“Almost as long as I have,” Aurora whispered in return, spreading her fleshy thighs before him as she invited him deeper inward.
The two continued to kiss and cuddle as their sweat-lined forms clung together; basking in a timeless bond that seemed blessed by the rays of the moon above them.
His firm trim hips shifting against hers in a hard but playful gyration, Lance bowed his head to her neck as he continued to probe and penetrate her; his cock driving forth to her very core as they joined as one. Soon it became difficult to tell where one ended and the other began as their beings clung together; their united limbs creating a divine friction that exploded in the heat of an incredible mutual orgasm.
Once again trembling in her lover’s arms as she lost herself in pleasure, Aurora thought she was imagining things when she noted the surreal glow that filled her lover’s eyes. Yet when he parted his lips to reveal the sharp fangs that she’d come to know all too well, she knew without a doubt that the vision before her was not the stuff of erotic fever dreams.
Rolling away from him in the grass, she watched in silent wonder as her transformed lover pitched his leonine head back; howling wild at the moon even as he maintained the hard muscled body of a human man.
Rising up on all fours before her, Lance assumed the formation of a wild wolf as he continued to howl and growl; finally ducking his head as he seemed determined to quell his wild cries and regain his composure.
Finally Lance raised his familiar—and gorgeous—face to regard her with a gentle smile.
“Please don’t fear me, Sweetheart,” he whispered, adding as he rolled over on his back and sat upward in a cushion of clover, “I’ve never hurt anyone in my natural state, and I swear to you I never will—especially not you.”
Aurora looked at him for a long moment, then nodded.
“I know,” she replied, tone soft and understanding.
Lance shook his head.
“I appreciate your trust babe, but really I have to ask,” he pressed her, “How is it that you’re not running in terror from me right now?”
Aurora chuckled.
“When you read and write paranormal romance, Lance, you learn to believe—and, in some bizarre way, to hope,” she revealed, tone low and wistful. “As I told you, you’ve always seemed different to me somehow—but in a weird, wonderful way.” She paused here, adding as she draped her arms around his muscled shoulders, “Were you born this way, Lance?”
Her lover chuckled.
“With all apologies to good ol’ Lady Gaga, yes and no,” he revealed, adding as he ran a loving hand down her back, “When my mother was pregnant with me, Aurora, she got bitten by a wolf late one night, while walking home from a movie. Six months later when I was born, I seemed just fine; that is until my teen years, when I started going on camp outs with my friends. One night I just changed in front of my friends, driving them all from the campground—just like I’ve driven away every woman who has ever tried to love me.”
His wolfish grin made a welcome return moments later, as his lover swept him up in her arms and held his body closer than close.
“Well that tradition changes tonight,” she insisted, adding as she seared his lips with a kiss of warm sincerity, “I love you Lance, and I’m not going anywhere.” She paused here, adding as she raised a firm finger for emphasis, “You’re stuck with me, Dude!”
She smiled as her lover swept her up in his arms and showered a rain of sweet baby kisses across her ebony cheeks.
“I love you too, Aurora,” he told her, adding as he gathered her closer to him, “And I wouldn’t have it any other way.”
Chapter six
The next day Lance and Aurora made a valiant attempt to return to work at the medical center; sneaking kisses between patients and paperwork, all while planning a lavish lunch at a nearby bistro.
Aurora’s light mood took an unexpected plunge just before noon, when a familiar—but not overly friendly—face appeared without notice in her office.
“Lt. Friedman, what a pleasant surprise,” she forced a smile as she greeted the grizzled old police detective they’d met the week before, on the evening of the accident that Lance inadvertently inspired. “How is Hector?”
Failing to return her polite beam, Bill Friedman approached her desk with quick, purposeful steps.
“He’s doing just fine. They released him from the hospital this morning,” he revealed, adding as he inclined his head in Aurora’s direction, “Only he still insists that he saw a werewolf in your woods; and his attending nurse at the hospital, who once worked at your medical center, insists that she has seen the same creature—more than once.” He paused here, adding as he folded his arms before him, “Do you mind telling me what’s going on around here?”
Aurora shrugged.
“Well let me answer that question with a question,” she returned, adding as she arched her eyebrows, “Have you ever investigated any animal attacks in this area? Have you ever heard of this alleged creature harming or killing anyone?”
Lt. Friedman shook his head.
“Never,” he admitted.
Aurora nodded.
“It shouldn’t surprise you to know, Lieutenant, that the woodlands of Florida are just brimming with bizarre but harmless critters of many varieties,” she reminded him, adding with a cryptic smile, “Some of them more bizarre and harmless than others.”
After bidding goodbye to the lieutenant, who promised not to bother them again, a still tense Aurora jumped as she heard the invasive buzz of her amplified office intercom.
