“I’m a sucker for a damsel in distress and Clara knows how to play that card well. I’m such an idiot.”
“Blake the hero, the white knight.”
“Shut the fuck up.”
“Captain Tight Ass saves the day.” I couldn’t help but giggle.
“Morning, Lex,” Zach drawled. “Had fun listening in?”
“Didn’t hear a thing,” I yawned. “except for that last part. Who’s Captain Tight Ass?”
“You’re a terrible liar, Lex,” Blake laughed.
“I don’t know what you are talking about.” I sat up and stretched.
The radio buzzed and Kirk who was on forward patrol radioed, “we have a pack about one or two hundred deep coming straight for us.”
Zach and Blake quieted down and slowed the SUV to a halt.
“What are we going to do?” I asked anxiously. They were on the road that we needed to get through.
“All we need to do is get them off the road, create some kind of distraction. Did you run into anything like this, Blake?”
“Yeah, but with the two lane highway we could usually go around. The one time that we couldn’t was when I lost the Humvee.”
“You’re useless, my friend,” Zach laughed, and it was good to hear him joking with Blake again.
“You think we can get them under the bridge? Isn’t that the Pearl River bridge up there? It’s a steep incline down to the river. They wouldn’t be able to get back up,” I suggested.
“You’re right, Lex. All right. I think if you stand on the banks of this side and cause a commotion, you can attract them before they cross the bridge. Get them going downhill on the opposite shore,” Blake suggested. “Zach, go with her, I’ll stay up here with Kirk and Romeo and we’ll take out any stragglers.”
So that is what we did. Zach and I stumbled down the bank of the river. It was a steep incline from the road to the river below and it would be hard for the zombies to make it back up. I went all the way to the bottom and found the perfect position. When we saw the first zombie crest the rise, I started yelling. Zach fired a shot off and I began banging two canteens together. Sure enough, the zombies got worked up into a frenzy, their shuffling bodies turning toward Zach and I. They stumbled and fell down the embankment and got right back up, only to fall more. As more zombies piled on top of each other, they kept the one underneath them down. They pulled and pushed and bit, but as more piled up on top, they just sort of slid until they were at the bottom of the embankment on the shore of the river, not going anywhere, at least not back up to the road.
After about fifteen minutes, we saw no other zombies crest the top and the Zs were starting to cross the river toward us. Most of them were being swept away in the current, but the river didn’t seem to be too deep so I was afraid a few would start to make it across. We didn’t wait to find out. We climbed our way out of the riverbed to the top of the bridge. Blake was just finishing up the last zombie. There were at least a dozen littering the floor of the bridge around them. Kirk, Romeo and Blake looked in good humor though. There was nothing like a round of zombie killing to lighten the mood.
“It worked,” Romeo yelled, a genuine smile plastered across his handsome mug. His face really transformed when he smiled. It wasn’t something I saw often.
“Fucking fantastic idea, Lex,” Blake looked over at me and grinned.
“There is a reason y’all keep me around.” I smiled.
“More than one.” Zach leaned over and kissed me on the neck, sending warm tingles down my body.
“Stop.” I swatted his hand away as he went to fondle my ass.
When I looked up, Blake’s eyes weren’t angry or jealous. Surprisingly, they just regarded us with interest and hunger. I knew what that look meant, but I didn’t want to go there.
###
After the bridge incident, it was just a few more miles until we were over the border and searching around for the distribution center. It was a very rural area and we were going by old pre-Katrina maps. We had relied so heavily on our smart phones pre-Z that most of our maps were outdated. Why update your print maps when your phone GPS can get you anywhere with real time traffic updates?
The area had gone through some changes in the few years since I had been this way, but I managed to lead us down a heavily wooded road until we rolled up on a large warehouse with the logo of the drugstore emblazoned at the front entrance. Score.
This one distribution center supplied most of the Gulf South. It was a regional drug store chain, so there was going to be everything in here, everything.
