Carter turned to him gave him a questioning look and said derisively, “Sean have you ever thought of going into the real estate business?”

“I will need to speak with the Russian Premier about Yurchenko; however I feel he will ride with us on this. Have you tracked the two CIA operatives down Chuck?”
“That’s next on my list sir.”
Okay Chuck, as soon as I have spoken with the Russian president I will get back to you with confirmation, will you be at Langley?”
“Yes sir, but if I am not there you can contact me on the safe house number.”
He gave the President the number and said, “speak to you later sir.”

Roy, Tracy and the 2 OSC team members had arrived at the hotel thirty-minutes ago and had sat in the vehicle watching it and the movements of the people coming and going from it, however there was no sign of Sun-Yung.
Roy had just contacted Max on his Codetta with an update.
Once he had finished Tracy said, “Roy one of us really needs to go into the hotel and check it from inside!”
Roy replied, “Let me guess, that someone should be you Tracy!”
“I accept Roy,” replied Tracy.
Roy gave her a smile and said, “I fell into that one, hook line and sinker.”
The two-team members in the backseats gave out a laugh at Roy’s expense, Roy turned to them and gave them a smile and said, “See how cunning the female of the species are men!”
Tracy interrupted and said, “Now; now boys it is well known men are the weaker of the two sexes!”
Roy gave her a sincere look and said, “You had better go now whilst you are winning Tracy.”
Tracy exited the vehicle and negotiated her way across the street to the hotel between the sparse traffic.
As Tracy approached the Hotel, she noted that it was a typical small style hotel and as she opened the door, she entered the medium size reception area with a female receptionist.
The receptionist was talking on the phone and gave Tracy a cursorily look noticed the woman was not carrying any luggage and then resumed her phone conversation.
Tracy walked nearer to the reception desk passing the lift noticing the hotel had three floors.
The receptionist finished her phone call and said to Tracy, “ma’am can I help you?”
Tracy moved closer to the desk gave the woman a smile and said, “I hope so; I am trying to locate a friend of mine to tell her that her father has been taken seriously ill, her family advised me she had been down here on business and using one of the hotels around here. I have tried several others in the immediate area but with no luck.”
The receptionist said, “What’s here name and I will see if she is registered here?”
Tracy replied, “Miss Sun-Yung.”
The receptionist immediately replied, “Yes she has been staying here, but you just missed her by about forty-five minutes and she has checked out.”
Tracy replied, “Oh! Did she leave a forwarding address?”
“I am sorry ma’am she did not; she left with two men who had arrived to collect her.”
Tracy thought for a moment and said, “thank you for your time.”
The receptionist said, “I hope you find her ma’am, have a nice day?”
Tracy turned away, exited the hotel, and made her way across the street to the vehicle climbing back into the front passenger seat.
Roy said, “Any news Tracy?”
“Yes, she was here and checked out about forty-five minutes, from what the receptionist said it would appear that Carter and McFaul picked her up!”
Roy said, “Shit! We must have missed them by minutes, okay I’ll give Max a heads up and then we will return back to the house.”
Roy picked up his Codetta, spoke to Max, and advised him of the situation.
Max listened and then said, “Okay Roy; hopefully Chuck can get a lead on them, get yourself back here there is no more to be done at your end.”
“Roger that Max, we will back shortly, out.

