Seducing the Chambermaid [Notorious Nephilim 2] (Siren Publishing Ménage Amour) Page 4

Leo smacked her ass, and now it burned, even through her skirt. Blair wondered if she’d be able to sit down for the remainder of the day. “It’ll take a while to work this off, Blair. Stealing is a serious offense.”

She wasn’t about to argue and remind them that technically, she hadn’t stolen anything. She was too busy imagining all the things they would do to her.

  Chapter Four

Andras tried for three hours to concentrate on work but was unable to. Even if Zach’s constant pencil tapping hadn’t been distracting as hell, Blair’s scent was. It still filled his head. He’d fucked virgins before, but never one as wet and willing as Blair.

He and Leo had used their Nephilim powers only to enhance her experience. Her reactions to their lovemaking had been real. She’d only voiced a halfhearted protest to the initial spanking. Under that innocent exterior Blair was hiding a wildcat. Had she even known she could become that aroused?

His dick was still rock-hard. The image of Leo fucking her from behind while he pumped her warm mouth played in his head, like a moving picture. Even when he’d finally taken his turn inside her hot cunt, she’d still been tight as a drum. And that ass…round, red, and puffy from a good hard spanking, just the way he liked them.

She’d scurried out of Leo’s office like she couldn’t wait to leave. Andras wasn’t sure if that was because she’d been embarrassed by what happened, or because she’d lied about being a virgin and was used to sexual encounters. With her looks, that wouldn’t surprise Andras one bit.

So why does that thought bother you so much?

Why indeed? It wasn’t like he was going to fall for her.

Leo had assured him he’d known Blair was a virgin the moment he put a finger inside her, so Andras wondered if she hid a cold heart underneath that frightened childlike exterior. The moment that thought entered his head a wave of guilt washed over him. If even half of what she’d told them about Frankie and his men was true, she had a damn good reason to be cautious and aloof. The fact she hadn’t said much during or after sex didn’t necessarily mean she was distant. She could be embarrassed or even unsure how to react since they were her employers.

He put down his pencil and pushed the spreadsheets away to reveal the news clippings he’d taken from Leo’s office. Whoever had written the stories had done a convincing job of portraying Blair as the criminal, not Frankie or Alexander Lorring. Of course, that was pure bullshit, and Andras knew it. If Blair’s father worked for Frankie, he was most likely a bookie. He could even be one of the goons Frankie employed to do his dirty work, and that would explain Blair’s fear and the way she held back.

Andras knew she hadn’t told them the entire truth about the satchel of jewelry or why she’d been hiding in an alley the night she found it, just as she hadn’t told them the truth about how or why she’d shown up at the resort. The only problem now was that he didn’t know what to believe. He only knew, in the three weeks she’d been working for them, Blair had crawled under his skin the way no woman had before, and that spelled trouble.

“Andras, did you hear what I asked you?”

  “What?” Andras stared at Zach.

“You’re a million miles away. I asked if you’d found out anything more about Blair?”

Andras averted his gaze. Oh yeah. We found out plenty. “Yes.”

Zach frowned. “Well? You gonna share it with me?”

  “Her father works for Frankie.”

Zach put down his pencil. “Shit. Doing what?”

“Not sure. We didn’t ask her.” He reached under the desk and pulled out the satchel he’d retrieved from the oak tree. “She says she found this in an alley one night on her way home from work and tried to pawn some of the pieces.”

Zach stood up and crossed the room. When he opened the satchel, he whistled softly. “This is some high quality loot.”

“I know. The pawnbroker alerted Frankie, and two of his goons showed up at her house, looking for her.”

Zach sneered. “Let me guess. She ran away with it and just happened to wind up here?”

  “You think she’s lying?”

“She stole this from Frankie, and now she’s hiding out here. Shit, Andras. We can’t let her stay. And if Frankie or his men find this here—”

  “They won’t.”

  “Why are you protecting her?”