There were two zombie guards at the small gatehouse entrance, child’s play. Blake and Zach quickly dispatched them. The warehouse was going to be a different story. Places like this employed hundreds of workers. There was no telling how many zombies were going to be inside.
Romeo banged on the door making enough noise to lure any of the dead to where we waited. They were very courteous zombies, too, marching out nicely to exactly where we wanted them. They were quick, but Romeo corralled them into the sunken loading dock and took them out with the modified spear he had perfected, which was my idea. The pits weren’t that deep though and the grade was low enough that they could walk out, so we had to work quickly. Romeo had made four spears and the three of us joined him and dispatched the zombies with quick efficiency.
Jab. Twist. Pullout. Repeat. Jab. Twist. Pullout. Repeat. You didn’t even get any Z goo on you from this vantage point.
Romeo had taken my design and ran with it by adhering the knife to the metal pole by using a welding torch. It worked with deadly efficiency. In under fifteen minutes, we had taken out over thirty Z.
We were in good spirits when we pushed through the doorway to assess what we had on our hands, flashlights at the ready. Those good spirits quickly turned to fear as a body fell from above us and the unmistakable moan of the dead clued us in on what was going down. Biting and kicking, the zombie hit Kirk and took him down to the floor and then chaos erupted. I couldn’t see anything as all the flashlights were pointed this way and that as everyone went for Kirk. All I heard was the big man going down with a loud oomph and the growling and moaning of the dead.
It was too dark. I couldn’t see anything. All I could hear was the moaning of a Z and the grunts of Kirk as he wrestled with it. Just as Kirk cried out in pain, a light flicked back toward where he was, revealing the two struggling bodies. Blake was the one holding the flashlight and pointing it at the floor. Kirk was on his back in a pool of blood. There was a dead zombie at his side with a knife in its head.
I fell down next to Kirk and my hands went to the wound in his leg. It was pooling blood, a red bloom spreading out on his pants.
“What the fuck happened? This isn’t a bite?” I asked when I saw the clean wound.
“Romeo fucking stabbed me,” Kirk groaned and glared at his friend.
“Shit, Kirk, it was dark, I saved your ass.”
“Yeah, you did. Next time maybe wait for a light,” he groaned.
“He could have been eating your face in that time,” Romeo shot back.
“This fucking hurts.” The big man tried to sit up, his face contorted in a wince.
“Stop moving.” I pushed at him to stay down. His shirt had been ripped so I yanked at it, ripping it away from him, revealing his chest and his colorful tattoos. He was inked from neck to wrist, military regulations keeping them from going any further than his shirt collar. I knew he had sleeves, but I hadn’t realized the extent of his art.
“Damn, Lex, all you had to do was ask and I would have been happy to get naked,” he joked, but the pain was evident in his voice.
“All you guys can think about is sex.” I wrapped the sleeve of his shirt around his leg and yanked on it tightly, cinching it with a knot, effectively tying off the wound. “Other than the friendly fire, are you bit?”
“No, just the thigh.”
“We can’t just tie it off, we have to get you back to camp. Isaiah is gonn
a have to look at it, you’ll probably need stitches.” Zach looked worried for his friend. He turned to Romeo. “Make sure it’s tied off well and I hate to say this, but you gotta head back with him. Take the SUV, it will be quicker. We’ll load up and meet you back at base in the morning.”
“Are ya sure, boss? This is a lot of shit to load up by yourself,” Kirk asked.
“It ain’t worth your life just to get an extra set of hands on the job, Kirk. We aren’t going to get all of this loaded up in one supply run anyway. We’ll have to come back. At least now we know it’s here,” Blake said.
I shined the flashlight at a shelf near us and we all looked. Large pallets of what was marked Campbell’s jumped out at us. Romeo whistled.
“We are definitely gonna have to come back,” Blake said.
TWENTY-FIVE
Threes a Crowd
After we secured Kirk and got them on their way, Blake backed the truck in to a loading bay, Zach found a forklift and we began to load up. I scouted out what to take, soup, chips, nuts, boxed meals, and other non-perishable items that were near the loading bay.
