What to Read After FSOG: The Gemstone Collection (WTRAFSOG Book 3) Page 151

by Lauren Hawkeye

One second, Alexia was staring at the spot where Karl had been only moments earlier, the next, a yelp of surprise fell from her lips when she found herself trapped against the solid surface of the door, her cheek pressed to the cool wood. Her mind did its best to comprehend how she came to be there. Her gaze moved from the strong fingers flattened against the door next to her head, up the line of sinewy muscle of her captor’s forearm. With her heart slamming against her chest, she almost screamed until he spoke.

“Your heart rate is accelerated. Please take a breath?”

“Miles! Move away from me.” Her command went unheeded. Instead, he huddled closer. His solid form against her back left her feeling vulnerable, even as a different sensation skittered over her skin. Confusion reigned. Miles shouldn’t be able to disobey a direct order. She most certainly shouldn’t be aroused by him.

  “Step back,” she repeated.

He didn’t move. Warm lips touched her ear. “You have no need of him.” She turned her face away. Resting her forehead against the hard surface, she squeezed her eyes shut. A possessive arm encircled her waist, drawing Alexia against the curve of his embrace. Her traitorous body fired to life. Wet heat caused her panties to cling to her skin. “Your body requires release.”

  “No,” she lied. “I’m—”

His hand slid past the waistband of her shorts, going straight for the wet folds calling his name, cutting off any protest. “I did not ask.” His voice hardened in a way she’d never heard him use before. “I will be the one who brings you relief.” He punctuated his promise by spreading her pussy lips, exposing the sensitized nub hidden there, circling it with the tip of his finger. Biting her lip, Alexia did her best to swallow the moan rising in her throat. He rendered her efforts useless by dipping one of his fingers inside her channel. She tightened her muscles around it, attempting to keep him there. It had been so long since anyone had touched her this way. She ached for it. Signaling her surrender, Alexia tilted her chin back, resting her head against his shoulder. As soon as she melted into his embrace, Miles took control. Her feet left the floor as if she weighed no more than a flea.

  “I will replace these.”

Before Alexia had time to puzzle over his statement, her clothes fell away in shreds, ripped from her body. Before now, she’d never truly witnessed his strength firsthand. Instead of the fear she imagined she should feel over his dominance, she was that much more turned on by it. Spinning, he crowded her against the couch. Urging her hands toward the armrest, Miles kissed her between the shoulder blades. Every ounce of good sense she possessed flew out the window. She’d long passed the moment where she could stop. The pulse pounding in her ears drowned out all sound until he slid down his zipper. That, she heard. It was almost enough to yank her out of her haze. She’d never considered if he was anatomically correct.

As the tip of his cock slipped inside her channel an inch, there wasn’t a need to question it. When he pushed inside another inch—stretching her wide—nothing mattered any longer. The sensation made her want to scream her frustration. Now that it was too late to back down, she wanted it all, and she craved it rough. Pushing backwards with her hips, she impaled herself on his shaft. He didn’t attempt to stop her. Once he seemed to understand she wouldn’t break, he set a pounding pace that caused the air to leave her lungs on a sigh with each slap of skin against skin.

He was hitting everything internally at the perfect angle. It still wasn’t enough. Gripping her hips between his hands, Miles hauled her backwards, burying himself to the hilt. Pressing his chest to her back, he took her earlobe between his teeth, swiping it with his tongue. He spoke against her ear.

  “Tease your clit.”

With his order hanging in the air, she did as he bade. She pinched the tiny bud between her thumb and forefinger, rubbing, tantalizing. Intentionally, she drew out the pleasure. Masturbation had become the key to her survival since Miles’ arrival. She’d perfected the creation of the most powerful release. She toyed with her button until she began to think she would jump out of her skin before switching pace. Between circling her clit with increasing speed and Miles’ cock slipping in and out of her, Alexia was quickly approaching orgasm. The moment the first tremor began, Miles’ thumb pushed past the tight ring of muscles surrounding her asshole, sending her careening over the edge. Her body shook from the power of it as Miles continued to piston inside her. A hoarse growl left his lips. He went still against her, holding her tightly to his chest.

