She screamed out her release and both of his brothers followed. Stephan teetered a moment and then gripped her hip and the edge of the bed. “Holy God, I can’t see straight.”

Tobias moaned and Chloe lifted up. “Oh God, the bruises.”

  “Are you okay?” she asked.

  “Fine, baby. Just fine.”

Immediately Stephan wrapped an arm around her and hoisted her up. He swung her up into his arms as if she were light as a feather and then lowered her to the bed and lay between her legs.

“Every moment with you is a gift I thought I would never have. This, this is more than perfect. To have you here to love along with my brothers. You complete us, Chloe. I love you.” He pressed his lips to hers and she hugged him tight.

When he released her lips he whispered, “Rest, baby. We got you.”

“So that sexy, gorgeous woman of yours was an agent? Holy fuck,” Goose said to Stephan. Stephan was standing in the study of their new home. Goose, Cameron, Toro, and Monte recently moved to Repose and were planning on opening up a sports bar. They purchased an old barn and small ranch that had been a bit of an eyesore in town.

“No one is ever supposed to know that. She had to change her name and give up her identity.”

“Shit. So who is after her?”

“The one guy who got away.” Stephan began to tell him about the case and his part in it all.

“So you meet, fall in love, don’t even know that you’re both agents, and she winds up in Repose?”

“Thanks to the main agent in charge. Goose, she took three bullets for me. I left her there because I thought she was dead, meanwhile the artillery fire I heard was her shooting up all the bad guys while she bled from those shots. Now this fuck is looking for her.”

  “Are you certain?”

“This is what Brogan explained. It’s also believed that someone from the inside had given Copias the heads up and that was how he got away. It’s amazing that he wasn’t able to grab Chloe then.”

“Well, I’ll need some more information. It may take me some time to figure out where these searches came from. Like the police department, a hospital, government agency, or private server, but I will figure it out. You said the agency had inquiries, so breaking into the federal computer system is a bit harder, but I’ll do it.”

Stephan smiled. “I knew you would. So how are things with the business venture? Did the town accept the idea?”

“Yup. Do you know that Brooklyn showed up in support of it? We were a little worried that she would think we were trying to take business away from her. Some of the locals thought that, too. We actually talked about coming up with shared ideas to promote both of our businesses.”

“That is awesome. She seems like a very kind person who gives back to the community.”

“She sure does, and she had some great design ideas for the bar, too. Toro and Monte got pretty excited about it.”

  “Well, you have our support.”

“So in regards to this, just give me a little time. I’ll work as quickly as I can but I need to be careful. This is touchy territory.”

“Oh, I know, that’s why I thought of you right away.”

  Goose smirked.

“Living on the wild side. It wasn’t me who wanted to retire and settle down yet.”

“Yeah, well, the close calls all you guys had over the years take its psychological toll. Doesn’t matter if you physically don’t want to quit,” said Stephan.

“Yeah, we were over it so much, and then Cameron leaves after the Singapore disaster, winds up a cop here thanks to Cesar. Next thing we know, Monte, Toro, and I are being fucked over and nearly die out there for these assholes. Where the hell is the support for soldiers? It’s gone out the window. You cannot negotiate with enemies who hate Americans and what we stand for. There is no peace agreement.”

“I know. We went through crazy shit, too. I wasn’t even going to continue working that special unit with the government but I couldn’t see myself sitting around twiddling my thumbs. When I took that last case, gave up fourteen months of my life in this role I played, a lot of decisions were made. I could have lost my brothers, my family, and Chloe. She took three fucking bullets for me, and had to do some other shit to protect me. I am not going to fail her.”

Goose smiled. “Well, it’s a damn good thing you are friends with me. We are going to make sure she’s safe.”

  “I’ll owe you big time.”

“You can pay me back by inviting me to the wedding.”

Stephan chuckled and reached out his hand to shake Goose’s. “You got a deal.”

Scottie held Chloe’s hand as they walked along the trails by the park. She leaned into him and hugged his arm as they passed by other people enjoying the warm summer day. She wore a beige skirt that fell just above her knees and a tank top style white blouse. He loved the smell of her shampoo and the feel of having her close and knowing she was his woman to show off.

“It’s so peaceful here during the day. Did you come here when you were a kid and play on those jungle gyms and swings?” she asked him.

He paused by the small park and spotted the new slide and a newer version of the spin sitter.

He ran his hand along her hip and pointed to the sit-n-spin ride.

“That’s not the original stuff, but you see the sit-n-spin? I used to go on that. Stephan or Tobias would spin it as fast as they could and then I would jump off.”

“What? Did you ever get hurt? That’s crazy.”

He nuzzled his mouth next to her neck and ran his other hand up under her hair. “I was always pretty crazy, baby,” he said against her lips then kissed her.

When he released her lips her cheeks were a nice shade of pink.

He ran his hand from her hip to her rear and then back up to her lower back.