Wayne Rochester had received a phone call earlier that morning from the deputy director of the CIA Walter Smith and after a few moments of small talk, the deputy director came directly to the point of his phone call and had raised the previous evening’s events at the warehouse.
Wayne was momentarily taken back his thoughts trying to understand why the phone call and the fact that Chuck Morris the CIA director had been in attendance, however he remembered what Chuck had said, “this is a delicate matter and the security and safety of the people of this country hangs in the balance with the outcome!”
Once the Deputy Director had finished Wayne said, “How can I be of assistance sir?”
“I would like to come down and have a look at the warehouse and the munitions found along with the bodies,” replied the deputy Director.
Wayne replied, “When do you want to visit sir?”
“How is two pm this afternoon?”
“Wayne replied, “let me check my diary,” he paused and then replied, “that will be fine Deputy Director and I will see you in my office at two.”
Following the phone call Wayne had immediately placed a call to Chuck Morris and advised him of his call from the Deputy Director, following the advice Chuck had given Wayne was prepared for the Deputy Directors visit.
Bang on two PM the Deputy Director was shown into his office, Wayne extended his hand and both men shook hands and he offered the deputy director hot drink that they were now both indulging in.
Wayne was the first to broach the subject of the warehouse raid, “Sir; I must admit I was surprised by your call this morning and your request to visit over a simple arms cache seizure?”
Walter Smith placed his cup down and said, “Unfortunately I am unable to inform you of my reasons as this incident is possibly linked into an on-going operation we have on the go, all I can say it has to do with national security. I am sorry I cannot be more forthcoming colonel.”
Wayne said, “I understand sir when matters of national security are involved there are protocols to be adhered too. Now where would you like to start?”
“I think a visit to the warehouse would be a good start colonel.”
/> “I will have my driver take us if that is alright with you sir?”
“That will be fine colonel; I will advise my driver, before we go can you point me in the direction of the men’s room?”
“Certainly, out my door turn left and it is the fifth door on your left.”
“I will be back in a few minutes colonel.”

Fourteen fifty-seven hours EST
Thirty minutes later, they arrived at the warehouse that had a state trooper on foot guarding the main entrance and another one in the patrol vehicle, as the driver drove up in the unmarked car he lowered his window and the state trooper walked over to him.
As he approached, he immediately noticed the colonel in the back and leant forward to the driver’s window and said, “Sir we have been expecting you, I will have the gates opened for you.”
Wayne Rochester replied, “thank you trooper.”
Five minutes later Walter Smith was walking around the interior of the warehouse whilst Wayne stood back out of his way.
The deputy director walked slowly around the area occasionally bending down and peering beneath objects on one occasion Wayne noticed he used a pen to flick something out of a crevice in a corner and picked it up on the end of his pen and examined the small object close to his eyes.
With the overhead lighting illuminating the warehouse, Wayne caught a glint off the small object as the deputy director turned it around on the pens end and he immediately knew what it was.
The deputy director pulled out a clear plastic evidence bag from his jacket pocket and placed the object into it and then put it in his jacket pocket.
Wayne watched as the deputy director continued his walk around the enclosure and a few minutes later he re-joined Wayne who asked him, “find anything that could help with your investigation sir?”
Walter Smith evaded the question but asked one himself, “What sort of weapons did the guards here have colonel?”
“They certainly were not American sir, we have them secured back at HQ, I am sure one of my staff will be happy to answer that question for you.”
“I can see that you followed protocol and swept the area of casings, are they also back at your HQ?”
“Certainly sir, they are with the weapons.”
“Thank you colonel, I would like to see the bodies now and then I will examine the weapons.”
“I will have my driver take us to the police mortuary that is located at our headquarters where the bodies are awaiting autopsies, sir.”

