Jake glowered at the man and pulled the shirt over his head, his bare back rubbing against the wooden floor. Then he reached forward and ripped the buttons from the captain’s shirt, a satisfying popping sound accompanied each one as they flew around the room. The man’s bare chest, muscular and thick with brown curls, heaved.

Holden growled and yanked off Jake’s jeans and boxers, the rugged material slipped off his legs in one quick swipe. He only had a moment to wonder when he’d lost his shoes before the captain’s tongue tickled the tip of Jake’s dripping cock.

A strangled moan escaped his lips as the mouth swallowed him, teeth and tongue working his shaft with masterful precision. Jake’s vision blurred, the world narrowing to the sensation in his groin. No! He had to focus. Holden Walker would not get the best of him!

Jake scooted across the floor, his bare ass rubbing the smooth wood, but the captain’s mouth followed him, his lips clamped over Jake’s dick, his head bobbing hungrily. Growling, Jake pulled the alpha’s hair.

Holden looked at him, a little line of saliva trailing off his bottom lip as he released his hold on Jake’s member. “Do you want to join my pack now?” the man asked and smirked.

  “No. I never said that!”

“I guess you’ll need further persuasion.”

The look of determination on Captain Walker’s face made his intentions clear, and Jake knew he’d give into them if he stayed- which meant he needed to go. He needed to get away from the man that overrode his sense of self with unholy desire. Scrambling to his feet, Jake ran for the door.

Holden slammed into him a moment later, Jake’s body sandwiched between the wall and the captain. “You’re not getting away, little wolf. Don’t you understand what this is?”

Jake growled, pushing back into the slightly taller man, but he didn’t shift at all. “No!”

A hand cupped Jake’s rounded ass, a finger rubbing between his cheeks with eager need. “We’re made for each other,” the alpha whispered in his ear, his voice deep and commanding.

Jake twitched, his asshole gasping as the finger tickled it into an excited frenzy. Every nerve in his body cried out for more while his brain tried to fight them off. This couldn’t be happening. This man wasn’t made for him. They couldn’t be-

Hot kisses trailed down his back, the captain’s tongue blazing a path right over his spine while fingers tweaked Jake’s nipples to life. The lone wolf groaned, the fight seeping out of his body as he gave into the overwhelming delight of the man’s touch.

He needed to run. Get away. If he didn’t-

Holden’s tongue teased his entrance, the light flicks of moisture sent shocks of electricity over his flesh. Jake moved his hips, pressing into the wall to avoid the assault, but it was no use. Each stroke aroused him further, sweat breaking out on his already feverish skin even in the cool night air. Another lick and his hungry hole quivered; his whole body awash with desire for more.

“Yes. See how your body responds? You’re mine. Do you want me to prove it to you?”

Jake moaned. He wanted to say ‘no,’ but the words wouldn’t come out of his mouth. The only thing his body wanted at the moment was Holden’s cock in his aching ass. Damn his weakness!

Suddenly, the alpha pulled him back, forcing Jake onto his knees and pulling his ass in the air. “I did come prepared,” the captain said and rummaged through his pants for a moment.

Jake glanced back at the man, a little bottle of lube in his hands as he finished undressing. If he ran now- No, the pounding need in his cock wouldn’t let him go. But if he didn’t, if he let Holden Walker claim him then they’d be-

A thick finger slid into his ass, the abrupt entrance burning his back and balls. Jake groaned as the alpha eased it in and out, his whole body melting into the touch of the man behind him while his mind reeled with the consequences of his actions.

  “I’m not joining your pack.”

Holden chuckled. “I think I’ll change your mind,” he said and slipped in a second finger, the tip ticking Jake’s sweet spot until he moaned again.

“You’re so tight. How long’s it been?”

Jake bit his bottom lip. He’d never had a wolf lover for obvious reasons. Even the human’s he’d met left a painful mark on his heart if he got too close. “Never. At least not with a man.”

The alpha stopped his probing and placed a gentle kiss on Jake’s back. “This is your first time?”

“Shut up! I’m not some prissy little virgin,” Jake said, his skin burning. At least it was dark enough the captain didn’t see him flush.

