  Chapter Ten

  Cody

Kissing Autumn felt just as good as I’d imagined.

I pulled her into my lap, and she came willingly. She shifted, straddling my thigh.

I could feel how wet she was, even through my pants.

She immediately pressed her hips down against my thigh, grinding in place.

I reached one hand under her bra, cupping her breast in my hand. It fit perfectly, her nipple hard against my palm.

I shifted my hand, squeezing her nipple between my thumb and index finger. I gave it a twist and she whined into my mouth.

I wanted her. I wanted more from her than I could have in the champagne room of a strip club.

But I kissed her again anyway.

She kept her hips moving. One of her hands dropped to my crotch; she unzipped my pants, sliding her hand inside and stroking slowly.

  It felt heavenly.

I wanted to keep going. She already had me close; talking to her was enough of a turn-on that this wouldn’t take long.

But somebody knocked at the door.

  Fuck.

Quickly, she pulled her hand out of my pants. I removed mine from under her bra. She shifted to hide the fact that my pants were still open.

To whoever it was, it would just look like she was in the middle of giving me a lap dance.

The door opened. A man peeked in, frowning. He looked greasy, unkempt. Probably her boss. “Autumn. Room three wants you.”

I spoke up before she could. “I’ve paid for this room until her shift ends. I was under the impression that meant she was in here until she was done for the night.”

The man shrugged. “Other people want her. You can’t monopolize my girls.”

“I paid a lot of money—”

“You and every other guy renting a room, pal. Autumn, c’mon. Let’s go.”

She looked at me sadly, but started to stand up.

I put my hand on her waist. “No. You’re done here.”

  Autumn jumped. “What?”

“I said you’re done. You can do better than a strip club.”

“There’s nothing wrong with working in a strip club.”

  “You’re quitting. Now.”

She paled. “How am I going to pay my rent if I quit?”

“We’ll talk about that later. You’re done. Get your things. We’re leaving.”

The man huffed. “You wanna quit, quit. But you won’t get your job back.”

Autumn looked at me, mouth half-open.

I nodded to her. “Let’s go.”

And I walked toward the door.

  She hesitated, then followed me.

I walked her to the stage door, waiting while she went and collected her things. While she did, I called a car to take us home.

  My place, of course.

  * * * * *

“You deserve better than a place like that.”

We sat on my couch, drinking wine. Autumn wore her clothes from class that morning, jeans and a hoodie.

  She wouldn’t look at me.

“It was paying me so much,” she murmured. “Oh, my God, I’m so stupid.”

“No, you’re not. I’m going to take care of you.”

She knocked back the rest of her wine.

“Look.” She said, frowning at me. “I barely know you. How do I know you’re not, like, a crazy murderer or something?”

I laughed. “If I were a crazy murderer, don’t you think I would have killed you already?”

She bit her lower lip, then shrugged.

  “Trust me,” I said.

  “I’ll try.”

“I don’t want to hurt you.”

“Then what do you want?” she asked.

I leaned forward and kissed her.

She tensed for a second, then relaxed, leaning into me. Her hands rose to rest on my shoulders.

I opened my mouth, sliding my tongue between her lips. Autumn whimpered, but didn’t pull back, didn’t protest.

She rose up to her knees, throwing her arms around me.

She almost knocked me back into the couch.

I held her hips, pulling her into my lap again, like we’d done at the club.

Immediately, she started to grind on me.

I pulled back from the kiss. “Bed?”

  “Bed,” she said softly.

She rose, wobbling a little as she stood. I picked myself up and took her hand.

She let me lead her down the hall to my bedroom.

She started to break away from me, to walk toward the bed, but I caught her and pulled her close again. I kissed her hard, moaning against her mouth.

  She kissed me back.

I reached down, tugging down the zipper of her skirt.

It fell to the floor. She stepped out of her heels.

I reached back to unhook her bra, and she shimmied out of it, tossing it to the floor.

  I needed her. Now.

I pushed her back toward the bed. She went willingly, sitting on the mattress.

I stood over her, pulling down her panties.

  She was soaked already.

  “Lie back.”

Autumn nodded, leaning back on the mattress. She spread her legs, biting her lip as she looked up at me.

I pushed her legs apart and leaned over her.

  “What are you—oh!”

She fell silent as I ran my tongue over her.

I knew I was good at this, and I wanted to make Autumn feel good. I wanted to make sure she would come back.

She put her hands in my hair, pulling a little.

I smiled to myself, working a little harder, a little faster.

Her voice rose. I could feel the tension in her body as she worked toward her release.

  I didn’t stop.

She let out a cry, her hips lifting off the bed and grinding against my face. I held her, letting her pull my hair as she came.

I lifted my head as she slumped back to the bed. While she recovered, I undressed, found a condom in the nightstand.

  I needed her.

I crawled on the bed, settling over her. She looked up at me and smiled shyly.

“Nobody’s ever made me come before,” she said.

  I raised my eyebrows. “Really?”

