He searched the parking lot before he opened his door and went inside. He returned a few minutes later and went back to his car. Checking Serenity, he pulled around to the back of the motel and parked in the shadows. Gathering her in his arms, he carried her to the door of their room and opened it.
He carried her over to the bed and laid her down. Then he went over to the door, closed it, made sure it was double locked and the safety chain was attached. Then he went back over to the bed and laid down. He kicked off his shoes and stretched out. Gathering Serenity in his arms, he closed his eyes and sighed.
She fit into his arms like she was made for him. Her natural scent was a light floral mix like a garden full of flowers. Taking a deep breath, he snuggled in closer and fell asleep, surrounded by the essence of her.
A few hours later, Serenity woke from her sleep and for a moment, she was confused. She didn’t know where she was or why for the first time in forever she was warm and felt safe. The feeling was so alien to her, she wondered if she had finally succumbed into the arms of death.
Then she heard a slight snore behind her head and pulled away from the sound. Eyes widening she found herself looking at the man she knew as Nicky and he was sleeping at her back.
She peeked around the room and in the later afternoon light, she could see they were in a motel room. Where they were, she had no idea. She’d fallen asleep earlier in their mad dash away from his father’s casino and for some reason, she had trusted him to keep her safe.
She laid back down and wondered why she trusted this one man when she had never trusted anyone in her whole life. Every time she looked in the mirror, she could see for herself that she was different from everyone else. Her white skin and hair made her stand out but it was her pale silver eyes that really set her off the charts. People would stare at her in horror.
To her shame, she had overheard the nuns talking about the day she was born. Her young unmarried mother had been at the hospital ready to give birth her but the moment she’d seen her child, she’d freaked out. It hadn’t been Serenity’s fault that she had been born without the normal pigment most people had.
She had been told time and time again both her parents had a flawed gene and when they created her, she carried their flawed genes. It was complicated to explain as the doctors had told her every time she asked, too complicated to explain to a child.
It had been hard to accept that because she looked different she would never have any friends and people would look at her like she would cast a spell on them. She learned through years of hurt and being made fun of that it was better for her to just stay away from other people.
Even the nuns at the orphanage had treated her differently. One of them, Sister Margret had been called out on more than one occasion for shaking her head and telling the others that she felt Serenity should been have been allowed to die at birth.
Serenity had been hiding when she heard the words Sisters Margret and Anne had been speaking but they still hurt. She often hid in the upper chambers of the sanctuary from the cruelty of the others or just needed to get away from the kids’ teasing her. No one ever stopped them from calling her names. She just needed a peaceful place to gather her thoughts and the day she heard this, Margret and Anna were just coming back from evening prayers.
She knew Nicky was different from most people. From the moment they met in person, he didn’t look at her like she was a freak, he didn’t even turn away from her, instead he looked directly into her eyes. She hadn’t seen the distaste everyone else looked at her with and he had actually wanted to protect her against his father.
Serenity shuddered slightly at the thought of his father. The man had been brutal and she had seen the rage and disgust in that man’s eyes. That look had hurt more than any physical hurt. Serenity closed her eyes and remembered that look. Tears ran down her cheeks and she couldn’t stop them. Soft sobs racked her body and she couldn’t understand how this was affecting her so much at the moment. She thought she had cried her last tears a long time ago.
At some point, she became aware of the fact that Nicky was awake. His arms still held her gently but now instead of just being wrapped around her, he held her more securely. She stiffened as she swiped the tears away from her cheeks.
“Are you ok?” he whispered in her ear.
Serenity nodded but didn’t say anything.
“Are you sure?” he asked softly.
Serenity paused then nodded slowly. “Yeah, I’m ok, or I will be in a few days.”
“I’m so sorry he hurt you.” Nicky shook his head slightly. “He had no right to do what he did.”
“I’ve survived worse,” she reminded him emotionlessly. “He never actually hit me, he shook me and the bruises on my arms are his. Bruises look worse on my skin but they fade over time.”
Nicky hesitated then said, “Yeah, but some blows never go away do they? Sometimes they don’t have to even touch you, yet you remember them with the most pain. Those are the ones that bruise your soul.”
Serenity slowly shifted and lifted her face to his. She saw what his words had cost him in his haunted eyes. Lifting her hand to his cheek, she dared to touch his warm skin. “What does a man like you know about that kind of hurt?” she whispered.
“I know a lot about that kind of pain. I grew up living a different kind of life, but I had my sister to cover my back. I have a feeling you did it on your own.”
Serenity nodded. “The only one who ever believed in me was me.”
“Well now, you got me too. I’ll cover your back.” He smiled.
Serenity stared at him for a moment, then had to ask, “Why? Why would you believe in me? Why would you even want to cover my back? You don’t know me.”
Nicky grinned. “I think we have a lot more in common than you think.” Then his smile slid off his face as he admitted, “I don’t know why really but when I got your message in the chatroom, I just felt a connection. I knew you could have been luring me into a trap. You could have had an army at your back and you could have killed me or ransomed me back to my father. You could have done just about anything but when I read your plea for help, I had to come.”
