  Chapter 26

Fred sat at the foot of his bed puffing on a Blunt filled with Kush while his right leg shook uncontrollably. There it was after five in the morning and Kendra was nowhere to be found. Fred was going crazy. He’d called La-La and Heaven both and they said she had left Heaven’s house damn near six hours ago. Something wasn’t right. Where the fuck could she be?

“Hello?” Fred answered his ringing phone without paying attention to the caller ID, hoping it was Kendra.

“What’s up, bruh? Still no word?” Zylen asked. He was trying not to think the worst. Zylen didn’t want to think Kendra had up and left Fred to go back to Jamal or even worst, that she was helping Jamal come back and retaliate. There was no doubt in Zylen’s mind that Jamal would come for him sooner or later when he found out he was in town. Why he hadn’t yet, Zylen didn’t know; but he felt it was coming and he was going to get Jamal before he got him.

“Nah, man. I know she ain’t with that nigga. I just feel that something done happened to her. Fuck! Man, she’s carrying my mothafucking seed. I gotta find her.” Fred’s voice cracked and Zylen could tell he was on the verge of crying.

“Man, I’m on the way over. I got my niggas on top of shit as we speak. I don’t know if she’s with that nigga or not, but we about to find out. I’ll be there in about five minutes. Be ready when we get there.” Without waiting for a response, Zylen ended the call.

Just as he said, approximately five minutes later, Zylen and Ali were in front of Fred’s house. Once Fred was in the car they were on their way.

Zylen may have been out of the game but that didn’t mean he didn’t have niggas still working for him. Dee was a youngin’ that was on his team for the longest and could pull up anyone’s information. Zylen didn’t know how that nigga did what he did but he was able to get the location of Jamal. Pulling in front of a nice two-story home, Zylen shut off the engine. He rubbed his hands together, anxious to take that nigga Jamal out. He was planning on doing what he thought he had did at first when that nigga disrespected Heaven and called his unborn child a bastard.

“Yo, who live here?” Fred asked. Zylen had yet to tell him where they was headed.

“Got word that nigga Jamal was in the area. We’re going to see what’s up.” Zylen reached under the seat and pulled out a 9 mm and gave it to Fred. Fred took it, even though he was strapped. Didn’t hurt to have two. Ali handed Zylen the AK that he was holding and they exited the car.

Making their way down a few houses from where they were parked, they crept up to an abandoned house. It was boarded up and looked as if it didn’t belong in that neighborhood.

“Yo, I’m going around back and going in. Y’all niggas stay up here and I’ll let y’all in when I see what’s up,” Zylen said quickly.

“Nah, bruh, I’m not letting you go up in there by yourself. I’m coming with you. Fred, you stay up here. Anybody try running out, shoot first and ask question last,” Ali ordered then he and Zylen disappeared before Fred could object. Ali didn’t know what they were up against so there was no way in hell he was letting Zylen go in that house by himself. Yeah, he had mad love for Fred but he and Zylen had been rocking together since he could remember so it was only right they entered the house together.

Zylen was on the verge of throwing up everything that was in his stomach as they walked through the house that smelt so fucking bad. It was semi-dark with a hall light that looked as if it would go out at any minute. As Ali approached the front door to let Fred in, Zylen took the barrel of the AK and knocked off the dim hall light. The sound of movements and grunts that were coming from up the stairs didn’t go unheard.

“Yo, y’all hear that shit?” Fred asked as they crept up the stairs. His blood begin to boil. Just as they hit the top stairs, everything became quiet. Fred saw nothing but red, not knowing exactly what to expect. Not giving a fuck what Zylen or Ali thought about his next move, Fred gave the door one kick, kicking it off the hinges. Neither one of them was prepared for the sight before them.

There Kendra laid with her hands and feet tied to the poles that were attached to the bed, unconscious in a puddle of blood. Jamal was standing on the side of the bed with a damn smirk on his face. He knew they were coming soon but he didn’t think it would be that soon. He was hoping to be far away by the time they found Kendra. He should have knew better.

Fred rushed over to Kendra’s side while Zylen and Ali held Jamal at gunpoint.

“This shit has nothing to do with y’all. This between my bitch and me,” stated Jamal, angrily.

