That evening we gathered at Bryce’s house.
‘Can we talk about athletics?’ I asked.
‘Athletics?’ said Luci. ‘Now, that is definitely the best of them all, don’t you reckon, Bubba?’
   The others were grinning.
‘I’m gonna win the shot-put,’ Rat said, giving Bubba a shove. Bubba didn’t move.
‘I wouldn’t be so sure,’ Bubba replied, giving Rat a shove back. Rat went flying.
‘Whoa! Geez, sorry, Rat.’ Bubba bent down to help him up.
‘It’s okay, I’m getting used to it,’ said Rat. ‘Bubba, I think I’ll let you win the shot-put.’
   Everyone laughed.
I listened to the others teasing Rat about his chances of winning the shot-put. Fisk was one point in front of me in the overall Legend scores at present. As much as I liked Rat and Bubba, I’d be trying my hardest to beat them when it came to the Legend of Athletics . . .
