No, he wanted that fucking fantastic moment to be between them and only them.
God, her mouth was incredible.
She was sucking him down with mind-blowing force, her devious tongue sliding all over the place. It didn’t take him long to start thrusting up into her, seeking more of her warm heat, craving more of her moans. Her mouth was just that good.
He worried that he was being too rough with his hand on her head. But when he started to remove it, she snatched it up and slapped it right back down where it had been.
Hottest. Woman. Ever.
He felt his need climbing to the surface and knew he was getting close. He felt the car slowing down as he let off the gas—losing himself to the sensations coursing through him—but he didn’t care. He was close to begging her for mercy.
“I’m so close. Don’t stop, please.”
He needed to come—desperately—but he somehow sensed that she needed it, as well. Maybe it was her way of saying thank you for his help, a way of paying him back. Maybe she was just super horny. Whatever the reason, his desire to give it to her, to satisfy her, was far stronger than his need to come down her throat.
Though he was more than willing to do that.
“I’m about to come,” he told her, warning her, giving her the chance to pull away.
She didn’t.
With a vicious roar and one last upward drive of his hips, he emptied himself inside her mouth. “Fucking take it all!” He felt her throat work as she swallowed his release, prolonging his pleasure. “Every last drop.”
After draining him, she licked him clean and tucked him back into his underwear. As calmly as you please, she sat back up in her seat and straightened her hair. He wanted to demand how she could be so relaxed when he was revving up his engines for another go-around. Then, he saw the sly grin curving her lips.
She finally turned to face him. Her cheeks were flushed, and there was a distinct glint in her eyes. “Deep breath, Mr. Price. We’re not done yet.”
God bless this woman.
“We most certainly are not, Ms. Paxton,” he growled as he parked in the lot of his building. “A performance like that deserves hours of attention to show my gratitude.”
She licked her red lips, breathing heavier. “Don’t let me stop you.”
They stumbled through his front door, stripping off their clothing in record time and falling onto his bed in a frenzy of tangled limbs and bare skin.
But the moment he entered her, everything felt different than before. Good different, but more intense. Like everything between them had suddenly shifted into something…more. He had no other word for it. It was as if what they’d had before was just the ingredients, but now they had the whole enchilada.
They never broke eye contact as they brought each other to the peak of desire. It was like an invisible tether was forcing them to acknowledge all the changes they felt occurring around them.
He knew it was the moment of no going back.
This was no longer a casual hookup they could easily walk away from.
Perhaps it never had been.
When he came back to earth he pulled out of her, though he wasn’t ready to sever that connection. Instead, he wrapped himself around her and held on tight. He wasn’t sure what she was thinking, but he was afraid if he let go, he might lose her forever.
As he was drifting off, losing consciousness, he squeezed her to him and whispered in her ear, “Stay with me.”
He wasn’t sure whether he meant just for that night…or for always.
The same thing was true when she responded, “Baby, I’m not going anywhere.”
Chapter Eighteen
The next morning, Zane was awakened in the best way he could ever imagine. He opened his eyes to see Bea crawling up his body, gloriously naked. He immediately zoned in on her bare chest where her erect nipples were straining toward his mouth.
His dick was quick to respond.
“Well, good morning to me,” he murmured, still groggy from sleep.
The sensual caress of her laughter vibrating against his chest was enough to make him want to stay in bed with her all day just so he could hear it over and over again.
“I figured since we ended yesterday with a good night, we should start today with a good morning,” she said as she licked her way up his neck.
His eyes rolled to the back of his head. Her mouth was hot and wicked and knew just how to work him. “I like where your head’s at,” he told her.
“Now let’s worry about where yours is at.”
He opened his eyes to find her face hovering over his. He brushed some of her hair back to get a better look, and wasn’t surprised to find the same gorgeous woman, even with sleep-mussed hair and no makeup.
“I’m right here, luv. I’m always with you.”
She gave him a warm smile and moved her legs to straddle him, bringing her center to rest right over his thick erection. “Not that head.” Her fingers wrapped around him, pulling him closer to her smooth entrance, which was already wet with arousal. “This one.”
Without further preamble, she sat down on his lap, taking him easily into her. His hips jutted up at the unexpected sensation of her heat surrounding him.
“Holy shit,” he hissed. He reached for her waist to help guide her movements as she started to move over him. “Christ, Bea. Yeah, ride me just like that.”
The woman was a goddess.
The epitome of a temptress, completely irresistible.
Watching her breasts bounce as she fucked him made him even harder. He had to have his hands on them. As soon as he did, her hands captured his, inviting—no, demanding—more of his attention.
“Yes. Touch me, Zane.”
He groaned. “I don’t think I can ever stop touching you. You’ve got the best tits I’ve ever seen in my life. Give them to me.” She fell forward, adjusting herself to keep him inside her as he leaned toward her. “That’s right, luv. Put them in my mouth.”
