Matt stopped and faced the ocean. He stared out at the rolling sea for a bit. “I guess that when Storm Front gave birth it was much nicer that Robin was there to see the glory of bringing a foal into this world. Sharing something special does bring people closer.”
“Now you got it.” Being able to show Robin how beautiful she was through photographs really hit home for him, too.
“You want to go for a dip?”
There weren’t many brave souls swimming in the winter ocean, but to him the water was almost balmy compared to the rivers they swam in. “You’re on.”
They both raced into the water. The small breakers impeded their speed, but Clay pushed through the waves. When the water lapped at his waist he dove in. “Wahoo! That’s refreshing.”
Matt jumped in and swam past the first line of breakers. “This is awesome all right, but I can do without the salt.” He licked his lips, and Clay burst out laughing.
“You know if we can convince Robin to come live with us, I bet she’ll want to come back and vacation here.”
“You won’t hear a complaint from me.”
“Unless she wants to come in the summer. I think we’d melt.”
“You got that right.”
They swam for a bit, enjoying the buoyancy of the water. Clay was surprised at how much the current dragged them around. When they got back to shore, they decided to head back to their hotel and change. “How about we eat down the street from Robin’s condo. We can watch when she comes home.” It was Friday, and he hoped she didn’t stay too long at work.
“What if she has a date?”
His gut soured. “Let’s figure out what to do if that happens.” He didn’t want to believe Robin had forgotten them so quickly. For him, she was under his skin so deep he’d never be able to let her go.
* * * *
Robin opened her eyes and glanced at the alarm clock. It was 8:38 a.m. She never slept this late on a Saturday. “Ugh.”
From all the tension at work, coupled with her Friday night workout, her body ached. What she needed was a large dose of coffee and a good skate session. Monique had asked her to lunch, and she’d accepted.
After climbing out of bed, she tossed on her workout gear. Since she never ran into anyone she knew on the path, she didn’t bother with much makeup other than her moisturizer that contained her sunscreen.
While the coffee brewed, she heated up a frozen bagel. She rationalized that eating carbohydrates in the morning gave her the energy to workout. Low-carb diets just sucked the life out of her.
By 9:30 a.m. she was ready to head out. She stuffed her cell phone in one pocket and her key and credit card in the other. There were a lot of food stands along the way in case she decided to extend her workout.
In the lobby, she exchanged her sneakers for her skates and asked the concierge to hold her shoes. The old guy was so affable. Having him at the front desk was a real perk. Outside, the day was perfect. The sun was out, and the temperature was a balmy seventy-two with not much humidity, at least for Miami. For the first part of her trek, she skated on the sidewalk, but soon, she cut in toward the beach, where the path was wider. The fresh air helped clear her head but did little to help her heart. She’d gone over her vacation so many times in her mind but still couldn’t figure out why the men had turned so cold during the party.
She skated for an hour and headed back to shower and change for her lunch date with Monique. As she approached her hotel, her cell rang.
“Christ.” It was Brian. “What’s up?” She worked hard to keep her tone even despite being a bit out of breath.
“I’m really sorry to bother you on the weekend, but I just got a call from the boss man.”
“You’re kidding. What did he want?”
Brian outlined that the magazine spread needed to be changed. “It has something to do with one of the models we used having been recently arrested. We have to change his picture.”
“Can’t you do it?” She knew the answer but had to ask.
“No.”
He was the worst assistant ever! “When is it due?”
“You know the ad goes out Monday at 8:00 a.m.”
She so didn’t want to deal with this right now. “Tell him I’ll have it for him on time.” She should call the boss, but that was what assistants were for.
“Okay. Have a nice weekend.”
Right. She shut off the phone and pocketed it. She looked up at the heavens. “Where is Montana when I need it?”
“Ma’am?” The doorman looked a bit perplexed.
“Nothing, Raymond. Just bitching to myself.”
Once inside, she took off her skates and retrieved her shoes. If she wanted to be on time to meet Monique, she needed to hurry. Having been Bella’s assistant for over a year, Monique took over Bella’s position when she got engaged. Since then, she and Monique confided in each other, much like she had with Bella. Not in the mood to dress up, she tossed on her jeans, short boots and a cute top. In case the restaurant was cold, she brought a sweater. As she passed the table in the entryway, she spotted her photos. No one had seen them. Robin was proud of what she looked like and stuffed the copies in her purse.
Monique had picked a restaurant within walking distance of the condo. When she got there, Monique was already seated.
“Hi, girlfriend.” Even though they worked together, she gave her a hug.
Before she lost her nerve, Robin pulled out the envelope. “These are for your eyes only. No one has seen them other than me and the photographer.” She knew Clay had shown them to Matt. “Be careful, they are rated PG or maybe even XXX.”
Monique laughed. When she pulled them out, she immediately slapped the first one to her chest. “Dear Lord in heaven.” She studied each one. “I can’t believe you posed for these.”
Robin’s face heated. “I can’t either, but the photographer was Clay.”
“That’s why you ended up in bed with him. I have to say, these are stunning. You look gorgeous.”
