Fledermaus Murphy: Tales from Riverville Page 4

“All four probably need to be replaced. But we finished the Martin Plaza job. I told the crew to take tonight off, since we have more rain forecast.”

“Good. Do I need to brush anyone?”

“Ted and Blackie. Blackie carried the tire and mounted it onto the wheel, and I think Ted pulled something but he won’t admit it.” Digger shrugged. “What can you do?”

“No problem.” Actually, Terra thought, she kinda liked brushing the guys. Real mole fur felt even softer than moleskin fabric, and the moles didn’t shed as much as cats, even if they were the same size. “I’ll take care of everything. Go get some sleep, bro.”

Digger smiled, yawned, gave his sister a half-hug, and went to bed. He set his thick glasses on the table beside him. Another reason to have her around: he was almost as blind as a mole without his glasses.