“Very well.” The fat head of Holden’s lubed dick pressed into his ass slowly, the girth of it stretching Jake to his limit. Gasping, the lone wolf laid his face on the floor- his dick softening at the shock of the other man’s entrance.

“I’ll let you get used to it,” Holden said, his voice gentler than it’d been all evening. Reaching around, he pumped Jake’s cock back to attention with a few swift jerks, his thumb rubbing across the sensitive head until Jake moaned into his touch.

This was it. His life- his freedom- they were all gone.

The alpha’s slow thrusts wiped all thoughts from Jake’s mind. Each delicate plunge of the man’s throbbing length matched perfectly with the hand teasing his cock. Jake dug his nails into the floor, scratching the hard surface as his body, slick and exposed, gave into the torrent of passion rushing through it.

“Fuck me,” he gasped, unable to stand Holden’s plodding pace.

“Are you sure?” the captain asked, his voice gruff with desire.

“Yes!” Jake pleaded, moving his hips back into the alpha’s dick.

A large hand wrapped around his stomach, fingers gripping onto the bruised flesh just as the first thrust slammed into him. The overwhelming thrill of pleasure flowed through Jake’s veins, and he screamed into his arm. The velvet slickness of each thundering plunge into his ass made it impossible to think of anything else. His body responded on its own, shoving back into the captain’s cock as the man’s powerful grasp jerked his aching member.

He was owned. Stuck. Imprisoned. And he’d never felt so alive.

Another thrust, Jake’s balls twitched. Another. His body sang, bathed in the sweetest surrender. Another. He gasped, back rigid, as he spurted his load all over the floor. Another. His body a whimpering mass of nerves as the captain slammed into him again and again. Finally, Holden emptied his own seed, his fingers squeezing Jake’s hips as he buried himself to the hilt inside the lone wolf’s body.

Twitching and bruised, Jake collapsed onto the floor, panting into his arms. He wasn’t sure if he’d ever catch his breath again. Holden fell on the floor next to him, both of their bodies glistening with sweat in the moonlight. Staring at the alpha, Jake wasn’t sure what to say. He’d never been in this situation before- never felt so utterly helpless. And now he was trapped.

Suddenly, the captain smiled, his eyes weary in the aftermath of their passion. “Did I convince you?"

“I don’t see how I have a choice considering you just claimed me,” Jake said, although his voice contained none of its earlier malice. He didn’t have the energy for malice after all that.

Holden brushed the dark hair from his forehead. “We’re mates, Jake Anderson. I know you feel it too. It’s part of our nature.”

Mates for life. That’s how it worked, and a man he’d just met suckered him into it. A gorgeous and infuriating man. “If you say so.”

Captain Walker pulled Jake into him, wrapping his arms around the lone wolf’s muscular body and kissing his head with surprising tenderness. “I do. Forever. I do.”

Jake relaxed into the strong arms, letting his eyes slip shut in a mixture of fatigue and contentment. Forever with Captain Holden Walker was bound to be interesting.

  Chapter 2

Sunlight streamed through the thin white curtains and into Jake’s room, waking the lone wolf from his slumber. The muscular arm of his mate wrapped around his wai
st, Holden’s musk filling his nose and exciting his senses with lusty need. Damn. It’d been just under a month since he moved to the small Idaho town. One month since his entire life turned upside down because of an overpowering alpha. Sure, Jake had felt the instant connection between the two of them when they first met- the tingling sensation of want deep in his groin, but that didn’t mean he wanted to give into his ancient werewolf instincts! Turns out he didn’t have much of a choice. His body needed his mate even if his mind didn’t want to acknowledge it.

Jake looked at the man next to him, the gentle rising and falling of his muscular chest as he slept. Holden’s golden tan skin and light brown hair, cut short and neat, fit his police captain vibe perfectly. His ruggedly handsome features, strong jaw and straight nose, were only softened by the fullness of his lips. Reaching forward, Jake ran a long, pale finger across his lover’s pout. The slight lines around Holden’s eyes gave away his age, just over thirty, like Jake.

