“Yeah, and you ain’t done shit to help me, so either you give me some pussy, or I tell ya boy I fucked you when you were a professional hoe.” I couldn’t even comprehend what Flow was saying as I watched some big tall ass scary man come up from behind him.
“Excuse me, patna. I need—”
“Nah, you need to back the fuck up!” Flow hissed, turning to face the man. I’d never seen him, but the way he looked into my soul damn near as he strolled up, gave me an idea: Bull.
WHAM!
Bull began beating the shit out of Flow, so I took that opportunity to jump in my car and speed out of there while Bull was occupied. I kept the pedal to metal the entire way home, and didn’t breathe it seemed until I got into MG’s gates.
I didn’t know how Bull had found me, but what I did know was that shit was about to get real.
Chapter Ten: Bia
I finished tying my tennis shoes and then stood up to tie my hair into a bun. I didn’t want it all over my neck today, and I definitely needed to give it a wash. Just as I finished, I heard a light knock on my door, which surprised me since Taya was over at her friend’s house.
“Uh, who is it?” I called out, even though I was making my way to the door to answer it. When I pulled it open, I saw my mother standing there. “Ma, go lie back down! If you needed something, you could have just—”
“Hush, is Taya pregnant?” Her mouth was contorted, and her hand was planted firmly on her hip. “I overheard a phone conversation of hers, and I know you know what’s going on, so tell me.”
“Ma, I don’t know—”
“Don’t lie, Bia, I don’t have time for lies. I may be sick right now, but I am no fool.” She coughed but then resumed staring hard at me.
“Yeah, I mean, she says she is, and—”
“Who is this boy?”
“He’s a rapper, and he’s an associate of Qamar’s,” I replied begrudgingly. I didn’t want her to know really because I already felt like I’d failed.
“A rapper friend of Qamar’s?” Her brow raised. “Just how old is he, Bia? You do realize Taya is only sixteen years old, and any friends or associates of Qamar’s I’m sure are not that age.”
“No, he’s not, you’re right. But Ma, I tried to keep them apart, I really did! But then, Taya got disrespectful, and I slapped her, and we argued and—”
“Bia, sweetie, relax. You are her sibling, not her mother. There is only so much that you can do. I’m sick, not dead, so I will handle this, okay?” She kissed my cheek and then stepped back. “Where are you headed?”
“Just to the hospital to visit a friend is all. I may hang out with Qamar a little later.”
“Okay, well like I tell you all the time, Bia, relax and enjoy the time you are out, okay? Before you know it, you’ll be married and pregnant, not able to do anything but sit in front of the television and snack.”
“Okay.” I chuckled before we embraced. “Now go back and lie down.” I walked her back to her bedroom, and then went to the kitchen to make her a quick snack before leaving.
I left the house and went straight to the hospital in Torrance because I wanted to see how Nadine was doing. We weren’t ever super close, but the times I had seen her, she was really nice and sweet. I just felt really bad for her, and because I believed she was at Qamar’s house when this mess happened, the feeling was even worse.
It was like I felt responsible for some of the stuff he did since he was my man now. I didn’t even know if that was the right decision for me to make, but since he’d been seemingly having it together, I was happy.
“Hey.” I stepped into the room, holding the flowers I’d purchased from the store downstairs.
“Hey, love. Thanks for stopping by.” Switch rose to his feet to hug me, and then he sat back down.
Cody nodded his head to speak, and of course, Switch’s ex-wife Panama acted like I didn’t even exist. And honestly, the way life was going for me, pretty well, I didn’t really care. I had a new job, I was almost finished with school, my man somewhat was getting better, I had some great friends, and my mama had eased my mind about Taya. At the moment, I had no complaints.
“Her face is healing really well,” I commented.
“Yeah, it is. She’s starting to look like herself now, so we’re hopeful as hell,” Cody replied.
“I think with all the visits from everyone, it’s helping her, you know?” Switch looked up at me, and then pulled me down into his lap.
