The Reluctant Trophy Wife Page 36

by Judith Petres Balogh

While her dream of having children of her own receded into the background at least for the time, her other passion, that of writing, promised to fill the gaping emptiness. She was on her own, proving that she could do what she sat out to do and was truly drunk with the giddy sensation of discovering a new life path.

This was exactly what she wanted while living with Clyde, but the overpowering shadow of his presence and his numbing denial of a spiritual life prevented her from achieving it. The irony of it was that when he sent her into an unwanted exile, she found herself, and gradually understood the purpose of her life. She discovered with awe that finally she was free, independent and a believer. And it was good.

  The end.
