She didn’t feel like waiting for him to get her door for her, so she opened it and quickly closed it behind her. Axel got in the front seat and started the car.

“Axel,” she said and lifted her eyes to the rearview mirror. His stormy aquamarine eyes met hers briefly and heat instantly flooded through her body. “I’m going to try to make things work with Angelo and I. Will you please try to be nice to him because I don’t want to lose the only friend I have.” Even with the undeniable attraction to him, she needed him to be what he had been for all of this time. A friend.

“Friend?” he asked as he stopped at a stop light. He turned his head to the side to look at her. “That kiss we shared wasn’t a friendly kiss, Evangeline. There was raw passion behind it and you can’t tell me you didn’t feel it.” She had, but Angelo was the one she wanted.

The light turned green and he turned back around but she knew that they weren’t done talking. “I have never lied to you and I’m not going to start now. Yes, I felt something when we kissed but this isn’t the right time for us. We had five years to act on these lustful feelings and we didn’t for a reason. I know you think he is my stalker but I know him and he isn’t.”

“How can you be so sure? You barely know him.”

She glanced out of the window because she was trusting Angelo with everything. “I just know he isn’t, I feel it in my heart.” She never thought she would trust her heart again but he has shown her that it was possible.

“Sometimes your heart doesn’t know shit. You have to listen to your head because it’s normally right and it’s bigger.” He pulled in front of her tower but neither of them moved to get out. She didn’t know why this was hard on her, she just stared out the window. She felt his eyes on her.

She watched at him in the rearview mirror and smiled sadly at him because she knew she was going to hurt him. “When you follow your heart, you’re not supposed to do things because of what you think people will say. You do it for the total opposite reason.” She reached her hand out to touch his shoulder and he turned his head to the side to look at her. “This isn’t our time and you never know maybe we will get that time in the future. But not now.”

Undoing her seatbelt she leaned forward and kissed his. When she pulled away from him she got out of the car by herself and walked into Skyler Tower.

She wondered if her life would be this complicated or would things settle down when her stalker was found. She nodded to her new security team and made her way towards the elevator.

When she started Sky Tech, she never imagine it would be as big as it was now. She started it out of her parent’s basement with her used laptop eight years ago. She had always been really good with computers and when she told her parents that she didn’t want to be a doctor but a computer programmer they thought she lost her mind. When she was at a coffee shop a man approached her, he told her that he wanted to help her build a company.

Of course she didn’t believe him not at first. He sat down and told her that he wanted to start a company that would rival the big names. His name was Hayden Miller and he had become her business partner. He spent most of his time at their other office in England, and he was coming back today.

Unlike her, he was the one that believed that love and business could be together. He had married his high school sweetheart and their first secretary Lisa. Hayden was now a friend she saw once or twice a year and talked to all the time on the phone and emails. Sky Tech was her baby and he was the money that helped start it; she had since paid him back in full plus interest. The elevator beeped as the doors opened and Heather was waiting for her with a coffee.

“Good morning, Ms. Skyler.” Heather smiled as she handed her the coffee. “And Mr. Miller is waiting for you in your office. I told him you would be here any minute.” Evangeline laughed because Hayden acted like a hard ass but really he was a sweetheart. Her personal assistant looked a little shaken up.

“Good morning Heather, and thank you for the coffee. Could you get Hayden one for me?” Heather nodded and walked back to her desk which was in front of her office.

“Of course ma’am.” She said as she grabbed her purse and placed the strap around her shoulder.

“Heather, thank you for all you do for me. I know I am not the easiest woman to work for. And now that I have another stalker we will be locked up tight here.”

Heather placed her hand over her heart and grinned. “I love working for you and the new security men are really nice to look at. I will be right back with Mr. Miller’s coffee.”

Evangeline strolled into her office. She found Hayden behind her desk with his feet on her wooden desk with a red folder in his hands. Her heart plummeted to her feet because he was reading personal things about Angelo. She closed the door and he looked up at her with judgment in his gray eyes.

“Who in the hell is Angelo Giovanni?” he waved the folder and arched his black eyebrows.

Standing a little taller she walked towards him and took the red folder out of his hands and shoved it into her purse.

“He is someone I am seeing and it’s none of your business. Why were you reading this anyways?”

He stood up and he towered over her being six and a half feet tall; she was only five-three. “It was on your desk and I thought it was something to do with Sky Tech, you know our little computer company? Have you read what’s in there? It’s some crazy stuff and I am guessing Axel got it for you because it’s really detailed.” She narrowed her eyes and placed her hands on her hips.

“I decided not to look at it. I want to get to know him the normal way.”

“You think that is wise?” he asked and she laughed.

“Did you do the full background check on Lisa when you met her?” he smiled as he shook his head. “I didn’t think so, I want to try to be normal.”

He walked to her and placed his hand on her shoulder. “Eva, you will never be normal because you are one of the wealthiest woman in America.”

She smiled sadly at him knowing he was right. “I can try.”

