Eve laughed at his lecherous tone. She had no trouble recalling Nate's hard body covering hers, his even harder cock stretching her, his forceful thrusts driving her to one orgasm after another. She shuddered with longing to experience more of what he introduced her to in those few hours, but knew the possibility wasn't in the cards for someone like her.

"Use your imagination," she retorted with a smile.

No matter how hard she tried, Eve couldn't set aside her and Nate's chance encounter. She loved her job teaching music to blind children, immersing herself in her music every day by sharing her talent with them, showing them one way to enjoy their other senses despite the loss of the most important one. Her job came with a set of challenges that were sometimes heartbreaking, especially when she was working with a student who recently lost his or her sight. She could remember all too well the first few years of struggling with denial, anger, depression and frustration. It was easier to work with children born blind, who didn't go through that roller coaster of emotional upheaval, unable to miss what they never had. Unfortunately, they came with their own set of problems, the hardest learning to adapt in a world they have never seen.

By the following Friday afternoon, Eve was exhausted from work and from trying to forget Nate, forget the pleasure he had so unselfishly given her, forget trying to put a face with the body she couldn't forget. She didn't want to meet him again, didn't want to subject herself to hearing that deep voice and feeling the way her body reacted to it and his nearness when she knew nothing could come of it, knew she would never get to experience those awesome climaxes with him again.

Eve stepped out of the cab and unfolded her cane, getting halfway up her front walk when Mark hailed her. Afraid she knew what he wanted, she greeted him with a smile. "Hey, Mark. What're you two doing this evening?"

"We're going to that new Mexican place we've been talking about. Want to come?"

"Thanks, but I'm beat. I think I'll stay in tonight." Mark could tell by the strain around her eyes and mouth it had been a rough week for her. She took too much on herself, this young woman with a heart of gold and a will of iron. It worried them that one day those two traits would collide and give her more grief to live with. "Why don't we order it to go and crash with you in, say an hour?"

"Thanks, but I have leftovers I need to eat and homework tapes I need to listen to. Rain check?"

"Okay. We'll be ready by ten tomorrow morning. It should be a good day for being outdoors." Both he and Carl were taking her back to the sports complex to assist with the next activity on her list she used to do but hadn't done since being thrown from Bobby's car.

Eve hesitated, preparing for the argument she knew was coming. "About that, I think I'll put horseback riding off for a while. I'm still reeling from flying off the rock wall last week."

Mark took her keys from her as she pulled them from her purse. "No you're not," he refuted, unlocking her front door. "You're reeling from having come across your one-night stand and the interest Carl said he showed in you."

Stepping inside, she tossed her purse on the small table just inside the door, walking across her great room without error to the small wine refrigerator in her kitchen. Pulling out a bottle, she reached for a wine glass, asking over her shoulder, "Want a glass?"

"No, thank you, sweetie." Mark watched her pour the wine, using her finger to gauge when to stop, then turn to lean against the counter, looking in his direction. She still wore her glasses and he wished she'd remove them. It was easier to gauge her moods if he could see her eyes. "Now, about tomorrow…" He stopped when she held up her free hand.

"Mark, you and I both know any interest Nate showed in me was pure curiosity. I'm sure he's thanking his lucky stars he could make a clean get away."

"Then there's no reason not to show up for your riding lesson, is there?" he said with a grin, backing her into a corner.

Well, shit, she stepped into that one, didn't she?

"Come on, Eve, you know you've been looking forward to getting on a horse again. The stables are a long way from the large sporting complex where you did the rock climbing. You can't even see them from the main buildings. If this Nate is there tomorrow, he'll never know you're at the stables, and if he does show up again, as you said, last week he was just curious about you."

"Bring me a deluxe taco and I'll think about it." Mark knew her too well, knew how much she wanted to try her hand at riding again, almost as much as she wanted another six hours rolling around naked with Nate. She may as well spend the evening with friends instead of brooding.

