He kisses me again, quickly, which is starting to annoy me because I want more – a lot more.

“It makes sense and if you’re my girl then it’s to be expected. Callie, I told you before that I’m going to mess this up basically because I haven’t done it before, but when I do in the future please don’t run. Tell me what I’ve done wrong okay and I’ll try not to be pissed when you do.”

I start to laugh. Only Reece could try and mend bridges by telling me he’s going to screw up.

“Will you be honest with me from now on?” He nods his head.

“Will you think about me before making any decisions that might piss me off?” He grins, but nods his head. “Will you stand up for me against Dal?”

His hand freezes in the middle of my back, where it came to rest as he was caressing me. “Dal, wants to apologize. She admits she was jealous that my attention was on you. In fact, she’s come here with me. I left her at the hotel. She was kind of backup.” I raise my head to look at him. “If you wouldn’t listen to me, she was going to tell you. She really is sorry Callie and I want you both to be friends. I realize that’s probably going to take time because of what she said, but will you try?”

My first impression of Dal isn’t one of friendship, more like that of enemies. But if she’s willing to try again then I guess I am. “Okay. I’ll try if she’s willing to.”

“She is… Will you let me kiss you? I’m starving.”

I nod and get shivers right down to my toes when he slides his hands through my hair to cup the back of my head. I wiggle around in his lap to try and get closer to him, and feel the growing hardness between us. He growls and brings my face closer to him, a breath between us.

  “Callie, you up there?”

  Fuck!

  I pull back slightly.

  “Who is it?”

“Creepy Drew.” Damn. “I mean a neighbor.”

I scramble off Reece’s lap and hold my hand out to help him up from the floor.

  “Callie?”

Turning quickly to Reece, I say, “Don’t leave me alone with him. I’ll explain later.” I reach up and throw my arms around his neck before sealing his lips with mine.

What started out as a quick kiss turns into so much more the minute our tongues meet. His arms go around me, holding me tight against him while my body starts to go up in flames. God, I’ve missed his taste and the feel of his hard body against mine.

“What the fuck…Callie,” Drew shouts when he opens my bedroom door.

Reece breaks the kiss and puts me behind him. “Who the fuck are you? And what gives you the right to barge into her bedroom like that?” Oh, he’s pissed.

“She’s my girl, that’s what gives me the right.”

What the fuck! I feel Reece tense against me. I need to speak up, but the words die on my dry lips. Drew always frightens me so I stay silent, but I can’t let Reece believe I’ve been with someone else. Does Reece believe him?

“Cut the crap. She’s my girlfriend so I suggest you get the hell out of here before my fist meets that face,” Reece says.

He didn’t believe him. He trusts me. His words give me the courage I need.

Stepping out from behind Reece, I wrap my arm around his waist and snuggle into him before facing Drew and telling him, “I’ve never been your girl Drew, but I am Reece’s.”

He looks ready to burst a gasket as he stands in front of us with his fists clenching and his face getting redder by the minute.

“This isn’t the end because you belong with me,” Drew fumes before doing an about-turn back downstairs leaving me chilled.

What does he mean – this isn’t over?

  “Callie.”

I raise my head to meet Reece’s eyes. “Tell me now,” he says in a pissed off voice, “has that bastard ever done anything to you.” Anger washes off of him in waves and I know that he’s ready to go after Drew and beat the shit out of him. I hug him tight, burying my face in his chest.

“He’s only ever looked at me and given me the chills in a bad way, but he’s never touched me.” I don’t think it would be wise to admit he’s the reason why I get claustrophobic at least while they’re in the same vicinity.

Spotting his nipple ring outlined through his shirt, I move forward and opening my mouth I clamp down softly on his nipple. He shudders as the tension starts to leave his body.

My hands have a mind of their own and start to move up under his shirt. I use my nails to lightly scrape over his abs and up to his nipple rings. Shoving his shirt up his chest, I start to lap at one with my tongue and use my fingers to tease the other. He holds my head to him as I continue to lick and nibble his hard nubs, teasing him. His breathing starts to become labored as I lick down his abs to the tops of his pistols. God, these drive me crazy.

