The Soul Game Page 33

by McQueen, K. T.

Pink, Yellow, Orange, Green, White, Grey, Blue, Purple, Red and Black – Today you must get others to want what you have. It doesn’t matter what it is, but they must want it. Perhaps they will try to take it from you, or maybe they must go straight away and get one for themselves to parade in front of you.

A complication will arise today, each of you will be given an extra task. Each of you will be asked to do something that you won’t want to do. You will be given a sign, a note, a letter, a message, that will show you exactly what you must do. Keep your eyes peeled. They have been carefully selected just for you.

  Read after midnight

If you had people reacting to you as if you were someone special, then give yourself ten points. If you went all out to fulfil this task but didn’t get quite the desired reaction take eight, not everyone can be king of the world. If you tried and failed take five, I doubt anyone will take five today, though.

Are there still some of you reading this that shouldn’t be? Some of you out there that think this is simply a good book? Some who chose to ignore the warnings…. you have already lost; your soul is mine. You will receive a letter you didn’t want to read and which will spoil your day.

  Day 8

Well done I can’t believe so many of you have made it this far. You have now committed all the seven deadly sins.

  How do you feel?

How many people have annoyed you this week? Well, now you can get your own back. Turn one of those people to sin. I don’t care how you do it, but by the end of the day, they should have committed the sin you are assigned. If you do not do this, you will get no points today.

Pink and Yellow – The sin you must turn someone to is Gluttony. Gluttony is the sin of overindulgence in anything to the point of waste; it could be seen as over consumption or selfishness also. This is the sin you committed on day one.

Orange – Yours is greed. Greed is the desire for too much of something that you want all for yourself, however in the case of greed it is about material things and not food or drink, it is about getting more than you need of something, you committed this sin on day two, can you make someone do what you did? Do you remember day two?

Green – Can you cause someone to lust over something? Ah, the deadly sin of lust, who doesn’t know this? Lust is the intense desire for something, the feeling of want and need that crawls under your skin, makes you smile in anticipation, makes you yearn for it. Your poor victim may be turned to this sin in search of money, power, fame or sexual gratification, choose the right one for your victim and go for it, it should be easy, right? An interesting day for sinners on day three.

White and Grey – Please turn someone to sloth, one of my personal favourites. Ah, the day of not bothering, relaxing to extremes, never getting out of bed, not bothering to get washed, not doing the work you are meant to. This you committed on day four. This sin is about being lazy, both in the physical sense and the spiritual sense, it is about failing to do something that you know you should do like watering that plant or collecting someone from the train station when you said, simply because you can’t be bothered. It’s also about not using those gifts and talents that you are aware of in yourself, those things that others praise you for, which bring in the money or put food on the table, the thing that makes you special.

Blue – Today you will cause someone to see red as you turn him or her to the sin of wrath. Wrath is about violence and hate that is taken out of all proportion, this is the sin that causes war and family feuds, this sin is about vengeance and revenge and being a vigilante and you committed it on day five.

Purple – The perfect choice for my devilishly naughty purple is the sin of envy. Envy is the absolute desire to possess something that someone else has, to deprive them of the thing they have, that they worked hard for. This is about wanting what the neighbour has, the wife or husband of someone you know, the money or power another has, their boat, their car, their house. Can you make another feel this? You committed this sin on day six, how did you feel?

Red and Black – The wickedest of them all, you must turn your victim to pride. Pride is the darkest of all sins, the worst of all of them and the one most likely to damn you to hell. Congratulations on completing that on day seven by the way. Pride is about believing that you out of all people are the most important person and that no other person compares to you. You are truly wicked if you can turn your victim to this most dreadful of sins.

  Day 9

All seven sins must be repeated today. In the way, you feel best suits each sin, mix them up if you like but remember the rules. Make a list if it helps, be imaginative.

Each player must also complete a further task according to your colour. Although they are not sins they are all there to teach you something, and it is in your best interest to learn quickly. You can still do something good even after having sinned. You do not need to live the rest of your life in sin unless you want to.