Before coming to Kellogg, Idaho Jake was a lone wolf. He never had a pack and wasn’t looking for a mate. In fact, he’d steered clear of anything besides one night stands for years- and all of those, however few and far between, were with women he met at bars. He’d found men attractive, but he’d never taken the plunge with a guy until Captain Walker pounced on him. And now he was stuck with the man for the rest of his very long life. His stomach fluttered at the thought, but he frowned all the same. No matter how right it felt with Holden, something held him back from giving in completely. Plus, he still hadn’t met his mate’s pack. Where would he fit in with those other wolves?

“Good morning,” Holden said and blinked his brilliant blue eyes in the bright morning light. He’d spent every night with Jake since they first met, but the lone wolf still had no idea where his mate lived.

“Morning,” Jake said and started to climb out of the bed, but Captain Walker pulled him back in.

“Where do you think you’re going, detective?”

“To pee and make breakfast. I have a whole lot of bacon and sausage to grill.”

“You’re going to have to wait on both of those,” the alpha growled, rolling over the slightly shorter man and nipping at his pale neck.

Jake moaned as the naked heat of Holden’s body aroused his cock from its sleep. He dug his nails into the man’s back, his scratches deep and just short of breaking the skin. The captain flinched, his erection growing at the rough touch.

Sharp teeth nibbled and pulled Jake’s flesh. He knew each bite would leave a mark, but the red-hot desire trailing over his skin and rushing to his groin kept him from caring. He moved his face and caught Holden’s lips with his own, the alpha giving into the deep warmth of the kiss without abandon. He’d never kissed anyone like that before- never felt the world totally disappear as he lost himself in another man.

Reaching down, Holden gathered both their sizable cocks in his large hand. The pre-come dripping from the heads wet them, but Jake grabbed some lube from his nightstand anyway. As he spread the thin slippery substance on his hand, he groaned into the friction his lover created between them- the velvety stroke over their enflamed members combined into one. Holden kissed Jake again as the lone wolf added his slippery touch to the mix, the thickness of both their dicks, veins bulging, sliding under his hands.

The tingling pressure built up in his balls with each thrust, each needy caress. Their bodies seemed to work out a rhythm, their breathy moans and growls a song that filled the morning air. Jake was sure his heart beat in time with Holden’s- the pounding in his chest and cock filling his mind. His mate met his eyes, blue burning into bright green, and held them as both gave into the shuddering impact of the orgasm.

Hot come spurted out and landed on Jake’s thinly haired chest. Damn it! He’d given into his lover’s dominant touch again, and he loved every minute of it.

Holden kissed Jake’s forehead, his chest heaving in the aftermath. “I guess you can make breakfast now.”

Jake shook his head. The alpha wasn’t getting off that easily. “No, I need a shower. You can start breakfast,” he said, rolling out from under the larger man and walking into the bathroom. For a moment he thought Holden would follow him, but the man didn’t. Jake sighed. He needed to take some command of their relationship before he lost himself completely.

When he stepped out of the shower the smell of bacon and sausage wafted from the kitchen. Jake sauntered into the room with a clean pair of jeans hugging his round ass in all the right places and smiled. “You cooked?”

“Yes. Eat up,” Holden said and handed him a plate piled with meat and eggs.

Jake’s mouth watered, his stomach grumbling as though he hadn’t eaten in years. The appetite of a wolf was nearly impossible to satiate. “But you cooked after I told you to. Is that what alpha’s usually do?”

Holden leaned against the counter and nibbled at piece of bacon. His boxers hung low on his slender hips, showing off the muscular lines that led to his groin. “I cooked because it needed to get done not because you told me to do it.”

Jake snorted and took a large bite of eggs. “If you say so, captain.”

The alpha smiled, not giving into the jibe. “I think it’s time, Jake.”

The lone wolf swallowed his food and wiped his mouth on the back of his hand. He knew what Holden meant. He’d been waiting for the captain to mention it for weeks. “Oh? Are you sure you aren’t rushing anything?”

  “No, you need meet them.”

Jake sighed and pushed away his plate of food half eaten. “Can’t I be your mate without joining your pack? I’m still not interested,” he said. It wasn’t a lie- he never wanted to join a pack- even a pack run by his life mate. Why did werewolf rules have to be so damn strict?