  Chapter Thirteen

After she and Hayden talked about the company she was left alone in her office. She would have to travel to England to handle things if Hayden couldn’t, but right now she needed to figure out what to do about a certain dark knight in her life. Hayden had told her to look at what Axel had discovered about the man she was seeing because people would try to use her. But she didn’t think that was what Angelo was doing, she had been used by some of her lovers and Axel had taken care of them.

Her eyes drifted to the red folder and she wondered if Axel found out about Angelo’s family. She grabbed the folder and wanted to yell at herself because she had told Angelo that she would try to make them work. She was pretty sure learning about his past through a folder didn’t count towards the relationship. She put the folder in her purse as she sat down behind her desk.

The desk phone beeped, and she pressed the button to accept the call from Heather. “Hello Heather,” she said and glanced at the time.

“Ms. Skyler, Angelo is here with food.” Just the mention of his name had her grinning like a fool. Most days she really didn’t have time to eat and it never bothered her.

“Thank you Heather send him in.” she stood up to meet her dark knight in shiny black armor. She never saw herself as the one that needed to be saved; she was fine living without love…until Angelo came into her life. He made her feel things that she had buried long ago.

Angelo walked into her office wearing a dark black suit with a royal purple button up shirt under the jacket and a black tie with a purple design. He had his hair slicked back away from his devilishly handsome face and his chocolate eyes were on her. He stole her breath from her as he sauntered towards her and a sexy playful smile played at the corner of his lips.

“I like the way you look at me, Angel.” He said and stopped about a foot in front of her.

“I like the way you look, that suit looks like it was made for you.” She was gues
sing it was made for him because it fit him like a glove. He laughed and brushed his knuckles down her cheek.

“Are you hungry? Because I brought enough food to feed you for a week. I also gave some to Heather and I brought some for Axel thinking he would be glued to your side.” she saw envious in his eyes when he said Axel’s name.

“You know if you want to be with me you will have to deal with whatever is going on between you and him. I like you…I really like you.” He smiled and sat the food on the floor before he pulled her against him.

“You really like me?” his voice was thicker with accent. His passionate lips kissed each of her cheeks and brushed alongside hers causing her eyes to flutter closed. She opened her eyes when he didn’t deepen his kiss, and found him staring at her. “I know we haven’t know one another that long but I am falling for you. You are taking my sorrow away and turning it into something more.” Her heart raced with the thought of him falling for her.

She framed his face with her small hands. “The heart doesn’t need time to realize what it wants.” He wasn’t the only one falling, she just hoped he would be the one to catch her when she fell.

“What do you want Evangeline Skyler?” he asked and slowly lowered his mouth to hers.

“You…only you Angelo.” She whispered right before his lips took hers. Their molten-hot kiss tore through her because she comprehended that he was more to her. She wrapped her arms around his neck and tangled her fingers on the ends of his hair. He sucked her bottom lip into his smoldering mouth and his tongue thrust into her mouth tangling with hers.

He was the one to pull away. “We should eat before it gets cold.” He kissed the tip of her nose and she groaned because she wanted him naked in her office.

She grinned as she pulled him towards her with his silky tie. “Or we could feed another hunger.” He smirked down at her but shook his head.

“Angel, we have plenty of time to feed that hunger later.” He winked at her and moved away from her to pick up the food. She watched him walk away from her and towards her little coffee table. He started to set out the little white Chinese take-out boxes, and she smiled.

“You know Chinese food is my greatest weakness.” She said as she sauntered towards the man that drove her downright crazy. He glanced up at her and grinned; he placed two paper plates out and she sat down next to him.

He rested his large hand on her leg and instant heat spread through her body. “I aim to please, Ms. Skyler.” She really couldn’t get tired of his deep accented voice, but she was wrong he was her greatest weakness.

She didn’t say anything as they ate because she was terrified that she was feeling things for Angelo when she barely knew him. She knew that there were things that he hadn’t told her and she was fine with it for now. The red folder seemed to be calling to her but she didn’t want to break his trust and read it.

Once in a while she would glance at him when he wasn’t looking at her and she wondered what his family looked like. He was so kind to her and so tender in the bedroom. Never had she had a lover that worried about her when he was trying to please her. Most would shove themselves inside her and fuck her like she wanted. But from the moment she met Angelo Giovanni she felt…more with him.

Even when she was with Brad she never saw forever with him. She wanted it to be because he was all she ever known but honestly she never saw her future with him. She knew he didn’t want to have a family and she did. Now she wondered if Angelo would ever want to have a family after what he went through. Mentally she shook herself because it was too soon to be thinking about that, but that was what he did to her. He had her thinking about forever, not just sex.

“What are you thinking about?” his voice pulled her out of her thoughts and she smiled at him.

“That for once in a long time I am truly happy. Even with a new stalker I can still smile and that is all because of you.” He gave her his full smile that showcased his dimples.