Nate walked around the side of O'Dell's, Fin's popular restaurant, and located Wes and Dec sitting at a table out on the patio. A small Cessna 182 glided down the runway of the adjacent private airstrip, coming to a stop next to a Beechcraft Bonanza. Everyone had thought Fin was crazy for opening a casual restaurant that specialized in burgers and steaks by an airstrip for small, private airplane owners, but five years later, O'Dell's was a must stopover for people out flying their pleasure aircraft anywhere within a six state radius. Maybe he needed to have Fin take him up in his Cessna 206 this weekend to go skydiving, Nate thought returning Fin's wave from behind the grill before making his way to their table. He definitely needed to find something to take his mind off of a small, dark haired blind woman who responded to his demanding ways in bed without hesitation.

"If you're gonna scowl all night, take a hike," Wes said as Nate took a seat with him and Dec.

"I wasn't scowling, was I?" Jesus, now he obsessed over the damn woman without even realizing it.

"Yes, you were. What's up?" Dec asked, his grey eyes giving Nate an assessing look. "Have anything to do with the blind chick you made a fool of yourself over last week?"

"How was I supposed to know she was blind?" he shot back in irritation.

"Maybe because you acted like you knew her," Wes retorted. "She was a brave little thing, wasn't she? I thought she handled the wall and herself with admirable finesse, all things considered."

Nate wasn't ready to tell his friends how he knew Eve. The four of them forged a tight bond when they met in their first year of boarding school thirty-three years ago. Through the years, they discovered they had distaste for their parents' high society lifestyles in common and amused themselves by doing things to piss them off, starting with each of them refusing to answer to anything but the shortened version of their names. As adults, they each took a path opposite of what their parents had mapped out for them and even now, at the age of thirty-nine, their choices made for an ongoing battle between them and their parents.

The four of them also discovered and then explored together their interest in kinky sex, visiting clubs and hiring professionals to learn what interested them the most and gave them the experience they needed. This was one reason Nate wasn't mentioning the night he had spent with Eve yet. Being unable to quit obsessing over a night of vanilla sex was unlike him, any of them for that matter, and until he figured out how to get her out of his system, he'd leave the circumstances regarding their initial encounter to himself.

"I don't know her, I was intrigued. It's not every day you see someone trying to climb a rock wall who can't see the nodules." His reasoning sounded lame even to him, Nate just hoped Dec and Wes fell for it.

Wes lifted his beer, smirking. "Yeah, and her being pretty and petite, your favorite body type, had nothing to do with your interest, right?"

"She's the one who's blind, not me," Nate retorted in good nature. "I'll take a beer and the bacon burger with the works," he told the waitress, not needing to look at the menu.

"So, does that mean you're not interested in hearing she's going riding tomorrow?" Wes knew his friend well, and from the clenching of his jaw, he knew Nate was struggling to hold back his interest.

"Aw, fuck it," Nate grumbled then snapped, "what time is she going to try this fool's stunt?"

"I counted to ten, how far did you get?" Wes grinned at Dec, holding his palm u
p. Dec high-fived Wes, replying, "Eleven."

"You're both assholes, now, answer my question."

  ***

Nestled in a copse and surrounded by woods, the horse barn on Wes's property was bustling with activity the next day, some of it due to the warm September afternoon the weatherman promised and some the regular Saturday agenda of guided trail rides and private lessons. Eve was already sitting astride an older mare when Nate walked up to the fence at the outdoor riding rink a little after one. Her friend, Carl, was joined by another man whose short, round body, red suspenders and wire-rimmed glasses made him the complete opposite of his tall, thin partner. Carl was leading the mare in slow circles around the enclosure, the other man walking alongside them, keeping a protective eye on Eve. She had a white-knuckled grip on the pommel, her shoulders too stiff to enjoy the ride, but otherwise she held her seat remarkably well, leaving him to assume she'd been up on a horse in another life, a life where she could see, perhaps?