“I see you still an ol’ disrespectful ass bitch,” said Zylen as his trigger finger itched. Being that Ali had always been the shoot first type of nigga, Zylen was surprised he hadn’t already pulled the trigger on Jamal.

“Zylen, my beef ain’t with you, bruh. I’m over that shit that went down between me and you. All is forgiven. I just wanna get my bitch and leave.”

All is forgiven? That nigga had to be out his fucking mind.

Before anyone knew what happened Fred was beating the shit out of Jamal with the gun.

“Stupid mothafucka’! I’m gon’ kill yo’ bitch ass.” Fred continued beating him.

Zylen helped Ali with untying Kendra while keeping a close eye on the door, making sure there weren’t going to be any unexpected guests interfering. Zylen wanted badly to off Jamal himself but this shit had become more personal for Fred than for him. Jamal had done the ultimate no-no. Kidnapping Kendra was bad but to do it while she was damn near ready to drop was pushing it too fucking far. Jamal didn’t have any respect for women at all.

The next sound that was heard was Fred pumping hot lead into Jamal’s body. Once they was sure that he was indeed dead, they left out, rushing Kendra to the hospital.

“Shit ma, you sucking the fuck outta this dick,” Zylen grunted out as his head fell back onto the couch. He hadn’t had sex in a month and needed to release stress in the worst way. “Fuck, you gon’ make a nigga nut. Sssss. Fuuuuck!” He pushed her head back.

“What’s wrong? You tapping out on me?” She tried reaching for his dick again but Zylen slapped her hand away. He reached inside his pocket and pulled out a Magnum, ripped it open with his teeth, and rolled it on his solid hard penis.

“Come ride this big mothafucka’!” he ordered. With a smile on her face, Danielle wasted no time climbing on and going to work.

Zylen met Danielle two weeks ago at the grocery store. He wasn’t planning on taking things that far with her. Going out on a few dates was enough for him. After all, he was still a married man—at the moment anyways. Even though he and Heaven were going through shit, he still wasn’t trying to cheat on her. He loved his wife no matter what, but he just couldn’t be with her anymore. What was a relationship without trust? He knew he would never be able to fully trust Heaven and that was the reason he filed for a divorce. There was no working shit out!

Just thinking about the infidelity of his wife, Zylen became angry all over again and that caused him to murder Danielle’s pussy. Zylen lifted her up and bent her over the arm of the couch.

“Ugh! Oh my fucking… Shit, Zy!” Danielle yelled out as he entered her roughly. That rough shit was what she liked and it was as if Zylen knew it. He was hitting all the right spots, smacking her ass, pulling her hair, and just driving her insane. Danielle reached down and rubbed her clit. “I’m about to cum, baby. Yesss, keep hitting that pussy just like that. Shit,”

It wasn’t long before she creamed all over his dick and shortly after Zylen pulled out and released his seed inside the Magnum he was wearing.

“Damn, baby! I didn’t know you was working that shit like that,” Danielle said, out of breath. Zylen just chuckled and walked into the bathroom. He thought sleeping with Danielle would make him feel a little better but it made him feel like shit. His heart was still with his wife and it was going to take a while for him to get over her. The kind of love Heaven and Zylen shared was the kind th
at wouldn’t go away overnight.

“Baby, can we go out to dinner and a movie tonight?” Danielle asked when Zylen walked out the bathroom. He nodded his head and she headed to go get dressed.

While Danielle was getting dressed, Zylen didn’t know why but Heaven was heavy on his mind. It had been three weeks since he’d last seen her and that was at the hospital when they rushed Kendra there that night. Even before then it had been a while since he’d seen Heaven. When he would get the kids, he would have Ali to go pick them up or Heaven’s mother, Sunshine. The hurt was still fresh in his heart and he couldn’t stand the sight of his wife. But why did he feel that he needed to see her? Maybe it was closure that Zylen needed. He didn’t know what the reason might have been but he had to see her.

“Yo Dan, I’m going to have to take a rain check on that dinner and movie. I have some shit to handle.” Zylen saw disappointment in her eyes but she tried to smile to cover it up.

“Okay, boo. It’s cool. Go handle your business,” she said as she stood on her tiptoes and gave him a peck on the lips. Zylen smacked her ass, told her he would hit her later, and left.

