I look over at Nina, “See how easy that was. Now you try it.”
Nina walks towards the second one as I’m right beside her. She sticks her hand nervously in between them, then hesitantly raises her hand with the knife as she stabs the Zombie in the forehead. Then she looks at me with surprise, “Wow! I did it!”
I give her a high five, “Good job, Nina, I knew you could do it.”
I walk behind the desk as I look for the room keys. I pick a couple of them out, just in case the first one or two aren’t very good rooms to stay in.
Nina and I walk outside together, where Parker and Mandy are patiently waiting. I look over them, “Nina, here, killed a Zombie in there. All by herself.”
Parker and Mandy both hold their hands up for high fives. Nina high fives them both. Then we walk over to the rooms. I hold up the key for the closest room. I look at the three of them, “Okay, now stand back, we don’t know what’s in this room.”
I take the key as I slowly unlock and open the door. I peek inside. Well, the room looks like it hasn’t been used in a while. It’s nice and clean, the beds are made, everything is in its place. I turn around and look at them, “Okay, it looks good, you can come in. But, I’m going to check the bathroom real quick, just to make sure there isn’t one hiding in there.”
I check the bathroom and behind the shower curtain, and there’s nothing in there.
As I’m walking back out in the main room, both kids are passed out on the same bed.
“Wow, they’re already asleep, I wasn’t even gone for a minute.”
Nina chuckles, “I guess all that walking wore them out.”
“Yeah, I guess so.” I walk up to Nina as I wrap my arms around her waist, “Want to go into the bathroom and have hot wild sex?”
She looks at me and laughs, “You’re a little horn dog!” She whispers loudly.
“Only with you. You’re so beautiful and sexy, I find myself having a hard time not wanting to be with you.”
She takes my hand as she leads me to the bathroom. Once we’re both inside, she shuts the door, takes off her shirt, bra, pants and panties.
I can feel myself getting excited as I watch her strip her clothes off. I take off my shirt, my pants and boxers and I’m already hard. I lift her up against the counter as I stick myself inside her. She arches backwards as she lets out a low moan. I begin thrusting inside of her as she wraps her legs around my waist and her arms around my neck. We both get dressed, then we sneak out of the bathroom like two teenagers sneaking around, so they don’t get caught. We walk over to our bed and try to go to sleep.

In the morning, I was the first one awake. Before I get out of bed, I give Nina a little shake, “Hey, I’m going to the office to try and find out where they keep the food for the continental breakfast.”
She opens her eyes as she looks at me with confusion, then she realizes what I’m saying, “Do you want me to go with you?”
I shake my head, “Nah…I should be fine. If I sense any danger, I’ll turn around and come back here.”
She nods, “Okay, be careful, I’ll be right here.”
I walk out of the room and I walk down the sidewalk towards the office. I open the door to the office as I turn the corner to look for the spot where they keep the breakfast items. As I’m rummaging around looking for breakfast items, I turn around and there’s a Zombie right behind me! Where in the world did he come from? I take my knife and I stab him in the side of his head. I shake my head as I turn around and continue looking for breakfast items. Voila! There they are. As I’m in the middle of grabbing things, I turn around and there’s suddenly three Zombies behind me! Shit! I begin to back up, and as I’m backing up, I notice another one coming up behind the three that were already standing there! Now, they’re blocking the exit for me to leave this room! As I look around the room, I notice that there’s no other exit…plus…I just realized…I’ve just backed myself up into a corner…literally…
Chapter 30
Harley and Isaac & Ryder and Kassi
I wake up the next morning, still wrapped in Isaac’s arms. Oh, how I love waking up like this, it’s almost like old times, old times like before the Zombies.
I roll towards Isaac as I look at his handsome face. Oh, how I love him so much. He begins to stir, then he opens his eyes, looks at me, then smiles, “Good morning, Harley.”
“Good morning, Isaac.”
“Should we get up and get some breakfast?”
I chuckle, “No, how about we just lay in bed all day.”
He laughs, “Oh, how I wish.”
I look at him confused, “Why can’t we? We’re adults, we don’t have to go to work, why not just lay in bed all day. We’re safe in here.”
Isaac leans on his arm as he gazes into my eyes, “Because there’s two other people here and we’re heading to Montana with them to be on a safe ranch, with sturdy fences wrapped around the property so that we don’t have to worry about the Zombies.”
I look at him with a pout, “Fine, whatever. I just wanted to take a break for a day, to relax and recoup from everything, that’s all.”
He puts his hand on my cheek as he continues gazing into my eyes, “I understand, Harley, I do, but we’ve committed to going with them. I mean, unless they’d like to stay for an extra day, that’s fine with me.”