Pink – Tell an embarrassing truth about your love life to someone who doesn’t already know it. It must be the sharing of a confidence to someone you trust.

Yellow – Admit to doing something that hurt someone and how it made you feel as well as why you did it in the first place.

Orange – Tell someone the truth about themselves, that truth that they fail to see and no one dares point out to them.

Green – Admit to someone that you fancy them, someone who doesn’t already know.

White – Kiss a stranger, and you must be sober and they should be willing.

Grey – Buy someone a drink that you don’t know.

Blue – Say thank you to someone in uniform that you do not know for their service to the country.

Purple – Dance to the music in a shop and sing along as if you were alone.

Red – Write a letter to someone you have lost contact with and if you can, post it.

Black – Phone up the person who you least want to talk to and have the conversation that you know you should have already had.

Everyone – Write a will – make the appointment today.

  Read after midnight

For each sin that you successfully complete you may award yourself another five points, if you complete your task you may also award yourself a further ten points. If any of you reading this are morons who think it’s okay to keep reading when you should have been playing all along, watch out for the flames.

  Day 10

  Pleasure and pain

Today you will each do something pleasurable for yourself that is both indulgent and self-serving. You will do something you get maximum pleasure from all by yourself for yourself. You must choose it yourself and it must make you feel both good and naughty at the same time.

If you have succeeded in each of the tasks and gained maximum points then your pain is to go and have a tattoo, it must correspond to the list of colours below. It can be anywhere on your body you wish and any size. I hope you are not afraid of needles.

The meaning of the symbol is the life gift you have traded your very precious soul for; it will be yours until the day you die.

If you did not complete all the tasks then your tattoo must remain unfinished somehow, a line missing or part not coloured in, a portion simply not drawn. If you ignore this instruction when you clearly did not complete all tasks you will be injured and scared in some way in that exact area that you chose to have your tattoo and a portion of it will be wiped from your skin. You will receive your portion of your reward.

  · Pink – a heart, any colour you like – This symbol represents love

  · Yellow – a sun, of whatever design you prefer – This symbol represents healing

  · Orange – a flame – This represents warmth and comfort

  · Green – a four-leaf clover – To represent luck

  · White – a feather – This represents honesty

  · Grey – a cloud – For all of the silver linings

  · Blue – a bird – To represent freedom

  · Purple
– a crown – To represent wealth

  · Red – lips – To represent passion

  · Black – a devil’s trident – To represent protection

These are the things you bargained your soul for and now they are yours for the rest of your mortal life.

  Final Words

See how easy it is to commit a mortal sin? If you were the confessing kind you would need to be in that booth every day.

The Seven Deadly Sins are the worst sins a person can commit, we all know that, but how much of each sin must one commit to be destined for hell? Can a priest take away your sin? Can dunking you in cold water cleanse you of all sin? Can saying sorry?

In my opinion, you did the right thing, you played the game for something of value, and whether you knew it or not your soul was already destined to come down to hell. They all are.

Those seven deadly sins are based on our three base needs: to eat, sleep, and fuck. The things we are essentially designed to do by nature. So we can’t help but sin. No matter how hard we try to deny it, everything we do every day is about those three things. How can a god say, ‘deny yourself your base needs for your entire life and I will accept you into my home – Heaven’? Seems a bit counter-intuitive doesn’t it? Like this whole living on earth thing, has been one big game for him from the start.

And then they made out we were the bad guys!

There’s no torture unless you want there to be. You aren’t thrown into burning pits of lava, even if you think you deserve it. We’re not here to judge. Why not ensure your place by bargaining for a good life whilst you’re still on earth? Become one of us and enjoy your base needs for eternity. There is no sin here.

Now you have a choice to make: play again or carry on with your life as if it were normal and your soul was not promised on your death.

To play again, convince five people to read the book. Choose your next colour and dive back in, play for their souls. I already own yours.
