Ana saved the day when she said they were laughing at Stefano’s modeling jokes. She snuggled and relaxed against Gabe’s chest. Tired and worn out, she soon fell asleep and Gabe carried her back to her bed.
That night, everybody went to bed early. They ordered a huge feast and celebrated Ana’s waking up from her coma, before they left. Gabe convinced his brothers to go sleep in their own beds. He climbed into her bed and held her as she slept that night.
Early the next morning, a nurse came to take her for tests. They took two hours running all different tests and she came out with flying colors. Dr. Eli Simmons signed her release papers and then Gabe took her home.
They walked into Gabe’s penthouse and were greeted by everyone shouting, “Surprise!” Everyone had been somber for the last several days and now they just wanted to be happy. It was only ten in the morning, but there was alcohol already flowing. Food was all over the kitchen island and diningroom table. Kelly had somehow managed to switch her shift with someone else and she was standing next to her mother.
“Mrs. Andersen. Hi. I didn’t see you for a minute.” Ana went over to Kelly’s mum and they hugged.
“Sorry, I couldn’t get here sooner. How are you feeling?” Julie Andersen asked her.
“I feel better. Just a slight headache that comes and goes. Thank you for coming. I hope Kelly didn’t scare you.”
“I wouldn’t be anywhere else. Unfortunately, David couldn’t make it at all. But he sends his love.”
“Please tell him I said thanks. Sorry, have you been introduced to everyone?”
“Yes, except your young man here. Who do we have here?”
“Gabriel Boyd,” Gabe answered her as he shook her hand.
“Firm handshake. I like you. I’m Kelly’s mother, Julie Andersen. Make sure you take good care of Ana. And thanks for taking care of my daughter too.”
“I will. It’s a pleasure to take care of them both. And thank you for coming.” Gabe pointed to the food and said, “Please feel free to help yourself to anything.”
By lunch time the food had been cleaned up and most of the people had left to run errands. The rest were scattered between the living room and the dining room. Ana had gone to lie down. Between the medication she took, that made her drowsy and her body still trying to adjust from the vegetative state it had been for the past few days, she was sleeping a lot. The doctor had said it was nothing to be worried about. He body and brain needed to heel, so sleeping would be the best thing for her to do now. And she needed to be on bed rest for at least a week before she resumed any normal activities, and even then she needed to take things slow at first. She was up for a short while during dinner then went back to sleep again.
The next day, Ana felt better and managed to stay awake for longer hours. She spent some time with her parents who were flying back the next day. Her brothers were going back too. Her mother was hovering, and Ana was grateful when Gabe’s mom took her parents to her house for lunch.
Kelly’s mum came to say goodbye, she was leaving that afternoon. Evelyn popped in and out the whole day. She said she was meeting with clients that lived close by, so instead of going back to her office, she came to chat. Stefano was also in and out with Manuel. It seemed like the romance was blooming. Ana was glad her friend was leaving tomorrow to pack before coming back to settle in New York. Hopefully things would work out with Manuel so he wouldn’t have to uproot again.
Nate and Rafe spent most of the day at the office and then spent the last part of the afternoon enclosed with Gabe, Mark and Matt in Gabe’s home office. Mrs. Jones, Gabe’s housekeeper was pottering about the house. She had been coming in everyday since Ana’s accident. She seemed to be loving the extra cooking and cleaning and refusing help too. She had once complained that cooking for one person wasn’t fun but was hoping that since Gabe was dating Ana, maybe there would be little ones running around the house soon. Ana had blushed prettily, but assured her that their relationship wasn’t like that.
After dinner Ana sat with her brothers and told them she was seriously thinking of merging with Nate and Rafe’s company, Sullivan & Sullivan. They were worried that she was rushing into a decision soon after a head injury, but she assured them that she had been thinking about it for a while now, and this head injury of hers just cemented a few issues for her. But she needed them to draft an agreement for her which gave her the power to work as freely as she has been doing. She needed to make sure that her clients, big and small would be given the same service she had been giving them over the years, that she maintain a home office and a work office too, get the best evaluation for her company, especially considering some of her patents which she didn’t think they were aware of. Maybe see if she can exchange some of that for stock, but she wasn’t interested in majority stock or administrative duties.
“Have you talked to them yet, Ana?” Mark asked her after she had run through her list.
“They approached me a few times, and I always told them ‘no’; but a few weeks ago they actually set up a meeting with me where they did it formally and I liked some of their ideas. I don’t want them to know until you are done with your agreement. After that then we can haggle out some other details, but I really need this done asap. I hate that my clients are probably trying to get hold of me and I am out of commission. Besides, this way I can set my own terms versus if I had been looking for a job, then I would have just become another employee.”
“Have you talked to Gabe?” Mark asked again.
“No, I don’t want him involved in my business. That’s always been our agreement. But I will tell him soon.”
“If you are sure, then we will get right down to it.” Matt stood and hugged her. “You’ve always been our best customer, one of the few that pays their bills on time anyway.”
They all chuckled then Ana told them she would see them in the morning before they left. She went to bed and left them discussing her proposal.
Gabe found her fast asleep when he came to bed an hour later. He sat and just stared at her for a while before finally succumbing to sleep and joining her in bed. In the morning, he woke her with kisses. When she was fully awake, he kissed her deeply and hungrily and with all the love he had for her. “I love you,” he told her. He stopped before the kiss could get out of hand and while he could still remember that she was still recovering from a head injury. “Your parents and brothers will be leaving soon. Do you want to take a shower?”
“Yes, but after we finish what you started.” Before Gabe could react, Ana pulled his head back for a kiss and clamped his lips with hers. She pushed her tongue into his mouth and sucked his upper lip. She moved until her body was flash against his and felt his morning hard on against her belly. Ana moaned and brought one hand down to hold his erection.
Gabe’s blood rushed down and settled in his lower body, mostly in his cock. His balls were swollen needing relief, but with Ana out of commission he knew he would just have to suffer until the week was up. He had no intention of relieving himself in the shower, but this was killing him. When Ana touched his cock with her small gentle hand, he felt his juices sprout out in short spurts. “Fuck Ana. We can’t.” He took her hand and held it away trying to compose himself. “Doctor’s orders remember?”
“Didn’t he also say that sex would help me heal faster?” she questioned and tried to twist her hand away.
“I’m pretty sure I would have heard that one. You have no idea how much I just want to sink myself into you. Besides, this isn’t something we can start with your parents about to leave for the airport in less than an hour now.”
“Isn’t the whole idea of a jet that it can leave at anytime?”
He grinned at her. “And you would explain your delay in wishing them a safe trip by saying what?”
“Medicating?”
He chuckled and shook his head at her. “Come on,” he said and lifted her up. “I’m not sure I’m prepared to get another fist in my jaw.”
“I love you
too, you know?” she asked him.
“I know baby.”
They joined them at the breakfast table. Goodbyes were exchanged and Ana had to promise to take it slow, before her mother was satisfied enough to go into the limo that was taking them to the airport where they were boarding Gabe’s jet back to Dallas.
Stefano came to spend the day with her before he too had to be whisked away by Manuel to catch his flight for London.

Note from the Author
This is my second book and I hope there are less mistakes compared to the first book. I apologise but promise to get better and better as I write more books. As Ana and Gabe’s story continues, Kelly and Rafe’s story starts, and Eva meets someone. What about Nate? We will have to see. But Stefano relocates to New York and begins a relationship with Manuel. I look forward to witnessing the journeys of all couples and how they end up finding love. Please feel free to contact me via my e-mail address: [email protected]
All the best,
