Synalia (sin-NAL-ee-yah) the capital of Garrowye where the king of Garrowye was born and where he holds the seat of power; also renowned for its fine but potent wine.
Talena (ta-LEE-na) A Garrowyean mercenary
Tamnagh (TAM-nah) a kingdom in north central Ard-Taebh and Alaric’s birthplace (see map)
Taneslaw (TANES-law) An ancient kingdom in The Ranges where the Aelfyn still worship the White One (see map)
Thunor (THUE-nor) Haxon god of battle and fertility
Turlough Greenfyn (TERR-low GREEN-fin) High Mage of the Council of Mageborn, distant uncle to Fenelon Greenfyn, and a rather sour old coot at that
Vagner (VOG-ner) a greater demon (one with five fingers and toes) of the Youngerkin who loves music
Wendon Stanewold (WEN-don STAIN-wold) a mageborn who wants to be a master mageborn
Wotan (WHOA-tan) All Father, chief god of the Haxons
Yewer (YOU-er) easternmost kingdom of Ard-Taebh (see map)
Ymir (EE-mer) The legendary giant whose body was used to create the world (Haxon myth)
Youngerkin (YUN-ger-kin) Demons born after the Corruption.

Laura J. Underwood sometimes wonders if she was influenced by all those books she used to place on the floor and walk on as a child before she started reading them, or if it is just the plain fact that her entire family likes to tell stories, and she likes to write stories down. She is the author of Hounds Of Ardagh, Dragon’s Tongue, Ard Magister, Song Of Silver, The Lunari Mask and The City Under The Bridge.
Her short fiction has been seen everywhere from Marion Zimmer Bradley’s Fantasy Magazine to anthologies such as Turn The Other Chick, Bubbas Of The Apocalypse, Sword And Sorceress, Strip Mauled, The Book Of Tentacles, and A Bubba In Time Saves None, as well as a host of her own collected works.
When not writing, she is a librarian who lives in East Tennessee with her folks and a cat that needs a brain transplant (because she has concluded that he doesn’t have one—really). She is an active member of SFWA and a member of the SFWA Musketeers who likes to play with pointy steely objects from time to time.
