I could feel myself pushing into her, stretching her the deeper I got, and I had to resist the urge to slam into her until she was ready.

“You’re so big,” she sighed, as she lifted up and lowered back down, inching further onto me.

“You’re so tight,” I murmured back. “So fucking tight.”

Her arms wrapped around my neck as she leaned in and crushed her lips to mine. I pulled her against me so her firm breasts were squashed against my chest. My tongue explored her mouth, my hands tangled in her hair.

I couldn’t get enough, I couldn’t get close enough, or deep enough inside her.

Grabbing her ass, I pulled her forward, thrusting myself deeper.

“Oh God,” she murmured into my mouth. “Fuck me, Harley.”

Her hips started moving. Rocking back and forth on my aching cock, she lifted up off me, then slammed down.

Now it was my turn to gasp as the head of my cock hit her cervix. I was as deep as I could get, her muscles gripping around me.

“Fuck, you feel amazing,” I groaned into her neck.

I ran my hands up her sides to her breasts, then buried my face in them, kissing and sucking first one hard nipple, then the other.

My breathing was out of control. I wanted to come, God, I wanted to come as she rocked harder and faster on me. But at the same time I wanted it to last. My cock started twitching inside her.

“Argh, no!” I growled into her breasts. “Stop, just stop for a second,” I panted. “I don’t want to come yet, baby.” I nuzzled into her chest and wrapped my arms tight around her, holding her still. “You feel too good. Just give me a second.”

She stopped dead still except for her heaving chest as she tried to calm her own breathing. Her hands lifted my face to hers and she kissed me slowly, passionately, trying to slow everything down.

It was working. I reached my hand down and slid my fingers between us until I found her swollen clit, stroking it gently.

She sighed and closed her eyes, resting her forehead to mine. “That feels good,” she muttered. “Everything feels so good, Harley.”

One hand was back in her hair as I pulled her lips closer to mine, I found her tongue and leisurely flicked it with mine. When I was sure I’d settled down enough, I gently ran my hands back to her hips, and started rocking her slowly. Our bodies were pressed together as she tenderly moved her hips on me, moving me in and out with just the smallest of movements.

She tilted her head back and closed her eyes. “Ah, Harley,” she sighed.

I watched her face. She was so beautiful, her body was amazing, her pussy so tight and wet wrapped around me.

That’s when I decided I wanted her. Not just here in the hairdressing room, or while I was in hospital. But when I got out, when I was better, and we were free to be together.

I wanted to be with her.

My eyes travelled back up the length of her body to her face. She was watching me with that sexy-as-hell smile on her face.

“What are you thinking about?” she asked, kissing my cheek and working her lips back to my own.

“Just how unbelievably hot you are.”

She picked up the pace, thrusting harder and deeper again. “I wanna come, baby,” she cried.

That was my cue. Gripping her ass, I angled her body so I was as deep as I could go. She squeezed around me, moaning softly with every driving force. Her body was tensing; I could feel the muscles in every part of her tightening into a ball, getting ready to explode.

“Oh God, Harley.” Her hands fisted in my hair. “Oh …”

Her muscles squeezed tighter around me then started pulsing, her whole body moving in time with her orgasm. It was a beautiful thing to watch.

I’d held on as long as I needed to. With two more hard thrusts I felt the heat rise from my balls, through my cock, and then it was shooting over and over again, the hot cum into her.

My lips found her neck, tasting the salty sweat on her skin. I kissed her jaw, her cheek then finally her lips.

She rested her forehead to mine, a huge grin on her face. It was almost as big as the grin on my face.

“The things you have to do around here to get your hair washed,” I joked.

She burst out laughing. “Yep, that’s the payment.”

Toni climbed off, and cleaned herself up before getting dressed. I watched with a sinking feeling as she zipped her uniform back up, then fixed her hair. We would have to go back out in a minute and act like the most amazing sex I’d had in God knows how long hadn’t just happened.

Just for appearance’s sake, she quickly washed my hair. The whole time, my hand was wrapped around her thigh, stroking it lightly.

  Chapter 9

  Toni

CALL ME crazy, but I couldn’t wait to get back to work. I’d had the weekend back home to celebrate my dad’s fiftieth birthday and to catch up with friends, but even after only such a short time living in the city, I realised I could never permanently go back to the small country-town life I used to live.

I’d had a lot of time to think while I’d been away, and I had decided to take the plunge and tell Harley how I felt about him. Knowing it was a huge risk, I decided to tell him that I wanted to see him when he got out of hospital, to see if there really was something between us that was worth pursuing.

I had spent one night camped out under the stars, and been trail-bike riding and fishing, too. The whole time I was thinking about how much Harley would love it, and fantasising about taking him back home with me when he was better.

Practically skipping onto North Ward, I went straight into Harley’s room, then stopped. Where was he? The bed was made, and it was obvious that the room had been vacated. My heart started racing and panic gripped me.

  Where’s my Harley?

Taking a deep breath, I forced myself to casually walk back out to the nurse’s station, where Maggie was shuffling paperwork.

