  "You gonna rush off again?" she says, pulling her shirt over her head to reveal, once again, those two sad little flaps of skin she calls breasts.

  I shake my head. "I've got all night," I say.

  "All night'll cost you," she replies.

  "How long have I paid for?" I ask.

  "An hour," she says. "But I can stretch to two if necessary".

  We go and sit on the bed. I touch her right breast with my left hand. My phone rings, but I ignore it. "What's your name?" I ask.

  "Doesn't matter," she says. "What's yours?"

  "John," I say.

  "Hi John," she says.

  I look her in the eyes. "Guess what?" I say. "I have incurable..." I pause. This is ridiculous. "I'm an incurable romantic," I say. "But I guess tonight I can make an exception. And maybe every Friday night for the next four or five years".
