Finding her lips, I pushed her against the wall. Last night, had been the time for slow and sweet. Right now, I had to be inside her.
“Take it off.” My voice deepened as I remembered the fact she had said the same thing to me only just yesterday.
Miranda didn’t hesitate. She ripped the shirt off over her head and yanked the pants down. Kicking them aside she waited.
*
I followed Val's command, my breath catching as I waited to see what he was going to do. This is the Val I knew. The Val you didn't say no to. My whole body hummed as I stood naked against the wall.
“I have to be inside you.”
The words came out breathless as Val moved as quick as he could to get his clothes off. I resisted the urge to laugh as the got caught in his attempt. The laughter that wanted to escape died the moment he lifted me and my legs wrapped around his waist.
Val gave no warning as he gripped the sides of my waist and thrust hard. The force caused my whole body to rock. My back hit the wall as Val showed no mercy, fucking me fast and furious as every nerve ending lit up. I had no control over my body. Val became ruthless, as my mind blanked out and I came hard. With one more thrust, Val joined me.
I unlocked my legs from Val’s waist, putting my feet back on the floor. My whole body had already begun to grow sore. I knew I would have new bruises to add to my already vast collection.
Unlike the old ones they would be ones, I didn't mind wearing.
“I think I need another shower. Care to join me this time?”
“Do you ever get enough?” Val said as he tugged me towards the bathroom.
“When it comes to you Val Knight apparently not.”
His face lit up like I had just given him the world. I had always thought words were simple things, and they had lost their meaning when they had only been used to inflict pain. Now they created magic, turning the king of Bound and Bared into just a boy who wanted love even though he didn't know it yet.
He walked to the bathroom and knew I would follow. I wanted to tell him I would always follow not matter what lied ahead. I knew we couldn't stay here forever, and I didn't yet have the courage to ask about my sisters. I knew he would have tried to keep his promise, but I didn't know if he had succeeded. He hadn't said anything, and it appeared to be a subject we weren't discussing. I hated the fact I didn't want too. I didn't want my thin thread of happiness to be ripped away so soon. I had only just started to find my way back. I met Val's eyes as I stepped into the shower with him. They told me I wasn't the only one worried about what lied ahead.
Chapter Forty-Nine
Back at the club, the doors I once would do anything to see again now seemed ominous. Something had changed when we got the shower; Val had shifted into silent mode as he told me we needed to go back to the club. I had tried to ask why but, given his somber demeanor, he wasn't going to say.
We were back at the start, and the flicker of hope seemed to be failing.
I pushed the door open, and all I saw was a flash of dark hair before someone grabbed me.
"Selena." My arms wrapped around her and I held on tight. Selena held on to me just as tight, and it felt wonderful to have her arms around me. "I missed you," I whispered in her ear.
Pulling back Selena let a small smile touch her lips. “Me too.”
“Are you two done?” Val asked.
Selena and I both swung around at the same time and met Val’s eyes.
“Jealous?” Miranda said as she raised her eyebrows.
“Of what? Selena knows what’s mine.”
My mouth fell open. Lucky for me Selena spoke first.
“Looks like he didn’t learn any manners while he was away.”
I opened my mouth to reply, but I stopped when I saw two faces I knew as well as my walk in. They saw me at the same time, and it became a race to see who could get to the other first. My sisters and I collided in a tangle of arms and tears.
I held on to them not believing they were here in my arms.
Emily pulled back first. “What is going on? Where have you been?” Hurt radiated from her eyes. Sam just found my eyes and waited for me to answer. I knew I had hurt them. I had tossed them into chaos without explaining why.
“I’m sorry I couldn’t tell you. All that matters is that both of you are safe.”
“You called being kidnapped safe?” Emily glared at me as she slipped from my hug and crossed her arms over her chest.
“Stop it, Em. It wasn’t that bad.” Sam looked at Emily and shook her head.
I turned to Val. “You kidnapped them?”
"My priority was getting you back in one piece. Kidnapping is a harsh term. Thorn and Selena just took them for a ride against their will."
I took a step in Val’s direction, but Sam stopped me.
"We are fine. Everyone here has been nothing but good to us. Emily is dramatic." Sam ran her eyes over me, and I knew the moment she caught sight the fading bruises. "Who hurt you?"
“What?” Emily stepped toward me. “Someone hurt you?”
“I’m fine. It’s all over now.” Tears threatened to break.
"It's not fine." Emily's voice broke. "It's never been fine. You always thought you could hide what he made you do. The horrific things you lived through all because you were trying to protect us. I won't watch you hurt anymore. I can't do it Mir." Emily's voice broke, and I wondered how I had been so blind. I thought they didn't know about what was happening to me, but I had been wrong. So many nightmares we had to try and live with, forgetting would never be an option I prayed one day we could look back, and the nightmares would no longer own us.
I reached out and pulled them both close. “You won’t have anymore. I left so I could find the help I needed to get us free.” I looked over at Val. “How you got here doesn’t matter, the only thing that matters is that you are here. We are together. Everything is going to be okay now. Do you trust me?”
Sam spoke up first. “Of course.”
“I trust the people here with my life,” I said. “They want to help us.”