“Um, what happened to Harley in room ten?” I asked like I wasn’t having heart failure.

She grinned. “He’s finally gone. His parents came in, back from some overseas holiday, and took him with them. Apparently they have a bit of money, so the rest of his treatment will be all home help at their house.”

“Right,” I said, trying to gather my thoughts.

“So no more patient giving us a hard time.” She was smiling, as if it were the best news she’d ever heard. I, on the other hand, was trying to fight back a flood of tears that wanted to fall.

“Did he leave anything? You know, a card or a note?” Or a phone number.

Maggie reached into the top drawer and pulled out an envelope. “Oh, I nearly forgot. He left this for you.”

I snatched it out of her hand, then apologised, feeling like a total idiot for being so eager to read a note from a patient.

She stood and leaned over the counter wanting to read it over my shoulder, but I didn’t know what would be in it, so stuffed it in my pocket before casually saying I would read it later.

Racing into the bathroom, I locked myself in a stall and opened the note from Harley. Inside was a beautiful sketch of me, one that I didn’t know he had drawn, and a brief letter.

  Hi Baby,

So by now you know that I’ve been discharged. My parents turned up unexpectedly, having just returned from their holiday in Alaska, and decided to take me to their house and arrange private physiotherapy for me. I just wanted to thank you for everything you did for me.

Meeting you is what got me through the last month of my time in hospital. Your smile, like the one in this drawing, is something I will never forget. It lights up the room and warms my heart. I will be thinking of you and hope we can see each other again soon.

  Harley xxx

  So that was it.

No phone number. No let’s meet up for coffee, or I’ll call you next week.

  Nothing.

I made Mr Montgomery comfortable in room ten, checked the theatre schedule, and ch
anged the bed linen in room nine. Mr Montgomery was a man in his fifties who was a heavy smoker, and overweight. As a result, he had gangrene in his foot.

Mr Montgomery insisted I call him Jerry, but I didn’t want to. I was over getting too personal with patients. Not that I was going to get that personal with him, but the sting of Harley leaving and apparently cutting all ties was still hurting.

I had really thought the feelings I had for him were mutual, and that maybe, once he was out of hospital and no longer my patient, we would see each other without all the sneaking around.

At the end of my shift, Maggie asked what had been left for me in the envelope. I couldn’t show her the letter, so instead just pulled out the sketch.

“Hey, that’s awesome. You should pin it up on the board.”

I looked over at the corkboard on the wall that had thank-you cards, notes, and photos pinned to it. It was a testament of the great care the nurses took of the patients that passed through the ward, but it also highlighted just that. The patients were merely passing through, and we were just people who helped them for a little while, until they got back to their regular lives.

  ~*~*~*~

It had been five weeks since Harley had left, and although I kept telling myself I would hear from him, I never did. I knew he didn’t have my cell phone number, but he could look up the number for the hospital if he wanted, and ask to be put through to the ward.

In the beginning I had virtually jumped on the phone every time it rang, but as the weeks went by, I came to the realisation that he wasn’t going to call me.

The beautiful sketch Harley had drawn of me was still pinned to the corkboard. Every day I would clear any photos or cards that may have been pinned over it, and look at the smile he’d said he loved so much. I was sure I would find that smile again soon.

Casey had decided I’d moped around long enough and needed cheering up, and I guess she was right.

She dragged me to Flannigans, and pointed out every guy between the age of eighteen and thirty as a potential guy to help me forget about the “dirt-bag” Harley. But it was no use. Harley may be a dirt-bag who, in the end, had used me to fill in some time while in hospital, but he was still gorgeous and funny and sexy, and none of the guys she was trying to tempt me with came close.

Finally, just to get her off my back, I decided to return the not-so-subtle flirtations of a guy who had been giving me the eye all night. As soon as I acknowledged his attention, him and his mate came over and offered to buy Casey and me a drink.

We drank shots of tequila. All the while I thought about the body shot I had done from Harley’s abdomen.

The guy, Jeremy, started off sweet enough, but for some reason when he found out we were nurses, his perception of us changed. In his mind, nurse seemed to equal easy, and Jeremy’s hand kept trying to wander up my skirt.

I needed some space, so when it was time for another round of drinks I jumped up, and headed to the bar.

  Chapter 10

  Harley

DISTRACTED AS I checked my hair and shirt for the tenth time, I jumped when the elevator dinged and the doors opened. The sign in front of me told me that North Ward was to the left, and the butterflies started circling as I pushed through the big green double-doors.

I must be crazy for doing this. I’d written my phone number and a little message on the back of the sketch I’d given Toni, telling her I would miss how she tastes until we could be together again. I was sure she would call me, but she never did. How could I have read her so wrong, being positive she would never have crossed that line if she didn’t have feelings for me?

I knew I could be making an absolute fool of myself, but I needed to hear it from her, that what we did meant nothing.

I recognised the duty nurse straight away, but couldn’t remember her name. It had never been important, and it still wasn’t; she was just a means to an end.

