Magni

  “Magni I’ve always wanted you.”

She felt his relief as Magni’s mouth came down onto hers. Christine pushed off the bed with her feet, lifting her hips and sinking her body onto his. Magni growled into her mouth as he thrust forward, burying his hard length inside her, pulling out before immediately filling her again.

His hand dropped hers and slid under her body to grip her bottom, pulling it off the bed so he could plunge deeper. Christine clawed at his back, fighting to force him impossibly closer, holding on as his hips battered her with a frenzy that nearly matched her own. She met him thrust for thrust chasing the release building inside her.

Magni’s body jerked and his cock swelled. He bent to suck one nipple deep into his mouth, groaning as he dumped into her. His climax pushed hers over the edge, clenching around his pulsing shaft as she called his name, holding onto the only man she’d ever really wanted.

Christine collapsed back to the bed, arms weak, ears ringing.

Maybe she should have told him she wanted him twenty years ago.

Magni watched Christine’s chest rise and fall with each slow breath. The room was quiet except for the sound of birds chirping in the trees outside the window as the sun began to lighten the sky. It was still well over an hour until it would break the horizon sending its rays cutting between the slats of the wood blinds. That meant he had at least another hour to look at her.

  And worry.

Christine stirred beside him, stretching her legs under the covers before turning to her side, curling her body against his, resting her forehead against his chest. “Why are you awake?” Her voice was sleepy and soft as she laced one leg over his.

“How do you know I’m awake?”

Her hand brushed up the center of his chest. “I could just tell.” She looked down between their bodies. “Well, and that.”

Magni tucked one hand against the back of her head and pressed a kiss to her crown. “Ignore him and go back to sleep.”

Her hand trailed down his stomach to wrap around his wide awake dick. Christine stroked the length in slow sweeps of her fist, pulling a low appreciative growl from the beast.

“You’re not a very good listener.” He closed his eyes and gritted his teeth, working hard to not thrust into her hand.

“What are you going to do about it?” She tightened her grip, swiping her thumb over the head, spreading the bead of moisture collected there across the sensitive tip before stroking back down.

Magni groaned into her hair. “I have half a mind to swat your ass.”

“That sounds like an empty threat.” She wiggled closer using the leg over his hip as leverage to pull his body against hers.

He spread one palm over bottom as her hand pulled from the shrinking amount of space between them, leaving his dick free to use as he pleased. And what he pleased was to be inside her again.

But first it was time to give Christine what she wanted but for some reason didn’t want to come right out and ask for. It was time to make it very clear he would give her anything and everything she desired.

Magni gave the cheek of her ass in his hand a firm squeeze as he pushed his hips forward to drag his cock along her slit. He pulled back. This time as he pushed forward Magni brought his hand down in a firm slap against her skin.

Christine sucked in a breath as her head snapped back in surprise. Her lips were parted and her pupils dilated as he pulled back again, this time bringing his palm down harder on her backside.

“Oh God.” Christine’s eyes rolled closed. Her tongue slipped between her lips and slid across the fullness of her bottom lip before tugging it between her teeth.

He spanked her again then rubbed his hand over the pinked flesh as she wiggled against him. He leaned down in her ear as he soothed the spot. “Sweetheart, if you liked to be spanked you should have told me.” He slapped the spot again drawing a moan from deep in her throat. “I’m here to please.”

Christine gripped his hips. “Then maybe you should fuck me.”

There was something about this sweet, soft woman saying words like that, that made his blood heat.

Magni meant it when he told her she was everything. Christine was a complex collection of all the best things a woman could have. Calm but feisty, strong but gentle, giving and demanding at the same time. And sexy as hell.

  And now she was his.

Magni slipped from beside her, smiling as she grabbed for him. He rolled her face down onto the bed as he climbed over her, grabbing her hips and lifting them off the mattress. He leaned down and ran his tongue over the mottled pink skin of her bottom before kneeling behind her. She rocked back against him arching her back as she did.

“Magni.” Christine reached back to find his dick, stroking it in her fist before guiding it along her core, letting it slide into place, barely breeching her tight entrance. “I want you.”

They were three words that had the ability to undo him. Steal the control Magni worked so hard to maintain when he was with her. To be wanted by her after everything that happened between them was something he never imagined could happen.

  Yet here they were.

He pressed into her, her body swallowing his as he watched. The sight of his cock deep inside her was almost enough to push him over the edge. Magni squeezed his eyes shut and pulled back, sucking in a tortured breath as Christine clenched the walls of her vagina around him. His fingers dug into her hips as he tried to reign his climax back in. “Sweetheart you can’t do that.”

Slow and steady he pushed back in, watching his dick disappear into her once again before pulling back out. As her muscles clenched around him he dropped a hard smack on the untouched side of her bottom, leaving a matching pink print on her skin.

Christine pushed back against him. “Again.”

His vision closed in as his hips bounced off the perfect fullness of her ass, spearing her pussy with his throbbing dick as his hands swatted her soft flesh. He gripped her hips and pulled her body into his thrusts, burying himself in her soaking wet channel over and over until he was hanging by a thread, shaking with the need to release. He brought his hand down one last time before his dick jerked inside her.