There was no better sight in the world than her cupping her breast, offering up her nipple to his mouth. He clamped down with his lips, sucking her until she was writhing for him. Then he switched to the other. Her hips continued to slam down, her whimpers ringing in his ears as she took him as deep as he could reach.
“Like that, do you?” he whispered.
“Yes,” she said on a slow exhale, her head tipped back in ecstasy. Her long hair fell around her shoulders, and he so badly wanted to take a picture, to forever capture the breathtaking vision she made.
“Move faster for me.” He could feel his body getting close to release, and he wanted her with him.
She followed his direction and increased her pace, her moans becoming louder as the friction between them intensified. “Oh my God. I’m almost there.”
“Yes, come with me.” His fingers sought out her clit and rubbed circles around it, eliciting a sharp gasp from her. “I want to feel your pussy squeeze me. I want to feel how hard I can make your body come for me. Give me everything, luv. Let go.”
With another gasp, she began to pulse around him as her climax slammed through her. When she started gripping him like that and her juices drenched his cock, he couldn’t hold back any longer. He held onto her hips as his entire body surged upward, thrusting deeper inside her to draw out his pleasure.
He didn’t realize until after she released him that she had dug her fingernails into his chest, leaving marks. Not that he cared. He wanted her to leave her mark on him so he could have evidence of how good he made her feel, when he didn’t have her in bed with him.
He also realized something else.
Shit. Shit, shit, shit.
They hadn’t used a condom.
He’d been so lost in the dreamlike vision she made, he hadn’t even noticed.
She seemed to sense his concern and rubbed his chest comfortingly. “I’m on the pill. We’re okay.”
He fell back in relief. Now that he knew, he never wanted to use a condom with h
er again.
They spent a few more minutes lying in bed in peaceful silence before they unlatched themselves from each other and began to get dressed. If they didn’t both have to go to work, he would have dragged her back to bed in a heartbeat.
“We have plans tonight, by the way, so don’t schedule anything,” he told her as he buttoned up his shirt.
She glanced up at him in question. “We do?”
He nodded. “With Paul and Holly.”
Her brow knitted in confusion. “Who are Paul and Holly?”
He rolled his eyes and tossed a small wrapped package to her, complete with red bow. She was beaming as she opened it, her giddy expression practically stopping his heart. When she saw what it was, she bounced up and down on her bare feet.
“We’re going to have a Breakfast at Tiffany’s night?”
“Don’t ever say I’m not generous.”
Out of nowhere, she launched herself at him, wrapping her arms around his waist from behind, hugging him tight.
He chuckled. “I’ll have to watch romances with you more often if this is the kind of reaction I can expect.”
“You remembered it was my favorite.” The serious tone of her voice took him a little off-guard, his heart splintering at the vulnerability he heard.
“Of course I did, sweetheart.”
She released him seconds later, but it took him a good while to shake off that hug. She’d been genuinely touched by his gesture. “Want to grab something to eat real quick?” he asked.
She finished zipping up her dress and answered, “Sorry, I can’t. I need to get to the office. Felicity and I are transitioning the showroom to our autumn sets today, so it’s going to be a long day. I can’t believe it’s already almost fall.” She looked over her shoulder at him and winked. “I’ll just grab something at the coffee shop down the street from the office.”
Disappointment gripped him and he felt stupid for it. The woman could dictate his emotions so easily, and he wasn’t sure how he felt about that. Pull yourself together. “You’re still coming to the store tomorrow to work on display placement, right?”
She laughed and walked over to kiss him on the cheek. “I’m not even gone yet and you’re already missing me?”
Lately, he felt like he was always missing her. Every minute of every day he wasn’t with her. Which was a frightening realization, considering the fact that their tryst—or whatever the hell this was—was on a countdown. His return to London was fast approaching. The closer the date came, the more he began to panic about his future with Bea, and whether or not he had one.
But no way could he tell her any of that. It would just scare her off that much quicker.
“I’m only making sure my employee stays on schedule.” He smacked her arse to emphasize his point.
She huffed and slapped his arm. “Coworker. We’re working together.”
“Yeah, but it’s much more fun to think of me being your boss. So many appealing images come to mind at the thought of you working under me.”
She rolled her eyes as she grabbed her purse. “Uh-huh. Try to act out any of those images tomorrow in front of everyone and see what happens.”
He shot out an arm to pull her back against him. He buried his face in her neck, inhaling the sweet scent of her before she left him for the day. “You know you love the idea of me taking you over my desk,” he whispered. “As a matter of fact, we might have to try that soon. I’ve been thinking about it ever since that first meeting in the conference room.”
“You mean when you were coming onto me while you were hiring me?”
He hummed in satisfaction at the memory. “Don’t tell me you weren’t turned on. I saw it on your face. I know I made you wet.”
Her silence was all the answer he needed.
When he began to harden against her—he couldn’t help it—she pushed him away, shaking her head. “Come on, Casanova. We’re both going to be late if you don’t put that thing away.”