The over-the-counter drugs and pharmaceuticals were actually stored under lock and key in another area of the warehouse, but the lock was easy to shoot off and soon we were loading up on antibiotics by the dozens, my blessed birth control pills, and a lot of topical ointments since rashes and bug bites seemed to be the most common injury at the compound.
It took us hours, but we filled the truck with enough food to feed us for a couple of months. The sky was sinking behind the trees just as we were loading the last pallet, so we decided to call it a night and bunk down, heading out tomorrow at first light.
Blake closed up the bay doors and we made our way through the darkness to the offices on the second floor. I was scared we would run into more zombies in the dark, but there were only a few still locked in their offices easily dispatched by Blake. We decided to bunk down in the general manager’s office. It had two rooms and there was a sofa in the front room.
Zach and I would take the actual office part as our little cubby and Blake could sleep on the sofa. I pushed the desk to the side and threw down the self-inflating bed that I had from my personal preps. It seemed like so long ago that I was obsessed with prepping for what I thought would be a big hurricane or EMP blast. Life sure was ironic.
We placed a few mini lanterns around the room, which gave the place a romantic feel.
“Dawn is gonna be here before we know it. We’re secure in here. Let’s get as much sleep as we can and then head out. We can send another team of five as soon as we get back. Jimmy mentioned that he could drive a rig. He can just load up one of the rigs that are lined up in the loading bay,” Zach said, sitting back in an office chair.
“We couldn’t have asked for a better score,” Blake added.
“It is such a remote location. No one but the residents of the small nearby town knew it was here. Doesn’t bode well for the town,” I yawned.
“It caught a lot of small towns unaware. Whole cities and towns are just decimated.” Blake shook his head, a frown crossing his face. “It was surreal when I crossed Louisiana. No sign of life anywhere. For 500 miles, I only ran into a handful of people and half of them were as bad as they come.”
“There will be more people out there–they’re just harder to find, hidden away like us.” I rubbed my eyes tiredly and looked at Blake and Zach. The tension had melted away between the two of them and it almost seemed like the past few months had faded away. “I’m ready for bed, you coming?” I asked Zach.
He nodded and followed me into the little office that was taken up almost completely by my mattress. He went to shut the door, but then paused and turned. He looked back at Blake, who was staring at us. Blake’s eyes met mine and daring anticipation slid through me. When Zach looked to me for confirmation, I nodded my head. Leave the door open.
This time it was intentional. It couldn’t have been better planned. Blake’s sofa faced our room and with the dim lighting I could barely make him out, it wasn’t so in your face. Instead, it was subtle and sexy. He sat down on his sofa as I began peeling off the layers of clothing I used to protect myself. I took off the armor that protected my arms and legs all made with pieces of plastic and rubber tires. They were a pain in the ass to get off, but I managed with only a tiny bit of assistance from Zach. Under the armor, I had a long sleeve tee and jeans on.
Zach came up behind me and began to help me undress when his impatience got the better of him. He stopped only to lay a tender kiss on my neck and my shoulder as my skin was revealed. When he had me down to nothing but my bra and underwear, he looked at me, one eyebrow raised in question.
Did I really want this?
“Yes,” I whispered. I turned around to find Blake’s eyes hungrily taking me in. He watched as Zach peeled off my sports bra and cupped my breasts from behind. His fingertips pinched my nipples making them stand up at attention. His hands slid over my stomach, down my sides and into the warmth of my panties. His finger dipped into the juices that were pooling from my sex and he chuckled appreciatively.
“You are so naughty, always so wet, ready to be fucked.” With a quick motion he pulled my underwear off exposing me to Blake and the chill air of the office.
Blake was now sitting up eagerly taking in our show. I watched with fascination as he undid his pants and pulled out his large cock. Just as he began stroking his dick, Zach began playing with my pussy, circling my clit to coax the pleasure from me. His clever fingers stroked me, pushing back my labia and pushing into my pussy, then back to my clit to spread the moisture over it.