I drop to my knees and dip my tongue into the waistband of his jeans as my hand wanders and strokes down his length to his balls.

“Christ.” He removes my hand from his dick and taking my hands in his, takes a step back. “No.” He pulls me to my feet. “I want to take you out…on a date. I want to show you how much you mean to me, and every time we get together I always end up in you,” he smirks, “so this is not happening tonight…and no matter how painful it might get, I’m not changing my mind.”

“Hmm. Really? Are you sure about that?” I start undoing the buttons on my cargo pants.

  “Callie,” he growls.

  Chapter 24

  Reece

When I’m with Callie, I wish we were on a desert island, just the two of us so we can walk around naked all day. My dick twitches at the thought. At least I’d be comfortable. I adjust myself.

The last buttons on her cargo pants pop open. I lick my lips before stepping further back and smacking into the wall. “No. No way, babe. We are going on a proper date with no sex.” She pouts and I laugh. “I’m serious. In fact, I’m really serious and no matter what you do I’m not going to be putting my hand in your sexy, little panties.”

She sniggers, fastening her pants back up. “Well, that won’t happen anyway because I’m not wearing any.”

Fuck! What is it with my girl and panties? My dick certainly likes the fact, but she’s going to kill me.

  “Callie?”

I jump hearing her name spoken and turn to watch a man who I presume to be her father walking toward us.

“Why did Drew leave so fast?” He looks back and forth between Callie and me, obviously waiting for an introduction. He also doesn’t look too happy to find a guy in his daughter’s bedroom. I just hope he didn’t hear our discussion about my hand and her panties.

“Um, Dad. This is Reece,” she says, sliding her hand into mine. “Reece, this is my Dad, Andrew.”

He holds his hand out to me, which I take. At least he doesn’t try to test me by squeezing the hell outta my hand.

“Nice to meet you, Reece. Are you a friend of my daughters, from college?”

I pause before answering wondering whether or not my reply is going to get me a fist in the face. “Yes, Sir.” Then going for broke, I add, “We actually met during the summer in Alabama.”

“Ah, yes. You’re a friend of Thalia’s boyfriend. I remember you being mentioned.” He looks between us. “You wouldn’t happen to know why my daughter doesn’t want to return to college, now would you?”

He doesn’t miss a damn thing.

I’ve not gotten where I am today by standing back and being walked all over, so I stand up to him and tell him the truth, “I believe she won’t come back because of me.” I look at Callie. “We had a misunderstanding, which was all my fault, but I hope we’re back on track and that she’ll be coming back with me.”

“Maybe,” she replies, breaking off eye contact. “We’re going out so I might be real late home.”

“Okay, honey. Just text your mom.” Andrew gives me one last warning look, I’m sure he’s less than pleased to be leaving his daughter alone with me, but he walks away without saying anythin
g else. You’ve got to hand it to the guy, he seems to trust his daughter’s judgment.

His departure has left me feeling unsure about Callie again. What did she mean “maybe?”

“You’re not getting away easy. You have to prove to me over the next… How many days are you here?”

“As long as it takes to make you mine again.”

“Hmm. Okay, then. Over the next couple of days, let’s say two, you can show me that you’re worthy of another chance. You have to show me what I’ll be missing if I stay here without you.”

Two days. She’s only given me two days to work my magic. Well, if she thinks I’m going to pussy around her, she can think again. Today we’re going on our first date and after I’ve spent the night having cold showers, we’re going to go on another date, which may or may not involve some heavy groping. God, help me! Keeping my hands to myself today is going to be practically impossible. Callie’s enough to tempt a priest with that sweet, little ass swaying as she walks and her breasts. I lick my lips.