“Switch, I—”
“What the fuck is this shit?” Qamar seethed, coming further into the room. I had hopped up as if Switch’s lap was a hot seat. “You fucking this nigga?” Qamar’s eyes lowered as he stared at me.
“Bia, you’re familiar with Qamar?” Switch asked. I had so many questions myself, like how the hell Switch even knew Qamar, but right now, I wasn’t in the position to be asking the questions.
“Qamar, baby, I was about to tell him—”
“Tell him what, huh?” He walked further into the room. “Huh?” Qamar growled and shoved some machine that caused a loud deafening horn to start blowing throughout the room. Nadine’s body began to turn a blue color, as the horn continued to blow loudly as hell.
“Nurse!” Panama shouted.
“Get the fuck out!” Cody hopped up and shoved Qamar back, who then decked him between the eyes. Cody struck him back and the men were at it.
“Clear out now!” A team of nurses stampeded in, forcing the two men apart so that they couldn’t fight. It was pure mayhem right now.
“Oh my gosh—” I whimpered.
“Go!” Switch pointed to the door as the nurses worked on Nadine. “No, go!” he shouted angrily to me when I tried to speak.
I left and when I got out into the hallway, I spotted Qamar walking briskly towards the elevators. I jogged to catch up with him, and pulled on his arm to make him face me.
“Baby, I swear he pulled me into his lap and I was about to tell him I had a man, that is the truth.”
“You fuck him?” he panted.
“Before, yes, but not recently. I haven’t been sleeping with him because he was too depressed about his daughter, and then we got together officially.” It was silent. “I’m gonna ask you again, Qamar, ... was Nadine at your party?”
He looked off, frowning, and then shrugged.
“Look, she may have been at the party, aight? But umm, … that’s it, so.” He laughed and pressed the button.
The elevator doors came open, and he stepped inside, pulling me with him. The doors closed, and he began kissing me roughly, before slipping his hand down into my tights.
“Qamar, not in here and not right now.” I nudged him off of me. Nadine was probably dead because of his actions moments ago, and he was trying to sex me.
Qamar did nothing but laugh, as he leaned against the wall, waiting for the elevator to hit the bottom floor.
“You know I was thinking about us and how great shit is. And umm, maybe we should like, get married or some shit. I’d even do it today. I mean, it can’t be that hard to get hitched, right?” He grinned, and I just let out a half-suppressed laugh as we walked through the parking lot.
“Qamar, what are you talking about?”
“Us, baby!” He scooped me up excitedly and carried me through the parking lot, running fast as hell. “Us getting married!” he yelled as he booked it through.
“Qamar!” I screeched.
When we got by his car, he finally placed me to my feet, still chuckling. He seemed really happy, like he’d won the lottery happy.
“We getting married!” he howled through the lot, just as a white van with green writing pulled up on us.
I paused for a moment to look it over, as Qamar stood there smiling and panting heavily. I saw his mother get out of the side of the van, and then two men who looked like medical workers got out of the driver and passenger seat.
“Mrs. Hampton.” I smiled, still confused.
“Hi, honey.” She gave me a qui
ck cheese and then looked to her son. “Baby, come on, we have to go.”
“I can’t, Ma. I’m about to, umm, me and Bia are about to get married.” He chuckled, and the way she looked at him let me know something was wrong.
“Wow, baby, you are?” she beamed. “That is great, but don’t you need something to wear?”
“Nah, she’s okay with this, right?” He glanced my way, and before I could respond, he began kissing me.
“Sweetheart, let her breathe.” His mother tugged him away. “Ricky told me to talk to you, baby, so we are gonna get in this van with the nice men here, and then in a few weeks, that big wedding will be planned and you can get married.”
“Ricky? Man, fuck Ricky.” Qamar waved his mother off. “Fuck this van and fuck Ricky AK!”
“He cares about you, Qamar. So come on, come with Mama so we can get this process started so you can be back to your Bia soon.”
“Aight, fine. But I told you I’m good and don’t need shit.” He followed his mother like a little child, and when the men touched him, he started getting crazy.
“What is going on?” I finally shouted.