It wasn’t long before I was shuddering with my release, spots popping behind my eyes. My knees buckled and Zach caught me, holding me around the waist. He chuckled, loving how his ministrations affected me. I noticed he was still fully dressed. We needed to fix that. I turned, facing Zach and began undressing him. When he was completely nude, I took his hard cock in my hand and began stroking it. I pulled him to the other side of the blow-up mattress and pushed him down on his back.
I climbed on top of him facing Blake showing him all of me. I reached down and guided Zach’s dick inside of me, squirming as I seated him all the way. Now that I was completely filled, I began plucking at my own tits, massaging them and pulling on them, showing them off to both Zach and Blake as I began to push myself up and down riding Zach’s cock.
I watched as Blake’s strokes sped up and I began to move up and down matching Blake’s pace as he pumped his own dick. When he increased his pace even further, I matched him, riding Zach’s dick harder. I knew both Blake and Zach were close by their heightened breathing. I reached down and began circling my clit to speed myself along, touching myself and moving over Zach just right for optimal arousal. It felt amazing. Watching Blake masturbate, his hungry eyes on me, Zach’s hands on my tits, his dick inside me, was bliss. I forgot where I was. This wasn’t a warehouse with maybe a few zombies lurking in offices ready to eat me. It was just Blake, Zach and me, only us, only our pleasure.
With a shout, Blake came, shooting his come onto the floor. Zach followed filling me with the hot liquid of his release. I moved on top of him for a little while longer, milking his cock and then my own release came in a hot burst. I was in a sexually induced coma before my head even hit the mattress.
###
I awoke having to pee in the middle of the night, so I grabbed one of the mini lanterns and tried to make my way quietly to the ensuite bathroom.
Blake had peeled off all of his clothes and the sheet he was using had pulled to the side to reveal his beautiful naked body. In his sleep, his hand gripped his flaccid cock as if he was remembering the naughty things we did earlier.
When I opened the door after I was finished, the groan of the hinges made Blake stir on the sofa. His eyes popped open and he took in my naked body. I watched as his dick hardened as if on command and I couldn’t help myself, I licked my lips. When I looked over at Zach,
he too had come awake and he was pushing himself up off the bed.
He stood and his cock jutted out in front of him, a temptation. I wanted to take it in my mouth and make him come. I wanted to swallow him.
But when I turned and looked at Blake, his cock ready and waiting, I wanted him too. If only I could have both. And why couldn’t I? Here they were, we were all together naked with one thing on our minds. Why couldn’t we all come together?
“I want you both,” I whispered. “I want to fuck you both together.”
My whispered confession seemed to have a sobering effect on the boys because Blake sat back down and Zach looked at me questioningly.
“Why can’t we? Both of you say you love me. I love both of you too. We are friends. We can make this work. It’s a new world. We can write our own future. There is no one to judge or condemn.” I looked from Zach to Blake hoping that I wasn’t pushing my luck.
“I don’t know, Alexis, I don’t think I could share you,” Zach confessed. “After what we’ve had, I don’t think I could watch you with another man and like it.”
“What other choice do we have? Whoever I’m with, the other will be miserable. Plus, logically there are very few women on S-Island and probably in the world. Two guys and one girl might be all the rage in a couple of years.” I tried to make light of it, but the boys didn’t laugh.
“Zach’s right, it was hard to see you with him,” Blake spoke up.
“You looked like you were enjoying it,” I argued, pissed that he would take Zach’s side.
“I did.” Blake looked at me and smiled, but then his eyes found Zach’s and his smile faded. “But that didn’t change the fact that I wanted to pound your face in because you were fucking her, Zach. It was extremely hot, but I was jealous. It was crazy watching you get her off. I haven’t come like that by my own hand in a long time. But if this is my way to be with you, Lex, then I’m willing to give it a try.” He moved closer to me and Zach.
