Sue flashed her an engaging grin as she winked. “Who knows, kiddo, but I’m sure I’ll think of something!”
Epilogue
A soft chime sounded throughout the hall. Daniel stood up quickly, taking one final glance through the well worn folder he carried.
The palatial doors swung open, and an older man, clad in a long, butterscotch colored robe, appeared. “Daniel?”
“Yes, sir?”
“Gerrbria will see you now.”
“Thank you.” Taking a deep breath, Daniel entered the Great Hall.
Daniel hurried across the floor of glowing pearl, moving swiftly toward Gerrbria, who rose to meet him.
“Daniel, so good to see you. I understand our plan worked perfectly.”
“Perfectly, sir, but then I’m not surprised. You’re the best!”
“Fratmore?”
“No, thank you,” Daniel refused. “I’m attending a wedding in a moment.”
“Ah, yes. That would be Ashley and Joel’s.”
Daniel smiled. “That it is, sir.”
After walking back to his desk, Gerrbria settled his considerable girth into his chair. “Then all is well with our Miss Wheeler?”
“I have never seen her happier.”
“Then our choice was a wise one.”
“Yes, sir.”
Grinning, the two men rose, exchanged an energetic series of high fives, then Daniel left and Gerrbria returned to work.
After all, Ashley Wheeler wasn’t the only woman in the world looking for a good man.
