It was a gentle reminder that my presence and my bearing could be larger than life, but Silver in her tiny, delicate stature could easily be crushed. It was my responsibility to handle her with tenderness and love and protect the precious treasure that was about to become my wife.

“Ladies and gentlemen, family and friends, we come together on this day to witness the union of Kole and Eun in holy matrimony as they embark upon an excursion of joining their lives together. Starting this day forward, they will forever be one,” Pastor Long stated.

I looked down at my bride, whose sparkling eyes were glistening with unshed tears as she stared up at me, a gentle smile on her soft lips.

“Marriage is the first relationship ever formed and the most important union in the eyes of God and man. No other relationship should come before this, and that’s why today we celebrate the sacred commitment Kole and Eun are preparing to make,” Pastor Long said.

I clasped her hand tightly in mine as the pastor invited everyone to bow their heads in prayer. As he prayed, my mind began to wander down the tumultuous road we traveled to this day. Perhaps, I always knew in some manner that we belonged to each other, destined to be one.

When his prayer was complete, Pastor Long charged us with exchanging our vows. At Silver’s urging, we had written our vows. This simple task to her was a struggle for me, one that I hadn’t embraced until two nights prior when my heart and mind aligned knowing what I would say.

“Silver, when we first agreed to write our vows, I was filled with trepidation.”

Everyone laughed, and Silver’s eyes grew wide as she covered her laughter behind one of her hands.

“It wasn’t because my feelings weren’t strong enough or that you weren’t worthy of the time it would take. I didn’t think there was enough time to express how I felt. But two nights ago, we were sitting at my parents’ house on the deck. The stars twinkled overhead, music played on the speakers, and my dad was fixing the lights strung through the trees after my mom had fussed at him long enough.”

Again there was another round of laughter and a smile in Silver’s eyes as she recalled the moment I referenced.

“At that moment, I understood what I wanted from you. It was more than being your provider, loving and cherishing you, and being by your side in the good and bad, and in sickness and health. It is not a promise that I look forward to but the privilege of looking forward to days and nights like that. I promise in times of insecurity and doubt to step in and protect you. And while we have no idea what tomorrow holds and what challenges will arise, I promise that I’ll be there to pull you into my arms and never let go. I promise to treat my commitment to you as an honor and a privilege to care for and protect you all the days of our lives, Silver.”

Tears were falling down her face, and her breathing had grown deeper in her chest. I worried if she would make it through the remainder of the ceremony because she had grown so emotional.

Her sister, Sue, who was her matron of honor, held out a tissue. But before she could accept it, I had removed my handkerchief from my pocket and was dabbing at her eyes, mindful not to mess up her carefully applied makeup.

“And I look forward to being here to dry any tears that may ever come to your eyes,” I said.

Everyone in the crowd and the women in the bridal party “awwed,” causing Silver to laugh.

It took a few moments for her to get herself together, but when she did, she spoke her vows in a loud, clear voice.

“Kole, when I met you, I was scared of the world. But you pushed me to take a chance on me. You taught me not to be scared but to believe in myself and to meet the world at its front door. It’s because you believe in me that I’ve stepped out to grasp hold of my dreams. And it is because of the belief that I have in you that I stand here today ready to walk this life journey with you. Because of my love for you and my belief in you, I promise to stand strong and in faith no matter what comes as long as I’m gifted with the opportunity to do it by your side.”

Once our vows concluded, Silver bowed to me twice with the assistance of her sister, Sue, and her friend, Kesha, who was one of her bridesmaids. Then I bowed once, and she bowed twice more. After my next bow, she finished it with two more bows. The ritual represented our homage to our union and our vow to respect one another for the remainder of our lives.

Then we kneeled before a small table upon which two attendants set two cups of wine before us. Raising them above us, we pledged to Almighty God to satisfy our commitment as husband and wife to one another. We poured our wine into small tin buckets provided by our attendants before refilling the cups and then made a vow to one another before drinking from the cups. Our attendants set a gourd that was split in two and filled with wine before us. I knew from conversation beforehand that her mother grew the gourd.

Silver and I drank from the gourd as a representation of our selves becoming one unit. Each half of the broken gourd represented that only one other half of that gourd exists anywhere in the world, and the two of them united forms a whole.

When the ceremony was complete, we stood and turned to our guests and bowed, thanking them for coming to celebrate our union.

KOLE’S DECISION TO welcome the traditions of my family into our wedding was an honor. As I danced with my groom to Juvenile’s Back That Azz Up, I was glad we also incorporated some of his family’s traditions. According to my culture, once the ceremony is complete, the next phase is paebaek, which is for family only. The service is an official welcoming of me into his family. We wouldn’t implement that into our wedding.

Family and friends attended our reception, and everyone enjoyed themselves. Kole’s sister, Lauryn, taught me a few dance moves leading up to the wedding, so I was confident I was holding my own. Every now and then, I would catch Kole laughing at me, but when I’d question him, he’d just say “nothing.”

“What’s so funny?” I asked again, turning to face him when the song went off.

“Who taught you to dance?” he asked, pulling me close in his arms as a slow song came on.