He made a detour before going to Heaven’s house but when he got there she wasn’t there. Using his key, Zylen let himself in and looked around as if it was his first time being there. He hadn’t been to that house in so long, he felt like an intruder. Going into his once man cave, he made himself a drink and rolled a couple of Blunts while listening to Pandora. He was in his chill mood so he had the Usher station blasting through the surround sound. He chuckled and shook his head when Papers by Usher played. That shit was hitting close to home for him.

I’m ready to sign them papers, papers, papers

I’ve took all I can take, but you leave me no options, girl

I can’t deny how much I love you, I’d give up everything I had to

As hard as it is, I’m afraid I gotta say

Zylen sang the words to the song. Unbeknownst to him, Heaven was standing right behind him with tears rolling down her cheeks. Being separated from Zylen was one of the hardest things Heaven had to do. All she needed was for him to realize she never meant to hurt him and she was willing to do whatever she could to make things right.

Heaven walked around and kneeled down in front of him, between his legs. Zylen hated to say it but he saw so much love in Heaven’s eyes, so much hurt. He knew it was killing her as much as it was killing him that they were apart.

For what seemed like forever, they just stared into each other eyes, not saying a word. That was until Zylen took the remote and turned down the radio.

“Where my kids?” he asked. The tears continued to fall from Heaven’s eyes and she didn’t care. She wanted Zylen to know how it was killing her to know she’d caused him pain.

  “At my mother’s house.”

Zylen nodded his head and looked away, only to stare back into Heaven’s eyes through his narrowed eyes.

“Have you fucked him besides that one time?” he asked.

“No. I promise, Zylen, it was only that one time I told you. I put it on my kids!”

Zylen didn’t say anything. The look on his face made Heaven uncomfortable but she wasn’t going to let him know that.

“I’m so sorry, Zylen. I love you so much and never meant for this shit to happen. I made a mistake! A mistake, Zylen! One fucking mistake and you can’t forgive me?! You’re willing to throw everything that we built away just like that?”

Zylen didn’t say anything. Am I ready to walk away? he wondered to himself.

“Huh? You going to walk away from us? Your kids?” Heaven looked at him with pitiful eyes. She reached up and locked her arms around Zylen’s neck, bring him down where her lips covered his. Surprisingly, he didn’t pulled back. Zylen allowed her lips to attack his.

“I’m sorry. God, I’m sorry, Zylen,” Heaven whispered over and over between kisses. She began to fumble with his belt buckle but Zylen stopped her. Though he would love to have some of Heaven’s bomb head at the moment, he couldn’t. Letting his wife put her mouth on his dick that he’d just fuck another woman with a few hours prior wasn’t an option. Whether he wore a condom or not, he wasn’t going out like that. Now dicking her down, was a different story.

Zylen lifted Heaven in the air and carried her up the stairs of the basement then upstairs to the master bedroom. Walking into the bathroom, Zylen put Heaven down so he could run the water for a shower. Heaven wasted no time stripping out her clothes. She longed for her husband’s touch. Inside the shower all Zylen wanted to do was tend to his wife’s needs. He kissed, licked, and sucked on every inch of Heaven’s body. Once he was done, he carried Heaven to the bedroom where he made sweet love to her for hours.

Heaven laid in Zylen’s arms after their love session. She would be lying if she said she wasn’t happy he decided to come back to her. But did he? Though he’d just made love to her body in a way that he never had before, Heaven still didn’t know where they stood in their marriage. After all, he did have her served some divorce papers.

Maybe that was a goodbye fuck, she thought.

“Zylen, do this mean you forgive me and are coming back home?” Heaven just had to know.

  She felt Zylen tense up.

Damn, I knew this shit was coming. Am I ready to forgive her ass yet? Zylen said to himself. His brain was all over the place. He loved Heaven more than anything but he didn’t know if he could look at her without wanting to strangle her ass. He knew Derrick was no longer going to be an issue because he did as he said he would do if Heaven ever cheated on him. He killed Derrick and didn’t feel any remorse about it. But there was still no telling if Heaven would step out on him with someone else and he wasn’t willing to take that chance.

