After dinner they watched a little television before Sebastian finally talked himself to sleep. Clint carried him up and put him to bed before joining Nora in her small bedroom and even smaller bed.
“I missed you more than I can say. But let’s do the holidays somewhere sunny next year,” Clint said.
“I just wanted to feel connected to home one last time before I moved on and made a new one with you. I’ll come back here from time to time, but I realized that my home and my heart are wherever you and Sebastian are,” Nora said.
“I finally got you to admit you love me as much as I love you,” Clint said. He pulled her into his arms. He didn’t even complain when she tucked her ice cold feet between his thighs.
“Now I know you love me. Cold feet, no complaints,” Nora said.
They laughed before falling to sleep in the silence that comes with a deep snow.