“Magni.” She pushed back into him as they came together, her body clenching onto his, milking him as he poured into her. He fell forward, catching his weight on his elbows, his front to her back.

Her face was turned toward his, pressed into the pillows, her lips smashed into a duck lipped pucker from the added padding under her cheek. “That was perfect.”

He rubbed one hand over her flushed bottom. “I told you I was here to please.” The skin was hot under his touch. He leaned up to look at the reddened skin.

Christine tipped her head up and turned to look at the angry color of her behind. She looked at him. “Don’t worry, it always gets like that.”

The beast inside reared up and lashed out. Magni grabbed Christine and flipped her over, yanking her arms beside her head and pinning her in place with his weight. “You are mine now Christine.”

She narrowed her eyes at him. “So it’s okay for me to look your past in the face but you can’t even handle the mention of mine?”

His beast paced, growling at the idea of another man laying his hands on what was his. Magni stared down at the defiant tip of her chin, the flicker of opposition I her eyes. Christine would always challenge him. Push his limits as a man.

  And he liked it.

Magni curled his fingers between hers, locking their hands together. He took a deep breath, letting his pulse slow down and the need to make her tell him who she belonged to recede. She was his, and soon enough she would have to admit it, but not now. He leaned down and covered her mouth with his, letting his tongue slide across her lips. “You need to realize I’m not like most men Christine.”

She raised an eyebrow at him. “You don’t say.” She shook her head. “But I’m not going to tiptoe around because you can’t handle that I’m a grown woman who
’s not a prude.”

“I’m not sure I handled it any worse than you did sweetheart.” He pressed her hands into the bed. “To be fair, you slapped my past in the face and called her a word most women pretend they don’t know.”

Christine cocked her head at him. “All women know that word. We just reserve it for deserving situations.”

He lifted one eyebrow at her.

She huffed out a breath. “If there was ever a deserving situation it was that one so don’t expect me to apologize for it.” She pushed against him. “Let me up. I have to go to the bathroom.”

He rolled off her and watched as Christine disappeared into the bathroom. Magni rubbed one hand down his face as he climbed off the bed. That woman. He grinned as he pulled on his jeans and wandered to the kitchen. Christine was hell on wheels and no one seemed to know it but him. His little secret.

  Or just his.

The coffee pot was a single cup job sitting on top of a little drawer stand. He pulled it open and found rows of coffee brewing cups in neat little lines. Magni grabbed the one with the fewest left and dropped it in, pushing the button to start a cup for Christine.

The shower kicked on and he was just finding his way to the bathroom door when the sound of muffled voices outside caught his attention. The outline of two people was silhouetted against the pull-down shade on the door. Two people he would know anywhere. Magni opened the door, not even trying to stifle a grin at the chaos his presence was about to cause.

  “Morning ladies.”

“Oh shit.” Rhea’s eyes went wide as he propped one arm against the door jam. She rolled her eyes to look at her mother-in-law.

A flush of anger worked its way up Gail’s cheeks. “What in the hell are you doing here?”

He tipped his head to one side enjoying the chance to rile his meddling sister-in-law up. “If you don’t know then I’m not going to tell you.”

Gail poked him in the chest. “I told you to stay away from her.”

Magni crossed his arms. “When have I ever listened to a word you said?”

“Not when I told you not to marry that bitch that’s for sure.” Gail shoved past him. “Where’s Christine?” Gail’s hand went to her chest. “She doesn’t know Lori’s back does she?”

Magni tipped his head to Rhea for her to come inside, closing the door behind her. “She probably knew before you did.” His chest puffed up with pride. “Slapped the shit out of her.”

A smile tugged at Gail’s lips, barely curling them up before she pressed them into a thin straight line. “She doesn’t need any more on her plate Magni.” Her eyes slid to Rhea then back to him. “Christine has a lot going on.”

Magni glanced to the bathroom door. The shower was still running. He stepped closer to Gail. “You think I don’t know what’s going on?” He leaned down. “Do you think I would do something like this on a whim? For fun? A way to pass fucking time?” He shook his head at her. “Christine is mine Gail and if you try to change that—”

Gail squinted her eyes at him and his thinly veiled threat. “You’ll do what?”

  He straightened. “No more beds.”

  Her eyes widened.

“No more furniture of any kind. Not for the B&B. Not for the gallery. Nothing.” He smirked as her hands clenched at her sides. Gail was many things. Nosy. Opinionated. Bossy. But she was also practical, and Magni’s talents made the town quite a bit of money and saved them even more.

She blew a long breath out her nose as she glared at him. “I will kill you if you hurt her.” She stepped up, chest to chest with him. “But not until I strip off all your skin with a vegetable peeler and feed it to you.”

  Magni nodded. “Fair enough.”

Her head bobbed back in surprise.

  “I’m not kidding Gail.”

Rhea tapped her mother-in-law on the shoulder. “He’s not kidding.” She glanced at him. “I know you told me not to use my stuff on you but I figured this situation didn’t count. I’ll stop now.”