“What are you thinking about?” She rubs a hand over my erection as she walks past me toward her bedroom door. “Never mind,” she grins, “I can guess. C’mon, lover boy, let’s go and see Dal before you spend the rest of the day sweating. Then I can spend the rest of the day trying my best to seduce you out of your clothes.” She grins.

I look up to the ceiling or rather the gods and pray for restraint.

As I follow her down the stairs, I chant, ‘no sex, no sex, no sex.’ I really do want to do this thing with Callie, right this time. I want to date her and not just dive in first with the fucking. Not that there’s anything wrong with that, in fact, it’s damn hot with her, but I don’t want her to think I’m just after her for the sex, you know? I may or may not have read a couple of Dal’s ‘romance’ novel’s while we’ve been apart.

Not that I’ll admit to anything if asked, although Dal did give me a strange look when she was looking for one of them, which I’d left in my room. I grin. I’d quickly gone and retrieved it and only just managed to bury it under a cushion on the sofa before she was back in the lounge looking for it. Anyway, going back to the ‘romance’ bit, it was more like reading a porno book than a romance. It sure as hell opened my eyes, I tell you. I also had no idea Dal read books like that, but I sure as hell wasn’t planning on asking her about them because then I’d have to admit to reading them.

Stepping out the front door, I pray Dal really does keep her promise to apologize and help me get Callie back. I’ll be pissed to hell if she doesn’t, but I’ll be standing by Callie’s side. I’ve learnt my lesson.

  ~ * ~

I bang on Dal’s hotel room door and pull Callie in close against my chest. She wraps her arms around my waist as though she has no intention of letting go. I don’t want her to let go. Ever. My feelings for this girl in my arms terrify the life outta me, because it’s nothing I’ve ever felt before. Whenever I think about her or get close to her my heart literally pounds in my chest. I’m not even sure that’s normal. I think I’ll keep that to myself though for now. Christ, Donovan would have a field day if he knew she has me pussy whipped.

At that thought, I’m grinning when Dal opens her door with a lovely scowl on her face. “You’re back…and it went, okay.”

I roll my eyes and feel Callie tense against me. Caressing down her back, I glare at Dal over her head.

  “Whatever.”

She opens her door wider so we can enter.

After a few minutes of silence, Callie breaks it, by saying, “Well, this is awkward.”

Dal sighs. “Yes it is…Look, we got off to a bad start, okay. I’m sorry I helped screw things up between you and Reece. It was my intention at the start, but really, I’ve never seen him like this with anyone before so I really am sorry.” She smiles, holding her hand out to Callie. “Truce.”

Callie takes a tentative step toward her and grips her hand. “Truce.”

Returning to my side, Callie reaches up and kisses me. It was only a brief touching of lips, but it was like a breath of fresh air.

“Phew! Now that’s sorted I’m starving,” Dal says, making a grab for the room service menu over the bed.

“We’re going out to eat and then heading out somewhere.”

“Huh, okay. Well, I’m going to head home later so I’ll see you next time.” Dal jumps up from the bed and hugs me. “Don’t screw it up,” she whispers.

“I won’t… You ring me if you need me, okay?” I really hate the fact that she has to go home to that piece of shit she calls a father. I’ve tried to talk her into moving in with Donovan and me, but she won’t leave and she won’t tell me why, which drives me crazy.

“Take care of him, Callie.” They quickly hug, before she’s trying to shove us out the door. “I’m hungry so the sooner you’re gone the sooner I can eat.” She stands with her hands on her hips and a small smile trying to break free of her mouth.

  “Bye, Dal.”

With the door shutting behind us, Callie turns to me and asks, “Is she alright?”

I take Callie’s hand and lead her down the hall toward the elevators. Pressing the down button, I lean against the wall to the side and reply, “I’m not sure. She’s a private person, and as far as I know, I’m the only one she’s close too. She doesn’t have any friends other than me, but that’s probably because of her sunny disposition.”

Callie smacks me as she walks into the waiting elevator. “That isn’t nice.”

