Sudden Attraction Page 8

“Do you know how good your hands felt on me earlier?” she asked softly, and let her own hand stroke over her breast and down her stomach as if remembering.

He didn’t say anything, but his rapidly hardening erection told her he was enjoying the view. She got up and walked over to him.

“Do you know how good you felt inside me?” she asked just as softly, and ran her hands slowly up his chest and around his neck to pull him down for a slow, deep kiss.

His arms came around her tightly as he kissed her back.

“What about the shower?” she asked faintly when they came up for air.

He grinned. “Well, that’s the nice thing about showers,” he said teasingly. “You can actually do this in there.”

She pinched him on his shoulder blade in response, and he winked at her as he pulled her into the tub with him, positioning them both under the hot water.

“Maybe I need to make it clear that I’m not into the S&M stuff,” he said gravely.

She laughed. “How about the ‘I’ll soap your back if you soap mine’ stuff?” she asked cheekily.

“That I can do,” he assured her and picked up the soap.

He gave it to her after he had worked up a lather and set to work running his hands over her torso as she rubbed the soap between her own hands. Callie felt her heart rate kick up another notch at the slippery glide of his hands on her body, especially since they returned to her breasts with a high rate of frequency. She put her own suds to good use on him. Enjoyed running her hands over the flex and shift of his hard muscles as he continued his efforts on her.

When she couldn’t resist anymore, she reached down and found him with her hands. He groaned, his hands dropping to his sides as she explored his hard length. He was pulsing with need and she turned to sit on the side of the tub so she could take him in her mouth. Her hand stroked his shaft as her mouth enclosed the head of his penis. As she took him deeper, his hand buried in her hair, silently encouraging her without putting pressure on her. After just a minute or two though, he pulled her up.

“I can’t wait,” he said on a gasp and wrapped his arms around her to lift her up to his waist.

She instinctively put her legs around him, and he lowered her onto himself. At the feel of him sliding inside her, Callie moaned and arched her pelvis against his, pushing down on him. They both groaned. He lifted her and let her slide down again.

Callie began meeting his thrusts with her own internal, rhythmic contractions, and he picked up the pace.

“God,” he said through clenched teeth. “How many kegels a day do you do?”

“Naturally gifted,” she replied breathlessly, focusing on what they were doing.

She used her grip with her arms and legs to change the angle slightly so that her clit got more contact when she slid down on him. Suddenly, the sensations of his wet skin against hers, his hands holding her and his hard length moving within her coalesced into a quick, hard orgasm that left her gasping for air.

“Did you just come?” he asked, his voice strained as he kept up his rhythm.

“Yeah,” she said on a gasp.

He turned and pinned her to the wall, thrust two more times then came, slumping against her and letting his weight keep them against the wall.

“It does work better when the guy can hold you up,” Callie said on a satisfied sigh.

He gave a short laugh and straightened back up with her before setting her down, pausing to give her a swift but thorough kiss.

“Now if there was only some way to be magically dried off and back into bed,” he said. “I’m beat.”

Callie turned off the water and pulled back the shower curtain. “Well there’s no magic to it, but getting toweled off can be arranged.”

She reached for the towel on the bar and gave him a brisk going over and then did herself.

“Efficient,” he teased, and she poked him in the side.

“You’re beat, I’m not far from that myself. You can get the harem woman night spa treatment some other time.”

“Now you’re talking,” he said approvingly. “I’m going to hold you to that.”

She smiled as he put an arm around her and steered her into the bedroom. He pulled back the covers and they both climbed in, and he tucked her back into the curve of his arm.

“Did you notice that the shower was clean?” he asked lazily.

“No, I had other things on my mind,” she said with a grin. “Was it clean?” she asked with interest.

“Yeah, I cleaned it on your recommendation, and you didn’t even notice.”

She smiled at his faintly indignant tone. “But I might have noticed if it was still yucky and awful and that would have been an unwanted distraction. I noticed you got a throw for the sofa too.”

“Mmmhmm, and that’s not all,” he said expectantly.

She thought back on their conversation and suddenly realized what else he had gotten.

“These are new sheets,” she said with an enthusiasm that made him laugh sleepily.

“Yeah, I got the damn expensive sheets, too.”

“Well, they feel heavenly,” she said sliding her legs around to test their softness.

“Stop that,” he grumbled. “I’m trying to go to sleep.”

“Okay, but I feel it’s only fair to tell you that you were right, you could put raw wool blankets on here and still wouldn’t have trouble finding women to join you in them.”

He looked pleased and gave her a squeeze. She lay there for a minute thinking about the clean bathroom and the new sheets while a thought formed in her mind.

“Did you plan this whole thing?” she asked, surprised. He didn’t respond, and when she looked up, his eyes were closed and his breathing had evened out with sleep. She felt herself succumbing to sleep as well, and was nearly out when she could have sworn she heard him mutter “yeah” under his breath.