Smiling sweetly at her, I hoped she didn’t remember the asshole I had most likely been to her.

“Hi, I’m looking for Nurse Toni. Is she working tonight?” I asked, looking around the ward as I spoke.

Her eyes squinted for a moment, before recognition dawned on her.

“I know you. Room ten, right? I like your sketch of Toni.” She pointed to the corkboard behind her that displayed photos and letters—and my sketch. “I think Toni likes it, too. She looks at it all the time.”

My heart skipped a beat as relief washed over me. I knew straight away that she hadn’t turned the sketch over, because she would never have pinned that to the board, and risked someone else seeing what I’d written. I let out a little chuckle. Thank God.

She smiled. “Toni’s not here. I think Casey dragged her out to get her plastered.”

That was all I needed. Flannigans was their usual bar of choice; they had to be there.

“Thanks,” I called over my shoulder as I practically sprinted back to the lift.

  ~*~*~*~

I opened the door of Flannigans and scanned the bar. The place was packed for a Wednesday night, and I suddenly felt really stupid for being there.

I hadn’t spoken with Toni for five weeks. I had tried to call, but had gotten Sister Crusty-Knickers both times. The first time I had asked to speak to Toni, but was told in no uncertain terms that it was a hospital, not a dating service. The second time she’d answered, I’d hung up.

Instead, I decided to focus all my energy on getting back on my feet and well again, so much so that I had doubled my treatment, and pushed myself to the point where the doctor told me to rest more. The whole time I was in physiotherapy, I was fantasising about the day I could lift her onto my hips and back against a wall, my legs strong enough to support her weight and my own as I ploughed into her.

But now I was doubting myself.

I didn’t even know if she were here, and if she was, would she be pissed with me for not getting in touch even though I had tried?

The crowd standing at the bar waiting to buy a drink shifted, and there she was. Taking a moment to indulge my fantasy, I pictured the smile she was wearing being directed at me before risking the reality of approaching her, and possible rejection.

My eyes skimmed the length of her, from her long legs, to her short red dress that just covered her gorgeous, firm ass. From the side I could see just a hint of cleavage leading up to her slender neck, and finally those beautiful, full lips.

God, those lips were amazing. The things she had done to me with them, and all the things I wanted her to do with them just blew my mind.

The sketches I’d drawn of her didn’t do her justice. My private collection of Toni pictures, which I used to jerk off to, had nothing on the real thing.

“Okay, here goes nothing,” I muttered under my breath as I made my way through the crowd. I lost sight of her and panicked, quickly looking over the heads of the people in front of me, searching for her. There she was. I calmed my shaky nerves and chastised myself for being such a pussy.

She was just a girl, right?

  Wrong.

She wasn’t just a girl, she was ‘the’ girl.

Finally, there was only one step between her and me, I hesitated, then stepped forward and placed my hands on her hips from behind. She tensed, and I immediately regretted the bold action.

Leaning forward quickly, I prayed she would recognise my voice as I whispered in her ear. “So, here we are, just two strangers meeting in a bar. Can I buy you a drink?”

She spun around to face me, her hips still in my hands, my heart leaping out of my chest.

“I haven’t heard from you in five weeks, and then you just turn up here, wanting to buy me a drink?” Her eyebrow was cocked, but she hadn’t stepped back. Still, the tone of her voice made my heart sink.

I’d blown it. I’d left it too long and lost her.

“I did try to call,” I blurted out. “Sister Crusty-Knickers answered and told me it was a hospital, not a dating service.” I looked down at her parted red lips, tryi
ng to fight the urge to lean in and kiss them. “But I know I should have tried harder.”

She tilted her head to one side, surveying me. “You look good. How are you?”

“My legs are completely healed.” There was a dragging in my chest, pulling me towards her. “My heart’s a little shaky though.”

The corner of her mouth twitched. Maybe I wasn’t too late.

“I’m sorry, Toni, I should have kept trying. Instead, I decided to put all my efforts into getting well, so that the next time you saw me you would see me as a man, instead of an invalid who needs help to wash himself or to use the bathroom.” I could feel myself gripping her hips tighter, pulling her closer as I spoke. “I wanted you to see me as a man you might want to be with.”

She wrapped her arms around my neck, pressing her firm body against me. My dick was getting hard, the way it always did when I was near her.

“I have always seen you as a man, Harley.” She leaned forward, burying her nose in my neck. “You smell like a man.” Her lips tugged on my earlobe, making my knees go weak. “You taste like a man.”

Toni ran her hand slowly down my chest. “You feel like a man,” she whispered.

Her hand continued down to my jeans. She hooked her fingers in the waistband and pulled me forward, grinding her hips against my hard-on. “You definitely feel like a man right now.”

My breathing was ragged. I knew she was teasing me, but I didn’t care; she hadn’t walked away from me, she was here, rubbing up against me. I ran my hands down the sides of her body, lightly brushing my thumbs over her pebbled nipples, and smiled. She was as turned on as I was.

“You might want to take the sketch I drew for you off the corkboard before someone sees what I wrote on the back,” I whispered.
