“What do you mean?”

“Suck me like you mean it.”

Mike’s heart sped up and his cock went hard. He glanced down then back up at Tanner. “Really?”

“Yeah, I want it to be the best blow job you’ve ever given.”

Laughter spilled out before he could stop it. “The best?”

Tanner put his thumb over Mike’s lips. “I know you’ll be good. So, get on your knees and show me what you can do.”

“Fuck, are you this way with all the guys?” Mike asked, but didn’t want to know.

“I’ve never…” Tanner trailed off and Mike cupped his cheeks.

“Never?” He couldn’t believe it, but there were little things Tanner had done, how he’d acted, that made Mike believe it. Could he really have been Tanner’s first guy?

“With everything that happened with my dad, then I didn’t want to screw up. And…I’ve never met anyone I wanted as much as I want you.” Tanner’s cheeks turned red and he bit his lower lip. “I’ve watched porn.”

Mike smiled to himself before he lowered and tugged at Tanner’s pants then pulled down his underwear, exposing his cock which was pointing up. Tanner reached down and smoothed his hand over the top of his head down to his cheek.

“Do what you think would feel good. I know I’ll like it,” Tanner whispered.

Mike glanced up, his gaze meeting Tanner’s. His cock twitched and he wondered if just sucking Tanner could get him to come. Usually he didn’t like sucking, but Tanner was so tempting. He leaned forward and licked the tip. Tanner moaned and rocked forward a bit. Then he opened his mouth and let his lips circle the tip before sliding down Tanner’s shaft and back up. He cupped Tanner’s balls, liking how they felt in his hands.

Tanner’s fingers wove through his hair, tugging gently on the strands. He opened wider and sucked more of Tanner in his mouth just as Tanner rocked forward. It was too much and he gagged.

Mike sat on his heels and stared up. “Sorry. It’s been a while. Sucking cock isn’t my thing.”

Tanner lowered and slowly slid his lips over Mike’s. When he stood, a lopsided smile graced his lips. “It’s okay. I won’t thrust. I was a bit excited.”

“Really? You liked it?” Pride filled Mike. Tanner was so freaking sweet. The last blowjob he’d given had ended with the guy trying to beat the crap out of him because he’d gagged too much. The guy said he was terrible at giving head.

“Oh yeah. I’d like to grab you by the ears and fuck your face hard like I’ve seen in porn, but I won’t.”

Mike sucked in a breath as his cock filled out. Tanner had said he’d watched porn, maybe he’d watched the wild stuff.

His cock was poking up straight and he wanted to reach down and stroke himself, but Tanner had told him to prove his skills and he was going to try and please the man.

He leaned in, taking Tanner’s cock in his hand, guiding it to his mouth. He kept his hand around the base as he sucked down so he didn’t get too much shoved into his mouth. His gag reflex was one reason he didn’t really do blowjobs. He liked getting them, but he sucked at giving. Or maybe he’d never been interested in giving them because no one turned him on like this man did. Tanner moaned like he was into it, so maybe he was doing okay.

“So good.” Tanner’s voice came out as a low groan, almost like wood scraping on an old floor.

Tanner’s praise twisted through him, making Mike smile around his cock. He ran his tongue around the ridge near the end and Tanner gasped. Based on Tanner’s reaction, he did it again. Fuck, Tanner was so freaking responsive and he liked it.

Tanner’s fingers tightened in his hair and he felt his body start to shake. The uncontrolled excitement turned Mike on even more. He opened his throat and took more of Tanner’s cock in, pulling back before he gagged.

After a few more exploratory licks, he set up a rhythm that worked for him and didn’t make him gag. Tanner grunted when Mike grabbed his balls again, this time tugging on them. He could tell Tanner was close and he was close too. His cock filled out as he tasted a bit of salty cum from Tanner.

  “Gonna come soon,” Tanner groaned.

Mike licked the ridge again then sucked down. The first of Tanner’s orgasm fired and though he usually didn’t swallow, he did for Tanner. Cum filled his mouth and a little leaked out. Having Tanner’s cock shoved in his mouth, his balls so close, cum dripping down his chin, made Mike so hot he came. He pulled off, swallowed the rest of Tanner’s cum, and then drew in a deep breath. He glanced up, staring at Tanner.