She wasn’t surprised to learn that Miles could experience sexual release. In fact, there wasn’t anything about him that shocked her anymore. After a moment of cradling her against his body, he swept her from her feet. He carried her as he would a child while she stared at his hardened expression. Once inside the bedroom, he finally met her gaze as he settled her on the edge of the bed. His golden eyes glowed with their usual unnatural light. He was unreadable. She hated it.

“Don’t regret me quite yet,” he ordered as he pushed his open jeans the rest of the way down his hips and tugged his shirt over his head. Alexia got her first real glimpse at a completely nude Miles. It was a stunning sight. It was also intense. He’d been built as a weapon, but damn, he was delicious. She licked her lips, drawing his focus to her mouth.

“I’m not done with you,” he admitted. A smart-ass comment rose in her throat. It died as he fell to his knees between hers. Spreading her legs wide, he face-planted between them, going down on her like a man possessed. Her swollen and over-sensitized pussy convulsed beneath his ministrations. Her girlie bits were happier than she could ever remember them being. Even as ecstasy rolled through her veins, a surge of extreme despondency crowded her brain. She could easily become addicted to this man who wasn’t real. A crack formed in her heart at the thought. There was every possibility this encounter had doomed her to being alone for the rest of her life.

Even as Alexia’s channel pulsed around his tongue, her frontal cortex fired to life. Her serotonin levels dropped to almost dangerously low levels, signaling a wave of intense sadness. His human side fought against the computer components wired throughout his brain. Each side chose a different theory for her reaction. The unemotional statistics concluded she hadn’t reached maximum satisfaction. The man inside him knew better. Her reaction had nothing to do with logic. She believed she’d been serviced as if it was part of his job. He knew this without being told because he knew Alexia. While the rest of the world rushed to give over their lives to technology, Alexia had chosen to live alone. Human interaction was important to her. She didn’t know he was real…with a few enhancements. Unfortunately, he couldn’t tell her. Instead, he chose to do his best to soothe her.

Kissing his way up her body, he sucked her bottom lip between his teeth when he reached her mouth. “Don’t think,” he ordered as he covered her body with his. He needed to keep her distracted until she was too tired to focus. The physical pain of holding back his release was sheer hell. He’d been so close to orgasm in the living room, a groan had escaped him before he’d been able to bite it down. Programming to experience physical pleasure was easy to explain. Ejaculation was not. Concentrating on the flavor of her tongue, he fought his body for control. He could do this for Alexia. He made love to her until she was exhausted. The moment her brain waves indicated she’d entered a deep sleep, he slipped from the bed. It took less than a minute of fisting his cock to explode. Miles bit his lip to keep from crying out as the jet of semen shot from the tip of his dick into a towel. One of these days, he would get to do this with Alexia. It was one vow he intended to keep. This assignment was taking too long. Desperate times called for desperate measures. He’d have to force things along if he hoped to hang onto his sanity.

  Chapter Two

Leaning against the wall and staring out the window, Miles was in full military mode. Desert-tan camos rode low on his hips while a brown t-shirt strained against the muscles in his arms and chest. He was even wearing his combat boots. Alexia wanted
to work up an ounce of distress since Miles rarely dressed to match his duties. Her body refused to obey. Her sore and overused muscles barely allowed her to roll to her side so she could stare at him, but she was highly motivated by his sexiness. Pillowing her head with her hands, she watched as the morning light hugged his every line. Maybe one of these days, she’d paint for the pure pleasure of it. When that day came, he’d be the first image she’d recreate.

“I scare you.” He didn’t look at her as he made the observation. It made it easier to lie.

  “No.”

He turned in her direction. Her breath caught in her throat. Sex with him had been a mistake. He was twice as much of everything than he was the day before and he’d already been too much. “We will see Dr. Khan today.”

