Fate of Thorik

Draq was pulled deeper into the water as he fought to free his tail.

The Giant Sea Snake dragged the Red-Tipped Silver Dragon along the Weirfortus wall in an attempt to kill him. Slapping Draq against the wall only embedded his pointed tail farther into the snake.

Draq’s claws scratched at the stone in hopes of finding something to grasp on the smooth wall. His air was limited and he would need to escape soon if he had any chance of surviving.

Without warning, the wall disappeared from his view, in what appeared to be a large opening into the Weirfortus structure. Draq prepared himself for the other side of the opening. When it came, he flung his body against the inside wall of the entrance and grabbed on with everything he had.

Slapping his body onto the inside wall of the tunnel caused serious pain, but the quick jar released the dragon. Shaking it off as fast as possible, Draq quickly swam through the tunnels entrance. The chase was back on, but this time Draq was the prey and the snake was not encumbered with Gluic.

Draq realized that he had made a critical mistake. He had no idea if this tunnel would lead to air, something he desperately needed. “No point in second-guessing myself,” he thought. Faster and faster he pierced through the water as the snake gained on him.

It was getting dark and difficult to see, even for his exceptional eyesight. Nothing was in view and he was hoping he would not run into a wall at this speed. The only benefit to the darkness was, with any luck, the snake also was blinded.

Starting to doubt himself, he considered making a sharp turn in the dark and head back out of the tunnel. But before he began the maneuver, he spied a slight light ahead. Racing with everything he had he breached the water’s surface. “Air,” he rejoiced with a large gasp.

A faint light could be seen down the tunnel. It was the last thing he saw as the snake attacked him from behind and swallowed him whole.