Serenity stared at him in awe. “You tried to protect me from your father,” she stated as she smiled. “No one has ever done that before.”
“Well, they should have.” Nicky growled. Lifting his hand, he traced some of the bruises on her arms. “He never should have laid his hands on you.”
She lifted her fingers and laid them on his lips. When he didn’t flinch, she looked at him in surprise. “I survived, that’s all that matters.”
Nicky felt her soft touch and felt his body quicken. To avoid embarrassment, he looked around at the room, more importantly, he looked at the drapes drawn at the windows. It was late afternoon as best he could tell. Looking back at her he asked, “Do you want to grab a shower then we can order something to eat?”
Serenity nodded slowly. “That sounds good.”
Nicky got up and stretched his body. The nap had refreshed him and waking up with her in his arms had revitalized him as well. “I have to go out to the car and get the bags I brought along.”
She nodded and watched as he made his way to the door. When he disappeared, she couldn’t help but wonder if he would come back. For a moment, she gave into her fears that she would never see him again. She thought about that for a moment, as she didn’t have a clue as to where they even were now.
Then she heard a knock at the door. When she stumbled to the door and looked out the peephole, she grinned and quickly opened it.
Nicky came back into the room with his arms loaded down with luggage and a large messenger bag.
He set the luggage at the end of the beg then tossed the messenger bag on the bed. Turning to look at her, he noticed the look on her face. He cocked his head to one side and studied her for a moment. “What? Did you think I wasn’t coming back?” he asked softly.
Serenity looked at the floor for a moment then no
dded. “Yeah, I guess I did,” she admitted softly. “I’m sorry.”
Nicky sighed and gathered her into his arms. Titling her chin up to his he stated, “I told you, I’ve got your back. I’m not walking away from you, not now, not ever. I know you have no reason to trust me yet but one day, you will. One day, you know if I ever leave you, that I’ll come back for you.”
Serenity looked into his eyes for any sign of insincerity but didn’t find any. “Ok.”
Nicky quickly kissed the top of her head then let her go to lift one of the suitcases to the bed where he quickly opened it and began to rustle through the clothing he had packed. He took out a pair of pajama bottoms and a t-shirt. He handed them to her. “I’m sorry I don’t have any clothes for you yet but these should work for now.”
Serenity took the clothes and nodded. “Thank you. These are fine.”
“I saw a Walmart across the street. After we get cleaned up, I’ll go over and pick up some things for you. If they have a deli, I can pick up some food as well.”
Serenity nodded.” Do you want first shower?”
Nicky shook his head. “No you go ahead. I can wait.”
Serenity took a few steps toward the bathroom She felt a weakness in her right leg. Then she remembered Z had kicked her hard in that leg and she hadn’t used it much since then. Putting pressure on it now hurt, but she straightened her back and walked slowly toward the door.
Nicky watched her, he could see her flinch and he seemed to get angry. He scooped her into his arms, and carried her over to the bathroom. He sat her on the stool and took a step back. “Why didn’t you tell me you needed help to walk?”
“I didn’t know,” she admitted. “So much has happened in the past few days, I forgot that Z kicked me.”
He leaned his head down to look at her. “Zhora did this to you? Not my father?”
She nodded. “I haven’t been moving around a lot the last week or so. This is from the last time I saw Z. Your father may have pushed me around but he didn’t do this.”
“Well, tell me next time ok?” Nicky asked her softly.
She nodded. He set her down on the floor and began disrobing. “What are you doing?” she asked in a panic.
“I’m not letting you shower alone,” he told her.
“Well I’m not showering with you,” she told him in no uncertain terms.
Nicky knelt in front of her and gazed into her eyes.
She looked at him and waited for him to speak.
“Sweetness, I know you may feel uncomfortable with me, but I don’t want you to hurt yourself again. I’m not going to try anything sexual with you. You need to heal before we can try that, even if you’re interested. But you need to shower off the stink of what Z and my father did to you.”
Serenity lifted her hand and cupped his jaw. “No one has ever been interested in me sexually before. People don’t usually want to even be around me. They’re afraid to even touch me. They think because of the way I look I might have some terrible disease that they could catch.” She paused as it just dawned her what he’d said. “Are you saying you want me? Sexually, I mean?”
He took her hand off his cheek and pulled it down to his underwear. Her eyes widened when she felt his hard cock straining against her hand. “I think its safe to say I want you.” He chuckled softly.
Serenity’s eyes rounded at the feel of his manhood in her hand. She marveled in the feel and the texture of him. Her hand crept up to his belly and then his chest. She could feel the muscles ripple at her touch and she quickly looked at his eyes but there was no disgust there, only pleasure and lust. “Why?” she asked him in an awed whisper.
“Why what?” he asked perplexed. “You are a beautiful woman, isn’t that enough?”
Serenity almost jumped in shock at his words.
“I take it no one has ever called you beautiful before either?”
She shook her head and looked away.
Nicky reached out and turned her head toward him again. “Well, I think you’re lovely. Your skin is so pale its almost translucent. And your eyes glow when you get mad. Don’t get me started on your hair, it feels like a fine silk.” He leaned in close to her ear and said, “And you smell divine, like wildflowers and cinnamon.”
