Awakening (The Magic of the Black Forest Book 2) Page 20

by Macy Farmer

The last store we stopped at, I found a ring I really liked. I admired it so much so that I tried it on. That’s a rarity. I’m not really into jewelry, not like some women. This particular ring fit nicely and surprisingly, it looked stunning on my hand. Made of silver, it had a butterfly crown filled with an emerald.

Without even checking the price, I returned it to the sales person and caught up with Colleen, who was now admiring an old chestnut desk. While waiting for her I scanned the store for the guys. Found them at the other end of counter, checking out the antique knives.

My husband is one handsome, sexy man, and, I am one lucky lady. My eyes drifted to his perfectly shaped butt. Inhaling deeply, I pictured my hand sliding into his back pocket just to cop a feel. My eyes slowly ascending, checking out the rest of his body, found Bradley staring right at me with a huge grin on his face, seemingly amused. Flushed, I twisted around, returning my attention to Colleen. She was trying to discreetly get the salesperson to give her the price of the desk.

“Darn!” She swore under her breath before admitting, “That’s too much. Jess will never go for it.” Spinning around to address the salesperson again, “Thanks anyway.”

Before heading back to join the guys I handed her some cash, asking that she pick up and pay for a gift I picked out for Bradley when no one was looking. She agreed, mumbling that it wasn’t fair that she wasn’t allowed to purchase anything she wanted.

Earlier, when I was trying on the ring I saw a set of cuff links and a tie clip with a “J,” for Jenkins, on them. Discreetly I requested the clerk to box them up, mentioning that I’d be sending Colleen over later to pay for it.

Colleen’s pouting turned to anger when she saw Jesse buying what looked like one of the knives. We walked up just as the salesperson handed Jess the bag.

Bradley, seeing the fury in Colleen’s eyes, quickly pulled me out of the line of fire by putting his arm around my waist, and guiding me out of the store. The timing was perfect; I didn’t want him to see Colleen buying his gift so I went along willingly.

As we approached the truck he said, “Colleen didn’t look too happy so I thought we should give them some privacy.” He dropped the tailgate, lifted and sat me on it. Spreading my legs apart, he stood between my thighs, while resting his hands on my hips. “Will you tell me something?”

Cupping the palm of my right hand on his left cheek I wondered if he shaved his scruffy beard, would it grow back. Since becoming a vampire, I don’t recall him having to shave or trim his beard once.

“What do you want to know, my love?”

“What were you thinking about when we were in the store?” Placing his finger under my chin he tilted my head upwardly, for my eyes to meet his. “Do you mind if I take a look?” My favorite smile spread wide across his face. Without hesitation and forgetting about the gift I just bought him, I nodded.

After a soft kiss on the nose he whispered, “Thanks.”

His reactions always made me wonder what he was looking at. Sometimes I could actually see the shape of his irises change, the star getting bigger, when he was searching through my memories.

For a few minutes he gazed into my eyes reading and searching. His eyes went wide and he growled. I was pretty sure that whatever he just saw, he didn’t like. Angered, he closed his eyes for a moment but didn’t let go of my chin.

After opening them again he continued. “We’ll talk about that later. May I finish? I could almost see it.”

“S-sure.” I stuttered, becoming a bit nervous at having no clue as to what he saw.

A few moments later he smiled, blinked and let go. “Hmm, so you were checking me out and fantasizing about my butt in the middle of a public store.” Sliding me closer to the edge of the tailgate, towards him, he kissed my nose again. I had hoped for more than a peck on the nose but that would have to suffice for now.

“What did you think I was feeling?”

“I thought you were anxious about something.” He rolled his eyes, “I can’t believe I misinterpreted that.” He shrugged his shoulders. “So you think my butt is perfectly shaped?” He laughed but I could tell by the look in his eyes that he really wanted to know.

“Yes, I do. I can’t wait until we get home tonight.”

To kill the time while waiting for Jess and Colleen, we necked like two horny teenagers on the tailgates of the truck. Upon their return we were heading to dinner.