“Aurora?” Lance’s deep smooth voice now echoed free throughout the walls of her clean-lined office. “Could you please step into my office?”
Heaving a deep sigh, Aurora left her office and made fast tracks toward a larger, more elegantly decorated work space; prepared to relate the details of the policeman’s unwelcome visit.
“Um, Lance,” she addressed him, closing his office door behind her before turning to face him in full. “Um, Lance?”
Her pulse raced as she turned to face a vision to behold; the sight of a sculpted, muscular naked man sprawled across the soft cushion of blue shag carpeting.
“I heard what you said to the lieutenant,” Lance whispered, the strands of his ebony hair spread decorative across the floor as he held out his hand to her, “However can I thank you, love?”
He thanked her in kind moments later, inviting her to join him on the floor of his office and covering her body with his.
Stripping her basic brown work dress from the curves of her rubenesque body, Lance hovered over his joyful lover and kissed her face, her neck, her breasts, before once again claiming her lips in what seemed a binding kiss.
Losing himself in her robust softness, Lance ran his hands like warm water down her back as she wrapped her long legs around his trim waist; drawing him closer to her as she braced her arms around his bulging shoulders and sealed her lips onto his.
Rolling free and with reckless abandon across the floor beneath them, the couple’s nipples grazed against one another to intensify their sexual friction; her buxom breasts crushed his hard muscled chest as their arms and legs entangled.
Sweeping his lover up in an all-consuming embrace, Lance whipped the lengths of his silky dark hair free and wild across her breasts; all the while plying her lips with the sweetest adoring kisses. Then he growled outright as she threw herself against him, breaking their kiss to bow her head to his chest and lick his rock hard pecs.
Reveling in his lover’s ravenous attentions, Lance threw his head back and let loose with an animal howl; reaching between her legs to stroke open her folds and caress the surface of her throbbing nub.
Cradling her close with his free arm, he finally and fully joined them as one; plunging his long hard shaft to the depths of her wet pussy while continuing to stroke her pulsating clit.
Finally he joined her in their realm of ecstasy, moving smooth within her as their bodies engaged in the ultimate i
ntimate tango; their only music the pounding of their hearts as their hands canvassed free over one another’s skin in a divine act of sensual exploration.
Then and with a final growl he plunged forth to her very core, at the same time laying a light squeeze on the skin of her feminine fruit as she quaked in his arms; her being erupting in the unspeakable ecstasy of a sublime dual pleasuring.
“I love you, my Aurora,” he whispered in her ear. “You bring out the animal in me.”

Chapter 1
Lisa stretched on the bus, agitated that it was taking so long to get to Lake Tahoe. She’d been working nonstop all week on various projects for her manager and she was finally able to take a vacation.
She knew it would be the vacation of a lifetime, but what she didn’t know was what Lake Tahoe had in store for her. Lisa was fairly short and curvaceous, with wide hips and a large chest. She had big brown eyes and lightly tanned skin from the few times she was able to go for walks or tan in her backyard.
She hadn’t been out in nature in weeks, and was feeling quite restless when she booked her getaway at Lake Tahoe. From all the pictures she saw online, the resort looked incredible. There was a clear blue lake that she could canoe on and it was surrounded by thick evergreen trees. She was to be saying in a log cabin complete with air conditioning and stained glass windows. Her cabin was called Curtain Tail and was marked by a large red spiral above the door.
Some of the other cabins were painted with various shapes and symbols. Though she didn’t quite have the money, she spent a bit extra on a nicer cabin just to treat herself.
The other people on the bus were either getting off at Lake Tahoe or continuing on towards a more rural campsite. Lisa was sitting next to a woman who was wearing a bright pink dress and who had fallen asleep while reading a mystery novel.
She was snoring softly and Lisa watched as her chest rose and fell. It always made her feel oddly serene to watch other people sleep. She thought about how it made them look like they were at their most docile, like they were a bunch of sleeping kittens.
When they finally arrived at the lake, Lisa practically leapt off the bus. She was excited to move into her cabin, and wanted to meet the others that were staying at the resort. It was owned by a man she had yet to meet named Colton Riggs. He had sounded kind on the phone, which made Lisa all the more inclined to come to his resort. He told her that they served breakfast daily in the great hall and that there was meditation centers which she could attend for afternoon relaxation. He also gave her a list of times for lunch and dinner, but told her she would have information pamphlets waiting for her in her cabin.
When she finally located the familiar red spiral, her heart leapt in her chest. She was excited to unpack her things and head down to the hall to grab something to eat. When she first stepped inside, she noticed the bright stained glass panels that created rainbow puddles on the ground.