Tanner lowered and licked at the cum on his face before helping him to standing. Their lips met, then mouths opened for a tongue tangling kiss, leaving him breathless and in awe. He’d been with guys before, but this had been better than the others.

Tanner ended the kiss and Mike noticed the smug smile on his face. “What’s that look for?”

  “You liked it.”

  Mike shrugged. “Maybe.”

“Come on, you did. Admit it.” Tanner leaned in, his lips by Mike’s ear. “You came without touching yourself.”

He rolled his eyes and shook his head. “Okay, I liked it a little, maybe.”

Tanner chuckled. “No, you liked it a lot.”

Mike growled then shoved Tanner against the door, his tongue diving in for a taste. They both wrestled around a little until he reached down and cupped Tanner’s balls, holding them gently.

Tanner ended the kiss and lifted his brows. “Thank you.”

“I did like it. I wouldn’t mind sucking you again.” Mike was shocked he’d gotten so into giving head. He guessed his partner really did matter.

“That’s good, because I really like having my cock sucked.”

  “Me too.”

“Then we should get along just fine.”

Mike laughed and held on to Tanner. They hugged then he stepped away. Tanner kicked off his boots and pulled off his socks.

“You made a mess. You got cum on my boots.”

Mike chuckled. “If we were at home, would you make me clean it up?”

“Fuck, that would be sexy.” Tanner leaned in and kissed him. “You know, I could have you get on your knees and lick my boots clean. Maybe I’d have your hands zipped behind your back.” Tanner shivered and he hissed in a breath.

“Hot damn, you’re so fucking sexy with your dirty talk. How much of that porn did you watch?”

Tanner laughed. “Enough. Maybe too much. So would you want to…you know, do stuff. Like the hands bound and on your knees?”

  “I don’t know. I’ve never had anyone ask me to do anything…um. I’ve—I just…I’ve, um…It’s just different.”

Tanner gave him a little kiss before standing straight. “Is something wrong?”

“No.” Mike hitched in a breath. Crazy crap that haunted his past, making his insides twist.

  “You can tell me anything.”

Mike had never met anyone who really meant those words. The guys at the ranch were his best friends—best buddies in the world, but he didn’t tell them how freaky he got with women and a few men. Having Tanner say he wanted to tie him up was a change in pace. It was odd, different. He wasn’t sure he disliked thinking about being the one on his knees, the submissive.

He never did anything those other people didn’t want to do, but he guessed he pushed the envelope sometimes. He’d been an uncaring ass in the past. Heck, he’d been a true fucking jerk. If a woman said no, he complied, but he usually bought time and those people always said yes when dollars were involved. Maybe he’d pushed too hard. But fuck, he wanted to be the one on his knees for Tanner, lapping at his cock, doing as he wished.

“Hey, seriously, Mike, you can tell me anything.”

He shook his head as worry filled him. Would Tanner be repulsed. “I don’t know.”

“Let’s clean up and then we can eat. When the sun goes down and it’s just us, the cookstove, and the snow, you tell me. I swear I’ll never tell another soul.”

  Could he trust
Tanner with this. He trusted Tanner with his life, but could he trust him with his stories.

  Chapter Twelve

Davis felt like the world was coming at him too fast. Ryan had stayed with him all night and through the day. Worry filled him, but also a peace. Before everything had happened in Boston, he’d not really spent any time with his father, now they had a relationship. It was more than just a normal father-son relationship, they were friends and colleagues. There was mutual respect and he liked the way it felt. If his dad passed away now, he would at least have the knowledge they’d grown close and had a good relationship.

“Do you want something to eat?” Ryan asked.

“Yeah, I’ll come with you. He’s out of it. They just gave him more pain medicine so he should be asleep for a while.”

Davis took his hand and they headed to the elevator. The nursing staff and doctors were amazing. He had no doubt Duff was in good hands. Downstairs, they found food and coffee. After a quick call to the ranch, relaying the lack of new information, Ryan convinced Davis to take a walk outside.