After dinner we went and picked up the dryer. Once it was secured to the bed of truck we all piled in and headed to the drive-in.

Just in case dogs weren’t allowed, Seager hid next to the dryer, under a blanket

After we settled in for the movie the guys headed to the stand to buy some popcorn, candy and soda. While they were gone I double checked with Colleen that she picked up Bradley’s gift.

“Yes, I have it. No worries. Nat. You have good taste. Brad will really like it.” Colleen still sounded a little upset about something but I wasn’t going to pry.

“That’s a relief. I was a little concerned about that.” I giggled. “He really doesn’t dress like that but it would be nice for when he did.”

Thankfully, it didn’t take long for the guys to return. Bradley and I won the back seat in the coin toss. Apparently that’s the place to be when you’re at a drive-in. We were seeing two movies I’d never heard of. One was a romantic comedy and the other an action flick. Apparently the movies you’re seeing don’t matter either.

I tried concentrating on the movie but it was very difficult especially with Bradley staring at me and sitting so close to me. When I couldn’t resist any longer I looked into his dark smoldering eyes. Wow! Once again I allowed myself to be willingly trapped. He slowly grazed my left cheek with the back of his right hand.

“Are you going to show me why it’s so important to be in the back seat at a drive-in? It’s certainly not for the ‘B’ flick.” I said flirtatiously, hoping to entice him into giving me the back seat experience. Not that I truly knew what that meant, but by the way Colleen and Jess were going at it in the front seat, it had to be better than this.

“It would be my pleasure. Are you sure you don’t want to watch the movie?” He started kissing the hollow of my ear, working slowly down my neck. He reached his right hand across me, brushing it against my breast before cupping the right side of my face. I couldn’t vocally express how it felt because Jess and Coll were in the truck too. They were lying down, I couldn’t even see them.

“Mrs. Jenkins, movie, or backseat experience?” His tongue traced my outer ear.

“Do we get to lie down? I want the backseat experience.” Before even finishing he began shifting our bodies, lying us down on the backseat. “I’m really glad that we have an extended cab.”

Beside me, face to face, sliding his hand behind my knee he pulled my leg up over his hip. Our eyes locking, my breath caught. Leaning in for a kiss Bradley cupped my breast. A little surprised I emitted an audible gasp.

“Sh. Natalia, try to respond silently.”

  “Impossible.”

He laughed softly. “You have to or we need to watch the movie.”

  “Okay I’ll try… I won’t promise anything.”

Sliding his hand up under my shirt he found his way into my bra and began to awkwardly rub my breast. The kissing was pure heaven, soft and lots of tongue. So it appeared that we are going to have foreplay in the backseat. That sounds -- no feels -- good to me. I reached my hand down, unbuttoned and unzipped his pants, then grabbed hold of him. He pulled his head back slightly to look at me. He looked shocked.

“What? I am your wife, am I not allowed to play? You are.” I giggled.

He smiled. “Typically the guy does the groping in the back seat. I have never had any female attack me as much as you do. It may begin to affect my ego.”

I continued stroking and staring intensely into his eyes.

“Really? Well it’s lucky you met me then. See what you’ve been missing? As for your ego, I’m sur
prised you don’t already have one. You’re very handsome and sexy.”

His upper lip rose up over his teeth. Now he was the one having difficulty with being discreet, keeping his breathing even and low. I didn’t stop, determined to make him come.

“When you’re ready, my love, the right side of my neck is protected.” I fondled his balls, giving them much needed attention before stroking his cock faster.

With his lips kissing my neck he struggled with his words, “Natalia, you’re going to make me come.”

  “Shhh.” I giggled.

Exploring my neck with his tongue and lips, his hips were pressing firmly against mine, making it hard for me to jerk him off. “You feel so good, you’re enormous.”

It took everything I had to refrain from screaming when he bit into my neck. The pain was worse than before, but the pleasure? Ten times better… seconds later, I felt his seed spill into my hand. Grabbing my left shoulder, pressing my back against the seat, he pinned me, unable to move. I could hear him sucking my blood, swallowing mouthful after mouthful. The more he took of me the tighter he held me, pressing me against the seat. Suddenly I started to panic, my left hand clenching his shirt, involuntarily pushing him away. The moment the panic consumed me, Bradley felt it and released me immediately.

