LUCKED (Love and Liquor Book 2) Page 7

by Angel Devlin

  “What are you doing here?”

By now some were still singing and others were watching us intently.

“I wondered if you’d like a girlfriend? Only, I thought I might stay. I can find work here and somewhere to live. If that’s okay with you?”

Cillian clutched at my upper arms and stared into my eyes. “Okay with me? That’s the best news I’ve ever had in my life, and you’re staying with me in my apartment. I’m never being separated from you again.”

We kissed again and as the surrounding crowd stopped singing to let out an almighty cheer accompanied by a round of applause, I knew I’d come home.

  To Dublin’s fair city.

  To Cillian.

  Two years later

  Anna

“Oh, she looks the spit of you as a baby, Anna. The very same.” My mum cooed at our daughter, who was just a few days old.

I smiled at my mum. Aisling had said something almost identical when she’d seen her, but that she was the spit of Cillian.

I didn’t care who she looked like. She was just perfect.

  The door banged.

“Where is my favourite lady?” Cillian shouted, holding the hugest pink teddy you’ve ever seen. It was a good job we now lived in a 3-bedroomed house near Aisling and Darragh.

“I’m here.” I said then laughed as I’d been rightly relegated to second place the moment Cillian laid eyes on our baby.

He swept her from my mum’s arms.

  “How’s my Molly been today?”

“She’s been perfect, Daddy.” I said.

Moving to Dublin had proved the best decision ever. Cillian and I had wed in a civil ceremony four months after I moved there, and I was expecting our baby just shy of a year later. We were both studying photography and planned to set up our own business. In the meantime Cillian had been working for a car sales company, using his Irish charm to earn a huge commission every month, and up to being seven months pregnant, I’d worked behind the bar in a quiet Irish pub with an amazing atmosphere.

It was strange. My first visit to Dublin had seemed a disaster, but it had turned out to be the start of a new, fantastic life. Because I’d met Cillian, who’d brought me nothing but good fortune. He was my soulmate, my baby daddy, my life.

  My Luck Maker.