I nod reluctantly in agreement with him, “Fine, we’ll go.” I give him a kiss on his lips, then I turn the opposite direction as I get out of bed, search for my clothes that were thrown on the floor and get dressed.
Isaac climbs out of bed also, as he searches for all his pieces of clothing too. After we’re both dressed, we open the bedroom door and walk out into the kitchen.
Kassi and Ryder are both sitting at the table, eating donuts and drinking coffee. I look at them confused, “Where did you get the coffee?”
“They had a couple of jars of instant coffee that we stole from the Diner.” Ryder replied matter-of-factly.
I look at him confused, “Well, how did you make it?”
“We built a fire out back and heated up some water, do you want some?”
I give him a duh look, “Of course, I do.”
Ryder goes out back to get hot water, then he walks back inside as if he’s seen a ghost. Isaac and I look at him dumbfounded, “What’s wrong?”
“There’s a herd of Zombies coming this way.”
Ryder, Kassi and I all walk over to the window to look outside. We all stand there, frozen.
Isaac looks at Ryder frantically, “You need to put out that fire…NOW!”
Ryder grabs a bowl of water and dumps it on top of the fire. Then rushes back inside, looking at us with deer in headlight eyes, “There’s like…at least a hundred of them out there…”
We look out the window as they are all sauntering from the woods, surrounding the cabin that we’re in. Isaac looks at all of us with serious eyes, “We need to stay calm, stay quiet and don’t move.” Then he looks at Ryder, “We need to make sure that all doors and windows are locked…quietly. Even the basement one, just in case they break one of the windows down there and get inside the basement.”
Isaac and Ryder check all the doors and windows. Isaac notices that the lock is broken on the front door, he looks at us, “We need to quietly move some more furniture up against the door here so that it doesn’t open, i
n case they try getting inside.”
Kassi, Ryder and I move furniture up against that door, we tried to be quiet, but it was a little difficult because some of the furniture is heavy.
As we’re doing that, we hear banging on the back door. We all stop in our tracks and hold our breath, as we all look at each other with deer eyes. Isaac holds his index finger up to his lips as he quietly walks towards the back door. We hear more banging…along with scratching noises.
Isaac comes walking back towards us, “Um…I think that fire may have attracted them, because a bunch of them seem to be moving towards the back door where the fire was.”
Ryder tries to remain positive, “Well, maybe then we can sneak out the front door.”
Isaac gets a serious tone in his voice, “Did you see how many are out there? I said a bunch of them were going to the back door, not all of them. There’s got to be a couple hundred of them wandering through the property right now. A bunch of them have migrated to the back door.” Isaac opens the curtain to the front of the house as we all look out and it looks everybody trying to leave a concert all at the same time.
I look at Isaac frantically, “What do we do if they are able to get inside here?”
Isaac shakes his head, “I don’t know…that’s why I said that we need to remain calm and quiet.”
Ryder looks out the window as he shakes his head, “Where in the world did they come from? And how in the world did they manage to all find each other?”
We all shake our heads as we stare out the window. Isaac walks towards the back of the house, “Well, I don’t see an end to them. I was hoping that at least they’d be ending soon, but there doesn’t seem to be one.”
The banging at the back door gets louder and more frequent. I look at Isaac as I whisper, “What if the door breaks?”
Isaac puts his hands on my face as he gazes into my eyes, “I don’t know. Let’s just pray that it doesn’t.”
I look at him as tears fill my eyes, “I’m scared, Isaac, I’m really scared.”
He pulls me into his chest as I begin to break down in tears.
Kassi walks over to Ryder as she asks, “Well, what do we do?”
Ryder shrugs his shoulders, “I don’t know, Kassi, I don’t know. Hope that they don’t get inside here.”
Suddenly, we hear a cracking noise, Ryder looks at the back door, then at us with panic on his face as he grabs Kassi and runs in our direction as he screams, “THE BASEMENT! RUN TO THE BASEMENT!”
Chapter 31
Candi and Chase & Adam, Ana and A.J.
I wake up in Chase’s arms, shivering. I sit up and stretch my arms out. I shake Chase, “Hey babe, wake up.”
Chase opens his eyes as he smiles at me, “Hey babe. Then he sits up, “Wow…it’s cold.”
“Yeah, it is.” I grab a sweater from my backpack, one that I stole from a car yesterday, and I put it on as I step outside of our tent.
Ana is sitting there, drinking coffee, just like yesterday morning. I look at the lake and the mountains, as it makes me feel refreshed. I sit down next to Ana as she offers me a cup of coffee.
“That’d be great, thanks.” I accept the cup. I look around, “Wow, it’s so rejuvenating out here, isn’t it?”
Ana nods with a faint smile, “Yes, it is. It’s very tranquil, serene. Peaceful. If only everywhere were like this.”
