  Treasured by the Dragon

  Stonefire Dragons #13

If someone had told Dawn Chadwick that she’d be attending a play put on by children on a dragon-shifter’s land a year ago, she would’ve said they were mad. However, her daughter Daisy has slowly worn Dawn down about her prejudices and she ends up volunteering to help with the play. She’s to assist an eccentric dragonman with the special effects. What she didn’t count on was her daughter’s meddling.

Blake Whitby prefers working in a lab to being around people. He’s a rare white dragon with a black spot, and the attention from a young age has made him hide from others. However, he’s always had a weakness for children and agrees to help them with their play. What he didn’t count on was meeting a beautiful human with a sense of humor and a heart-warming smile. His dragon wants her, but Blake holds back. At least until two kids make holding back impossible.

While Dawn agrees to the mate-claim frenzy with Blake, there’s no guarantee their pairing will work. And when Dawn’s family threatens to cut her and Daisy off, Blake has to convince them both he wants them as his future.

  The Dragon’s Choice

  Tahoe Dragon Mates #1

After Jose Santos's younger sister secretly enters them both into the yearly dragon lottery and they get selected, he begrudgingly agrees to participate. It means picking a human female from a giant room full of them and staying around just long enough to get her pregnant. However, when his dragon notices one female who keeps hiding behind a book, Jose has a new plan—win his fated mate, no matter what it takes.

Victoria Lewis prefers being home with a book and away from large crowds. But she desperately wants to study dragon-shifters at close range, so she musters up her courage to enter the dragon lottery. When she's selected as one of the potential candidates, she decides to accept her spot. After all, it's not as if the dragon-shifter will pick her—an introverted bookworm who prefers jeans and sweats to skirts or fancy clothes. Well, until he's standing right in front of her with flashing eyes and says he wants her.

As Jose tries to win his fated female, trouble stirs inside his clan. Will he be able to keep his mate with him forever? Or will the American Department of Dragon Affairs whisk her away to some other clan to protect her?

NOTE: This is a quick, steamy standalone story about fated mates and sexy dragon-shifters near Lake Tahoe in the USA. You don't have to read all my other dragon books to enjoy this one!

  Author’s Note

A huge thanks to my readers for their patience with this story. I effectively took a two-year break from my Stonefire series to write about other dragon-shifter clans (Lochguard, Skyhunter, Snowridge, and even PineRock). While I know some people probably gave up on me for that, all of the UK-based books I wrote play into what happened in Persuading the Dragon. This book took a huge step forward in the overall universe storyline. And to make it all believable, a lot of little things needed to be put into place.

Also, writing a true enemies-to-lovers story is difficult because the pacing is so important. It’s not hyperbole to say this is one of the hardest books I’ve written in a while. But with it done, I can have a little more fun before we have to deal with the dragon hunters, too.

As always, there are some people I’d like to thank for their help:

  ● Becky Johnson and her team at Hot Tree Editing. Becky always catches the little things, and even after all these years, she still makes me a better writer.

  ● Iliana G., Donna H., Sabrina D., and Sandy H. are my fantastic beta-readers and they catch the lingering typos and inconsistencies. Iliana in particular pointed out a scientific uh-oh I missed, which I then fixed! Thanks to all my wonderful betas.

And lastly, thanks to you, the reader. You make my dream job a reality! At the time of writing this, we’re coming up on the Six Year Anniversary of Sacrificed to the Dragon, which started this crazy journey. Here’s to hoping you follow along for many more books to come. I’ll see you at the end of the next story!

  About the Author

Jessie Donovan has sold over half a million books, has given away hundreds of thousands more to readers for free, and has even hit the NY Times and USA Today bestseller lists. She is best known for her dragon-shifter series, but also writes about elemental magic users, alien warriors, and even has a crazy romantic comedy series set in Scotland. When not reading a book, attempting to tame her yard, or traipsing around some foreign country on a shoestring, she can often be found interacting with her readers on Facebook. She lives near Seattle, where, yes, it rains a lot but it also makes everything green.
