Editorial Reviews of Spirit of Lost Angels

… I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE when a book sucks me in and is so engrossing that I get ticked when I have to put it down. As a reader, it made me feel as though I was being written into the pages of the book. I simply love when that happens. I always say to people that those who refuse to read indie published books lose out on dynamic novels and this book is definitely an example of why I feel that way. I would not be surprised if this is a book I find in the collection of a large publishing house in the future … Naomi B (A Book and A Review): http://abookandareview.blogspot.fr/

The writing is superb, the sights, sounds and smells of a city in turmoil is brought vividly to life … Josie Barton: http://jaffareadstoo.blogspot.fr/2012/08/author-interview-liza-perrat.html

Spirit of Lost Angels is a tale to lose oneself in … Liza Perrat persuasively combines fact and fiction in this engrossing novel. The peasants fury, the passion building up to the Bastille storming, and the sense of political explosion are just a few of the vivid illustrations in Spirit of Lost Angels … Andrea Connell: http://thequeensquillreview.com/2012/10/10/review-spirit-of-lost-angels-by-liza-perrat/

… escapist fun –– Francophiles will want this one and those who enjoy historical fiction that doesn't focus on royals … great fun for the summer read –– and I can’t wait to see what Perrat does next … Audra (Unabridged Chick): http://unabridged-expression.blogspot.fr/2013/05/spirit-of-lost-angels-by-liza-perrat.html

Coming next in L’Auberge des Anges series …

Midwife Héloïse – Blood Rose Angel

1348. A bone-carved angel talisman –– family heirloom, evil curse, holy relic. And Héloïse Dumortier, the midwife-healer woman who wears it –– heretic, Devil’s servant, saint.

When the Black Plague arrives, sweeping across France, the superstitious villagers begin to ask who or what is to blame for this pestilence. Fire and foul winds from the East, or the stinking miasmas of stagnant lakes? Is it some malign conjunction of the planets, or God’s wrath against sinners? Perhaps it is the curse of a mere woman.

Amidst the terror, grief and contagion, Héloïse must find the courage and compassion to care for birthing women and plague-stricken victims. She must also fight against those who accuse her.
