Roxy quirked an eyebrow. "What's your favorite position?"

Jackson's grin nearly took in his entire face. "Doggy."

  "Freak," Roxy grumbled.

  Jackson laughed.

They lay there, enjoying each other's company and swapping stories about each other's families, until something Jackson said occurred to Roxy. "Hey, what did you mean that we had all the time in the world to try other things?"

As far as she knew, this was probably a one-time thing. Jackson was probably trying to seduce her with sex so she wouldn't turn him in.

Jackson rubbed her shoulder and gave her a look of extreme happiness. "We're mated...for life."

  Epilogue

"She's still not answering," Cassie complained in frustration. She had been calling Roxy's cell all week with no answer. After she had taken Roxy to pick up her car, Roxy had thanked her and left. That was it. She hadn't heard, seen or talked to her since.

That damn wolf has her in his claws, she thought angrily.

But that probably wasn't true. Cassie just hated it. Hated the fact that Roxy may have been lost to her, forever.

Her eyes will be open to the world, if they aren't already. And she'll be forced to choose sides.

"Maybe she just doesn't want to be bothered," offered Haley.

The fitness trainer, who was wearing a red dress, sat beside her as they sat in Foxy Troxy's lounge enjoying a couple of drinks. It was Roxy's favorite bar and Cassie thought coming here would maybe entice the big girl to come to see what surprise the two had in store for her.

Haley had recently got a promotion at the gym she worked at. But her good news had been tempered by some bad. Her aunt had died. Fortunately for Haley, she left her a large sum of money.

Haley had come to Cassie, saying she had no idea what she could do with all the money and was thinking of ways to spend. Cassie had suggested that she donate some to Roxy to help deal with her huge bills. Haley had agreed with much enthusiasm.

Cassie shook her head. "No, that's definitely not it."

Haley fingered the rim of her strawberry daiquiri and took a sip. Cassie eyed her critically. Haley was usually health conscious, even about the choice of alcoholic beverage. If she was drinking a fruity daiquiri, one that was loaded with tons of carbs and sugar, she must have really worked up a sweat for the day.

Good thing I don't have to work as hard to keep my body, Cassie thought. Being a werecat, she was blessed with a high metabolism and ate like a bird.

"How do you know that's not it?"

  "Because, I just do."

Haley rolled her eyes. "Fine, Miss Cleo, tell me what you know."

Cassie stared at her long and hard before answering. "Roxy has a new man in her life."

Haley sputtered on her daiquiri, her eyes going wide with surprise. "Really? I wouldn't think she would have time with everything that's happened to her." She leaned in eagerly, blasting Cassie's nose with her fruity-sugary breath. "Tell me all the juicy details."

If she could only tell Haley, who was human, the real deal. It still irked Cassie that Roxy was most-likely going to end up a wolf shifter, and even more, that her brother had done nothing to help her put a stop to it.

In fact, her brother was behind a pact being negotiated with the wolves to allow them to share the lands and food with the cats. To Cassie, a treaty was a pure waste of time. She lived by one motto. Never trust a wolf. If the other cats went along with it, they would definitely be sorry.

Roxy just doesn't know what she's getting into.

Regarding the excited Haley with amusement, Cassie brought her glass of cold milk to her lips and purred, "Let's just say that he's got his claws sunk deeply into her...

Hunter took a drag on his cigarette as he sat on his Harley just outside Hunt's Auto Shop. He hadn't heard from his brother in over a week. But he had heard about what happened on the night they'd gone out robbing meat stores.

Jackson had gone against his every order. Hunter knew he had done this on purpose. He was testing him. Hunter knew why too. It was because Jackson one day hoped to become leader. But before that day, he would have to prove that he was stronger.

Some of the club members, mainly Anthony, had called for Jackson to be kicked out of the gang and left to fend for himself. Hunter had refused. Despite how much Jackson pissed him off, he was family. And when you were a part of a pack, you did not turn your back on family.

But that wasn't to say Hunter wasn't going to kick his ass when he saw him.

Hunter looked up when the sound of a loud motor filled the block. One of his pack members working on a car near the gate looked at him and whistled when a bike carrying two helmeted riders sailed through the front gate.

Hunter tensed. He hoped this wasn't trouble. During the past week, he had been visited by a cat, a cop of all people. The kitty cop had said that he wanted peace for his people and that they would lower prices on the meat and allow the wolves access to the cattle lands.

Hunter did not know if he could trust them, and despite the protests from some of his pack, he was considering going along with the truce. He was tired of being hungry.

The brand new Harley carrying the two visitors sputtered to a stop in the middle of the lot. The driver got off, and Hunter relaxed. Though Jackson had a helmet on, Hunter could recognize his brother's physique any day. But he was curious about his passenger.

Dressed in a full black and pink body suit that hugged a curvy figure, the person was obviously a woman. Hunter was surprised to admit that, whoever she was, she filled out the outfit quite nicely. They both began walking towards Hunter.

Hunter took one last drag on his cigarette then threw it on the ground. He got up off his bike and intercepted the two. Behind him, several of the pack members gathered, along with several of the pack women, watching curiously.

Jackson removed his helmet and stared challengingly at his brother. Tenseness ensued.

He's testing me, thought Hunter. He wants me to deck him.

"Hey," Jackson said finally, glaring at his brother.

Hunter crossed his arms and glared back, refusing to look away. "You got some balls coming back here after that stunt you pulled." Curiously, the woman still had not removed her helmet.

Jackson's stern visage suddenly morphed into a grin and he chuckled. "What can I say? My balls are pretty big."

Hunter checked the urge to send his fist into his brother's face. Then he threw back his head and laughed. "Just not bigger than me." He nodded at the big girl, who still had not removed her helmet. "Who is this?"

In response, the woman finally removed her helmet and shook out her long hair. Despite the fact that she had extra weight on her bones, Hunter was smitten. She was attractive.

She smiled at him and offered her hand. "Hi, my name is Roxy. I have heard a lot about you from your brother."

Hunter shook her hand, noticing how soft her flesh was. "None of it good I'm sure."

The girl giggled. She had a cute laugh. "There was some good."

  "I hope so."

Jackson looked at his brother and Hunter knew instantly that he wanted something. It must have been very important too if he came to risk his wrath.

"Roxy and I came here to pay our respect and hoped that we would be welcomed among the pack."

So that's why he was here. Jackson wanted Hunter to welcome his new mate into the club. He should tell him no. After all, Jackson was an upstart. He would continue to test him until it led to a confrontation. But until that day, they would remain brothers.

Hunter turned to Roxy and smiled. "Welcome to the Silver Wolves, Roxy."