  “Yeah.” She nodded.

  “Did you—?”

  “Oh, yeah.” She laughed softly.

I smiled at her. “Let’s see if we can get a second one, huh?”

  She nodded.

  I pushed into her.

She was tight around me, and so hot.

I wasn’t going to last long.

I dropped my head to rest against her shoulder. She shifted under me, and I started to move against her.

Nobody had ever felt this good before.

I started to thrust harder, moaning against her soft skin. She held me tight, her hips rocking against mine.

“Fuck, Autumn.” I tilted my head, biting at her neck.

  She gasped.

  Her body tightened around mine.

I moaned, picking up my pace again.

I needed this. I needed her.

  I needed to finish.

  But not until she did.

And she was so close, I could tell. She was panting again, her face flushed, holding her lower lip between her teeth.

“Fuck,” she panted, her heels digging into my hips.

I slammed down into her and she cried out.

Her body trembled and she pulled me down against her chest.

I thrust deep into her and was done, coming so hard my vision went white.

I never wanted to let her go.

  * * * * *

My alarm went off too early.

I felt like I’d barely slept, but at least I wasn't fighting a hangover.

And I wasn’t alone in my bed.

I rolled to look at Autumn. She was stirring, my alarm having woken her, too.

  I touched her cheek.

“I have to go to work.”
/>
  “Oh, okay. I’ll leave.”

“No, no. You can stay. As long as you like. And when you need to go, I’ll pay for you to get a car.”

  She nodded slowly. “Okay.”

I reached over her. I sent myself a text from her phone, then downloaded Lyft and logged into my account for her. “There,” I said, handing her phone back. “Text me before you go.”

“I will.” She nodded. “Um, see you later?”

  “See you later.”

I got ready quickly and headed out, but I knew that I wouldn’t be able to think of anything but her today.

  Chapter Eleven

  Autumn

I slept a little longer before getting dressed and heading home. I needed to shower before my shift, and try to cram in some time to do my reading for Cody’s class tomorrow.

  I couldn’t believe I’d slept with him.

I couldn’t believe I’d quit my job to sleep with him.

I walked into my apartment, trying to be quiet. Jessie usually slept late, and I didn’t want to wake her.

To my surprise, she was sitting on the couch, dressed in pajamas with her hair in a bun. She looked up at me, wide-eyed.

“Autumn! Where the hell have you been?”

I bit my lip. “Uh…a lot happened.”

“No shit! You quit Bounce? And left with some guy? What the hell were you thinking?!”

“I know, I know! But it was him, Jessie.”

  “Who?”

  “The hot guy—my professor!”

She blinked, her shoulders dropping as the tension relaxed. “Are you serious?”

I nodded. “He took me to this really fancy loft apartment downtown, and he…Jessie, he made me come twice.”

She looked away. “Okay, I mean, that’s great, but…what about rent, Autumn? Is he going to pay our bills?”

I hesitated before replying. “I mean, he said he would take care of me.”

  She raised her eyebrows.

I realized how uncertain that sounded. Sighing, I said, “We’re supposed to talk about it.”

  My phone chimed.

I felt myself blush as I grabbed it.

  Cody.

Home safe? Are you free tonight?

I put it back in my pocket. I’d talk to him later.

I looked to Jessie again. “I need to go shower, so, we’ll talk later?”

Jessie nodded. “Yeah. I think we need to.”

  “We will.”

I went to the shower, closing the door. Under the spray of hot water, I could really let myself think about what was happening, what I wanted.

I wanted to pass my class. I wanted to be able to take care of myself without relying on someone else.

I wanted to be with Cody.

I knew it was fast. I knew I didn’t know much about him. But I was drawn to him, enchanted, and I couldn’t fight it.

We were supposed to be together.

I knew I’d crossed lines. I’d met him at a strip club, and again in class. It was probably a problem for me to be fucking my professor, but…

Well, it’s not like I was doing it to get a better grade.

I had a lot to think about, and not a lot of time to dwell on it. I had to get to work soon, and pray that I could beg my way into a double.

Rent wasn’t going to pay itself, and I wasn’t ready to fully trust Cody yet.

  * * * * *

My feet ached, my muscles were sore, and my phone wouldn’t stop blowing up.

I hadn’t talked to Cody yet. I was tired, and I still had so much to think about.

But he kept texting me, and that worried me just a little.

What if he was controlling? What if he was demanding? Abusive?

I wanted him, but I had to remember that I didn’t know him well.

I tried not to think about him, but God, it was hard.

Every time I paused, even for a second, I could feel his hands on me, his body against mine.

I could still feel the tingly aftershocks of an orgasm.

And as much as I tried to talk myself out of it, I was sure that I would see him again. Probably tonight.

No man had ever gotten under my skin so fast.

Even if he’d cost me a well-paying job, I wanted more.

And with my shift drawing to a close, I was already thinking about what I’d say to him.

My manager came back to find me where I was rolling silverware in the kitchen. “Allison, we just sat you a table. C-7.”