Serenity ducked her head and looked away. She refused to believe this. He was just teasing her. He had to be.
Nicky just smiled and got up to turn on the water.
Serenity stood and began stripping off her own clothing. When she removed her t-shirt, she heard him gasp. Looking up she noticed where Nicky’s eyes had gone.
Her diaphragm had a fist size bruise on it. A very big sized fist bruise, one that was beginning to fade but at the moment was still visible. Nicky didn’t say a thing as he watched her undress. When she pulled off her pants he looked to her right leg. Wincing at the size and shape of the bruise he found there, he knelt in front of her again and looked over the bruise. He could clearly see the tread of the boot Z had been wearing and he knew a rage like no other. He felt her tug on his hair. When he looked up at her she smiled warmly.
“The bruises will fade in time and most can be forgotten if not forgiven. I have a feeling that karma is going to bitch slap Z for all the bad things he’s done in his life.” Shrugging she told him, “Well, we can hope anyway. I have a feeling that man has a lot to answer for and if I’m not wrong, there’s a place in hell waiting for him to come home.”
“Come on lets get you in the shower.” Nicky held in his rage and held out his hand.
When she walked past him and he got a good look at her back he growled. Serenity paused and held her breath and stared straight ahead as she entered the shower, when he entered and stood at her back Serenity was trembling. Only this wasn’t fear but rather anticipation making her heart pound in her chest.
Nicky growled as he began tracing the welts on her back.
Serenity hung her head and felt the warm water wash over her head. When he didn’t say anything, she began to relax.
The combination of the hot water and Nicky standing naked behind her gave way to possibilities she never dreamed about before. Biting her bottom lip, she let the water pour over her. Turning her head a little, she caught sight of him looking at her backside.
She couldn’t help herself, “What are you doing?” she asked.
Nicky looked up and red stained his cheeks. His eyes looked glazed and he answered without thinking, “Admiring your ass. It is a thing of beauty.”
Serenity turned back and giggled under her breath. How amazing. He really looks attracted to me. Then she spotted the soap and she got an idea. She soaped up her front then turned and stood facing him for a moment. She could see Nicky’s eyes glaze over again and that gave her the courage to move toward him.
She got as close as she could without actually touching him, then raised her soapy hands and began rubbing them over his skin. The smooth glide of her hands allowed her to feel him, really feel him. His skin was rippled with muscles as the tips of her fingers moved over his chest and abs slowly.
Nicky tilted his head back and groaned as her hands touched him. He went to grab her hips and his hands slipped going behind her. The only non-slippery part of her was her ass and his fingers bit deep into her globes.
He moaned and pulled her closer. Moving her around, he coated his own body with her soapy body. Then it was her turn to moan as she felt the friction of another body against hers for the first time in her life.
She looked up at him and found him watching her with narrowed eyes. She smiled and touched her mouth to his. Nicky grabbed her closer and crushed her mouth with his own. She gasped at the touch of him as he swept his tongue into her mouth and they both groaned as they kissed deeply.
Nicky semi lifted her high enough to grind his cock into her pelvis. “Damn woman, I want you. I want to be inside you so bad, you won’t know where you end, and I begin.”
“Then take me,” Serenity told him breathlessly.
Nicky back
ed her under the water and allowed the hot water to rinse the soap off them both then he grabbed a towel and began drying her. His hands, lips and teeth visited every place on her body.
His touch made her feel things she’d never felt before.
Then as if he couldn’t stand it anymore, he threw the towel down on the floor and wrapping his arms around her he picked her up to carry her back to the bed. Holding her close to him with one hand he pushed the covers back with the other.
Laying her gently on the bed, he stood there and admired her body briefly then joined her. With his hands and his mouth, he paid homage to her body. Spreading tiny kisses down her neck he covered her chest with kisses and licks. When he touched the roundness of her breasts, Nicky couldn’t help but groan. She tasted wonderful. Her skin might be unearthly pale but it almost glowed as he made his way to the tips of her breast.
Her nipples were almost the same color as her skin but he could see a slight difference. But that didn’t matter to Nicky. He loved the feel of her skin, the slight tangy taste of her. He kissed his way down her belly until he got to her core.
He looked down at her glistening core. Those soft white curls covering her lips were soaked and he ran his tongue along her slit. Her cream burst on his tongue and he groaned as he tasted her. His fingers gently opened her for his tongue and his fingers.
Serenity grabbed his head and ground him to her. Pleasure assaulted her entire being. Waves of passion washed over her and she could feel her body building up to something. Then he pushed a finger up inside her.
He lifted off her and kissed her again. Pulling back a little, he had a glazed look in his eyes as he whispered, “I can’t wait any more. I need to be inside you.”
She looked up at him and slowly opened her legs for him. “I need you, I need to feel you inside me too.”
Nicky slipped into place and lined his cock at her opening. He closed his eyes as he felt cock head nudge her core. “I’m sorry if this hurts, but it won’t hurt for long. I’ll make it up to you I promise.”