I could see Emily was still suspicious, her eyes narrowed as she turned and looked at Val. It had always been her default setting, so I hoped she would come around in time.
“He saved you?” Sam asked as her eyes met Val’s.
"Yes," I said, a smile struck my face as looked at Val.
Before I could stop her, Sam walked up to Val and put her arms around him. "Thank you."
My eyes went wide as my mouth dropped open. Sam had always avoided men, a byproduct of growing up with our father. Sam could see through all the fake charm and knew the men my father hung around with were wolves in sheep's clothing. Sam learned fast to stay away from them. But it wasn't only my sister that had surprised me; Val lets her hug him without trying to push her away. He was awkward and not quite sure how to handle it, but his arms finally went around her to return the hug. I simply started for a moment before I walked up and put my hand on her shoulder.
“He’s not much of a hugger, Sam.”
Sam pulled back, looking Val directly in the eyes. She smiled. “He’ll get used to it.”
Val laughed. “We will both have to get used to it, I think.” Something had passed between them and within a minute they seemed to understand each other. I couldn’t help but be amazed.
Val smiled at Sam and then nodded his head toward Emily. She didn’t move, but something flashed in her eyes. She had stopped staring at him like he was the enemy.
“Go catch up. I’ll find you later,” Val said.
"Come on, Sam." I reached out my hand, and Sam took it. I waited for Emily to decide if she wanted to join us.
Emily took one last look at Val and said, “Why do I get the feeling you two are more than just friends?”
I didn’t say anything. I was so not ready to go there.
“Well, if you’re not, I have to wonder what’s wrong with you. He’s hot, even for a kidnapper.” Emily said as she grabbed my othe
r hand.
"Em," I said as my ears turned red and I winced.
"He is," Emily stated without caring about the fact I was now in full blown embarrassment mode.
I continued to blush as I heard Val laughing behind us. I knew he was planning all the ways he could use Emily's words to his advantage against me. Then again, I didn't care. In fact, I couldn't wait to see what he had in mind.
Chapter Fifty
As I watched Miranda walk away with her sisters and, for once, I felt like I had gotten something right. I saw her in each of their faces. The similarities were subtle, but I could see them. I headed to my office feeling like I more things to lose than gain by going up against Connor Price. I had to make sure I ended up on the winning side.
*
I sat with my sisters at the bar trying to enjoy the time we had before my father tried to take it all away. I had no doubt he would come, trapped inside a waiting game, beautiful seconds of freedom I didn't intend to lose but wasn't sure how to hold on to.
Light, tentative steps echoed behind me, I shifted in my seat, and a familiar face greeted me. "Case." Her name was the only thing I could manage.
The minute she saw me her eyes grew wide as she stepped closer. “Miranda.”
We started at each, replaying the memory of the hell we had met in before we landed in each other's arms.
“You told me they were coming. I was so close to....” Case trailed off as tears slid down her cheeks.
I didn’t need to know what she had almost said. I had been there too. Where you think giving in is better than enduring any second of more horror.
“I told him they took you,” Case said. “I didn’t think I’d ever see you again.”
She stepped back, wrapping her arms around herself. I wanted to offer her something, anything to let her know she wasn’t alone. One night together in hell had made us sisters, friends, survivors. We had been forged in flames, and we would rise from the ashes of our memories like stars, beautifully brilliant in a darkened sky.
“We are survivors Case. We will get through this I promise.” I held out my hand, and I could see the hesitation before her fingers wrapped around me.
A ghost of a smile touched her face. “I’m trying.”
"We will do it together." I pulled her gently to the bar, and she took a seat beside me. Selena joined us, and our group was complete. I don’t think Val’s club had ever had women like us. We seemed to belong and be out of place all at the same time.
“I’m hungry. Anyone else?” Emily said as she slid off the bar stool.
"The chef should be here by now," Selena said. "All I have to do is ask, and we can get what want."
"I want to know your secret, Selena. All you do is ask, and people do what you want." Emily raised an eyebrow expecting Selena to reveal her secret. I could have told her it was never going to happen.
“I’m not telling. Now let’s go piss off a chef.” Selena smirked as she stood up.
“You guys go ahead. I want to see what Val is up too. He’s been MIA for a while now.”
“Sure you do. Have fun, Sis.” Emily said as she winked at me,
I rolled my eyes. Despite their chilly reception to each other, Emily and Val had a lot in common thought I found rather scary at the moment.
Chapter Fifty-One
Val sat at his desk, the undercurrent of power dark and deadly spinning around him like a web. I found myself staring at him like I was seeing him for the first time.
“You’re staring at me.” Val met my eyes, “Care to tell me why?”
I opened my mouth, but nothing came out. I couldn’t tell him he made me weak when he looked at me. I couldn’t say the thing he tried to control was what craved more than my next breath. He owned me in every way. I didn’t think he understood the spell he cast, the way he had become the only universe I could exist within.
I moved closer, drawn by the pull between us. My hands reached out and brushed the hair out off of his face. I trailed my fingers over his cheek, and Val turned towards my touch. Seeking me, wanting me.