“Your sister. You know she did. What’s wrong with my dance moves?” I asked giggling.

“Nothing, babe. You just look like you’re having sex with every damned thing you do.”

“Or could that be your perverted mind?” I asked, looking up at my husband.

I felt a warm rush flow through me as I thought about him in that way; “my husband.”

“Not really. Now, what are you smiling about?” Kole asked, his eyebrows dipping slightly.

“Just thinking how turned on I get every time I think of you as my husband,” I said.

He tossed his head back, laughing. Lowering his head again, he kissed my neck. “I can do something about that, you know.”

“Mm-hmm, but again we’ll have to wait until the party’s over.”

“Nah, I recall last year this time we didn’t wait for the party to end. I had a special surprise for you then, and I might just have one now, too,” Kole said.

“Really?” I asked, looking up at him fondly.

“Uh-huh,” he said, licking his lips.

I realized what he was referencing, and I laughed. “No, sir. You need to stop doing that stuff with your lips, Kole.”

“What stuff?” he asked, his dark eyes growing darker.

  “Licking your lips like that.”

“I’m just licking my lips,” he said, his hands dropping to squeeze my ass.

“Kole! Your parents are probably watching,” I hissed, my face flushing with embarrassment.

“So. My parents know what happens on wedding days. Everyone that sees us tonight knows I’m ‘bout to tear this ass up. Including your parents,” he said.

“See, when you’re licking your lips and saying stuff to me like that, you’re making my panties wet, Kole.”

“That’s all I’m saying. No one’s looking; we can sneak away now,” Kole said.

“People are always watching the bride and the groom,” I
said.

And as if to prove my point, his brother Darnell and his wife, Gina, danced up to us. Darnell and Gina had a cute little two-year-old boy who looked just like Darnell and was named after him. Everyone called him DJ, and now Gina was pregnant again. Gina finally married Darnell seven months ago in a quiet ceremony in Kole’s parents' backyard. Later than their originally scheduled date.

Thankfully, Darnell had finally gotten his act together.

“Aye, let me holla at my brother for a minute,” Darnell said, releasing Gina as Bey’s Single Ladies started.

Looking at Kole and then at Darnell, I shook my head and said, “okay.”

“Y’all two look horny,” Gina said, scrunching her nose up at me and laughing as we watched the two men disappear from the room.

She and I danced on the floor with one another as we talked.

“It’s fine. I know we have to entertain our guests before we can please each other. Besides, Kole stays horny,” I said.

Gina laughed. “Honey, he sounds just like his brother. But look, as your new sister-in-law, I’m going to offer you a word of advice. This reception is bound to go on for at least another couple of hours. Since this is your and Kole’s special night, you can make your own rules. You don’t have to follow the guidelines your planner set, you know.”

“I know, it’s just that she’s done such a wonderful job for today. I just want everything to go as smoothly as possible. I’ll have my turn,” I said.

Although she was right, I was horny for Kole. I’d wanted to jump him since I first laid eyes on him at the ceremony. And now that he was dancing on me the way he was, my cunt was dripping.

“You’d better take it whenever you can. That’s the fun of being married. Besides, Kole’s big ass becomes aggressive whenever he seems to be needing you,” she joked.

“Well, actually, he does,” she said.

I spotted Darnell entering the reception hall alone, heading for the bridal table.

Gina grabbed my hand, whisking me off the dance floor.

Laughing, I said, “What are you doing?” I asked.

“Trust me, girl, just follow and ask no questions,” she said, as we both teetered from the reception hall on high heels and made our way around the corner.

Gina stopped in front of the door of a small conference room where I changed earlier from my wedding gown into the hot little short and skirt combo I wore now.

“Girl, step in here for a second and get some quiet time. You look tired as hell,” she said, pushing me into the room and stepping back out again.

I was baffled as she closed the door. I spun around, turning my back on the closed door.

“Oh my gosh! You scared the shit out of me!” I said, watching Kole, who sat in a chair at the rear of the room, looking devilish and sexy, as hell.

His tie undone, he held a glass of wine in his hand

“Take that off,” he said, pointing at me with his glass of wine as I made my way to him.

Hastily, I reached behind me to unzip my ensemble. Within seconds, I stood before my husband in white mesh and lace panties and bra.

Kole reached between my thighs, unsnapping the restraints of my garter. One large, dark hand ran up my leg and wrapped around to the rear.

His deep sigh was content and impatient at once as he fingered my asshole, plucking the thong out.

“Lift your foot,” he instructed as he pulled my panties down.

Obeying him, I watched as he removed one leg and then the next from my panties.

Turning his glass up, Kole finished off the remnants of his wine and set the empty glass on the table. He fingered me with his thumb before removing it and licking my juices off his thumb.

  “You look so beautiful, Sil.”

Smiling, I dropped to my knees. Kole’s hand rested on my shoulder.

  “What are you doing, girl?”

“What I’ve wanted to do all evening,” I said, unzipping his pants.

  “Slow down, Sil.”