Still not my name, I thought, but smiled and grabbed my notepad. C-7 was in the back, a quiet little booth that was hard to see until you were right up on it.

I almost screamed when I saw who was sitting there.

  Cody.

  Chapter Twelve

  Cody

Autumn sat down in the booth across from me.

Even in her unflattering uniform from the pub, she looked beautiful.

I gave her a smile. “Hi.”

  “What are you doing here?”

I shrugged. “I stopped by Bounce and spoke to your friend. Jessie, I think? The girl you danced with the other night.”

She looked away. “That’s creepy. You know that, right?”

I sighed. Maybe she was right about that. “You weren’t answering my texts and I was worried.”

  “So you stalked me?”

I opened my mouth, closed it again. “I see now that I might be coming on a little strong.”

“A lot strong,” she said in a deadpan.

  “I’m sorry.”

She looked at me, mouth set in a deep frown.

I lowered my gaze. “Really. I’m sorry. I’ve just never felt like this. About anyone.”

Autumn sighed. “It’s just—it’s a lot. I lost out on a good job because of you.”

  “I’m sorry.”

“I have to pay my rent.”

  “I can cover it.”

“What if I don’t want a sugar daddy?”

I blinked. Was that what she thought was happening?

  “Autumn, that’s not—”

“This is happening really fast, Cody.”

I nodded. “I understand. But, please, listen?”

She folded her arms on the table, looking seriously at me.

“I don’t want this to be a fling. I want this to be something real, and I want it to be permanent.”

She put her chin in one hand, still listening.

“I want to take care of you,” I said. “I want to make you happy. I want to see you succeed and finish your degree.”

  “Okay.”

  “Is that all I get?”

She sighed. “I really like you. But this is a lot.”

  “Then we can slow down.”

  “How?”

“I was going to invite you to my place tonight,” I said, “but after what you’ve said, we’ll slow down. Scale back.”

“I still have to see you in class every day. And are you going to keep blowing up my phone?”

I shook my head. “No. And I’ll be professional in class. I promise.”

  Slowly, she nodded. “Okay.”

  “Okay?”

  “Okay.”

I smiled. “Well. May I wait here until your shift is over?”

“Yeah.” She smiled. “I’ll see you in half an hour?”

  I nodded. “I’ll be here.”

  * * * * *

Autumn was in the shower, and I was missing her already.

I knocked on the bathroom door. “Autumn?”

“Yeah?” she called back, over the sound of running water.

I smiled. “Mind if I join you?”

  “Come on in.”

I shed my clothes at the door and walked in.

She was in the walk-in shower, standing under the rainfall panel. Her skin was slick with soap, shiny.

The sight made my cock twitch.

She noticed, raising an eyebrow. “I see what you want.”

  “Can’t help myself. You’re stunnin
g.”

She smiled and beckoned me closer with one finger.

  God, I wanted her.

I stepped into the shower, where I wrapped my arms around her. She leaned against me, looking up with bright eyes.

Her hand curled around my cock, stroking slowly.

  I groaned. “Autumn, damn…”

  She smiled. “Is it good?”

  Like she needed to ask.

  “I want you,” I said.

She nodded. “I want you to make me come like you did last night.”

  “That can be arranged.”

I nudged her back against the wall. She leaned against it, looking up at me with hazy eyes.

I wondered if she knew how sexy she was, what she did to me.

She had to, since my dick was rock-hard in her hand.

She lifted one leg, wrapping the other around my waist.

I put one hand on the wall and slid inside her.

“Fuck,” I panted. “Were you thinking about this, too?”

  She nodded, moaning. “Yes.”

  I bent to kiss her.

She rocked her hips slowly, moving against me.

I watched her as she writhed and moaned. I wanted her to dance for me—not in the club, just privately.

I wanted to watch her move like she had on stage.

I wanted her to fuck me like that.

  “Autumn,” I gasped.

  “God, please, just—fuck me?”

I couldn’t say no to that.

I braced my hand on the wall, thrusting into her.

She gasped, her hips moving to meet mine. I felt every inch of her, wrapped around me like a vise.

One day, I wanted this to last, but not tonight.

I was already on the edge, and I could tell she was, too.

She held my shoulders tight, balancing on her toes as I thrust into her.

And then she cried out, her body tightening, every muscle tense. A flush washed over her face and chest.

I held her tight to keep her standing.

It only took a few more thrusts for me to come, too. I buried myself inside her, still giving a few shallow thrusts as I started to come down.

Autumn looked up at me with her eyes out of focus.

“God,” she said, “you’re good at that.”

  * * * * *

We lay together in my bed. Autumn was on her back, head resting on my shoulder; my arm was around her. We were both naked, only covered by a sheet.

She tilted her head toward me. “So if you run a successful investment firm, why are you teaching?”

I shrugged. “I have my reasons.”

“Oh my god, don’t be so mysterious.” She rolled her eyes.