He watched her unobserved for a while, wondering what was driving her to try things that had to be an enormous challenge and a little scary for her. Then again, this was the same woman who had sex with complete strangers. Convinced now more than ever she wasn't employed by Camille, raised more questions, like how did they know each other and how often was Eve driven to get sex that way? He knew it would do him no good to ask Camille. She never revealed personal information about the women she set him up with. Nate left as the trio headed to the stables thirty minutes later, the only acknowledgment he got they knew he was there was a nod from Carl and the slight stiffening of Eve's body after Carl said a few words to her, presumably telling her he was watching.

"Oh, baby, that hurts so good. Smack me again, Nate."

Nate slapped Clarissa's ass again as she rode his cock, wondering who he was irritated with more tonight, her or himself. Her feigned excitement over having her ass slapped never bothered him before, choosing to ignore his desire for a real response of pleasure from a woman who enjoyed being dominated sexually for an easy lay. But tonight his mind was occupied with another woman who rode him in the dark and her honest, excited reaction to his one light smack. The warm gush of moisture that had seeped from her pussy had been all the proof he needed Eve had really gotten excited from that small nip of pain, unlike Clarissa who was just saying what she thought he wanted to hear.

Grabbing her hips, Nate took over, thrusting up into her pussy with a deep, penetrating stroke that had her gasping. Her breasts, much larger now with the implants she thought would please him, bounced with each body jarring lunge. Damn it. He managed to keep his curse silent when the image of smaller, sensitive breasts intruded. He knew Clarissa's plastic surgery was yet another attempt to entice him into making their relationship exclusive and someday permanent. No matter how blatant or how many times he told her he wasn't looking to settle down, she refused to cease dropping hints about taking their relationship to the next level. Other than the night he spent with Eve, he didn't know what it was like to be with a woman who wanted nothing from him, who didn't have ulterior motives for seeking out his bed.

He cursed again, this time louder and aimed at himself for being unable to put that night, and the woman, aside with the ease he had all the others. Flipping Clarissa over, he drew her legs over his shoulders and pinned her to the mattress, his hips pounding into hers over and over as he sought an answer to his irrational discontent.

"Yes, baby, give it to me hard. I love it, I love you, Nate!" Clarissa panted under him, her nails digging into his shoulders as she pictured the ring Nate would soon buy her along with the mansion she craved and the status of being a Radcliff. Thinking of all the high society functions they would attend together made her pussy clench around him and gave her more pleasure than his hard, sweaty body as her orgasm erupted, making her cry out in real pleasure this time.

Nate ignored her whispered words, concentrating instead on getting off so he could get out of here, realizing now that trying to forget one woman by using another had been a mistake. A few more strokes and his balls were tightening, his orgasm taking his mind off the woman he was fucking and the woman he was desperate to fuck again. Too bad the pleasurable high from his release didn't last long. As he lowered Clarissa's legs and withdrew from her pussy, all he could think about was how fast he could beat a hasty retreat.

"Hey," Clarissa purred, wrapping her arms around him as she nibbled on his neck, a little tease to entice him into staying in bed longer. "The burn center's annual auction benefit is coming up. I went ahead and RSVP'd for us. It's black tie."

"You should've checked with me first. That's weeks away and you know I don't make plans that far in advance." Irritated at her assumption, Nate rolled out of bed and headed towards the bathroom, saying over his shoulder, "Let me get rid of this then you can walk me to the door."

Clarissa jumped out of bed and glared at him from across it. "What is this, Nate? Wham, bam, thank you, ma'am? We've been going out for more than a year; I deserve more than that, God damn it! And I've already reserved a table for us. Your parents expect you to attend with a suitable date."

"I took you to dinner first, so wham bam doesn't apply." Nate struggled to remain calm as he went into the bathroom, disposed of the condom then returned and picked up his clothes while she stood by the bed, her arms on her hips, glaring daggers at him.

Releasing a heavy sigh, he pulled on his jeans, saying, "First, I don't give a fuck what my parents expect of me and, as you pointed out, we've been going out long enough for you to know that and how much I dislike you making plans for me without discussing it with me first. Why do we have to do this every time we get together? I've repeatedly told you this is all I'm offering. Take it or leave it, Rissa."