“Well, I can see that. You have such a baby face and seem so sweet and calm. Then you shock me with your wild ways and demands.”

“I know you love it like that in bed. You bring it out in me.”

She shyly looked away and he cupped her cheek.

“How about we head back to your place and fix that squeak in your bed.”

She pulled back slightly, looking up into his eyes.

  “My bed doesn’t squeak.”

“It’ll be squeaking in about ten minutes,” he said, glancing at his watch.

She chuckled and gave his arm a slap as she turned from him but he wasn’t letting her go. He pulled her right back, pressed his front to her back, and suckled against her neck. “Come on. Move this ass or there will be hell to pay.” He gave her ass a spank and she gasped and then started walking ahead of him. He caught up, took her hand and brought it to his lips. He kissed her knuckles and they hurried to the truck, laughing along the way.

Scottie’s cell phone rang and he saw that it was Stephan.

He answered it. “Hey, bro, what’s up?”

“Where are you guys? I went back to the house and it was empty.”

“I’m with Chloe at the park but we were going to head to her place.”

“See if you can convince her to move in with us. The sooner the better.”

“Oh, I’m all for that,” he said and looked at Chloe, who squinted at him with suspicion.

“I’ll catch up with the two of you in a little bit. There’s something I need to take care of.”

“No problem. I’ll keep her occupied until you arrive.” He disconnected the call and looked at Chloe.

“Stephan will meet us at your place in a little bit.”

  “What did he say?”

“He wants me to convince you to move in with us and start packing some things.”

“Oh really? Well, maybe I like my house and you four should move in with me.”

“I don’t care either way. Although our place is a lot bigger and we have a lot more property, plus the swimming hole. It would make more sense for you to move in with u
s.”

“Maybe,” she said and then looked away from him. They headed to her house and suddenly the thought of her round and pregnant with their child, then a bunch of little ones running around the place filled his mind.

“Jesus,” he stated aloud and shook his head.

“What’s wrong?” she asked him and reached out to cover his forearm. He felt that instant electrical shock to his system and then the desire—and the love for her. He never had thoughts like this before and it kind of scared him.

“Our house will be the better choice,” he stated firmly as he pulled her along through the parking lot and to his car.

They got into the car and started to head to her place.

  * * * *

“So why is your house a better choice?” she asked and he could tell she was itching to argue as they pulled into her driveway five minutes later. He turned off the ignition and they got out. They headed to her front door. She unlocked it and when he got her inside he pulled her close and hugged her tight, his front against her back.

He whispered next to her ear as he used his palm to caress along her belly then over her mound.

“Our house has more room for all the kids we’re going to have.”

She tightened up, gasped at the same time, and turned to look up at him.

She looked shocked and suddenly he feared that she may not want children.

“You want to have babies with me?” she asked.

He smirked and then faced her and ran his hands along her hips to the back of her skirt, unzipped it and let it fall.

“I want to make babies with you, and I want to see you round and beautiful with our baby in your belly.”

Her eyes filled with tears. “You think I’d make a good mother?” she asked him and it shocked him that she sounded so unsure.

“Are you kidding me? You’d be like a lioness. Protective, loving, firm, soft when you needed to be, and you’d protect those babies with your life and you are more than capable.”

“A lioness, huh?” she asked and ran her palms up under his shirt then back down to the button on his jeans.

  “Yup.”

“Well then, that makes you and your brothers lions.” She pushed his pants down and he lifted her up to straddle his waist.

He growled against her neck, making her laugh and the sound filled him with happiness right down to his soul.

“Want to hear a lion roar, baby?”

She held his gaze and he winked.

“Let’s get to the bedroom because this lion wants his sweet pussy right now.”

“Scottie!” she scolded and he hurried her to the bedroom best he could with his pants hanging around his ankles.

He dropped her onto the bed, pulled off her panties, spread her thighs, and lowered his mouth to her pussy.

She squealed and shook as she tugged on his hair and slapped his shoulder, laughing and moaning. She was shaking so much and he kept growling and sucking on her pussy and clit. Her laughter was infectious and the desire to claim her and be buried deep in her cunt became too difficult to hold back. He lifted up and aligned his cock with her pussy and shoved right in.

They both moaned and then he clasped their fingers together and began a nice steady series of thrusts, keeping eyes glued to one another.

  “I love you, baby.”

  “I love you, too.”

He clenched his teeth and made love to Chloe and imagined her round with their baby, living in their home, and being their wife.

  Chapter 9

  “We found her.”

Copias smiled and leaned back in the office chair. He looked at Pueblo Cruz, who listened to the call on loudspeaker.

“Where is she?” he asked Michael.

“She’s in a small town in Texas called Repose. It’s filled with cops and soldiers, government retirees and shit. I don’t know how to get her out of there.”

“You’ll figure it out or your girlfriend dies.”

“I can’t show up there. Chloe Miller, that’s the name she’s going by, and she’d have too many questions. She’ll suspect something. You know her capabilities, too. I need help.”

