John and Paul were outside when Pam and Matt came out.
John said that was a big pile of dead bodies that your guy’s burned.
Matt said that was the first time they ever had to clean up that many dead and get rid of them.
John asked Matt, what happen did they get in somewhere?
Matt said that they got in when one of are men fell asleep and they broke through by the baseball field.
Paul asked, what happen to the person that fell asleep?
Matt told them that he was killed by the undead, he told us before he died that he fell asleep and that he was so sorry. He also told John and Paul that they could not blame him, we were so shorthanded that everyone we had were on guard for two to three days at a time.
The move was going good they were just about done with getting all the animal out of there.
As the night fell on them, they all headed back into the school for the night. They had no powerwhat so ever, the school was so dark they couldn’t even see three feet in front of them.
Matt light a candle that was next to the door. He told them to follow him to the main room.
John asked, how do you all live without light?
Matt told him that the main room has light, but it is lite up by candles as well.
Mia was already in the main room that had the room lite up candles. When John and the other came into the room, Mia went over to John and told him that the kitchen was packed and gone to the New City.
John told her that was good, but did you leave food so that we could eat in the morning.
Mia said yes, we packed up a box for us to use in the morning I even had them leave some coffee for us.
Paul looked at Mia and said you are a life saver.
Mai asked, what do you mean by that?
Paul told her, because you made sure that we are going to have coffee in the morning. John said yes, you know that we are going to need coffee in the morning. Mia told them both I know that we are going to need that coffee, we are going to be up early in the morning to get the rest of this place packed and ready to move. Matt told Paul and John that he was glad that we had plenty of people that came with us to help on guarding the place for tonight so that his people could get some rest. John told him that we could see that your people were getting very tired and we knew that they needed to get some sleep.
Matt told John and Paul that everyone was going to stay in this main room for the night.
Kathy and her husband wer e happy to be together once again. The months that’s they were separated, Brad seen a big different in his wife Kathy. She has become stronger and more independent. Brad loves what she has become, and that she kept her and their son alive.
Kathy has seen a big different in her husband as well, he is also stronger and ready to do what needs to be done.
Brad and Kathy were going to be around for a long time to come.
The next morning John and Paul got everyone around to finish up getting everything ready to go.
Mia went into to the kitchen to pack the rest of the food that they saved for that morning. She put everything that was left.
John and Paul were outside with Matt, to make sure that everything was getting packed so that they could get out of there by noon.
Matt told Paul that everything was going good and that they should be done and ready to leave well before noon.
Paul said that is great, if we are back in New City before noon would be great and you all will be in a better place.
Back at New City the new people that arrived there two days ago were doing great they like being there they had hot running water, lights and a home to live in. The New City was a happy place, some of the new people that came in found loved ones and old friends.
The farm that they had was now two times bigger. There were fresh eggs, milk, and more meat. Everyone was getting along with one another.
There was no more money everyone shared, but no one knew how long it was going to last.
Jim wanted to hold a big meeting in the middle of the City, but he was going to wait until John and Paul got back with the rest of the people before he held the meeting. Jim told Kathy about his plans on having the meeting and that he would like for her to be there as well. He told her that she was going to be second in command. Kathy said that she would love to be, but she said that she didn’t know if she was a good leader.
Jim told her that she held her group of people together and that she was perfect for the job.
Kathy looked at Jim and said that if you believe in me that much then I will take the job and do the best she can.
Jim told her that they have a lot of things to do. We need to come up with a plan to find more people and more animals to add to the farm. We will need to find people in our group that can grow food. We will also need to find people that can build us a greenhouse to grow plants in the winter time.
Kathy told Jim that they could do that, she also said that when they there is a few people that I know that can hunt and trap. They can also find people out there and bring them back.
That night they held there meeting. Kathy had the group of people that she told Jim about.
Jim asked them if can get with Paul and John they will let you know what we need you men a women know what we need done.