She walked around the cabin first, trying to get a feel for the place. There were large leather chairs scattered around the living room and the kitchen was filled with pots, pans, and mugs. She was happy to notice that there was an instant coffee maker by the sink. Suddenly there was a knock on the door.
Waiting nervously on the front steps was a young woman who went by the name of Sunflower. She was the only other woman living on that strip of land, and wanted to ask if she wanted to get lunch with her.
Lisa opened the door with a slightly annoyed expression on her face, expecting there to be some annoying worker ready to spring information on her. Instead she found a tall and slim woman with cornflower hair and dark green eyes.
“Hi,” Lisa said, surprised to see her. “How’s it going?”
“Oh it’s good, I uh, I just thought I’d come by and say hi. We’re neighbors and all and I’ve been here a few weeks and you’re the first woman that’s moved in on our side of the lake. I’m Sunflower,” she said, extending a hand.
To Lisa, this name was hilarious. She was a fast-talking girl that hailed from New York and had recently moved to California for work. Sunflower had a Southern accent and a dream catcher tattoo on her thigh. But she seemed nice enough, so Lisa shook her hand.
“Lisa. It’s nice to meet you.”
Sunflower smiled. “Do you want to maybe grab a bite to eat with me?”
“Yes please, I’m starving. Let me just grab my purse.”
“Okay! I’ll just wait out here.”
Lisa smiled and ran quickly back inside. She would have missed the ominous brown figure outside her bathroom window if she hadn’t of had to pee so badly. Right outside her bedroom window was large brown bear fishing around the woods. He seemed friendly enough, and was walking around slowly on two legs, sniffing at trees and inspecting beehives.
Lisa stared at the bear, wondering if she would be attacked at all. She knew that Lake Tahoe was home to a brilliant array of creatures and that part of their mission was to live together harmlessly with nature. She decided the bear was harmless, washed her hands and headed back out to meet Sunflower.
They talked nonstop the entire way to the food court. It was located in an enormous hall made entirely of logs. The inside was cozy and there was a buffet table. Sunflower grabbed them a table while Lisa walked over to the buffet to inspect the selection. As she was loading her plate with food, she noticed someone standing next to her. It was none other than Colton Riggs, the owner of the resort.
“Hi,” she said sheepishly, taken aback by his rugged yet handsome looks.
“Hey,” he said to her, smiling warmly. A beard covered his face and he had dark brown hair. His eyes were clear blue and he was wearing a red and blue-checkered shirt. The top two buttons were unbuttoned and she could see hair poking through.
“I’m Colton,” he said, extending a hand.
The minute she took his hand in hers she felt a surge of electricity. He was so attractive she couldn’t quite handle it. Luckily for Lisa, Colton felt the same.
He’d noticed her the moment she entered the resort. She was voluptuous and beautiful, and that caramel skin of hers was enchanting. Colton knew it was wrong, but he could feel his animalistic desires flooding his body. All he wanted to do was ask this woman if she would go back to his cabin with him so that he could ravage her until the sun rotated around the earth. Instead, he asked if she was enjoying her time at Lake Tahoe.
“I only just arrived but it’s incredible. I used to hike and swim all the time when I was younger, but lately I’ve been swamped with work.”
“I understand how you feel,” Colton said. “Before I came to create this place of solitude, I was working eighty hour weeks and I barely had any time off to relax or reflect. We here believe it’s very important to retain proper mental health and sanity.”
“I agree,” Lisa said. This man talking to her was looking at her in the most curious way. She couldn’t tell if he was interested in her or not, and didn’t want to freak him out by asking him to hang out with her.
If Lisa were completely honest with herself, she had been quite lonely lately. She’d broken up with her long-term boyfriend Marcus and was feeling the after effects of being single in a big city. While being on vacation certainly was a break from the norm, Lisa still felt a crippling loneliness and an intense desire to fill the hole in her heart.
“Um,” she started to say, about to ask Colton what he was doing later that night, but Colton started to speak at the same time.
“Are you—”
They looked at each other and laughed shyly. “Sorry about that,” he said. “I was meaning to ask you if you’re doing anything later. We’re going to be setting off fireworks to signify the start of summer and I thought you might want to go with me?”
Lisa bit her lower lip and nodded.
“I know this is so strange, I mean we only
just met,” he said while chuckling.
“True, but I haven’t really met anyone here so far besides Sunflower. I’d love to see the fireworks with you.”
“Great. What’s your cabin name? I’ll come by and grab you before they start.”
Lisa told him the location of her cabin before smiling and telling him she had to get back to her friend. When she reached the table, Sunflower immediately started to freak out.
“He was so handsome,” she gushed. “My god, did he ask you out on a date?”
“He did,” Lisa said happily. “We’re going to see the fireworks tonight.”
“Oh my,” Sunflower said, smiling. “I’ll be there too! You have to introduce me.”