“Are you going to answer me?” Heaven had sat up and asked. Zylen began to get out of bed slowly. That alone broke Heaven’s heart.

“I don’t know, Heaven. I have a lot of shit to think about.” He began putting on his clothes.

“Zylen, please don’t do this shit. Can we at least talk? After what we just shared you’re still willing to give up just like that? I said I was fucking sorry. What more do you want me to do?!” Heaven screamed.

“Man, I didn’t say I was giving up! I just said I need to think about some things. Don’t start all that yelling and shit. It’s not my fault you couldn’t keep your legs closed. Was I not giving you enough dick? Or was it not good enough? I mean, tell me what the fuck made you cheat,” Zylen said as he put on his hat and grabbed his keys.

Heaven couldn’t even answer his question. How could she when she had no accurate reason for cheating? Yes, the dick was indescribably good and she could get it whenever and however she wanted. So why she cheated, she still didn’t have the answer.

“You wanted to talk so answer my fucking question.”

“Just go, Zylen!” was all Heaven mustered out. Zylen chuckled and shook his head.

“You can’t even answer the fucking question because you didn’t have a reason to step out on me. Do me a favor and sign the divorce papers! I’m out.” With that Zylen walked out the bedroom and didn’t look back.

It was really over and Heaven only had herself to blame. Heaven wasn’t able to fight temptation and one drunken night cost her her marriage. Hearing the front door slam shut, she got out of bed, walked over to her dresser, grabbed the brown envelope and pulled the divorce papers out.

This is it, Heaven thought while grabbing a pen and singing her name. Surprisingly, she didn’t even shed a tear. She was all cried out. Why continue to cry? It wasn’t like the tears would bring Zylen back to her. If it was meant to be then he would come back, if not then maybe it was one of the things that wasn’t meant to be. Heaven told Zylen when he first sent the papers that once she signed them it was definitely over. He asked her for the last time to sign them and that was what she did. Heaven gave Zylen exactly what he wanted and there was no turning back.

  Epilogue

  3 years later
/>   The day Zylen walked out on Heaven was the worst day of her life. The man she’d loved most of her life walking out on her was not at all what she anticipated. Zylen was supposed to have been hers forever. Til death did them apart. But Zylen, on the other hand, didn’t see it that way. Once you fuck over him and toy with his heart there was no turning back. Ali tried talking sense into him but Zylen’s stubborn ass wasn’t trying to hear what anyone had to say. Until they walked a mile in his shoes, no mothafucka’ could tell him shit about his relationship and he let them know that. Eventually everyone backed off.

Things had finally gotten back to normal for the gang. It took Kendra some time to get over what Jamal had done to her. Yes, Jamal had raped her numerous times during their relationship but never once did she think he would stoop so low as to kidnap, beat, and rape her while she was pregnant. Fred killing him was the best thing that could’ve happened to her, besides the good Lord giving her son a second chance of living. During the rape and beating, Kendra had lost so much blood that her son was fighting for his life. She was told that he’d even flat lined but because it wasn’t his time to go, he was given a second chance. She and Fred called JR. their little miracle child. They were at a great place and Kendra couldn’t have picked a better man and friends.

La-La and Ali’s relationship was what every hood girl desired to have. Their relationship was so fucking perfect from the outside that even Heaven envied it at times. Heaven knew that no relationship was perfect and she didn’t know what went on with them behind closed doors but from the outside looking in, they seemed to have had their shit together. As Heaven stated many times before, she was happy for La-La and if anyone deserved happiness it was definitely her.

After Heaven and Zylen’s divorce he began dating Danielle. Things were good for the first year. She was like his best friend that he could vent to about any and everything. During that year, Zylen still wasn’t ready to fully commit himself to Danielle. She was ready to broadcast their relationship to the world but he wasn’t ready to do that just yet. Truth be told, he wasn’t over Heaven. Zylen felt it was only right to hide his relationship from Heaven, not knowing she already knew. Danielle couldn’t handle it and gave Zylen an ultimatum: either let Heaven know about them or it was over. She didn’t understand why if he and Heaven were divorced he felt it was best to hide the fact that he’d moved on. It didn’t take a rocket scientist to know that Zylen was still in love with Heaven and eventually he let Danielle go.
