was making her way to the door of the Lair, Quinn said, “Please excuse Mr. Grumble Butt over there. That Gryphon can get cranky.”

“Don’t I know it? One time when he was injured by a—”

This time Lucien came over, picked Quinn up and said, “Good night Miss Connie. I’ll send her over to hang out with you tomorrow or next week, depending on how long we sleep. Right now, I’m tired and want my mate to come to bed so I can get some sleep.”

“You can get some sleep? What about me?”

“What about you?” Lucien asked as Quinn waved goodbye to Miss Connie going out the door.

“I might have some things I wanted to do to you before you went to sleep.” She winked and kissed his heavily stubbled chin. “Are you too tired for that?”

“Never,” he whispered in her ear.” Turning to the others, he said, “Going down to the den. Don’t disturb us until we come up for air.”

Matt left with Wren to get her bag, smiling from ear to ear. In the distance, Quinn heard Hildy and Ajax as they ascended the stairs. Hildy said, “But we still haven’t found Mr. Scott and who or what the Paragons are? How is that fair? Oriana gets sent to jail, Julia gets sent to a mental institution and that toad, Mr. Scott is still out there free as a bird? And, Ajax, what about my birthday celebration? You forgot about that didn’t you?”

It was Lucien who brought her attention back when his hot, firm lips brushed against hers. “We’ll find them. Mr. Scott and this secret agency won’t get away with anything.”

“Glad you realized that. It would have been a shame to help Hildy find them without your help.”

“You’ll never have to do anything like that without mine or the Dragofin Clan’s support. We’re all family.”

  Down in their den…

Quinn allowed Lucien to lift her out of the scented oil bath they’d taken together. As he wrapped her in a bath sheet and nuzzled her neck, Quinn thought about everything that had happened in less than a month.

“This has been the definition of a world-wind romance. I might have to slow down, lest we burn out.”

He finished drying her off and picked her up with ease, transporting her back to their spacious bed.

“Don’t you dare. If anything, I’m planning on us burning hotter and hotter as the years go by. For now, I’m ready for all the things you wanted to do to me before we go to sleep.”

Her smile must have been big because her Dragon rumbled deep and long in appreciation.

“I thought I’d never get the chance to get you down here to take advantage of you. Come here,” she said, opening her arms wide to accommodate his massive chest.

When he came to her, Quinn was quick to change her position to land on top of him. Taking his full bottom lip into her mouth and sucking it nice and slow, she loved the sensual moan of pleasure he released.

“I want you to lay back, relax and let me take care of you tonight,” she said, loving how he just nodded, agreeing with her every word.

She kissed him hard and fierce, taking and giving what she needed and had to give. Moving down his body, Quinn found what she’d been wanting to taste for so long. Enjoying how aroused he already was, she took her time taking him into her mouth. As she enveloped his crown with her moist lips, a low rumble filled the room again.

This was going to be a night to remember. Lucien was true to his word. He submitted to Quinn’s every whim, allowing her to take him how she wanted and for as long as she wanted. Throughout the hours of the night, they rode waves and crests of ecstasy by her orchestration. Quinn thanked the Goddess for blessing her with the best man, and Dragon, she’d needed to make living worth it.

Instead of trying to find a new client to save her business, Quinn found her new life to help save the world. It only took her losing everything to find the only thing she ever needed—true love. She had it in Lucien. The thought hit her in the heart again. She was the proud mate of the leader of the most powerful Guardian Warriors. Quinn had become Dragofin mated, and she wouldn’t have it any other way.

When she couldn’t ravage his body any longer, she laid her head on his chest and listened to his strong heartbeat as he breathed in and out.

“What are you thinking?” he asked, voice full of love.

  “You,” she answered.

  “What about me?”

“About how many adventures we have waiting for us and how many people are never going to have to worry about evil alien invasions because of you and the Dragofin Clan.”

“When you say it like that, it sounds like a pretentious Hollywood blockbuster.”

“No, it doesn’t. You rock and do this every day for real.”

“Yeah, and I hope it remains our small little group’s secret. Now get some rest, my Quinn. You don’t know what you just got yourself into with Miss Connie.”

  “Leave her alone; she’s sweet.”

“She’s an ancient healer used to getting her way. Just don’t agree to let her decorate anything here.”

“Hush up and go to sleep. That woman is precious.”

“Humph,” was the last thing she heard her mate say before deep even breathing claimed him in sleep.

Quinn spent a little more time thinking about all the things she wanted to achieve and do as the mate of the Dragofin Leader. First thing on her agenda would be Operation Wren. Quinn smiled as she remembered how Miss Connie had done a little to help that mating along too. The Seduction of one Ms. Wren Douglas by Mr. Mathias Griffin was in full swing. Yep, that would do nicely. After some sleep and a quick hang out with Miss Connie tomorrow, all her efforts would be focused on producing her greatest production ever, getting her best friend mated to Matt.

Visions of hearts danced in her head as she thought about double dates, being pregnant at the same time, raising their kids together and all the other wonderful things that would come as mates. As she drifted off to sleep, she replayed the utterance that had come to encapsulate a bit of the prophecy.

Listen Dragofin, the time is here, and the oracles have begun. As your mates appear, the war will be won. A captured queen, reveals a wayward rook. The king must move, less the castle be took.

Quin paid special attention to the last part of that utterance as it came back to her: The king must move, less the castle be took. No matter what else happened, Quinn knew that the Dragofin Clan had to find this king.

Watch out Egolars, Mr. Scott, the Paragons and whoever else wanted a piece of the Dragofin Clan Warrior Guardians; there would be no place they could hide. Quinn felt the power of the Sibyl gift growing stronger in her every day. Confidence in the gifts of strategy, reasoning, wisdom, and intuition grew and swirled deep within her. More knowledge came, ready and waiting to be tapped for the next assignment. Yes, it was on. She was pumped.

As the final thoughts materialized before sweet sleep overtook her, Quinn was ready to face the world with Lucien by her side. She and the other mates would help by getting the guys mated to strengthen their numbers. Yes, there were going to be matings all around for the Dragofin Clan.