Val wanting my touch sent desire flooding through me. I responded like a drug addict needing a fix. Pushing his chair away from the desk he gripped my hips and dragged me onto his lap. Running his tongue over my pulse and I knew he could feel the way it raced under his mouth. He had barely touched me, and I was already gone. Turning my head to give him better access, my legs opened. The action was beyond being automatic. It was possession. The ownership of my body and the taking of my soul.
Miranda rose from my lap, her ass finding a spot on my desk. She spread her thighs, and I didn't need any other invitation. I pressed my body into hers, pushing my cock into the v of thighs. I could feel her heat against my cock, and I knew she was already wet. I slid my fingers inside her pants, greedily searching for her pussy to find out how wet she truly was. My fingers found nothing but slickness. She was soaking from one simple touch. Her body is responding to me like it couldn't wait to have me buried deep inside it.
“Fuck, Miranda.”
“Sounds good to me.” Her words came out breathless.
I withdrew my fingers, and her cry of protest sounded like music.
"Lock the door," I growled.
Doing what she was told, her body bolted from the desk and clicked the lock on the door in place. She stood still waiting for my next command. I thought about all the times I had her in this space. All the things I had done to her. My cock hardened to the point of pain.
"Everything off now, Miranda." The command rolled through the room, and she obeyed. Dropping her clothes without hesitation.
“Come here.” Every step filled with longing as she wanted what only I could give her. I was her king. I had never wanted the crown more.
The moment I had her in reach, I tugged her arm, pulling her to the front of my desk. “Bend over.”
Her body bent over my desk, and I knew she was meant to be there. I couldn't help but be envious of the places the dark wood touched her skin. I wanted it to be me. I never wanted anything but me to touch her. It was beyond jealousy, beyond her being mine. She had become part of me. I wanted to show her what that meant.
“Spread your legs.”
My body laid across his desk like a trophy, completely at Val’s mercy. An offering to the king who ruled me. I wanted no crown. I wanted no throne. I wanted his hands. His cock. His pain. His demons in the dark.
“Wider, Miranda.” His hands gripped my thighs and pushed them further apart. “Be a good girl and don’t move.”
Something struck against my back. The pain burned through me setting everything on fire. Every mark. Every bruise lit up like a firework. I cried out. The second hit struck. My body arched off the desk.
“I told you not to move.” Val’s voice a razor sharp line on which I hinged.
I reached out and grabbed the edge of the desk. My fingers were curling around the wood, looking for something to hold on to. I waited for another blow, but instead I felt his hands against my back. They trailed the old and new marks on my skin like confessions, spilling truth stronger than anything I had known before.
“Tell me to stop.” Val’s voice came out broken.
I shook my head, gripping the desk harder. My time spent in Eddie’s basement had infected what we had, poisoning me and stealing what Val and I had created. I needed the cure, and only Val could give it.
"Again." I closed my eyes. Val delivered the next blow against my spread thighs. Once. Twice. Three times. Each harder than the last. I focused on the sound. The smell. The way the pain worked its way into my skin, spreading, turning fear into something dark and sweet. The hurt held me tight, and Val was the one who made it feel like a caress instead of something wrong. His lips met my tender skin with complete devotion and worship. Whispered prayers against my heart.
Miranda's skin darkened from where I struck, and I could taste the darkness beneath her skin. I wanted it. I would take it. Taking her hair in my hands, I pulled her h
ead up from the desk. I watched her eyes as I slammed my cock deep inside. They went wide as I fucked her hard and deep. I let go of her hair, and her head dropped to the desk. I found her clit with my fingers and heard her whimper as I brought her back the edge. Her pussy gripped my cock as she came. The force is causing me to come, following her into bliss.
“You are mine.” The words came out guttural.
With Val’s cock buried deep and the burn of his blows fresh on my thighs, the weight of his body rested against mine. I felt him everywhere, within every piece. I lifted my head needing to see him.
“I am beginning to love your office, but I think the desk might need some therapy.”
“Do you ever stop?”
I laughed as I shook my head.
Val wrapped his arms around my waist and pulled me to him. “You are lucky I like you.”
I felt him smile against my hair.
“You know what’s coming, Miranda. I declared war on your father. I plan to end this.”
All the warmth fled my body. Cold icy fear returned. I had so much more to lose. “I’m coming with you. We will end this together.”
“I won’t risk you, Miranda.” His voice went cold in my ear. He pulled back, turning me around so I could face him. In his eyes I saw he was prepared to fight me, he might not back down but neither would I.
"But you are willing to risk yourself? What happens if something goes wrong? And don't try to feed me bullshit. Things happen. You are not God even though you like to think you are."
Val's eyes grew dark. "You think I'm weak? You don't know what I have done or what I can do. I'm not someone to fuck with. I believe you have forgotten that."
"Val, stop this. You are starting something on purpose to turn this into a fight. Don't push me away." I saw Val's hands had curled into fists, and I didn't think. I put my hands over him, wrapping around them tight. I caught him off guard, still awed by the fact I willingly touched him. "You don't want to risk me, but did you ever think I feel the same way about you? When I left you that day, I gave you my heart. It will never belong to anyone other than you. I survived every nightmare, but I can't survive without you."
