He did the same, although he didn’t find it as easy to do. If she was up at the school for instance she always shielded her mind, allowing conversation only. He therefore had to wait until she either allowed him access or returned home in which case she allowed her shield to relax.
‘Natalya, I didn’t think we’d be seeing you today,’ Terry said seeing her in the doorway supported by a tall man.
‘I was bored lying in bed. Can Freddie join us today?’
‘By all means. I understand you’ve already joined the odd class to help out,’ he added, turning to the hunter.
‘Yes and thank you. She shouldn’t really be out of bed but Jason told her of yesterday’s class and she couldn’t resist the lure of your lessons,’ Freddie told him. Terry laughed in delight and waved them inside to take seats.
Natalya sighed happily glancing around her and nodding to her classmates. Her life was no longer shadowed by Nathaniel’s threatening presence in the world. She had found a home, friends, her sister and most importantly a wonderful man to share her life with. She took Freddie’s hand and he returned her smile. They were starting a family of their own and she knew he too was deeply content at the prospect. She could finally leave her past in the past and look forward to the future. She had promised to help her sister plan her wedding after all and what better reminder of the future was that?