“Bia, honey, Qamar needs to go to rehab,” Mrs. Hampton replied, as the men restrained Qamar.
“For what? He’s taking his medicine and he’s not on drugs anymore!”
“Bia, he’s taking his medicine, but he’s still very much on drugs, darling; that’s why you’re getting this show right here today. The drugs and medicine cannot work together.” I stood there silent, so she gave me a hug and then kissed my forehead. “Just give it a couple weeks and he’ll be normal, and then you can visit him in rehab, okay?”
I nodded as I watched her get into the van with Qamar. The two men gave me sympathetic nods, before getting into the front of the van and pulling off.
As badly as I didn’t want to witness what I had, if this would make Qamar get better, I was all for it. It actually felt good knowing he’d be getting some help, even though this whole time I thought he hadn’t been fucking off. I wished he’d manned up and faced his condition, by taking his meds and going to rehab on his own, instead of pretending he didn’t have a problem. I’d stuck by him when I shouldn’t have, and it was time for Qamar to be a man about his shit.
I just hoped he stayed healthy once he was out, because at the moment I wasn’t sure if I actually wanted to be with him, or if I just felt obligated to because of his problems. It was like I was dealing with him out of pity instead of actual fondness. I just didn’t feel the same as I did when we first met, and a part of me was happy that Qamar would be out of my life for a little bit. I didn’t know, but right now I needed a man and since Qamar was still a damn teenager in a sense, I was over it, this, and him. But hey, maybe the distance would make my heart grow fonder…
Chapter Ten: Ricky AK
The next evening …
I walked into my bedroom to see my fine ass baby mama putting some smell good shit on her legs. She had on this short robe that always got my dick hard whenever she walked by me in that shit. Particularly, seeing that garter tattoo that was reminiscent of some type of lingerie.
I was always a nigga that liked to fuck, but Draylah had definitely intensified the shit for me. And now that she was pregnant, the pussy was way wetter than God should have allowed. Shit had me busting more nuts than caps around this bitch.
I walked over to the sound system to the side, and turned on “Tone It Down” by Gucci Mane, making Draylah roll her eyes and smile.
“No, move, Ricky.” She laughed and put her hand out when I started towards her lip syncing, trying to dance a little bit. “I wanna go make some fooood!” She whined with a smile when I made her stand up. “You’re so annoying! And I can feel it already,” she giggled, referring to my dick.
I only had on boxers, socks, and gray sweats, so my hard dick was definitely pressing up against her ass.
“Aye, you know I don’t dance in public, so this is your chance to dance with your man,” I replied with a grin, so Draylah cupped her knees and began to grind her ass against my crotch. I smiled watching her look back at it with her tongue out. “Little freaky ass.” I bit my lip before chuckling, and so did she.
After we danced for a bit, I brought her up to hug her body from behind. I kissed on her neck a little bit, and then finally made her face me before pecking her lips a few times.
“Aight, go make the damn food so I can get some pussy. I wanna play the game anyway.”
“I don’t want you to play the game. You play it for hours, and I just sit there looking dumb, Ricky.”
“Give me some head then and I won’t play,” I smirked.
“No, I wanna eat.”
“I wanna eat too.”
“Ricky, no.” She smirked seductively.
“Then I’m gon’ play the game. You need to learn to suck dick and fry chicken at the same time. Now that’s a real woman.”
“Get the fuck out of here.” She laughed as I scooped her up and carried her down the stairs bridal style, letting Gucci’s music continue to play from the room.
Once to the floor, I placed Draylah to her feet, and then let her head towards the kitchen, while I went to the game room. I couldn’t wait to play this damn video game, because a nigga had been working like a muthafucka promoting this fucking album, getting this label together, checking on my moms, and of course, trying to give Draylah’s ass attention. Then I had to keep my distance from Qamar before he went into rehab so I wouldn’t beat his ass again.
I was 100% done with that bitch ass nigga. Nigga wasn’t the least bit sick or high when he took them jabs, and he used shit that he knew he was dirty. And to think, I believed we were like brothers; nah, fuck that shit. Even if he were sick when that shit happened between us, I wouldn’t fuck with his ass because I was tired of it. He was choosing not to take his medicine at this point, and choosing to act like he wasn’t addicted to cocaine, so in my eyes, he could no longer not be held accountable for the shit he did when he wasn’t medicated.