Magni gave Rhea a little nod. “Appreciate it.”

Gail turned to Rhea then back at him, looking him up and down with disapproving eyes. “I still don’t like it.”

That was probably the best he would ever get from Gail. “I can live with that.”

Christine’s gasp drew all their attention to the bathroom door. Her hand clutched a towel to her chest as her blue-green eyes bobbed between them. “Uhh.”

“Hey honey.” Gail shot Magni the stink eye as she walked past him, open-armed, to hug Christine. “We came to check on you see how you were holding up.” She leaned back. “Have you heard anything yet?”

Christine twisted the towel in her hand as the one wrapped around her head started to slide to one side. “No. Not yet.” She reached up to try to stop it from toppling off as the turban loosened and collapsed. “I should know soon though.”

Magni stepped beside her, grabbing the towel on her head with one hand and easing her toward the bedroom with the other. “Why don’t you go get dressed?”

Once Christine was in her room he pulled the door shut and turned to face Gail. “You’ve got to let her breathe Gail.”

His sister-in-law’s nostrils flared. “So now you think you know what’s best for her?”

  Magni nodded. “I do.”

Gail snorted. “I wouldn’t get too attached. She’s just blinded by all,” she waved at his bare chest, “that.”

If Gail came here to piss on his parade she was accomplishing it in record time. “Is that all you think I have to offer her?”

Gail looked around. “Well it looks like her house is fully furnished so all I can imagine she needs you to fill is her basement if you know what I mean.”

“Out.” Magni pointed to the door.

Gail planted her feet and crossed her arms, giving him a smirk. “This isn’t your house.”

“Won’t be hers soon either.” He yanked open the door. “Out.”

Gail stared Magni down as she passed him. “This isn’t over.”

He stared over her head as she walked past him. “It never is with you Gail.”

His gaze dropped to Rhea as she walked past him. “Sorry.”

She patted his chest. “Me too.”

  “About?”

Rhea looked up at him. “I lied.” She gave him a wink. “I didn’t stop when I said I would.” She looked back into the house. “Take care of her.”

  “I intend to.”

She smiled. “I know you do.”

Christine flopped down on the couch in her quiet house.

  Her temporarily quiet house.

Magni left an hour ago and made it clear he was coming back as soon as he was done meeting with Craig and Joel about Lori’s arrival in Greenlea. Apparently she had yet to go see her son.

It was a toss-up as to which one burned her ass more, that Lori didn’t see Joel, or that she did see Magni. Both made Christine glad she’d given that sorry excuse for a woman at least a little bit of what she deserved right across the face.

Christine eased back into the couch and closed her eyes. Maybe a nap would be nice. But she hadn’t had the chance to tell Gail and Rhea goodbye before they left this morning and she felt guilty.

With a heavy sigh she pushed off the warm comfort of her couch and grabbed her purse and her keys off the table by the door. Christine paused and ran her finger across the narrow top. This really would be the perfect spot for that table she’d been eyeing in the gallery.

  Christine’s hand froze.

Last night she hadn’t seen anything when she touched Magni. Not a glimpse of his past, not a hint of his future, even after the wall around her collapsed leaving her abilities unguarded.

It was a situation she’d never encountered before. Before last night sex was always with a man who was perfectly pleasant. Usually quite handsome. Frequently an excellent lover. But...

Never before had she lost the ability to control the psychic wall tightly locked
around her for protection. To keep their lives out and her sanity in. Without it she would absorb the entirety of their pasts and futures in the blink of an eye, like a movie played at hyper speed.

That’s what should have happened last night. But it didn’t. Last night all she felt was what was between them. What Magni felt for her. What she felt for him. Nothing else from his life. Not even a glimpse.

Christine swallowed hard at the hazed memory of the night she saw the blurred woman in Magni’s future. A woman she couldn’t quite identify. The woman who turned out to be Lori.

She should have been able to see it was Lori. Her visions were always clear in her mind’s eye, maybe not easily unraveled, but the picture always had the same clarity as the world around her. Something changed and there was only one reason it could have happened. There was only one life she couldn’t directly see.

  Hers.

It was time to go to the gallery.

Christine yanked the door open then locked it behind her before rushing downtown. Rhea was in the gallery with Annabelle sitting happily in her swing beside the tall mahogany desk against the back wall. Her friend’s face brightened when she saw her. “Hey.”

Christine hesitated, eyeing the beautiful furniture around the shop. Furniture she couldn’t touch for years without violating the promise she made to its maker. She turned her attention back to Rhea and took a deep breath trying to calm the nerves making her blood rush through her veins. “I was surprised you guys were gone when I came back out this morning.”

Rhea rolled her eyes and huffed out. “Those two.” She shook her head. “For two people who clearly love each other they fight like cats and dogs.”

“On a good day.” Christine eased toward the spot where the table she’d been lusting over sat, working up the nerve to touch it and see if she was right about what was happening. Had happened. “I’ve seen Gail throw an entire pitcher of tea on him before.”

“You’re kidding.” Rhea snorted. “They’re two peas in a pod I think. Too much alike to get along.”