Grabbing her robe, Clarissa followed him to her front door, snapping, "Fine, I want to leave it. Find someone else to put up with you bouncing on them, if you can."

Nate turned before opening the door, taking in her disheveled blonde hair, noticing for the first time the dark roots starting to show, and the pinched look on her face. She'd made similar threats and innuendos before and they never lasted longer than a day or two. This time, he knew he wouldn't be answering any of her calls or texts when she got through pouting. Smiling, he quipped, "I'm sure I'll manage, baby. Good bye, Clarissa."

When Nate found himself once again standing at the corral fence and watching Eve ride in slow circles around the rink the next day, he knew he wanted more from this woman than a one- night stand. There was something about her that pulled at him; the way she had responded with enthusiasm to the small dose of dominance he subjected her to that night despite her innocence and inexperience had been a fucking turn on he couldn't forget. Learning she was blind hadn't dampened his lust for her or made it any easier for him to forget her. On the contrary, he admired the hell out of the woman he didn't think he'd ever see again. He suspected two things about this woman he barely knew; first, she wanted sex just like any other woman her age and second, she liked pushing her comfort zone as was evident by her attempt at rock climbing and now riding. He also knew he was tempted to give her what she was craving.

Still, he thought watching her small body sway with the slow movement of the horse, a relationship with someone with her limitations wasn't something to enter into lightly, would present challenges he didn't know if he could or wanted to deal with, and would need careful consideration before he allowed his body to convince his mind he could handle all of her needs. He knew one thing for certain; she'd never learn to ride at the pace she was taking. An idea took hold, a test for his ability to handle her and give her what she so obviously craved and a test for her and her response to what he could offer.

Before he could change his mind or think his idea to death, he went to saddle a larger, spirited horse named Smokey for his speckled gray coat, a favorite of Nate's when he had the time to ride. He was tightening the cinch when Eve's two friends, who were an amusing couple, led her into the stabl
e, the shorter man holding out his hand in an automatic gesture of assistance as she dismounted, giving him an enticing view of her ass encased in tight denim. But Eve slid off of the horse on her own, a triumphant grin brightening her face when she smiled up at both of them. He admired her independent streak even as he wondered how it would play into his plans if he made the decision to pursue them, and her.

"Hello, Eve," he greeted her as he walked over to them. She wore a plain, bright green tee shirt that said 'I can explain it to you but I can't understand it for you' in black letters. He wondered if she considered the saying general sarcasm or was simply stating the truth about her blindness. Either way, the soft cotton couldn't hide the outline of hard nipples, very responsive nipples if his memory was any good.

"Nate?" Eve turned an accusing look toward Mark and Carl. Her tone terse, she replied "I didn't know you were here today."

"Now, sweetie," Mark soothed, running his hand down her arm. "Last week you got all tense when we mentioned he was watching, so we thought it best not to tell you he was here today." Mark sent a glare toward Nate. "I'm sure your friend just wants to compliment you on how well you're doing."

Nate raised a brow at his veiled insinuation then ignored the hint, opting for the truth instead. "Actually, sugar, after watching you twice now, I've come to the conclusion you'll never get anywhere at the pace you're taking." Hoping this was the right move, he picked up her hand and set it on Smokey's thick, velvet soft neck. "How about if I take you up on Smokey here and we go for a trail ride?"

Neither the strong smell of horses and leather nor the sweet scent of hay and grain could disguise Nate's all male, earthy scent, an aroma that invaded her head and weakened her knees. Eve felt the eyes of all three men on her as she ran her hand down the horse's sleek neck. She could feel the stallion's muscles, sensed his size by how high his head was above her own, and she wanted to feel the power of this animal under her as much as she wanted to feel Nate's hard body bracing her from behind, which was why she hesitated. She was still dreaming about their one night together, still pining for more of what she knew she couldn't have, so it wouldn't do to take him up on his offer when she knew it wouldn't go where she wanted it to. Still, the carrot he was dangling in front of her was difficult to resist.
