“Hello, little friend,” Meriaus said and smiled.
The tiny claw made the hole a little bigger with it’s disoriented and blind poking.
“Meriaus?” someone knocked at his door and called him.
He covered the terrarium quickly and pulled the curtain to hide it. A smartly dressed Abbot Finn standing at his door asked,
“Are you ready?”
“Yes. I believe I am,” Meriaus answered and notioned to the curtains where the creature was hidden. He adjusted his most special uniform in front of the mirror where Paldek had thankfully not appeared since he gave him the dagger.
The Abbot pulled open the curtain and observed the glass container. He looked over to the newly cracked shell and saw the newborn his lost brotherhood had protected for over millennia. “I see you already fathered out of wedlock.”
He was one to brighten the mood. Nothing would bring back his brothers or his old life, so why not live for the day. “She is a beautiful one. I’m glad she is with you.”
“Yes, do you mean the creature in the egg or the lady who is to be my betrothed?”
Finn snickered.
He would be administering the proceedings for the ceremony, but that did not mean he could not check on his old friend and saviour, “Nervous?”

“Why should I be? Amadalia is a beautiful and smart young woman. I am sure we will make excellent rulers together.”
“And an excellent couple? You are somewhat coerced to marrying one another for the sake of peace between those who support Gudrunn’s death and those who abhor it.”
“If it brings unity between the factions- then so be it,” He adjusted his clothes one more time before turning to exit the room,

“I will seize the opportunity and marry a gorgeous lady,” he laughed.
“Whatever could go wrong with that?”