The waiter came by and thankfully Monique hid the incriminating photos. They placed their orders.
“What are you going to do?” Monique asked.
“Do?”
“About Montana.”
Robin blew out a breath. “There is nothing to do. I’m not going there to beg them to take me back.”
“Why not?” That voice came from behind her. She spun around and had to blink three times.
Her stomach flipped and her heart hitched. “Clay? Matt?” That was about all that came out of her mouth.
“Do you two beautiful ladies mind if the two humble Montanans join you?”
She glanced at Monique who had a shit-eating grin on her face. “You knew?”
Monique laughed. “Yes. I’ve been dying to tell you. They contacted me a week ago and they wanted me to let them know where you were at all times.”
“Why?”
Clay and Matt scooted into the other two vacant chairs. “I’ll tell you why. Matt and I wanted to see if you were really happy in Miami. If you were, we were going to head on home and let you live your wonderful life.”
This wasn’t making sense. “But you didn’t go home.” She was blabbering.
“Monique convinced us you don’t have a life here. Matt and I were jerks.” He told her how they thought she enjoyed putting on airs. That was why she dressed in that fancy dress at the going-away party.
Her mouth dropped open. “Let me get this straight. You didn’t ask me to stay because you didn’t like the dress I was wearing?”
Clay picked up her hand. “Now that you put it that way, it does seem stupid.” He shook his head. “We were two idiots in love. We blew it, and we’ve come to make amends.”
Her heart nearly burst. “I don’t know what to say.”
“Say nothing for now. Let’s eat, and we can negotiate later.”
Over lunch, the men regaled Monique with all of their adventures, from ice-skating to shopping to watching a foal being born. T
hey thankfully left out the fact that she’d spent a good portion of her vacation in bed with one or both of them.
Once they finished, Monique stood. “It was so nice to meet you.” She winked. “I’ll let you three have some fun.” As she pushed back her chair, she mimed for Robin to call her.
Clay paid for lunch. “How about we go back to your place? We need to continue this conversation in private.”
The fact they were here meant the world to her, but before she succumbed to their charms, she needed to get a few things straight.
They didn’t have to walk far to her place. “I still can’t believe you’re here.” Maybe this was all a dream and she had wished them to come.
“What we had to say, sugar, couldn’t be discussed over the phone. Besides, we missed you so much, we needed to see you.”
She laughed. “Oh I get it. You think that if you get me naked, I’ll give in to whatever you want.”
Clay had the courtesy to place a hand over his chest. “You wound me. We would never stoop to something so low. Seriously, we want what is best for you. From what we can tell, your life is a mad dash between work and working out. This is the first time in a week that you’ve allowed yourself the luxury of someone else’s company.”
His words made her life seem so empty. To be honest, he was right. Her life was empty.
After she swiped her fob over the panel on front door to her condo, the electric doors automatically opened. After what seemed like a long elevator ride to her floor, they stepped inside her condo. She dropped her purse on the entryway side table.
“Let me show you around.” She walked them into the living room and both men commented on the fabulous view.
“I can see why you like it here.”
She had loved it until she met them. “Can I get you some wine?”
Clay faced her. “Got any beer?”
“Sorry. I don’t entertain much, so I only keep wine for myself.”
“Wine works then.” Clay followed her into the kitchen. “Why don’t you show me where it is and let me serve you?”
She thought maybe their thoughtfulness had been a figment of her imagination. Now she knew they were as wonderful as she’d remembered. “The glasses are in this cabinet.” She pulled out three. “The wine is over there in the wine rack.”
Matt came in and escorted her into the living room. “Clay’s a big boy. He can figure out how to open the wine. Come sit next to me.”
He tugged her closer, and the sense of belonging washed over her. They both sat on the sofa.
Clay brought out two glasses and handed her one and gave one to Matt. “Be right back.”
Matt looked around. “You have nice taste. This place is something else.”
She had paid a lot of money to live here. “I do like it, but your home is equally as comfortable.”
“I’m glad to hear you say that. It’s what we want to talk to you about.”
She figured they’d come to ask her to move to Montana. If they’d asked a few weeks ago, she bet she would have said yes. Now, she wasn’t so sure. She’d had a lot of time to think about life.
Clay returned with his wine and the bottle. He sat across from them. “Matt has some good news he wants to share.”
Matt sipped from the glass. “Remember I told you I planned on getting some land of my own so I can run a ranch to raise Arabians?” She nodded. “Well, Clay here bought it for me.”
Clay waved his glass. “Don’t worry. He’s gonna owe me for his half.”
They both laughed, and the sound soothed her soul. “I’m happy for you.”
Matt leaned forward. “Here’s the thing. We want you there with us.”
She bit down on her lip. “I don’t think I can do that. I realize that to be really happy, I need to work.”
Clay shook his head. “No. You need to have a job that validates you. You have a top-level position at your firm. Everyone looks up to you and needs you. You equate that to happiness, but you’re wrong.”
“You’re now a happiness expert?” She tried to keep her tone light, but he’d just dissed her whole existence.