“Do you think he’ll make it?” Davis asked.

“I don’t know. Maybe. The first few days are going to be the roughest.”

  “I’m worried.”

  “I know.”

“If he can’t stay at the ranch, what will we do?”

Ryan stopped walking and Davis stopped too. They were standing under the shade of a tall tree. A cold wind whistled down the street and Davis shivered. He thought of Mike and Tanner in Canada then his thoughts drifted to the France operation. The danger they lived with filtered through his mind. Maybe Duff’s condition was because of the ranch stress, but he didn’t think so. The doctor had said it wasn’t just his lifestyle, it was how he was made. There was something wrong with Duff’s heart and there was nothing he could have done to prevent it.

“What do you want to do?” Ryan asked.

  “I’m afraid.”

  “Of what?”

Davis blew out a breath and shook his head. “I don’t know. This life, it’s not what I expected. I mean, heck, meeting you was pure chance. The ranch, I had no clue my dad ran an operation like this. What we do, the people we’ve helped, it’s all so amazing. I don’t want to give it up. I know that if my dad needs to live somewhere else, I’ll have to go. My time at the ranch will be over, and I’m not sure I’m ready to leave.”

  “Then don’t.”

Davis blew out a breath and shook his head. Ryan’s answers were too simple, or maybe he was thinking too complex. “Would you come with me if I had to go?”

Ryan reached up, cupping the back of Davis’ neck. “In a heartbeat. Where you go, I go.”

Davis bit his lower lip. His heart sped up as pleasure filled him. “Okay. I’ve got no clue what I want to do, but I’m glad you’re here for me.”

  “I love you.”

He sighed, knowing he would be okay since his man would stay with him. “Ryan, you’re everything to me.”

“I feel the same way about you.”

They headed inside and he prepared himself before he went back into the ICU. His dad was so close to death it scared him. Once inside the room, he sat beside Duff’s bed and waited. The waiting was so hard. He didn’t know if Duff could live through this. He’d been through so much already, and here he was at the hospital again, this time much worse off. Davis wasn’t sure what the outcome would be, but he knew he and Ryan would be together. Duff was tough, but life had a way of taking the tough and bending their knee. It had happened to Marshal and Zander. It could happen to any of them. This moment was all that mattered. Ryan would stay with him. If it meant leaving the ranch forever, then they would go.

  Chapter Thirteen

Tanner held Mike as they lay on the pullout bed. They were facing the window with the blinds open, staring out into the frozen land. The half-moon shining made the countryside bright as it reflected off the snow. He loved nights like this. He’d not seen many, but he hoped he would at the ranch.

Mike shifted and Tanner kissed the top of his head. Mike was older, but when he thought about it, he really didn’t see the age. Right now, holding Mike, he felt like he was the older of the two.

“I’m not a good person,” Mike said.

Tanner wanted to tell him otherwise, but he needed to listen so he stayed quiet. Mike had a story to tell and he needed to allow the man to tell it without interruption.

“A long time ago I had a girlfriend. She wasn’t the prettiest woman in the world, and she wasn’t the smartest, but I’d been dating her for a while. I guess the next step was to get married. I didn’t want to, but she decided she wanted to be my wife. She set the date, told her friends, bought a dress, and I ran off and joined the army. It was wrong. I left her to face the church full of people alone.”

That was cruel, but from what he knew of Mike, he wouldn’t leave without a reason. Mike was most likely being too harsh on himself.

“Did you ask her to marry you?” Tanner asked.

“No, I didn’t. I just didn’t—okay, I did say no. She kept pushing and pushing.”

  “What happened to her?”

“She felt like she was ruined. My sister was mad. She wasn’t just mad because I joined the service. She was pissed I left this gal at the altar. I just couldn’t get married. It wasn’t for me.”

Tanner cupped Mike’s chin and tilted his head so they were looking at each other. “Babe, what you did wasn’t mean. Sure, you could have handled it differently, but if she forced you into a spot where you had no other alternative, then what could you have done.”

