Cougar Mom Page 19

“What kind of gift?” she asked, sprawled across his chest.

“A t-shirt that says I <3 MILFs. What the hell is a milf?”

Meredith laughed as she whispered the answer in his ear then gasped as he made her come again because it turned out moms could have sex. And love. Even at her age.

  Back in the USA…

Picking the twins up from school, Portia noticed something. All the kids milling in the yard and on the sidewalks were doing something: bouncing a ball, chatting with friends, shoving each other, or chasing. Not her girls.

They stood side by side, alone, looking uncannily tidy alongside their peers. At their young age, they shouldn’t be so serious.

When was the last time she’d seen them play? What about exercise? Was she parenting them wrong? She’d read all the books. So many of them. Her daughters were brilliant, and already way ahead of their peers scholastically.

But she had obviously forgotten what it was like to be the smart kid in school. The way other kids shunned her. It wasn’t too late, though.

On the drive home, she saw the solution to getting them out of the house and not only meeting new kids but also learning a skill, which was how she camouflaged the idea.

“You want us to learn to kickbox?” Mae said with a wrinkle of her nose.

“I don’t want anyone to hit me,” Lin added, just as repugned.

“This is about learning how to protect yourself,” Portia encouraged. “It will be fun.”

The girls proved less than enthused until they met their instructor, Ted.

Poor Ted never imagined the trouble he’d get into when he decided to help the pretty single mother. But he’s ready for the challenge—if A Tiger Mom will give him a chance.
