“What? That’s the best news I’ve heard in five years.”
“It’s been that long since I’ve given you good news?”
“Not good news, great news! And yes, when we found out you were cancer-free, that was the best news ever. God, Lourdes, this is amazing. I think instead of making sure every day has a little bit of good in it, we should start making sure every day has something great.”
“Liam, I’m not having that many babies, and I’m never getting cancer again, so I’m good with good instead of great.”
“Well, you can be, but I’m going to work on great. I fucking love you, KW.”
“You never did find a sexier nickname for me, did you?”
“You don’t need one. Your body and those sexy, pouty lips of yours speak for themselves. Come on, preggo, let’s go to the Netherlands.”
“Preggo? Oh, great. That’s not very sexy.”
He slides his hand under my shirt and over my flat tummy. “It is to me, baby. It is to me.”

Acknowledgements for The Doctor’s Nanny
This is the page where I usually thank everyone who helped me get my book ready for publication, and it still is. However, this time I wanted to begin by giving my readers the biggest acknowledgment of all.
I would not be able to do what I love for a living without you, period.
Thank you, from the bottom of my heart, for allowing me to fulfill my dream of becoming a full-time author. When I started out five years ago, I never would have believed that writing was going to be my new career. I thought, no way could doing something as fun as this make enough money to support my large family. I’m so glad I was wrong.
Your love of my words allows this single mother to be available for her children seven days a week, and that is more important to me than you could ever imagine.
After ten years of leaving my daughters to work overnight at the hospital where I was a nurse, I can rest easy knowing they are safe in their bedroom down the hall from mine.
I can be there for them when they are sick instead of phoning in cough medicine and ibuprofen doses. I can be here when they aren’t sure how long to put something in the oven for dinner, when they hear a scary noise, or when the dog throws up on the carpet. If you’ve ever left a sick child alone to go to work or cleaned up dog barf that’s been sitting for hours, you know how important that is.
So, to every person who reads my books and loves them, we thank you.
Now, on to the people I thank after every book starting with my daughters. Thank you for accepting the fact that I suck at cooking, I don’t have time for cooking, and the only thing I like about cooking is not cooking at all, but eating.
I’m beyond happy that you have learned to cook for yourselves over these past five years. While I’m writing about love overcoming all obstacles, you are in the kitchen learning how to make kick-ass spicy chicken tacos that’ll knock your socks off as Sasha does in this book.
I also must thank my publisher Prism Heart Press and my boss Patty who puts up with me never making a deadline. Someday I will surprise you with a perfect manuscript on or before the deadline date, but not today! Also, I want to thank Chris in marketing for getting my books in front of new readers. Your behind-the-scene work is always appreciated.
And. as always. a huge thank you to Louisa for another fabulous cover. You never cease to amaze me with your artistic talents. Keep those creative juices flowing. I still have a million stories to write!
Next is a lady who I have grown to love working with, my editor, Niki Kuzn, at Booktique Editing. Your ability to catch even the smallest error makes it easier for me to sleep at night. It’s hard to find an editor you really click with, and I’m so glad to have found you. Thank you for your unending patience and dedication. When I publish a book that you have worked on, I know it’s as close to perfect as it can be.
