Forbidden Temptation (Lee County Wolves Series) Book #4 Page 16

by Teresa Gabelman

“Sam talked,” Garrett informed her. “She isn’t looking for her father, but the man who killed her father and mother. Her father was alpha of the well-known Kingsman pack. No one could pin the murders on anyone, and the only witnesses disappeared.”

  Janna gasped. “Leda and Sam.”

Garrett nodded. “And it seems like she may challenge for the alpha of the pack.” Garrett cursed, his face concerned. “I have the Warriors searching for her until we can get there.”

“Fuck that,” Taz said, then grabbed the papers and looked them over. He then focused on Garrett. “I’ll find her and bring her back safely.”

“Taz.” Dell stopped him, but knew the look in the man’s eyes. Nothing would stop him from searching for Leda. “Keep in touch. We’re heading out soon.”

  Taz nodded before he disappeared.

“You have to find her.” Janna looked up at Garrett. “We should have pushed. We should have known.”

“She’s going to be fine,” Garrett reassured Janna, but everyone in the room knew that promise was empty until they found her.

“I’m ready to ride out,” Hunter said, his voice concerned. “Just let me tell Emily what’s going on.”

“Get your shit done and be back in half an hour,” Dell announced before walking out with Roslyn. “I’m sorry I have to leave. Are you going to be okay?”

“You find her, Dell.” Roslyn reached up and hugged him. “I’ll be fine and here when you get back.” She kissed him and hugged him tightly. “I love you.”

“I love you.” He held her close. “I’ll be back soon. Rain check on warming me up.”

“Always.” She gave him a sad smile, concern for Leda showing on her face. “Dell, what if she does challenge? What will happen to her?”

He saw in her eyes that she knew the answer to that question already, so he didn’t respond. He hugged her close. “We’ll find her before that ever happens,” Dell replied, and hoped that was true.

“Be careful,” Roslyn called out as Dell headed toward his shop.

Dell rushed to get his bag ready. Being alpha was proving to be a pain in the ass, but Leda was family, and he’d be damn if anything happened to her on his watch.

Taz rode out of town as if the devil were on his ass, nothing but finding Leda on his mind. He should have known she would take off in the middle of the night and when she had actually done that, he’d let her go. He’d convinced himself that once she’d done what she needed to do, then she would come back, and they’d work things out.

Yeah, that was a fucking stupid idea. Now she was gone and had obviously lied to them all about her intentions.

Revving his bike hard, he flew down the road. Nothing short of death would stop him from finding her. If anyone hurt her, they would die a death his ancestors had perfected.

He looked down at his speedometer, not caring what speed he was going, but to see a picture he had taken of Leda. Her expressive eyes stared up at him.

“I’m coming,” he vowed. Then his eyes rose to the open road in front of him, his mission clear in his mind. Find his mate and never let her go.