“I like that I am the one that is making you happy because you deserve to be happy.” He took her hand in his and gently kissed her knuckles. “You are an incredible woman that is worth fighting for. Whoever is lucky enough to have you in their life is blessed. I know I am.”

At this point of time she didn’t care that she didn’t know everything about him because what she knew was plenty. She would throw away the red folder she had whenever she got the chance.

“You are a sweet talker and I love it.” she leaned in and brushed her lips against his. “Now if you don’t want to feed another hunger of mine, you should leave. I do have work I need to get done.” His eyes appraised her with a wicked grin on his handsome face.

“Angel,” he groaned as her fingertips skated across the aching bulge in his dark pants. She loved knowing she affected him in this way. She was used to men reacting to her but Angelo was different. He didn’t treat her as if she as the latest conquest. “You deserve better than a quick fuck in your office.”

She grinned because she liked when he swore. “Who said anything about fucking? I want to suck on your cock.” He moaned and closed his eyes when she rubbed a little firmer. “Angelo, I want to look at my couch and think of me on my knees with your cock in my mouth.”

He opened his chocolate eyes and stared at her. “Ahh…you…make it impossible to say no to.” She laughed because she normally got what she wanted but with him she was always unsure.

“Then don’t,” she unzipped his pants and lowered herself to the floor. Unhurriedly she reached inside his pants and pulled out his thick large erection. She massaged the hot, smooth flesh in her hand and then she leaned down and began licking the swollen head.

He groaned as soon as her tongue touched him.

“Angel, you’re killing me.” She giggled and sucked the head of his cock into her mouth. With rapid circular motions, she discovered the entire length of his shaft with her tongue. Normally she didn’t like to do this for a man, she would want just sex and that was it.

But with Angelo everything was different, he made her want to do things she wouldn’t normally do. Like pleasing him over her own needs. Her lips encircled his throbbing manhood and his fingers tangled in her hair. She took as much of him as she could before she closed her mouth around him and sucked.

She glanced up at him and he had his eyes closed and his fingers stiffened in her hair. “Angel,” his voice broke and he leisurely opened his eyes. “I’m going to come if you keep doing that.”

She winked as she tightened her hand around his shaft and she lightly ran her teeth up and down his cock. Her other hand cupped his balls and lightly massaged. She felt his balls grow tighter before she felt his come hit the back of her throat. She licked the tip of his cock and he moaned and loosen his hold on her hair.

He seized her face with his hands and dropped his head so he could kiss her. Most men wouldn’t kiss her after they came in her mouth. But his tongue thrust in her mouth and she held him tightly to her. When he pulled away from her he grinned.

“You completely surprise me all the time.” She knew he had read things about her that made her look like an ice queen. But she was the one that was surprise that this man in front of her wanted her even knowing that she was weird about the whole relationship thing. He knew about her past lovers and how she only wanted sex and he was still here smiling at her.

He was the one taking her by surprise because he desired her for her and not for her money. She stood up and sat on his lap, he wrapped his arms around her and she laid her head on his shoulder. “Angelo you are the one that keeps surprising me. I am so happy that you showed up here to interview me and didn’t give up. You are taking all the shattered pieces of my heart and slowly putting it back together again.”

His lips rested on the top of her head. “Angel, you didn’t need me to mend you together, you needed someone to show you what love could be. I know it’s too soon for love but I want to be the one you say that to next.” Her heart and mind raced because he was right it was to
o soon for that. Yes, she was opening up more to him than any other, but love is a really powerful word.

Lifting her head she started into his warm chocolate eyes and saw tenderness. “All I know is I want you in my life right now. I don’t want to think about what will happen because you can never guarantee anything. I want us to live in the moment, and take what we get.”

His handsome smile fell a little but he recovered quickly. “You are right, we can’t guarantee tomorrow.” She knew he was thinking about the family he had lost, and it broke her heart. She couldn’t imagine what he was feeling.

She brushed her lips against his. “If you ever want to talk about them you can.”

He kissed her forehead. “I can’t…not yet. But thank you,” he glanced down at his wrist and frowned. “Angel, I need to go I have a meeting I need to get to.”

Sighing she forced herself to stand up, and she peeked at his unzipped pants and smirked. “You can bring me lunch any day.” She winked at him and he laughed.

“It doesn’t seem fair that I was pleasured and you weren’t.” he snaked an arm around her waist and pulled her to him. He lowered his lips to her ear causing her to shudder. “I guess I will have some making up to do tonight.” He sucked her earlobe into his scorching mouth.

“Ahh…” was all she could manage. When he moved away from her he was smiling.

“I will see you later, Angel.” He winked and turned around to walk to the door. She was never a girl that thought an accent was attractive until she heard Angelo Giovanni say her name and then she was addicted. She walked back to her desk and smiled as she got back to work.

Angelo closed the door to Evangeline’s office and grinned. She was an amazing woman that was all his. After he lost his wife he never imagine that he would have these feelings again but she had opened him up. She wasn’t the only one that was broken and being put back together again.