The Police mortuary was located in a separate building behind the main Police building.
Wayne escorted the deputy director into the building and spoke to a man in a white gown he then turned to the deputy director and said, “This is our pathologist Frank Hamilton sir, he has the autopsies scheduled for tomorrow, if we give him five minutes he will have the bodies ready for your viewing.”
Walter Smith said, “thank you Frank.”
Five minutes later the pathologist came back to them and escorted them into the large well-lit room that had a chill in the air, where there were sheeted bodies on tables.
Walter Smith noticed there were quite a few and said, “How many do you have Frank?”
The Pathologist replied, “Twenty sir.”
Walter Smith turned to Wayne and said, “Seems a lot of people to be at the warehouse?”
Wayne was quick with his reply having anticipated this question and said, “My thoughts too sir, but that was the numbers we encountered when we went in.”
Walter Smith turned to the Pathologist and said, “so Frank; give me your opinion of the causes of death?”
“Sir, until I can perform the autopsies to actual confirm causes of death, all I can say at this point is their deaths appear to be from multiple gunshot wounds.”
Walter Smith understood the pathologist’s slight evasion, as it was critical in these circumstances to have the exact cause of death established, even if the body had gunshot wounds to it.
“May I have a look at them Frank?”
“Certainly sir, some of them are not a pretty sight.”
“I appreciate your advice Frank; however I have unfortunately seen many bodies during my career.”
Frank nodded and extended his right arm in a gesture for the deputy director take a look.
Walter Smith walked over to the first table and pulled the white sheet back exposing a naked male body with multiple wounds to it.
He leaned forward closer to the corpse and looked closely at the wounds and he pulled the sheet back and repeated this exercise with all the sheeted bodies, before returning to Wayne and Frank and said, “they do not look like native Americans, Frank in your estimation what nationality do you think they are?”
“I would guess they are of eastern European descent, based on their skin pigment hair and facial features sir.”
Walter Smith said, “thank you Frank that will be all.”
A couple of minutes later Wayne and Walter were outside when Wayne said, “You wish to see the weapons cache sir?”
Walter Smith looked at his watch four O five PM and replied, “A cup of coffee would be right about now colonel then I will see them.”
Wayne Rochester replied, “A good call sir must admit I could do with one myself, follow me back to my office.”
Thirty minutes later Wayne Rochester showed the CIA deputy director to the evidence room where the arms from the warehouse had been stored.
A sergeant was present and Wayne introduced the deputy director to him, “this is Sergeant Nixon, any questions relating to the items here and the sergeant will be able to answer them for you sir.”
Walter Smith said, “Sergeant what type of weapons were recovered?”
“Sir; the men at the warehouse were equipped with the AS- Val silenced assault weapon, the other munitions found were a mixture of shotguns, grenades and C-4 explosives.”
“Where does it originate from and what calibre is it?”
“The weapon is chambered for the 9x39mm SP-6 round that is a rifle calibre 7.62x39 case with a special widened neck and originates from the Soviet Union sir.”
Walter Smith reached into his pocket, pulled out the plastic evidence bag, handed it to the Sergeant, and said, “What type of cartridge is that Sergeant?”
Sergeant Nixon looked at the cartridge and replied, “It’s a 9x19mm Parabellum sir.”
“Sergeant; how popular is this cartridge and what type of weapon uses it?”
“Sir; the 9x19mm Parabellum is a very popular cartridge that was developed in 1901 by Georg Luger. It is a very common cartridge used in handguns as well as submachine guns compatible with at least twenty weapons; this is from a full metal jacketed round.”
“Can you give me some idea to the types of weapon this could have come from Sergeant?”
“Sir, anything from the Glock or Colt pistol range to the Heckler & Koch MP-5 submachine gun range.”
Walter Smith paused and thought for a moment and then said, “thank you Sergeant you have been most helpful.”
The CIA deputy d
irector then moved around the room examining the weapons and munitions then returned Wayne and said, “thank you Colonel I am satisfied with everything you have shown me. I commend you and your people on a good job done.”
“Thank you sir, is there anything else I can help you with?”
“That will be all, time I went back to Langley.”
“Then follow me and I will escort you back to the reception area and the car park.”
Ten minutes later Wayne Rochester was on the phone to Chuck Morris explaining the recent events with Walter Smith, when he had finished Chuck Morris said, “good job Wayne as soon as this is all cleared up I will personally give you a full debrief and a meal out with Tracy and me. However one thing disturbs me and that is the casing Walter picked up, you say it was a 9x19mm Parabellum and was obviously not connected to the Russian weapons?”
“That’s correct Chuck apparently the Russian weapons were chambered for the 9x39mm SP-6 and my men are issued with the Smith and Wesson S&W Model 64 .38 calibre 4-inch barrel stainless steel revolver and the Remington Model 870 pump-action shotgun.”
“And you say your Sergeant gave him some possible weapons that this round would be fired from?”
“That’s correct Chuck, anything from a Glock or Colt pistol to a HK MP-5 submachine gun.”
“Okay, Wayne you have done your bit, leave it with me for now.”
Chuck Morris hung the phone up and sat at his desk contemplating the information he had just heard.
He looked at his watch, four fifty-six PM time to go pick up Sergeant Cray from the warehouse and return to the safe house, and speak with Max.
