Writing a crime novel can be a little technical for us mere mortals who don’t work in policing. We have procedural books and Google, but there’s nothing quite like having a real detective to ask. DS Bruce Irving, you have been brilliant in answering all my police-related questions, and I’m so grateful for the time you’ve given me. I know your time is precious so thank you so much. I look forward to our continued working relationship.
Lastly, I have to thank my husband, Nigel Buckley. You always encourage me, even when I’ve lost belief in myself. Writing is like riding a rollercoaster. One day you can be filled with confidence in what you’ve written or published, and another you can be crippled with the darkest of self-doubt. Nigel has seen all aspects of me during my journey as a writer and he’s always been there to support me, give me a pep talk and replace my doubt with self-belief. Without that self-belief, I wouldn’t be where I am today. Thank you so much, Nigel.