Strangely, as if he hadn’t been aware of everything that happened just moments before my mishap, he took his handkerchief from his back pocket, wiped my hand off, and cleaned himself up. He threw the handkerchief in the trash bag hanging from the front passenger seat before zipping and buttoning up his jeans.

“I’m sorry, Natalia, please forgive me. I shouldn’t have let you. It shouldn’t have happened.” He sat us up, wiped my neck with a tissue, then placed me by the window while he sat by the other window. I slid over and practically sat on top of him.

“Don’t apologize. I’m the one who should apologize for ruining the end.”

He just stared out the window. Placing my hand on his chin, I attempted to force him to face me. I could not succeed on my own.

  “That’s not fair, Bradley!”

  Still no response.

I slid back to the other side of the truck and got out. I heard Colleen ask where I was going, “To the bathroom.” When I got to the snack bar I just kept walking. Before I realized it I had walked out of the Drive-in.

It’s not fair how he can read my mind but I can’t read his. If he had just given me a chance I would have told him why I panicked. I have NEVER done anything like that before especially in the back seat of a truck, with two friends in the front seat, in the middle of a drive-in. I’m entitled to that emotion. It would have disappeared within a few moments. Like now for instance, I’m mad at him because he ruined it for me. I pleasured him. I stopped and thought, YAY and did my happy dance; twirling around and waving my hands in the air.

Unwilling to let Bradley ruin this for us, I spun around and started walking back to the drive-in. It’s another ‘first’ we both got to experience together, another good one, too. Even though I could feel Bradley getting closer to me, I started to run to him. Bad idea for me. Of course I fell and scraped my hands. I was standing up when a vehicle burned rubber coming out of the drive-in. Looking up I saw my truck. Quickly, it flew up to me then slammed on the brakes, skidding to a stop, with me standing next to the back door. I didn’t see or hear Bradley get out of the pick-up. Within seconds of the Chevy stopping Bradley had his arms wrapped around me with his hands holding my head against his chest like I was something fragile and breakable.

“I keep messing up tonight. Please forgive me.” He pulled away and bent down to brush off my knees. “I saw you fall. Did you hurt yourself?” Holding my hands in his, he examined them. There were a few pebbles embedded in my skin but they didn’t break through. Bradley just wiped them away. Now he was just gawking at me, waiting for me to say something. Well if that’s what he wanted then I’d be more than happy to give it to him.

“I only panicked because I had never pleasured you like that. I got to, for once; please you without you pleasing me. And my first time was in the back seat of a truck, in the middle of a drive-in with two of my closest friends sitting in the front seat.” I stomped my feet, got in his face and poked him hard in the chest. “Had you waited one moment… Had you just trusted yourself and me, in us, then we could have been savoring the moment right now instead of this.” I waved my hands erratically in the air. “It’s so mind boggling to me how you cannot know by now how safe and protected I feel when you’re with me. To think that I would panic because you held me tightly, especially since I’m the one always begging for you to hold me tighter, are you kid…”

Bradley cut my ranting off with a kiss. His tongue seductively licked my lips, pressing his body against mine, he held me tightly, just the way I liked it. After a few moments, Colleen interrupted us asking if we were ready to go. During our quarrel, they had jumped into the back seat. After dropping Jess and Colleen off, we headed home.

When we pulled up, Dave and Cheryl were sitting on our front porch. As we approached Dave said, “Evening, everyone. Brad, I really need to talk to you…” He looked at the three of us, “…in private. It’s really important.”

“Sure, Dave. We can go for a run. Just give me a few moments.” Bradley walked me into the house. “Natalia, I’ll be back later. Don’t wait up.”

I tried to control my emotions but there were too many questions running through my mind. The one that concerned me the most was what is Cheryl going to be doing while they took a run?

