I was elated when I saw MeMe’s car pull up. I had told her that Mega was getting out and we were leaving for Miami. She got out the car with Jamelia and Mega walked towards the car and met them. He and Meme hugged each other and she cried like a baby. Watching them melted my heart because they were so close before their grandma had passed. It was good seeing them put the past behind them. We stayed until it was time for us to hit that road.
“A’ight y’all, we ‘bout to pull out,” Mega said as we got in the car. We all hugged each like one big family because we were.
“Bye y’all drive safely! We love y’all!” Kira, Rock, and Meme were saying as we pulled out of the driveway.
I couldn’t get rid of the smile that was planted on my face even if I tried. Mega held my hand into his as we made our way down to the Sunshine State. I looked over at him still smiling.
“Thank you Mega.”
“For what Mrs. Lady?”
“For introducing me to that hood love!”
We both laughed at that statement but I was dead ass serious. I just hoped and prayed that now he and I could finally have our happily ever after!