“No,” I said, eagerly reaching inside and pulling his dick out. “It’s your turn to obey me,” I said.

“Babe, you can do this ano—”

Greedily I wrapped my lips around his dick and took pleasure in his hiss, knowing he’d lost his train of thought.

It was seldom Kole broke off mid-sentence, but I had him right where I wanted him. Loving the smooth feel of his dick in my mouth. My tongue ran along the underside of it, playing with the thick vein underneath.

Kole fisted my hair, freeing it from its chignon. Both of his large hands gripped the side of my head as his hips rose to meet my mouth.

It never ceased to amaze me how much power I could yield over this large man.

Removing one of his hands from my hair, he banged a fist against the table beside me.

“Stop,” he managed to eke out.

“Hmwhw?” I murmured around his dick.

Closing his eyes tight, he clenched his teeth and said, “Stop,” pushing me away from him.

Pushing his pants down around his ankles, Kole pulled me up onto his lap before I could speak another word. My hands planted on his knees, and my back against his chest, slowly, I slid down his dick, gasping as my body stretched to accommodate him.

“Baby, this is all I’ve wanted all day,” he groaned as his lips pressed against my back.

Unhooking the clasps of my bra in the back, he slowly pulled it down my arms, his hands moving to the front to cup my breasts as they poured from the bra. Kole’s fingers teased my nipples, pebbling them as they strained against his hands.

My body wanted and needed more of him, yearning for him to fill every orifice. As his fingers twisted and tugged my nipples, his mouth pressed against my back. His kisses started soft but quickly changed as his teeth nipped at my skin, and his hot tongue lapped at the cool surface of my back.

It was a struggle to remain focused on what I was doing as I slid up and down, riding his cock as he released a gamut of emotions inside me.

“Kole!” I screamed as I felt myself cum all around him, unable to hold on a moment longer.

His hand grabbed my hair that swung freely around and jerked my head back. His lips came to my neck, licking and kissing until he made his way to my mouth.

Swallowing my ecstatic cries and whimpering, he slowed my movements around his dick. And when the kiss ended, I faced forward again, free to slide up and down him once more. Gripping his knees, I clenched around him again as he grasped my hips tightly, lifting from the chair and slamming into me.

Within seconds, Kole finished, a low guttural groan releasing from his throat.

We sat in the chair for a few more seconds, catching our breaths.

I slid off him and looked around for something to clean ourselves. Spotting a roll of paper towels, I grabbed them and wiped my husband’s dick free of my juices before doing the same for myself.

Kole quickly pulled his pants up, fixing his clothing to its former state. When my turn came, he took his time dressing me again, touching me in places he knew would get me worked up again.

“Why’re you starting something again, Kole,” I purred.

“Just getting you ready for what’s to come tonight when we break up out of this place,” he said, pressing a kiss to my lips and pulling me into his arms.

“Don’t you think we’ll be too tired?”

We’d had a long day of festivities and had a flight out in the morning to the Amalfi Coast in Italy.

“I’ll never be too tired to taste you, Mrs. Smith,” he said with a low throaty growl, gripping my ass.

A knock at the door startled me and had me pulling out of his arms.

“What’re you worried about? We don’t work together anymore, and you’re my wife now. We ain’t gotta remain hidden,” he said, pulling me back to him.

Wrapping his arms around me, he kissed the side of my neck as the knock came again.

  “We’ve got to answer that.”

  “Nope, all we’ve go
t to do is enjoy each other,” he said into the side of my neck again.

“Kooole,” I whined, pulling away to unlock the door.

Luis Andre stood on the other side, clapping his hands against the sides of his face.

“Oh, dear! Your look is absolutely ruined, and we’ve been looking for you to do the bouquet toss,” he said.

Kole stepped up behind me, glowering at Luis Andre.

“Oh, dear, I’ve interrupted something I see,” Luis Andre said.

Looking back at Kole, I said, “Just another hour, babe.”

“Yeah, yeah, yeah,” Kole grumbled good-naturedly.

Luis Andre rushed away, and I turned back to look at Kole, who burst into laughter.

Yes, this would be the state of our lives, always needing to make one another a priority in a world full of distractions.

  SNEAK PEEK AT HARMONY

“Come on, just one more pic,” I said, angling my camera to capture my girls and me.

“Girl, don’t tag my ass on IG. I told Tony that I was going to your place to go over the final edits for the manuscript I’m working on,” Aaliyah said, leaning into the camera and puckering her lips.

“His ass knows you’re not at Gianna’s, just like you know he’s not working late,” our friend Dior said.

“What the hell is that supposed to mean?” Aaliyah asked, lifting an eyebrow, and glaring at Dior just when I snapped the picture.

“I’m just saying, Aaliyah. You know that crazy-ass man of yours is probably sitting in the parking lot right now. He’s going to wait until we walk up out of here and call or text you to tell you how much he misses you and let you know he’s on the way to you right now. Then your lame ass will have a lie ready for him, and he’ll let you keep lying until you see each other again. He’ll be pissed, you’ll be begging for his forgiveness, y’all will have crazy ass makeup sex and do it over again,” Dior said.