“Because you didn’t see her face when she told us about this. She’s terrified they’ll find her.”

“She should be. But what I’m wondering is why you aren’t. We’ll lose this place, Andras. And then what? We all just pick up and find a new spot to start up again? After fifteen years? After we worked our tails off to start this resort and say fuck you to the archangels who banished us to Earth? I don’t want to do that, and I’m fairly certain the others don’t either.”

“Zach, are you really afraid of Frankie Fillipone? We can call down demons. Have you forgotten that?”

Zach shook his head and perched on the edge of Andras’s desk. “Have you forgotten that we aren’t exactly on Lilith’s good side anymore? You really think she’d help us get rid of a goon like Frankie? You think she’d give a rat’s ass about us losing this place?”

  “It’s named after her.”

“Yeah, like her insisting we call it Lilith’s Playground has fulfilled her deepest desires, and now she’s sworn to protect us through all eternity. We spurned her affections, Andras. You weren’t there the day she cast the spell.” Zach shuddered visibly. “You didn’t see the look in those black eyes. Be grateful all she did was make us sterile. No. We can’t ask her for help. Not ever again.”

Andras pushed back from the desk and began to pace the tiny office. “Fine then. Frankie is only a mortal. We’ll fight him on our own. We still have some powers.” At least, he and Leo did. At one point this morning, Andras had to pull back because he felt his wings trying to come out. The last time he’d let that happen the woman he was making love to had run screaming from the grounds, and they’d never found her.

  “They’re fading.”

Andras stopped walking and stared at his friend. It hadn’t occurred to him to ask any of the others if they were experiencing the same phenomena he was. “Fading?”

Zach shrugged. “Little things, year by year. I can’t make my wings unfurl anymore, and it’s getting more difficult to read their thoughts, especially the cautious ones.”

“Yeah, me, too. The thoughts, that is. The wings I can still do, and…well, I happen to know the seduction powers are still firmly in place.”

Zach raised his eyebrows. “Is that so? Anyone in particular you’d care to tell me about?”

Andras averted his gaze, wishing he’d kept his trap shut.

“You’re joking. Please tell me you’re joking.”

He shrugged. “What’s the big deal?”

“You alone, or was Leo in on this as well?”

  “Both of us.”

  “When? Why?”

Andras snorted. “Do I need your permission, Zach?”

“No, but don’t you think it’s just a bit dangerous to be fooling around with someone who’s being hunted by a mob boss?”

“He’s not going to look for her here.”

Zach punched one fist into the opposite palm. “Damn! I knew you two wouldn’t be able to keep your dicks out of her. You practically drooled all over her the day she showed up. Since when do we hire staff without checking them out first, and then bang them?”

  “Let it go, Zach.”

  “This is my business, too.”

  “I know that.”

Zach ran his hands through his hair. “What else did she tell you about Frankie?”

“That was it. She found the jewels, tried to pawn them, and he found out.”

“Was it a drop? Why did she take it? How can you be sure she isn’t working for him and simply stole it instead of taking it where she was supposed to?”

Andras didn’t want to admit to Zach that he’d just voice
d every concern of his own out loud. “I don’t know the answer to any of those questions.”

“You got suckered by a pretty dame. Who seduced whom?”

“It wasn’t like that. She…” If he told Zach about Mrs. Stanton’s necklace it would only make Blair sound like the thief he and Leo had suspected she was. “She didn’t seduce us. This was totally our doing.”

  “Why?”

“Because we could, okay? We were talking to her about…we were trying to get more information about Frankie and her father, and it just happened. She’s a beautiful girl. I couldn’t help myself, and neither could Leo.”

“And now you’re no more informed than you were last night.”

Andras patted the satchel. “Not true. We have this. She hid it outside, and she told us exactly where to find it. Why would she have done that if she meant to take it for herself?”

“Why did she bring it here in the first place?”

“The goons were in her house. She got scared and ran.”