“Are you worried?” Captain Walker asked and slipped a sausage into his mouth.

The creeping heat of a blush spread over Jake’s neck and cheeks. “Of what?”

Holden shrugged. “You tell me. You’re the one who’s blushing.”

Jake dug into his food for several minutes without speaking. What role would he play in a pack? That was the biggest issue. Being alone for ten years made the whole group dynamic thing off-putting. He sure as hell wasn’t an omega, but would be just one of many wolves of equal rank? Hell no! “I’ll only join your pack if I’m at equal standing with you. I need to be an alpha too.”

Holden’s lips turned up into a smirk. “My pack already has a male alpha.”

“Well, your male alpha found a mate so you get another male alpha,” Jake said and set his lips into a stubborn pout.

“You’re right. Just because you're a man doesn’t mean we can’t both be alphas. You’ll need to show dominance to the rest of them though.”

Jake tried not to let the surprise show on his face. Wolves had a very specific way of showing dominance with each other- arousingly specific. He cleared his throat. “Really? That’s the only way?”

“Do you have a problem doing that with another man? You’ll still be my mate exclusively.”

“No, I don’t have a problem whatsoever! I can show my dominance over your whole pack. They’re all men? No women?”

“Yes, my pack’s all male at the moment. There are only four of us- well, now there’ll be five.”

Jake nodded and finished his breakfast. Would he have to dominate them all in one sitting? That’d take a whole lot of stamina or a cock ring. Plus, he’d never topped a man before. While he understood the mechanics of it intimately, he didn’t know how well he would perform the act. “Have you dominated them before?”

“I’ve never had a need since they’ve respected my authority from the beginning.”

This just got better and better. “I’m not claiming them as mates, am I?” Jake asked as his mind reeled. Maybe getting to know other wolves over the years would have been helpful. His knowledge of his very own culture seemed woefully underdeveloped.

Holden chuckled. “It only works like that if you aren’t part of the pack ye
t. How long ago did you turn?”

Jake got up and rinsed off his plate. “About ten years, but I’ve steered clear of other wolves since then.”

A large hand ran down Jake’s bare back, the fingers gently caressing his skin. “Come over to the lodge tonight and you can meet them. We’ll go from there,” he said and planted a kiss on the back of Jake’s head.

  “Sure. Tonight. Wait, what lodge?”

Captain Walker chuckled as he wrapped his muscular arms around the lone wolf’s chest. “You’ll see after work, detective.”

  Better and better indeed.

Danny McDonald, Holden’s deputy and fellow pack member road with them up to the lodge that evening. Jake nodded at the young man, trying to be civil since they not only had to work together but also had to share the alpha.

“Why him?” Danny said for the hundredth time in the last few weeks.

Jake stared at the green trees rushed past. They’d left the city limits twenty minutes ago, and Holden didn’t show any signs of slowing down. How far out of town did they live?

“He’s my mate, Danny. You’ll feel it when you meet yours someday. And stop pouting. It makes you look like a five-year-old.”

Jake held back a snort of laughter. Danny’s blondish hair and youthful face gave the impression he was younger than his twenty-two years. Did he know he’d have to submit to Jake if the lone wolf joined their pack? The though sparked something in Jake’s pants, the familiar ache of arousal coursing through his veins. Damn. Maybe his inner alpha wanted to come out and play.

They pulled up to the lodge a few minutes later, the huge wooden home built into the side of the mountain like it was part of the landscape. Jake’s green eyes widened. How the hell did Holden afford a place like that on a police captain’s salary?

“My father built it,” the alpha said as though he could read Jake’s mind. “Come on. Dinner should be waiting.”

Jake climbed out of the SUV and followed the captain inside. Huge windows framed the wooden structure, and the view looking over the little town nestled below. Inside modern décor and bare wooden floors kept everything simple and masculine. The house smelled of them, Holden’s alpha musk mixed in with Danny’s lighter scent. Two more smells mingled with the aroma of cooking. Not unpleasant but certainly lupine.