“And it would be worth every second.”
After he dropped her off at her car, he had time to think about their situation. Here were the facts: 1) He and Bea were officially dating, whether she wanted to admit it or not. 2) He hated being away from her and found himself missing her throughout the entire bloody day. 3) Her contract with Envision would be up in a few short weeks when the store opened, thus terminating their working relationship. 4) He would be back in England within a month’s time, thus terminating their personal relationship.
Or would it?
Just because he had to go back didn’t mean their time together had to be over, did it? They could figure something out.
Because never seeing her again wouldn’t do.
But Jesus, talk about a long-distance relationship.
Still he couldn’t just give her a kiss good-bye and pretend that none of this ever happened.
He wasn’t positive she would, but he could imagine her giving him the ol’ heave-ho as soon as the store opened. If nothing else, as a means of self-preservation. She’d been very clear that she didn’t do relationships, so it was possible she could use the contract termination as an excuse to end their affair before they had to go through the messy situation of saying farewell to each other for good on a personal level.
He had to find a way to keep her around longer.
Whether that meant here in the States or in London.
To give her time to become comfortable with the idea of them being an official couple. Maybe get her to realize that she didn’t want to be apart from him, either. Possibly even coax her into admitting she had feelings for him. Real ones.
An idea suddenly came to him.
He didn’t give himself a lot of time to think about it. He would hate himself forever if he lost her without making any effort to keep her.
So he picked up the phone and dialed Peter in England.
“Hey, mate. I have a proposition for you.”
Chapter Nineteen
It was only two days until the Envision store launch, and no one was more surprised than Bea at the events of the last month. She was still seeing Zane. As in, seeing seeing.
The same man for over a month.
It was unprecedented.
Her cell phone pinged, signaling a text.
Zane: So it turns out I’ve never played laser tag.
It came in as she was in the office, reading an email from one of their clients. Her heart did a little flutter, and she dictated a response and hit send.
Bea: Doesn’t surprise me. You Brits are so dull.
Just as she expected, his response was immediate.
Zane: Um. Pretty sure making you come 3X last night doesn’t qualify as dull.
Her cheeks heated as she recalled the previous night. He wasn’t lying. It had been three times. She hadn’t been able to move her arms or legs by the time he’d run out of energy.
Bea: Ego, much?
Zane: What I was implying, smart-arse, was we should play laser tag sometime. Since I’ve never been.
Bea: Hate to break it to you, but the only time anyone ever plays laser tag in this country is if they’re a 13yo kid at a birthday party.
Zane: Pretend it’s my birthday and indulge me. I’ve been a good boy this year, so my gift better be good.
Hell, yeah. She bit down on her lip as she recalled just how good he had been.
Bea: If you’re really good, maybe I’ll let you unwrap your gift a little early.
He responded in less than five seconds.
Zane: I’m free for lunch.
She laughed and shook her head.
Bea: I was thinking more along the lines of a post-launch celebration. It’s girls’ night tonight, remember?
Zane: What am I supposed to do with the stiffy I have now?
Bea: Your own fault. Maybe you could pretend your hand is mine while you picture me in the black teddy.
Her core clenched at the memory of her modeling the black teddy she’d recently purchased for his en
joyment. It was amazing the garment was still in one piece, considering the way he had fucked her that night with it still on. She didn’t know if he’d wanted to see her in it as he pounded into her, or if he’d just been too impatient to remove it. Whatever the reason, he had simply shoved the material aside and driven into her.
Dammit. Now she was turned on.
Zane: You’re killing me, woman. Fine. You, me, the black teddy. 2 nights from now, after the launch. Don’t touch yourself until then.
Bea: Ditto.
Zane: I won’t be able to concentrate on work until I rub out this current problem. After that, I promise. No more beating the bishop until I see you.
Bea: Such a way with words, Mr. Price.
Zane: You love my words, Ms. Paxton. Now get back to work.
She set her phone aside and tried to focus back on work. But her mind kept drifting.
Over a month they had been doing…whatever it was they were doing. She still didn’t know quite what it was, but they both seemed happy with the status quo, so she didn’t want to question it. She was sleeping over at his place more often than not. They had eaten dinner together she didn’t know how many times, whether it was at a nice restaurant or at his place on the couch surrounded by take-out containers. They had even been working out together. And considering how much they had been around each other at work getting ready for the store launch, it seemed like they spent every hour of the day together.
The surreal part?
It didn’t bother her. Not one bit.
It hadn’t exactly happened on purpose. They had just gotten comfortable with each other, established a routine before they even realized what was happening. They hadn’t had that awkward “what’s our label” conversation yet, and frankly, she didn’t want to have it. Ever. Things always got sticky after that discussion. Expectations were set, rules were made, promises given. Everything she wanted to avoid.
Right now, they were free to just be themselves, without any pressure.
That’s how she wanted it to stay.
Unfortunately, it wasn’t going to.