  “I could have insisted.”

“Did you tell her you were excited about getting married?”

“No, I said I wouldn’t do it.” Mike was quiet for a moment before he spoke again. “I’ve slept with plenty of prostitutes. I’ve not been good.”

Tanner stared out at the snow, not wanting to ask, but needing to know. “You ever rape anyone?”

“God no. I’ve paid them to do stuff they probably never would have done otherwise, but no, never rape.”

He waited a moment as silence surrounded them. “What was the worst thing you’ve asked them to do?”

“Have sex with me and another girl. Eat out a girl while I watched. I asked to tie one girl’s hands behind her back while I fucked her. She could have gotten loose though. One guy, I slapped his dick and spanked him.”

Tanner slowly nodded as he thought about the guys on base and how they talked about women. He’d heard unbelievably cruel stories compared to what Mike said he’d done.

“You said you’ve not been good, but the worst you’ve done is nothing compared to what I’ve heard other guys say they do.”

Mike glanced up at him. “I just feel so damn wrong about it. They wouldn’t have done those things had I not paid.”

Tanner adjusted and pulled Mike closer. “I don’t know everything about you, and I don’t know everything you’ve done in your past, but, Mike, I can’t judge you for these things. I’m not sure why you think what you’ve done is so bad. I’m sure we’ve all done things we’re embarrassed about, ashamed of even, but you don’t have to keep beating yourself up for this stuff you think is so bad but isn’t.”

“Leaving the woman at the altar, you don’t think it’s bad?”

Tanner shook his head and then cupped Mike’s cheeks. “You didn’t ask her to marry you. Maybe you should have been a little more upfront with her, but you didn’t make her do those things like buying a dress and inviting everyone.”

“My sister has never let it go. Every time I’ve ever talked to her, she’s brought it up, like I need to keep paying for the sin of leaving this girl at the church.”

“Have you talked to her recently?”

Mike shook his head. “No. The last time I called she was still ranting about the damn wedding. I couldn’t take it anymore and told her to shut up. She told me to fuck off and die so I stopped calling. She doesn’t know where I am now.”<

“Well, you can’t tell her where you are, but I guess you could send a letter.”

Mike frowned. “I don’t think so. I mean, the guys I see as my brothers are all at the ranch. I guess Suz will be my sister now.”

“Yeah, she’s a good sister too.”

Mike settled on the bed and snuggled close. “We should get some sleep. We need to head out early. It’s going to be rough walking. In good weather, we would have a couple of hours. In bad, with the snow on the ground, it’ll take much longer.”

“Sure.” Tanner stretched out beside him. “We’ll set an alarm and wake early. Is the battery on the phone running low?”

“Yeah, we didn’t expect to be here this long. I thought we would be able to make it to James’ place and charge the phone.”

“What if we don’t check in for a few days?”

Mike thought about it for a few seconds. “They’ll send someone up to trace our path. We’ll need to leave clues so they don’t get lost. Matthew knows we’re in a cabin close to James’ place. We should have a few hours’ talk time, but if it takes too long, though the phone is off, it could mean we won’t have any battery life left.”

Tanner stared out at the snow. It was going to be rough hiking through the drifts. He prayed the path to James and Brody’s place wasn’t too bad. If they ended up stranded, he wasn’t sure what they would do. They had a tent, sleeping bags, clothes, stuff for starting a fire, but neither of them had thought they would end up in a blizzard. Snow like this wasn’t supposed to have happened. But it was the weather and who knew what was going to happen when snow decided to fall.

  “You ready to sleep?”

“Sure am. But first, I need one more kiss.”

Tanner chuckled and leaned in, brushing his lips over Mike’s. He really liked this guy. He prayed they could actually make a go of it. Mike had already displayed some interesting attitudes about relationships, but he guessed he understood. The man was forty and had never been in a long-term relationship. Having to go through what that woman did to him would have screwed up the heartiest of souls. He couldn’t imagine having to deal with some nut trying to force him into marriage. Life was hard enough without being manipulated. Heck, what his dad had done had screwed him up. He’d not even kissed a guy until Mike.