I rub my chest as I follow her inside. “I’m only speaking the truth. She’s like a rattler and don’t tell me you haven’t noticed.”

“I’m not saying anything…and you need to keep talking so I don’t start to panic. I forgot I don’t like elevators.” She looks around the small space and starts to rub her chest.

“You were fine on the way up… Ah!” On the way up, we hadn’t come up for air.

Taking her face into my hands, I make her look into my eyes. “I’m only too happy to help you, babe.”

Very slowly, I start to place butterfly kisses along each eyebrow, moving down along her nose then to each cheek before finally licking along her delicious, cherry red lips. She opens her mouth on a moan, which I take advantage of by slipping my tongue inside.

Gripping my head, she pulls even closer to her, tangling her tongue with mine. Our bodies end up straining against the other, her breast squashed against my chest as her aroused nipples dig into me. My dick is solid and knows where it wants to go, but that really isn’t happening. I wasn’t lying about spending the night having cold showers.

“Reece,” she pants, shaking against me.

  I lose it.

Gripping her sexy ass, I haul her up against me so there isn’t an inch between us. She wraps her legs around my hips and grinds against me, as I use the wall of the elevator to hold her up while I slide my hands inside her shirt to scrape her nipples with my nails.

  The doors open.

  “Oh my, God.”

  “Fuck.”

Callie untangles her legs and drops them back to the floor, wiggling out of my arms. She takes my hand, laughing, and drags me from the elevator sporting an enormous dick that is drawing the attention of everyone in the lobby. I didn’t think I could get embarrassed, but I’m wrong. I tug on Callie’s hand to pull her back into my arms and then groan when her ass lands against the throbbing going on in my jeans. “Dammit, Callie,” I hiss. “Stay still. My dick’s hard as fuck thanks to me trying to distract you.”

She snickers. “You’ll be pleased to know it worked.”

I fill my lungs with air and move her slightly away from me. “Let’s get out of here before we get arrested for indecent exposure.”

“Spoil sport,” she says, pulling her bottom lip between her teeth. I lick my lips and she laughs.

  “C’mon. I’m hungry now.”

  ~ * ~

After lunch of beef enchiladas at Callie’s favorite restaurant in the heart of San Antonio, she had me driv
e us out of town for about an hour to some remote place in the middle of nowhere. I’m not complaining though because we are now lying wrapped around each other in a sleeping bag watching the stars. It was a damn good idea of Callie’s to take the truck she’d been using since she’d arrived home instead of my rental otherwise we wouldn’t be able to do this.

The stars here seem so much clearer than back home, but that could be because I never really noticed them, and now that I’m relaxing here with my girl in my arms they seem so much brighter, and closer.

Callie hasn’t moved or spoken in what must be close to an hour as I hold her close, caressing her back and I wonder if she’s fallen asleep. So far I’ve managed to stay true to my words of no sex and my hand has stayed above her waist. Doesn’t mean to say that because I’ve not tried to get into her panties that I don’t want to, because I do. So badly that I’m tempted to try and get out from lying half under her to beat off. Yeah, that’s how hard I am and I’ve been this way since we first laid down out here. It was difficult as hell to keep her away from my dick when she snuggled up against me. I’m sure she knows what she does to me though.

As if reading my mind, she throws her leg over mine, and curls around me, her knee landing right on top of me. I let out a groan as she chuckles’ definitely not asleep.

“You’re hard,” she states the obvious.

“I always am.” I close my eyes and pray for strength. Every time I say we’re not going to have sex we always end up doing something to get off, well this time I’m determined we really aren’t going to have sex.

“Please stay away from there, Callie,” I groan, her knee rubbing against me.

She starts to wiggle around in the sleeping bag, but I’m too busy concentrating on not blowing in my jeans to take much notice as to why… Big mistake!

Reaching above our heads, she switches the large flashlight on so we can see each other. “Reece,” she straddles me, shoving the top of the sleeping bag away as she rises up, sitting astride me in all her glory, removing her top, “make love to me.”
