Thyos nodded his head. “So we’re back at the cabin?” he asked in a low murmur.

Aurelia looked around. “For now,” she said. “Just until you recover. I think they want you back in the city by the end of the week so results from the vote can be discussed and decisions can be made. And we can’t do anything without a decision from the vampire ruler.”

Thyos grinned despite himself. “Do you think I am making a smart decision?” he asked. “Agreeing to this nonsense?”

“I don’t think you truly believe it’s nonsense, or else you wouldn’t agree to it,” Aurelia pointed out. She leaned closer to him so his face was mere millimeters from his. “Can I tell you a secret?”

His grin deepened, and his eyes danced with amusement. “What’s that?” he asked.

“It’s okay to be a Berkano vampire and still have hope for a better future,” she said. “I know it goes against your moral code, but I promise you, it’s not that big of a deal. Plus, I promise I won’t say anything.”

His smile widened and, using his hand to cup her cheek, he brought her closer to him.

“I find you are my strength, Aurelia Stone,” he murmured. “And I can feel you resonate deep in my body. Deep in my heart.” He placed a soft kiss on her lips, his clear blue eyes dancing with happiness and nothing else. “You are the reason my heart beats again.”

She grinned and gave him a more passionate kiss, and Thyos felt himself looking forward to this future that they were going to work so hard toward… together.

  Acknowledgments

First and foremost, my thanks go out to May Sage, who generously gave me this opportunity to write this book. I wrote it in nine days - I exhausted my fingers and got in trouble at work, but I did it. It was a major accomplishment, something I’m proud of.

Thanks to Rebecca Hamilton for believing in me and for creating this wonderful world where creativity runs rampant.

Thanks to Becky Frank for living inside my brain and pulling out this cover. It’s beautiful and amazing and I can’t thank you enough.

Thank you to Cynthia Shepp and her team of editing, proof reading superstars who took this raw manuscript and shined it up. You guys are awesome and I sincerely appreciate your hard work and dedication.

To all of the authors in the Fallen Sorcery 3 collection, I am humbled and honored to be in this collection with you. I’ve learned so much from you and I appreciate all the advice and support.

To my readers, I seriously hope you love this book as much as I loved writing it!

Finally to my family - Frank and Kylee and Jacob - thanks for your support and understanding while I hid away in my writing cave and all but ignored all of you.