“And now she’s seduced two of her employers. Are the rest of us next?”

Anger bubbled up inside Andras, hot and red. “Don’t be crass, Zachary. It’s not like that. She was a virgin.”

Zach gave him a droll look. “Oh, how romantic. You tag team a virgin who’s running from a mob boss and her crooked father. Nicely played, Andras. What’s next? We invite the nuns from Saint Mary of Perpetual Help here for a week of uninhibited sex with a dozen Nephilim? Hell, let’s invite Archbishop Mundelein while we’re at it, eh? Or how about His Holiness? Let’s make it a gang bang for the entire Catholic church.”

  “Now you just sound insane.”

“And last night you were in here defending Blair to Leo. It’s one thing to burn up the bedsheets with our guests. They come here expecting it. But the staff? We’ve kept them off-limits for a reason, Andras. We’re running a business here, not a brothel.”

Andras slammed his fist on the desk then stood in front of the window, not really seeing the breathtaking view of the lake. Everything Zach said was true. Last night he’d been the one practically begging Leo to give her a chance to explain. But when she’d pulled that necklace out of her pocket, all he’d felt was crushing disappointment, until she told them about the jewelry and running from Frankie’s goons. Then he began to believe her story.

And how had he rewarded her honesty? By taking her virginity, along with Leo. Nicely played? Not at all. He was a shit. A giant pig of a man who’d used his powers to enhance the sexual experiences of a frightened young woman. But now that he’d had her, there was no turning back. And it wasn’t just the sex. Blair Lorring pulled at him in a way he couldn’t understand.

  “Feeling guilty?”

Andras resisted the urge to assure Zach the powers that helped him read thoughts were still intact. “A bit.”

“Well, what are you gonna do about it?”

Andras had no idea what he was going to do about it. “I’m going for a walk.”

  * * * *

Blair found it difficult to concentrate on her housekeeping duties. She alternated between humming every song she knew and sitting with her head in her hands, fighting back tears. At least none of the guests were in their suites this afternoon, and she could be alone with her thoughts.

Her pussy was sore, her ass cheeks still burned, and each time an image of Leo or Andras in all their muscled glory filled her head, her clit throbbed and her uniform felt too tight. Blair had never imagined anything so erotic and amazing would happen to her. And she had no idea what to do about it. Would they want to make love to her again? They’d told her it would take time to work off her debt. Had they meant it?

She knew why most of the female guests came here. This resort had a reputation for catering to its guests’ every desire. The speakeasy was only a front for what really went on behind closed doors. She listened when the other staff talked among themselves, sneaking cigarettes and gin outdoors. All twelve of the owners kept the guests happy in bed, and if even half the rumors were true, they each had an unbelievable amount of stamina.

Leo and Andras weren’t the only two owners she found almost unnaturally handsome and charismatic. They all possessed the same chiseled features and eyes that seemed to peer right into one’s soul. The first week she was here she blushed every time one of them glanced at her.

But there was something extra irresistible about Leo’s long, dark hair and Andras’s eyes. Blair put down the feather duster and flexed her fingers, wishing she could run them through Leo’s hair right now as she gazed into Andras’s eyes.

She sank into the nearest chair and let out a long breath. Her virginity was gone. All that angst and worrying about it had been for naught. She’d given it away without a second thought, as easily as she might have given someone directions to Michigan Avenue. What would her father say? What would the nuns at Saint Patrick’s say?

It hardly mattered. If there was a God and He was as kind and loving as the nuns in school had told her, she’d never see her father again, or Frankie and his goons. Thinking of Frankie rekindled her fears. Had Andras and Leo believed her story? She still wasn’t sure. Should she tell them about Lenny? Would that convince them, or would she see that look of worry pass between them again, as it had when she’d told them about the jewelry? She hated the possibility that what she’d told them had given them additional concerns.