Sitting down, I started to play my video game, and my phone chimed. When I looked down, I saw it was a DM from Malou. I wasn’t sure why she thought she could hit me up now and shit would be different, but I guess the bitch was dumb. I wasn’t in the mood to even converse with her boring pussy having ass, so I just focused on the game, calming my nerves. Deep into the shit, I started to smell the food from the kitchen, so a nigga got excited.
Just then, my doorbell rang through my crib, so I got up and went to look at my camera system. I saw there were some officers standing there, uniformed, and then one that appeared to be a detective. A part of me wondered if it was about my mother, but then again, it couldn’t be because them niggas didn’t have my real name. I knew I couldn’t just not answer the fucking door, so I unlocked one of my double doors and stood there.
“Mr. Frederick Montana?” the front-runner said. He was a Black dude, looked like the type of nigga you stole lunch money from on the school yard.
“Yeah, what the fuck is this?”
“I’m Detective Chuck Jefferson, and we have a search warrant for the premises here.” He held up a white piece of paper.
“Search warrant for what? How the fuck y’all even get this?” I snatched the paper and looked it over. “Hold up, nigga.” I blocked him when he tried to step in.
“Mr. Montana, if you do not let us search like we’ve gotten the permission to, there will be repercussions.”
I could have punched his ass, but I was trying to move smarter, with a daughter coming and a bunch of business shit I was trying to get off the ground. Plus, he wasn’t gon’ find shit. All my guns and shit were at my other crib, and the one I did keep here, was safely locked away where he wouldn’t find it.
“Gon’ head, muthafucka.” I stepped back smirking, and he came in, along with the uniformed officers.
“What’s this?” Draylah came from the kitchen in that damn robe.
“Go put some clothes on,” I spoke lowly, and
nodded towards the second level of the house.
She hurried off as I waited for these niggas to finish, and then returned wearing some sweat shorts and a sweatshirt.
The men came back past me after about twenty minutes, and then went outside to look all in my yard, bushes, and big ass driveway.
“Got it!” one yelled, catching me off guard like a muthafucka.
“Got what?” I yelled, as I watched him drop a gun into a bag reminiscent of a Ziploc bag.
“Mr. Montana, you’re in possession of a firearm, and as a criminal, you’re not allowed to possess a firearm, were you aware of that? Not to mention, this weapon was recently used in a murder.”
This shit had to be a joke.
“That’s not my fucking gun,” I replied coolly. “Y’all planted that shit.”
The uniformed officers began to cuff me as they read me my rights, and all I could do was close my eyes to calm myself. This had to be a dream or some shit right now. I just kept taking deep breaths, hoping it would keep my ass serene and I wouldn’t go ape shit on these little ass toothpick muthafuckas.
“It’s mine!” Draylah shouted.
“Draylah, stop it,” I said, shaking my head at her when we gained eye contact.
I knew what she was doing, and as much as I appreciated it, fucking loved her for it, I wasn’t the type of nigga to let my girl go down for me; especially for some shit I didn’t do. I’d rather rot in a cell, than have my girl, pregnant with my child, behind bars, even if it was just for a month. That was some hoe shit.
I watched Draylah, as tears pooled in her eyes, and she nibbled on her lip.
“Come here,” I said.
“Mr. Montana, we have to go,” the detective ordered. I ignored him, because right now, all I was concerned about was making sure my girl had her mind right before I left. The officers who cuffed me were pulling on me, but because they were weaker and shorter, I was able to resist.
Draylah slowly made her way over to me, so I leaned down to kiss her lips a couple times.
“This shit isn’t gon’ last, so relax, aight? Once you calm down, call Avalon for me and tell her what happened so this can be fixed, aight?” I smiled to lighten the mood, even though I was infuriated. She nodded and wiped her cheek. “Stop crying, baby, please.”