  Chapter Seven

Callie did not like jogging. She knew this, and yet she still periodically succumbed to the idiotic urge to go for a run. After her incredible night with Ryan she had awakened uncharacteristically early, brimming with energy, and had thought a run sounded like a good thing. After three miles, she was sweaty, winded and not quite sure why she had left the comforts of a warm bed and a hot man. At least the early morning was gorgeous, with a soft spring breeze, and the smell of summer just around the corner. And Ryan was waiting for her back at the house. That thought made her feel both giddy and guilty. Ryan had said his relationship with Misty was headed for the final break after their big fight on Sunday. But Misty had been over at the house on Sunday night, and Ryan had not mentioned what they had discussed. She hadn’t asked for clarification last night either she thought uneasily. Still, she didn’t think Ryan would cheat on a girlfriend. She had never known him to in all the years they had been friends. .

She dropped down to a walk as she approached the house, and stopped cold as she realized Misty’s car was in the driveway. Ryan and Misty were standing very close, right beside it. It hurt even more than she would have expected it to, and she had expected it to hurt a lot.

She watched as Misty leaned in to Ryan and kissed him briefly, then got into her car and backed out of the drive. That was it, Callie though with false bravado. She was getting an apartment today, would take the day off to do it, and would never even look at Ryan in a sexual light, much less touch him that way, again.

That bastard, she thought. She tried to work up a head of steam but instead just felt miserable and so hurt she was almost numb from it. Her eyes gleamed with tears just at the moment that Ryan looked over and saw her. He started toward her and she reacted instinctively, turning and heading in the opposite direction, picking up speed as she heard him yell something after her.

She ran for several blocks before stopping, feeling foolish because she would have to go back eventually of course. At least she could think for a few minutes about what she wanted to say. A car passed her and she looked up to see Ryan’s
Camry pull to the curb in front of her. Or maybe she wouldn’t have time to think she thought with resignation.

Ryan got out of the car looking cross as crabs, and Callie felt a welcome spurt of anger. How dare he look put out because he’d broken her heart.

“I tried to run after you for a minute but you run like a damn gazelle,” he said grouchily. “Plus, it was going to ruin my work shoes and possibly my feet. Next time I yell for you to stop, how ‘bout stopping?”

Callie’s spine stiffened. “Don’t take that tone with me,” she snapped. “I have every right to be upset watching you and Misty make out in the driveway after the night we had.”

She felt tears building behind her eyes and tried to will them back.

“What kind of man do you think I am, Callie? I broke it off with her for good Sunday evening, you gumby head,” he said as he closed the distance between them. “She is leaving on a buying trip this afternoon, and had left some folder she needed at the house so I said she could come by this morning to get it. She caught me off guard with the kiss, but it was just her idea of a final goodbye.”

She stood frozen, staring at him, and he pulled her to him for a soft kiss.

“Did you really think I could want anything to do with another woman after last night? After these last few days?”

Callie’s heart was pounding and she couldn’t answer for a second, just wound her arms around him and held him tightly.

When she could, she said, “I know it’s kind of fast, but I’m in love with you.” She looked up to meet his eyes and felt warm all over at the possessive heat she found there.

“It hasn’t been fast,” he disagreed. “It’s been twelve years and counting. And by the way, I love you, too.”

He kissed her then, and what started out sweetly affirming turned ravenous within seconds. He held her face in his hands as his tongue plunged into her mouth. Claiming her as his own and she matched him kiss for kiss. Ryan broke away first.

“We’ve got to get back to the house,” he said, sounding almost panicked. He pulled her around to the passenger side so fast she nearly tripped. He cursed under his breath, slowing slightly, before yanking open the car door and helping her inside. She watched with real amusement, feeling happiness bursting inside, as he rounding the front of the car at lighting speed and slammed into the seat.

“What’s the hurry?” she teased, reaching over to stroke his erection through his slacks and humming in approval as her hand cupped his hard length.

As she continued to explore him he groaned. “God!” And the car sped forward.

“It’s a good thing you ran out of steam as fast as you did or I don’t think I could make it to the house.”

“Hey,” she protested indignantly. “I had already run three miles.”

For punishment she unfastened his pants and reached in to free his cock. Feeling her own excitement peaking as she bent over to kiss the head, licking the sensitive underside delicately.

“I’ll wreck us,” he warned on a gasp.

“That would be a real shame,” she said unrepentantly, her hands busy.

As he missed the driveway with two wheels and bumped up over the curb into the yard, he hoped in some dim recess of his mind that the neighbors weren’t around. He got out of the car, lifting her with him over the center console. She let out a little shriek but didn’t protest further as he threw her over his shoulder and headed inside as fast as he could.

He slammed the door behind them and had her off his shoulder, her shorts off and her back to the floor in two seconds flat. As he sank inside her, he shuddered at the feel of her hot and welcoming heat. He drew back and thrust again as her arms and legs twined around him and she cried out sharply. He thrust hard two more time and she came, her internal muscles clenching around him rhythmically, pushing him over the edge with a muffled shout. They lay there breathing heavily and he used the last energy he had to shift some of his weight to his side so she wouldn’t be crushed under him.

“Call in sick today?” he asked.

“You betcha,” she said happily. They didn’t move for long seconds.

“Will we survive being in love?” he asked hazily.

She smiled, her arms tightening again on him. “I can’t guarantee it,” she said. “I’ll guess we’ll just have to find out.”