Sensing my concern he asked, “What’s the matter?”

“Are you taking Cheryl with you?” Fear ran through me remembering the last time we were alone together.

He embraced me tightly and whispered, “I promise you she won’t be staying here with you.” Gently, he kissed my forehead and left, “I’ll be back as soon as I can. I love you.”

More exhausted than I thought, I fell asleep quickly.

  ***

Dreaming, I had to be dreaming. I stood in a field of wildflowers with the sun beaming down on me. It felt nice and warm against my face. Everything about the dream had been pleasant. I wasn’t alone though, someone was holding my hand, and it wasn’t Bradley. The hand felt too warm, the same temperature as mine. I looked up but before I could catch a glimpse of whom it was, he started spinning and twirling me around, dancing. My eyes were able to focus on my dancer after he laid me down on the grass and leaned in to kiss me.

Startled and confused, I woke. I reached for Bradley but he still wasn’t in our bed. I whispered his name and heard no response. Relieved that he didn’t get a vibe from my dream I laid back down to try and figure out what it meant. It was strange to me. The man in my dream was Bill, Dave and Bradley’s friend. For some reason as he leaned in to kiss me, I didn’t stop him. I wanted it. My feelings weren’t the same as they were for Bradley, but I did feel something. I tried to recall the few times I met Bill, to see if I could figure out what brought this strange dream on. Nothing came to mind. To me he was average, nothing to write home about. Not like Bradley, who was so handsome he took my breath away. Confusion ran through me. Feeling restless, I tossed and turned until drifting lightly back to sleep. I didn’t dream this time and when I woke Bradley was there beside me, holding me.

  “What time is it?”

“It’s about four in the morning. Did I wake you?”

“No. I wasn’t sleeping too well.”

“I noticed. You were tossing and turning. You kept mumbling that you didn’t mean to kiss him, it just happened.” He kissed my ear. “So who did you accidently kiss?” I could tell by the way he kissed my neck that the words I said in my sleep had bothered him. Typically his kisses, no matter where they were, were like heaven and made it hard for me to concentrate. This time they were nice but he wanted me to focus, to remember. Even though I didn’t recall having a second dream I was pretty sure I knew who he was talking about.

  “I don’t remember dream
ing.” I wasn’t lying. “Did I say anything else?”

“Just that you loved me.” A vision popped into my head of Bradley asking to take a peek to see whom I dreamt about. So of course I changed the subject.

“See nothing to worry about. So what did Dave want? Is everything okay?” I’m more concerned with that then some dream I had.

“Would you mind if we talked about it in the morning? I was hoping to spend some quality time holding you in my arms while you slept.” Pulling me in closer, with his breath on the back of my neck, he embraced me tightly.

“Okay, I guess.” But if we’re not going to talk then there’s only one other option I’m interested in.

“Aren’t you tired?” He asked with his lips gently dragging along my shoulder. Before I could answer I yawned making him chuckle. “Go to sleep. Natalia, my love, have only sweet dreams.” He started humming a tune that led me off to dreamland. This time with his arms wrapped around me I slept more soundly.

  ***

At first I thought I was having another dream and this time it was with Bradley. When I woke, I realized it hadn’t been a dream after all. Bradley had gone down on me and I woke when his fingers entered me. Pleased but perplexed, I called him, trying to pull him up. He didn’t stop at all, continuing until I finished. At which time he slowly kissed his way up to my chin.

“Good morning, my love.” He said between kisses.

Gasping for air I smiled, “Yes it is.”

He laughed, “I’m pleased when you’re pleased. How about I make you some breakfast?”

Naturally, after the way he woke me, I was famished and accepted his offer.

Bradley cooked me delicious French toast for breakfast. While eating I wondered if he had been a chef in a past life. For someone who doesn’t eat he’s an unbelievably good cook.

Over breakfast Bradley gave me some bad news. The reason Dave wanted to talk to him was because Andrew had been around town looking for us, making threats to kill us both. Dave came up with a way to draw Andrew out so that they, Bradley and the guys, could take him down.