I nod in agreement, “Yeah, but unfortunately, it’s not.”
Chase comes walking out, Ana also offers him a cup of coffee, he smiles at her as he also accepts, “Thanks, Ana, you’re the best.”
The three of us sit out there, in the cold air, enjoying the peacefulness of the now.
A few minutes later, Adam and A.J. join us. They also sit down as they accept coffee from Ana.
We all sit there, quietly. Then Chase asks Adam, “So, what’s the plan for today.”
Adam thinks for a moment, “Well, I’m thinking I like this area. Maybe we could find a place to stay out here, kind of in the middle of nowhere. It’s quiet, and what are the chances of Zombies climbing mountains. What do you think?”
Chase and I look at each other, Chase nods, then I look at Chase curiously, “What about being a Zombie Killer and saving the World and being a Hero?”
“Eh, I’d rather settle down with you and procreate.”
I look at him completely dumbfounded, “What?”
“I’d rather settle down with you and procreate.”
A.J. looks at us and smiles, “Hey, that was my idea! You stole my idea!”
Chase looks at him and smiles, “Yeah, A.J., thanks for giving me the great idea. I’ll give you credit for that.”
“Only if you name your firstborn son Adam the third.”
Chase and I both stare at A.J. with confusion, then I turn my eyes back on Chase, “What are you even talking about? I don’t even want a baby for a while.”
Chase shrugs, “Someday then, it doesn’t have to be now. It was just something I was saying I’d like to do someday.”
I nod in agreement, “Yeah…fine…someday…”
He gets down on one knee, “Does that mean…you’ll marry me…someday?”
I look at him in shock, as my eyes pop out of my head and my jaw drops to the floor, I look at him as if he’s gone crazy…who is this guy? I stand up as I look at everybody…I think I’ve gone into shock…I think that Chase has gone crazy…I thought that we were just friends with benefits…I mean…I knew he liked me and I knew I liked him…and I know that we’ve told each other that we love each other…but I didn’t know whether or not is was love love…I thought that it was a friend kind of love. I mean…I think I might love love him…I think…wait…yes…I think I might. I think I love him…I think I may even be in love with him. But…do I want to marry him? I know that it would be hard to do right now…because of this crazy Zombie predicament we’re in right now…but…do I? I look at Chase as he’s looking at me with anticipation, “Um…I don’t know…I’m really confused right now…with all the craziness…” Everybody is staring at me right now. I stand up as I walk away.
I hear Chase running up behind me, “Candi! What are you doing? Where are you going?”
I turn around and look at him, “Why did you do that to me?”
Chase looks confused, “What?”
“Put me in that situation where you ask me a private question like that in front of a bunch of people and put the pressure on me.”
“Sorry, it just kind of came out. I didn’t exactly plan it.”
“You didn’t plan it? It just came out?”
“Yeah it just came out…sorry.”
“So…did you even mean it?”
“Yes, I meant it. I love you Candi, and I want to be with you forever.”
I shake my head as I continue to walk off.
Chase yells my name, “Candi! Come on! Where are you going?”
I turn around, “What is going one here? One day you’re my neighbor across the hall who I’m screwing for fun, and the next day you’re proposing to me during the Zombie Apocalypse?”
He stands there and nods, “Yeah, I guess that’s what’s going on. But, I thought that we’ve bonded, and our relationship has grown, I thought that we were a couple now.”
“We are…I think…I’m so confused right now, Chase.”
I turn around and keep walking as Chase continues following me, “Candi! Please stop!”
I turn around and look at him as he approaches me and stops right in front of me. I look at him with a smile as he looks at me with a confused, worried look on his face. I take a step closer towards him. I place my hands on his cheeks as I gaze into his eyes, “Chase, you’re right. You are absolutely right. We have bonded over the last few days and I’ve enjoyed every moment with you. I have had more fun over the last few days than I’ve had my entire life. I have grown closer to you, closer than I’ve been with anybody else in my entire life. And yes, I have considered us a couple. And to tell you the truth…I think that I
am falling in love…”
Out of nowhere we hear a vehicle driving up on us. We both look in the direction from where the vehicle is coming from. Just then, a black hummer stops right next to us as two guys jump out of it. Both of them are holding rifles as they walk up to us. One of them starts patting Chase down as the other one pats me down. We look at them stunned. Chase looks at them with anger, “Hey, what are you guys doing?”
“Shut up!” One of them yells at him. Then they look at me and smile, as they turn towards Chase, “We just want the girl.”
Chase lunges towards them as one of them puts his hand over my mouth and begins to drag me into the hummer, kicking and trying to scream, as the other one hits Chase over the head with his rifle and knocks him to the ground. Then the guy gets back into the hummer as we drive away.