The door to the suite opened, and Blair jumped up to resume her dusting, wiping the last of the tears off her face. She was almost finished in here anyway. Laughter filled the room, but Blair kept her gaze on the tabletop. When she finished, she turned to leave, gaping as Emmett Fallon, another owner, boldly kissed a woman. They behaved as though Blair wasn’t even in the room. The scent of coconut and vanilla filled her head. Each of the owners had a distinct smell that seemed to follow them around. Emmett had dark hair like Leo, but his eyes were ice-blue.

Six of them shared the same last name, and the other six shared a different surname. She’d once asked if they were all related, and Cindy, another housekeeper, had leaned close and whispered they were rumored to be cousins, but no one actually believed that. Blair had tried to press her on what people did believe, but Cindy refused to say anything else.

Blair didn’t realize she was staring at the couple until Emmett’s electric-blue eyes trained on her. A grin that reminded her of Leo’s spread across his face. “If you’re going to stay, you’ll have to join us.”

The woman giggled and buried her face against his chest. Blair felt heat climb up her neck. She shook her head, mumbled something incomprehensible, and backed out of the suite.

When she’d returned to her own floor, Blair grabbed a bottle of Coca-Cola out of the icebox in the staff lounge. She didn’t usually drink it at night since it tended to keep her awake, but the taste reminded her of the times she and her mother had stayed up late talking. They would always share a bottle of the soda while they gabbed. How she wished her mother was here right now. She’d know exactly the right thing to say and would give Blair solid advice.

Once she was safely in her own room, she let the tears flow. She didn’t even understand why she was crying. An intense longing filled her, and she couldn’t tell if it was the need for Andras and Leo’s bodies again, or something deeper, something more intimate.

What the hell had she done? She was soiled. What man would want her for a wife now? She’d given her body to two men like a two-dollar whore. Not that she’d ever been able to picture herself married with babies, but what else could a girl from her neighborhood hope for in life?

Blair took a sip of her Coca-Cola and tried to push those thoughts aside. Andras and Leo had been kind to her. They’d been careful not to hurt her, and their kisses had been tender and romantic. They’d both told her she was beautiful. It wasn’t just sex. It couldn’t be.

“Who the hell are you fooling, Blair?” she whispered, staring out the window. That’s why this place existed. The guests came, and the owners deliv
ered the goods, so to speak. Why would they treat their staff any differently?

The sun was setting over the woods, bathing everything in soft gold and purple light. The sight made Blair homesick for her mother. When she had still been alive, the three of them would go to the lake and watch the sun set over the woods across the shore. That was before her father had started working for Frankie.

Her mom had been gone fifteen years now, and Blair could still smell her perfume and hear her laughter. If she’d still been alive, none of this would have happened. Her father wouldn’t have become mixed up with Frankie, and Blair wouldn’t have had to run away.

And you’d never have met Leo or Andras.

What would happen to her now? Sure, she was safe from her father and Frankie, but was this her life? Was she destined to be merely a plaything for two handsome men who held her fate in their hands?

She should have given the goons the satchel and explained it had been a mistake. Sure, and then they would have all cooked a nice lunch and had a good laugh about it. Right before they filled her full of lead.

Blair finished her soft drink, brushed her teeth, and crawled into bed. She listened to the night sounds of insects and tried to fall asleep while Leo’s hair and Andras’s eyes danced behind her closed eyelids.

  Chapter Five

Too early the next morning for any decent conversation, the door to Leo’s office burst open, and Gregory Fallon strolled in, his characteristic sneer firmly in place. He perched on the edge of the desk and trained his green eyes on Leo. “What’s the scoop on Blair Lorring?”

Leo blinked a few times, trying to wipe the emotion from his face. “The chambermaid we hired a few weeks ago? What about her?”

“Elizabeth Stanton just came to see me. Damn near caught me in a compromising position with a guest, too. That dame needs to learn how to knock.” Gregory chuckled. “Either that or I should learn to lock my door, eh?”