“I do know her capabilities. I’m not helping you. I could have been caught in that raid, so you and your little internal affairs bitch better get Celeste out of there. I’ll have a car waiting for you in Dallas, and my people will take care of the rest. Call me when you have her in your possession.” He disconnected the call and looked at Pueblo.

“Feel like taking a trip to the states?” he asked Pueblo.

“Whatever you need, Copias. It will be my pleasure to bring your woman home to you,” he said and bowed.

Copias smiled. “I have a lot of planning to do. Get me Trina and Lucasta. I’ll need them to help set up the cottage in the jungle. Celeste is very resourceful and keeping her in a remote location, mostly restrained, will be the only way for me to break her down and control her. If she does run off I need to know there is no one around the area to help her; I don’t want to be forced to kill anyone and risk exposing my location.”

“I understand. I will have Trina and Lucasta make the arrangements and I will get her to you up there myself.”

“Excellent, and while I am away, I ask that you protect my finances and maintain control of all business affairs. Once Celeste accepts her new life and new position as my wife then we will come back closer to the water.”

  “If she doesn’t accept?”

He looked at Pueblo and held his gaze. “She dies up there in the jungle and if anyone finds her, then her new name will be Jane Doe.”

“I can’t believe how much stuff there is in this store and how big it is. I wasn’t expecting this,” Chloe said to Tessa. They took a ride into Turbank to check out Delia’s boutique, which their friends told them about. She was browsing when her cell phone went off. It was Wallace asking if they got there okay. She texted back that they found it and were safe and shopping. She smiled and then put the phone in her purse.

“One of your men checking up on you?” Tessa asked and smiled.

  “How did you know?”

  “That big goofy smile.”

Chloe gasped. “What big goofy smile?”

Tessa chuckled. “Don’t be embarrassed. I love seeing it. Makes me wish I had some sexy soldiers interested in me. You’re very lucky. They’re so good-looking.”

“Thank you. It’s all new to me though and it takes some time to get used to.”

  “What do you mean?”

“Their protectiveness and just the whole ménage thing. It can feel overwhelming and then absolutely perfect.”

“All the men around Repose are so incredibly good-looking and tough. Even the younger ones, closer to my age seem hard and experienced. It’s weird.”

“Any one in particular catch your eye?” Chloe asked her and took a pretty red dress off the hanger to look at. She watched Tessa stare at a blouse and then reply.

“Not really. A lot of them flirt so I don’t really take most of them seriously. The last thing I need again is some jerk who thinks he’s God’s gift to women.”

“Oh, sounds like a bad experience.”

“Oh, it was bad. Finding my boyfriend in bed with two women definitely caused some scars as well as trust issues. Never mind self-confidence issues and, well, anxiety.”

  “Anxiety?”

“Yeah, I get anxious, nervous, and super snappy when I like a guy or find him attractive. I usually make a mess of things with conversation. It’s crazy and I know I should move on, but I just don’t feel good enough. It’s nuts.”

“It’s not nuts. You were badly hurt and it takes time to heal and trust again. You’re going to compare every guy you meet to him. You’re going to be suspicious and worry that he might cheat in the beginning. That’s not healthy but it is normal.”

“I don’t even want to date anyone.”

“Not even Coastal or Wolf McDaniells?” Chloe teased.

  “O
h God, no. They are huge and so badass. Have you seen all the tattoos and those expressions of theirs? They’re like six feet five and filled with muscles. Look at me. I’m five feet four. They could squash me with one hand,” Tessa carried on.

Chloe reached out and touched her shoulder. “Whoa, honey. Don’t have a panic attack.”

Tessa tightened up and growled with her fists by her side. “See what I mean? I totally freak out. Intimidation galore. I would look like an immature ass if they were ever near me outside of the gym.”

Chloe chuckled and looked to the next rack when something caught her eye. She spotted Michael Crown, her old commander, immediately.

“What’s wrong? Who is that?” Tessa asked.

Chloe shook her head. “I’m sorry, I thought it was someone I knew from New York.”

  “Oh, it’s not then?”

“No. Looks like him, but no.”

“Well, what do you think of this?” she asked and showed Chloe a pretty pale pink dress with little stitching along the trim.

  “Looks kind of youthful.”

  “Youthful is bad?”

“Well, you’re twenty-two and single. You need sexy. Something that shows off your figure,” she told her but then looked back for Michael. He gave a nod toward the back door and she knew he wanted to talk to her. Her heart was racing. Something was wrong. Why else would Michael be here in Texas? How had he even found out where she was?

“I think I’m going to go try these on. How about you?” Tessa asked her.

“I’m still looking. You go ahead.”

“Okay.” Tessa looked at her and smiled then headed to the dressing room with an armful of dresses. It would buy Chloe some time to see why Michael was here. She quickly headed toward the side hallway and back door. He was pacing as she entered. His eyes widened, and he looked her over and then reached for her hand.