That distracted her. With a loud groan, Alexia pulled the comforter over her head. She hated Lucas Khan. He spit when he talked and she always caught him staring at her ass. Something about him gave her the creeps. Unfortunately, he was also the only robotics specialist in town. It wasn’t a huge inconvenience to stop by his office since they worked in the same building. She did need to drop off a few finished pieces and pick up a new batch of orders, but she really didn’t want to go.

Miles pulled the cover away from her face. Sitting on the edge of the bed, he leaned over her, forcing her to face him. “You were frightened of me last night. In light of your reaction, I must insist you check with Dr. Khan to ease your mind.”

“I wasn’t scared of you.” Alexia knew she sounded the same as a petulant child. She didn’t care. He traced her bottom lip with his thumb. His lids lowered as his gaze followed the motion.

“He will reassure you I am not malfunctioning. You will feel better.”

Naturally, she gave in. It wasn’t as if she could stand against such manipulation. “Fine. Damn it,” Alexia cursed, kicking free of the bed linens. “We’ll go see the freaking pervy doctor.” If she seemed unhappy about it, then he’d just have to deal with it.

An hour later, as she flushed red, stammering, and attempting to explain the problem, Miles dealing with her unhappiness did not seem anywhere near a big enough punishment. “He’s disregarding my orders.”

Dr. Lucas Khan pushed his glasses up his nose, eyeing them both with open curiosity. His bright-red hair stood on end today. Dark freckles stood out in stark comparison to his pale skin. Alexia was sure he never left the building. He definitely hadn’t seen a hint of sunlight in years. She spent a moment imagining him bursting into flames—the way a vampire would—the first moment he stepped outside during the day. After a few minutes of assessing them, Lucas leaned back in his seat.

“Miles, go sit down.” At the doctor’s command, Miles sat in the chair closest to Alexia’s elbow. “He seems fine to me.”

The fire racing through her face hitched up notch. She would never forgive Miles for putting her through this. Of all the people in the world to have to explain this shit to. “Um. It’s not all orders, only certain things…”

Lucas didn’t appear fazed by her embarrassment. “My guess is you’ve been giving him conflicting orders, confusing his system.” Miles hadn’t seemed confused in the least to Alexia, but Lucas’ explanation did sound plausible. Her relief lasted as long as the doctor’s pause. “I’ll need a complete list of the commands you’re having trouble with before I can offer a competent diagnosis. Hopefully, I can fix whatever is wrong with him.”

To Alexia’s mind, there wasn’t anything wrong with Miles, per se. It wasn’t as if he was broken. Now that she was there, she really wished she hadn’t given in to Miles quite so easily. She wasn’t unhappy with Miles and she honestly did not fear him. It was more she was concerned she’d wake up one day to find he’d disobeyed something more important.

“Er,” she began uncomfortably. “He doesn’t take no for an answer. I’ve told him to shut down or back away and he was able to disobey my direct command.” A closed expression fell over Lucas’ face. She pressed on. “Also, even though I can’t prove it, I think he threatened someone from the office who stopped by yesterday, forcing them to leave.”

“Was this visitor male or female?”

  “Male.”

At her answer, Lucas rocked back in his chair, causing it to squeak. He appeared every bit as uncomfortable with the topic as Alexia. “Um.” He rubbed the back of his neck. “Are these instances of disobedience sexual in nature?” Before she could answer, he added, “I wouldn’t ask if it wasn’t necessary.” She wasn’t sure how much truth was in his statement. However, she did know she’d rather be having a pelvic exam than this conversation.

  “You are embarrassing Alexia.”

Even though Miles didn’t threaten Lucas, his dark tone left no doubt in Alexia’s mind. His statement had been a warning.

Lucas’ spine stiffened. “I’m a professional. It’s not my intent to humiliate anyone.”

“Your objectives are inconsequential. Her body readings suggest this meeting is physically painful.”

Reaching over, Alexia set her hand on his arm. “It’s okay, Miles. It’s his job to ask.” The moment the words left her lips, she sort of wanted to smack herself. He’d convinced her to do this and now she was defending it. Sheesh. She was losing her mind.

Miles turned his head at her touch, lowering his voice. “With your permission, I will answer his questions. I do not care for how he is making you feel.”