He raised a hand. “Don’t get me wrong. I’m not saying what you do isn’t important. It is. However, you can find fulfillment in a lot of other ways.”
“That may be true, but I won’t get paid well.”
“Even if you had ten million sitting in the bank, do even have time to spend it? If you did, what would you do with the money?”
Her mind blanked. Without someone to share the money with, there was little point. “I don’t know.”
“My point exactly. Tell me this. Were you happy when you were with us?”
She inhaled, debating whether to tell him the truth. Why not? “Yes. I felt alive for the first time in my life. I didn’t have to worry about what others thought of me. That was refreshing. Plus, being with you two made me happy.”
Matt grabbed her hand. “Then come back with us.”
“What would I do for a job?”
“You don’t need a job.” He inhaled. “Okay, you want to feel useful. I get that. You could help us start a new ranch. I want to breed Arabians. I need to get the word out that this is what I can do. You could help me. The sense of accomplishment would be huge.”
She never thought about what it would take to be breed Arabians. “This is rather overwhelming.”
“I know, darlin’. Take all the time you need.”
She bit down her lip. “I’d have to sell my condo, train a new person, and—”
Matt cut off her litany of her excuses with a mind-blowing kiss. His lips transformed her back to Montana where she had no worries other than how to stay warm. He dropped his mouth to her chin and nibbled. She would have captured his mouth again, except that his warm breath was now cascading over her throat.
“It’s warm in here, darlin’.”
She’d been about to say that she liked to keep it at a constant eighty degrees but then realized he was talking about something entirely different. “You can take off your shirt. That will cool you off.”
His fingers undid the top two buttons of her shirt instead and pressed his lips between her breasts. “Oh, God. I’ve missed these more than you can ever know.”
Out of the corner of her eye, Clay stood. “Sugar, we need to take this someplace else.”
Her panties had already gotten wet thinking about what it would be like to make love to them again. All the excitement of being with her men came rushing back. Her pussy was screaming at her to take them again. Even if she decided to stay in Miami, she had to experience them together. To hell with butt plugs. She wanted both cocks inside her, straining for release.
She slowly extricated herself from Matt’s arms. “Clay is right. We’d be more comfortable in another room.” She took his hand and pulled him to a stand.
She’d taken one step when he swept her into his arms. “I want to show you how much you mean to me.” He bent over and nuzzled her neck.
His devoted attention made her swoon. If he was trying to persuade her to leave Florida, he was doing a heck of a marketing job.
“It’s the second room on the right.”
Her pulse raced. She’d imagined this moment a million times in her mind but never thought she’d actually be able to experience making love to them again.
“Place her on the bed, Matt. Sugar, it’s too bad you don’t have a headboard.”
They sure did like tying her up. “Yeah, too bad. Now I get to run my hands all over your bodies.”
“Not going to happen. We’ve been thinking about you too much. In fact, I printed up a bunch of those naked shots of you and have them framed and hanging on my studio wall.”
She studied his eyes. “Tell me you’re kidding.”
Clay held up three fingers. “Scout’s honor.”
Her face colored. “I’m going ask Bella to sneak in and take them down. I don’t want all of Pleasure to see naked photos of me.”
“They’re dig
ital. I’ll print more. Hell, if you don’t get nekked for us right now, I may have to post them online for world to see.”
Chapter Fourteen
Clay’s cheeks dimpled, and she knew he’d never actually post nude pictures of her. However, she loved playing along. After undoing a few more buttons of her shirt, she stopped. “My fingers are tired. Can one of you handsome cowboys help me out of this?”
Both men approached her. Matt picked her up, and she yelped. “What are you doing?”
Clay grinned. “We’re getting you out of your clothes Montana style.”
Clay pulled off her shoes, unzipped her pants, and undid the rest of the buttons. “You can set her down.”
Matt let her down gently. Matt took the top half and Clay the bottom. Matt removed her shirt but left on her bra, and Clay got rid of her pants, but not her panties. A sixth sense must have been guiding her because she’d worn her nice purple bra and panty set.
“Yowza. You look hot.” Clay lowered one strap on her bra. “Just stand there and let us admire the view.”
Matt moved behind her and lightly dragged down the other strap. He cupped her shoulders with the lightest of touches then lifted her breasts. “I’ve been dreaming of these, darlin’, but they are more perfect than I remember.”
His admission thrilled her more than any compliment from her boss. “I’m glad.”
His fingers massaged her breasts through her bra. She wanted to feel his rough hands on her skin. “Why don’t you take it off?”
While she couldn’t see him, she bet he was smiling. The back popped open, and he slid the bra off. The air conditioning clicked on and pebbled her nipples. Or maybe it was the way Matt was pressing his hard cock into her back that made them pucker. His lips touched her shoulders, causing ripples of excitement down her arms. When he moved to the side and captured one nipple, her legs almost collapsed.
She might have gone down had Clay not gotten on his knees and wrapped his hands around her hips. He placed his face against her belly and inhaled. “You smell so fresh, like peaches and cream.”