“Fascinating,” Lucas said, leaning closer to Miles. “You’ve taken on a humanlike quality I’ve never seen before in a droid.”

Miles didn’t look away from her as he responded to Lucas’ remark. “Alexia would be unhappy living with a robot. She is in need of a man.”

An inner groan echoed off the walls of her mind. This was getting worse by the minute. He covered her hand with his. “See. You are distressed.”

She shook her head. “I’m not,” she lied blatantly.

He leaned in, touching his lips to her ear. “When we are away from this place, I will do a great many things to your luscious body. You will not be ashamed. I won’t allow it.”

Tilting her chin, she brought Miles’ face into her line of sight. “I’m not ashamed of you.” A wicked smile twisted his lips. She shouldn’t have come here. There was nothing wrong with him.

“Fascinating,” Lucas repeated. “Is this something he does only with you or does he feel the need to sexually satisfy others as well?”

A burst of jealousy exploded in Alexia’s chest. Miles saved her from responding. “It is only Alexia. I serve her and her alone. She belongs to me. Her pleasure is my responsibility.”

“She belongs to you,” Lucas repeated. “You are a machine. Government property, I might add. Things do not own people. People own things.”

Anger crawled up Alexia’s back. The man’s nerve knew no bounds. If they got out of here with Miles’ circuitry intact, she was going to kick his ass for making her do this.

Alexia’s blood pressure soared and her heart rate increased. She opened her mouth, as if prepared to blast the doctor. Miles squeezed her hand lightly, stopping her.

“He is concerned for your safety. You should invite him over for dinner.”

She didn’t want to. He could feel the wariness and anger rolling off her skin.

“It would ease my mind if I could see your droid in action.” Lucas paused as if searching for a reason it would make a difference in his opinion. His eyes lit and Miles knew he’d formulated a plan. “If I do an in-home visit, then I won’t be forced to recall him to ensure your safety.”

She was a step beyond pissed. Alexia’s body was producing adrenaline at an alarming rate. Miles began calculating the odds of her physically harming the doctor against his need for the man to adhere to his plans. The numbers did not favor the doctor. He intervened. Keeping his movements timed to a crawl, Miles turned his gaze to her. “Does he mean to destroy me if we do not comply?”

Her blood pressure soared a few notches higher. Several flashes of
neon data blazed across his retinas as he monitored her vital signs. He would not allow this meeting to endanger her health.

“You are upset. Please take a breath?”

Upon his instruction, her chest heaved as she swallowed a lungful of air. “Release it,” he ordered, mimicking a normal breathing pattern until Alexia followed his example. Her heart rate slowed, pressure dropping.

A grateful smile touched her lips. His focus locked upon it. They would not destroy him. It was not an alternative he would allow. He wished to stay…with her. Lucas, obviously seeing his chance, jumped in. “You see, in only a few minutes your droid has placed your needs above the situation. I’m confident if I’m allowed a few hours in your home, observing your normal routine, I’ll be able to sign this incident off as a fluke in his wiring. One that has no impact on public safety.”

Without looking away from Miles, she nodded. “Okay. When would you like to do this?”

Although Miles knew she was asking the doctor, he spoke in Lucas’ stead. “I’m sure he has appointments during the daytime hours. Perhaps the doctor would be better served by an evening appointment. Tomorrow night at seven would give me time to arrange a meal for two.” Not to mention, it would give Miles time to prepare a few more things as well.

Having gotten his way, Lucas was quick to agree. “Tomorrow night at seven would work perfectly with my hectic schedule.”

Blocking out the man’s vitals, which bespoke of triumph and some other things he did not want to think about, Miles held Alexia’s stare, silently willing her to agree. She dipped her chin as if reading his unspoken message. Turning away, she pasted on the same fake grin she gave everyone except him. “We’ll see you tomorrow at seven.” She wasted no time heading for the exit the moment the issue was settled. As soon as they were out of earshot, she growled through clenched teeth, “There’s no way in hell he’s taking you away.” Miles bit back a smile. She was extraordinary.
